That’s definitely Honeymoon.
I have figured out how to farm him with 4 gambits after the patch. If anyone is interested I’ll post a video and build tonight.
Edit: Right before you enter pop Sun Spirit. Use Horn 5, then Horn 4 while activating Sharpening Stone. Swap weapons to Longbow and use LB #4 right away. Then QZ and LB#2. He should be around 50% health and ticking because of the 25 stacks of bleed on him. Also, I use Sup Runes of Perplexity so he will have 3 or 8 stacks of Confusion on him that last for 10 seconds. Now all you have to do is dodge his one shot and he should be dead by then or very close to being dead. Takes about 13-18 seconds per run.
Edit #2: Obviously I’m using some Celestial items which gives me more toughness and power than the average condi build. But all condi variants should work. If at any point you need to heal, stealth with your LB and use TU.
Here is the build.
I did try with my Zerker set and wasn’t having much luck so I switched to my bleed build and he melts fast.
Couple questions to clarify for people that may be interested:
1) Gambits used?
2) How successful is it, as in success rate?
They changed Deadeye’s mechanics a couple of days ago, so the strategy that was posted no longer works.
Lol I just spent 48g to get gear needed on my guardian. Few hours later.. Nerfed xD meh, can still do it on my guardian tho. Made 43g so far ^^
Guardians master class hur hur
Based on the changes I think guards and thieves should still have no problem? Meanwhile I got kittened on my ranger. Smh.
What do you predominantly play PvE, WvW, or Pvp?
-If pve do you do dungeons or fractals alot or what do you enjoy doing?
-If wvw do you like playing with a group or roaming?
Answering these questions would be helpful for people to give you some tips.
I was thinking about that change last night too. Since you’ve shown it work I’ll probably drop some points in NM for Skirmishing. Ty for the contribution!
They have 1 stun break which is a trait on a looong cd and no access to stability, go figure.
OH GREAT! So to beat them you need another OP class, the perma stunning, ever regenerating warrior. That’s dandy.
Hey bud, flexes your bridge is that way points.
A couple of things:
Not sure if you know this, but you can rally off of orbs so if you get pulled try to target the orb as quickly as possible.
There is some food that gives you increased endurance regeneration if you’re finding that you run out of dodges.
If possible I think it would greatly help if you took out one signet for Endure Pain as it could help you survive the aoe if you don’t think you can get out of it.
The aoe in phase 2 rotates in an hourglass fashion. A safe zone from one barrage will turn into a kill zone in the next. Try to always keep moving in a circle and gunning with your rifle.
And finally keep trying, but if you find yourself getting really frustrated take a short break as it will make it easier to concentrate when you try again.

Nice glad it works for you!
Just tested Killshot with Signet of Stone and Signet of the Beastmaster. 0 damage…
I don’t know why it would not be working for ya’ll, but honestly it shouldn’t matter. The whole point of using this strat is that Deadeye will not use Killshot and you DPS him down before he teleports for the second time.
i hope you know that Signet of Stone doesnt work? Just as “Protect Me” doesnt work….
Yes it does? I have been farming this for hours, you don’t know what you are talking about.
Funny, since it doesn’t work when i use it…. and yes, i did use the trait… Tried “Protect Me” shout builds and whatnot. Although, in the end, i found it easier to just kill him before he can even headshot you.
How fast can you kill him? Takes me 6-9 seconds….
You can do it as fast as a guardian? I doubt that. This strat kills in about 15 secs.

The boons should prioritize available players, I don’t think spirits will be stealing boons. I believe your commander is misguided as boons should go to players first as is the case with pets. I may be wrong though as I have not tested this.
The boss can be killed about once per minute and with 4 gambits active you get 5 resplendent watchwork boxes, which will get you around 30s net profit. They also have a chance to drop charged lodestones although that is rare.
This is okay until he teleports away at last second and your sword makes you leap in to a mine and you die.
lol
Then your damage isn’t good enough, I never fail to kill him before he teleports for the second time.
I would like to add that even if Anet decides to nerf Deadeye like they did with Subject 7, this build is still very capable of shredding the t2 Charr boss Tyre. Loot is only slightly worse but it is just as quick.
After Deadeye nerf, now farm t2 Tyre with 5 gambits. Exhausted, fire, frailty, hamstrung, crowd favorite.
Full zerk s/wh. Traits: 30/30 and then whatever.
SoS, QZ, SotW
Feline pet
This is only like a 2s average drop in money from 4 gambit Deadeye farm. Use 5 on wh before fight then use 4 on tyre. Run past quaggan and pop SotW and QZ. Once quaggan gets back next to you use SoS.

They’re either lying or smashing uplevels which is nbd.
I can’t wait to have a 8c discount on wp fees!!!! It is going to help me save so much money…
Wvw = Melandru runes + Lemongrass all the way with the necro spam meta
Any combination of gear that gets you around 2k toughness/3k armor
Signets or gtfo
Melee train with gs and try not to be rally bot
It does affect us offensively because we can be more survivable with the stealth on glass cannons. That’s the reason why gc thieves were whined about so much. They can go all out attack, but still have a godmode out in the form of stealth.
wow very nice. A much needed blast finisher (althrough I’d rather see it on Maul instead of it getting vulnerability) and stealth… wow stealth, really? Very nice.
The blast finish on warhorn promotes weapon diversity though. If maul was a blast finisher then greatsword would pretty much be run in all builds. While the vulnerability is still a very nice change instead of bleeding to make maul an even greater spike skill.
Don’t forget the blast finish on CoTW that is a godsend for me in wvw.
omfg yesssssssssssssssssssssssss
So many people here spout off insults and hearsay that it is ridiculous. How about actually providing support for your arguments. You know like actual statistical proof.
Proof such as this: http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/33/89
This is a score tracker for the BG/DB/SoR matchup this week. Notice the Score Evolution graph. It appears that BG begins to first have a real separation in the scores at about 8am on Saturday. That doesn’t really tell you much, but now look at the Income Evolution graph. On reset night the ppt is fairly close, but it documents the strong showing DB had out of the gate(gratz for picking on the “big boys” btw). As the night progresses BG takes the lead in ppt followed by SoR at around 1am. For the next couple of hours BG and SoR are tight in ppt while DB is falling off. At around 4am however, BG begins to climb and SoR falls rapidly. By 7:30 am BG has around a 250+ advantage over SoR (385-120). This ppt advantage continues for several hours, at some points reaching 300+ ppt spread for BG.
Then around 2:30 pm on Saturday SoR begins to lessen the gap a little. By 4pm SoR is only around 100+ ppt behind BG and finally near 8pm passes them and maintains an average lead of somewhere around 50-150ppt advantage until 1:30am on Sunday. The highest ppt spread for SoR during this period is about 200+ over BG. After this the cycle is showing signs it will repeat itself tonight.
Overall:
BG has an average ppt lead over SoR of about 250+ with much higher peaks too, which lasts for about 7hours (7:30 am-1:30pm)
SoR has an average ppt lead over BG of about 100+ with a peak around 200, which lasts for about 5 hours (8:30pm-1:30am)
These are the facts take them for what you will, but don’t just make blatant statements about coverage without any proof.
Sincerely,
An objective observer
Well at least with the melee weapons evading/blocking/dodging are really important. So when using those weapons it becomes vital to save evades etc for deadly skills. After learning skills that are important to dodge though, I don’t see that much of a higher skill ceiling. I guess learning to micro the pet effectively, but that’s really not very difficult.
I’ve always wanted to play around with a spirit build (mobile banners, woo!), but I’ve been hesitant because of the effect recharge.
Does the 10 second internal CD affect only the person who activates the spirit, or does it affect the spirit itself, meaning for 10 seconds nobody gets to proc it?
The ICD only affects the person who activates the spirit.
Ranger is average in sPvP,pve, good/average roaming in WvW and really bad in Zergs.
Ranger is not ‘really bad’ in zergs…
Spirit Ranger can bring:
150 precision for everyone
Water field
Fire field
AOE poison
Protection for everyone
Burning for everyone
10% damage increase for everyone
Passive healing for everyone
Group rez for everyoneThat’s just off the top of my head…
“everyone” is more like a few people unless you’re running a ranger in every group and those spirit effects probably only proc 1 time before the spirits blow up in aoe.
Your suggestion for Signet of Renewal is op. Just because it wouldn’t be able to be stripped without hitting the ranger with 5 CC abilities. At least opponents can save Stuns and what not until after stability wears off or they can strip the boon. But if you forced them to burn through Unshakeable a lot of classes wouldn’t be able to deal with that imo.
So how much of a discount on wp/BLK are we talking about?
If its only like 15% then that practically makes no difference on wp prices. I’m already planning on voting for Evon, and would just like clarification on this campaign promise.
That is why the best option you have is to run greatsword, melee cleave, and take advantage of pets dying with beastmaster’s bond. Run something like this:
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-F;5FVu-g2ZDV-0;9-8j;1TEO;056A3;039;5c-k0W;16TsW6TsWh-kZ0-u2O;1VNVSWXXb2h3n4230CV4L0;9;9;9;9;9;9;04-6xYou have good survivability and damage, and you can run in the frontline of zeros.
That’s actually a build I’m going to test. Pity there’s no cavalier gear for me to take as only scepter ever dropped from me doing 48 fractal daily for a while.
Yeah I got stupid lucky on my gs, but I still don’t have the sword and axe. I suggest you could use Knight’s at the cost of a little crit damage, or atm I’m planning on using Celestial weapons for the cost of a little toughness in exchange for the precision and crit damage.

I don’t know those signet traits look deadly. A party of rangers could have 15 secs of no damage, 20 secs of 25% damage and long duration stability, and 5 full condi cleanses. Not to mention that they could all be running glass cannons and with all of this still have decent survivability. But hey a team of 5 guardians would basically be godlike so what the hell.
Haha I used to think that it should be changed so that it made boons affecting the pet affect the ranger, but after the recent changes that allow very easy might stacking on the pet now, and with your suggestions that would be way too op ^^.
I would like Fortifying Bond to be changed. I think that boons affecting the ranger should affect the pet by default, and that Fortifying Bond should serve some other purpose.
I think boons that affect the ranger should affect the pet by default because no other class has boons becoming less effective because of their class mechanics. If a ranger doesn’t put the 15 pts for Fortifying Bond then they are not receiving the full benefits from might, for instance, as other classes would.(Speaking in a group setting)
While i agree in principle, it might make the Ranger pet to overpowered, Plus the way Fortifying Bond works it actually keeps builds in check, and allows other builds to exist that wouldn’t otherwise, which is why I think it should stay.
Yeah I just don’t feel its fair to builds that can’t/don’t put 15 pts in WS just to get the basic effectiveness that they should already be getting from the class mechanic.

I think it would be cool, but probably not practical to be able to have 2 pets out at once. That way you could have a "dps"pet and a "support"pet out at the same time.
Of course this is mainly just to fill my rp desires of having two birds out with my t2 human falconer armor.
Something like: “You could wrestle a wolf, and maybe even win.”
Proceeds to 2 shot a nearby wolf….
Hate to be -that guy- and break the chain but I feel that it’s stupid to let someone just have something given to them, maybe I’m old fashioned but I feel if you yourself do not earn the achievement without having someone basically spoon feed it to you, you don’t deserve it. If they wanted everyone to have it then they’d award the achievement after finishing the race.
Hur hur I’m gonna go on a forum and pretend like I’m a kitten. No one cares about your opinion, the thread is simply thanking other players who are nice enough to let some win. I wonder how many of the people get the achievement this way really care if they “deserve” it. I would bet not many as a bunch of players are probably just relieved to have finally finished it and can move on to something else.
Maybe some people just want to be nice and don’t mind letting others win since the finish has practically no impact on what rewards you get. Every time I’ve seen someone get a skin drop they were in like 6th or 7th place. So personally I don’t care about finishing 1st.
I disagree, I won 16 games in a row last night. It’s all about knowing the track and the power ups.
The only thing I have a problem with is the 5v1 leet groups who roll around thinking they are the kitten. If you duel me 1v1 and beat me ok then I’ll start the puzzle over, but to run a full group and gank unsuspecting loners is kind of cowardly imo.
I don’t mind people who want to grief the wvw jp, I mean it is in a pvp zone. However, I don’t see the entertainment some people get from it. Sure its fun to push people off ledges the first couple of times, but then it is just meh. One has to sit down and ask oneself: Why am I doing this?
The majority of griefers are built to do what they do and they troll others who are more likely built for group play, or in this case pve, definitely not 1v1s. So whatever floats their boats I guess. I do believe though that if one wants to grief, then he/she should do it alone and not party up. 1v1 griefing is ok, but doing that on top of being 5v1 is kind of overkill and coawardly imo.
I don’t find it difficult it is just annoying that my pet gets stomped in 2 seconds. But other then that it is pretty easy.
1. I’ve been testing this kind of bomber build alot lately, and while it sounds very good it has one problem. The activated effects take too long to occur, so by the time they go off people tend to have kited out of them. However, like you theorized the concept is good and when it does connect it is pretty good.
2. Personally I think doing the combo into a Whirling Defense would be a waste, and would be more eager to try it with traps or go into a hilt bash→maul combo.
3. Yes I’m excited about this, 6 stacks of might is good plus if you pop Signet of the Wild you’re getting 25% more damage, and the boost on Signet of the Hunt can help make that spike with maul even more deadly.
4. Eh, bleeds.
5. I use this trait regularly when I’m not using spirits. It’s actually very even now. It may not sound all that great to remove poison and blind, but I find that using it in conjunction with SoR helps to make sure that a large portion of condis stay off you and gives a greater chance for SoR to hit a more potent condi like chill or immobilize.
6. Also excited about this, even with complaints about swiftness and regen being the boons. Only thing I’m concerned about is the short duration on Guard as it will needed to be recast quite often and its casting time is somewhat long for something that is a shout.
7. Love the added change of a stun break. Actually gives the skill some viability as an invuln skill, especially for people who don’t want to spec 30/x/x/x/x just for SoS.
8. Like this change too as it will make might stacking very easy on the pet even without using RaO.
I’m not going to prove anything. Sorry I tried to help. Just remember about me when update is out.
That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. When the patch does come out and if you turn out to be right it means nothing, so sorry I will not remember you.
