My feedback:-
Same as usual…boring…yawn…nerfs…more boring…please someone wake me up…
Why anyone would get excited to log in to check out the next balance patch is beyond me…
Sorry if its negative but its 100% honest.

game balance cares only about spvp?
Yes, this as always been the case.
Futhermore, the reason why there is a lack of utility/elite skills and traits is sPvP/esports.
There will never be any awesome balance patches in GW2, giving great new (powerful) skills, just the same tweaking, shaving, tiny buffs and big nerfs. Been that way for 2-3 years since GW2 as been out and its all in Anet’s quest to make spvp a popular esport platform.
My list is similar to the OP’s:-
1) Buy to play.
2) Graphics/art work, always been a very, very high standard.
3) Dynamic events (much better than hearts/static quests), the chains of dynamic events have always been great.
4) WvW, it was awesome at release and for 6 months to a year later but lack of development undermined it.
5) Quality of life features like trading post, wardrobe and wallet.
My top 5 things Anet got wrong (played from release day):-
1) Too much temporary content, wasted probably 10,000’s of hours in development time, adding stuff then removing it 2 weeks/a month later. What a waste!
2) 90% of there focus on living story.
3) Not enough attention given to WvW or sPvP.
4) Not enough content added that you could keep building up and replaying over and over again, like WvW masteries or fractals.
5) Total lack of any character progression when you get to 80th level and unlock all traits/skills. Not enough useful skills/traits, no variety.
In my eyes GW2 was brilliant on release day but they failed to build on that in any meaningful way other than some quality of life improvements, fractals and WvW masteries.

I have been playng since release day but the 9 months are so not very much, just nothing that I personally want to do in game anymore. I am not in the least burned out, just no way to really advance in the game anymore. No character development and I don’t like living story which is Anets main focus, so nothing to do really.
Why are experienced players in practice mode?
I go in to get my daily on other professions that is not my current main pvp character. So Necro is my current PvP profession so when one of the other 7 come up, off to practice I go…
Anyone noticed btw in practice mode it has the same old map selection system, so around 90% of the time you get skyhammer…lol
This is equally bad. Imagine getting Daily Skyhammer/Courtyard/Spirit Watch win.
Oh god no!
Even for 100 gold reward I would not do daily skyhammer / courtyard win…
I LIKE the new dailies….
Completed 9/10 pretty easy, no real difference from the old dailies but u get extra rewards. Can’t see the problem really…
The only 1 I didn’t do was the daily fractal 11-20, because you had to do all 4 fractals…not just 1 fractal and no one’s got time for that…for a measly daily reward…lol
What’s the rewards for Wintersday Daily? I hovered my cursor over the chest where it usually tells you, but no info…
Are the rewards worth doing it?
It is hard to be excited about anything since Anet is so secretive about the future.
^This…
People seem to be posting what they wish for in the future…not the limited amount of info Anet have given on what’s coming up.
AFAIK…upcoming features are :-
Living Story Jan
Changes to dailys
New WvW thingy
Pushing PvP esport via tournaments
Other than that, I am unaware of anything else planned…
So very little excitement here…
If we are going to have more badges Anet…
CAN WE PLEASE HAVE SOME REWARDS WORTH BUYING WITH THEM!!!
Just a thought there…
1st impressions, it sounds pretty good…its like a advent calendar but for every month of the year (with a extra+ month thrown in for good measure over the entire year) and I like advent calendars.
Looks like extra rewards for pretty much doing the same’ish dailys but we are also having easy dailys and some harder ones. Its also good you only need to do 3 dailys to get 10 achievement points and that if you miss a day, its no big deal on your progress to the full 28 days completion.
All in all pretty good…
Is this starting with the Wintersday update in DEC or is it being implemented in the January update?
I think Evan and Justin did a great job, considering they where probably the only ones working on the new system.
+1
I really like the new PvP changes, much better than before and really great changes.
Since patch:-
1) No 4vs5 (super).
2 ) Only 1 Skyhammer (marvellous).
3) More balanced teams, with very few duplicate professions (no more 5 engineers!).
4) Lots more close matches.
5) Queue is quicker, often less than 1 minute.
All in all, really good.
I have only played Skyhammer once so far and I have never seen more than 5 votes for it, usually scores 1-2 at most when it comes up. The only time it gets 5 is when you have a pre-made team who are set up for it and they all vote for it.
Skyhammer metrics got messed up by a few players farming it some time ago for easy rank/glory gain, that’s probably why Anet thought it was popular because a some teams/players were exploiting it.
If NCSoft has talked about an expansion, then it’s because an expansion or expansion-like content is in the works. Or do you people seriously believe that GW2’s publisher has no idea of what Anet’s plans are?
Yes, the publisher is probably fairly clueless…
Last year in there report and they said a expansion, ‘soon’…been a year and no expansion…I think the publisher confuses LS updates with a expansion or purposely choose to think of them as expansions. Anet came out and squashed expansion rumours last year. They have not really commented this year.
Given we are in Dec now, its pretty certain no expansion before September 2015. September-Early November are the best release dates for any new game/expansion.
I would love new, GOOD, USEFUL, AWESOME SKILLS being added to GW2.
However, Anet have already added new healing skills and traits to GW2 but they are pretty much USELESS, WEAK, BORING and POINTLESS.
No point in the devs adding new skills/traits if they are of no use whatsoever, just a waste of dev’s time.
WvW is the probably the least rewarding area in GW2 now.
They could probably fix this very easily by giving more choice of rewards for badges of honour. However, Anet very, very rarely reuse a old currency, they prefer to create a band new currency as a rule.
RIP – Dishonor will catch everyone
The title of this thread is correct, sooner or later everyone playing will get dishonour. However, is that worse than all the players that rage/quit often over something trivial and leave 4vs5’s? I would say no…
My personal experience, been playing since day 1, is in 2 years I have been DC’d around 12’ish times but 10 of them were in WvW or PvE (usually invoving massive zergs), so annoying but of no real impact. The other 2 were in PvP.
So would 2×15 minute enforced downtime be a big deal, no not really. Especially, when in that time I had probably 100’s of 4vs5’s due to other players leaving.
Other players leaving because there is no penalty IS A FAR BIGGER PROBLEM than the rare 15 minute enforced downtime.
The changes sound interesting and if they work would be a improvement on the current system.
One question I have will the wait time for a game be increased by a lot? You can wait 10-20 mins+ now for a team/solo q game on occasions….
So why ANet doesn’t create more contents like EoTM? They have the best example right in front of their eyes.
Because EoTM took a full year of development time to create…this is straight from the devs themselves….so they not going to do that very often!
I agree thou EoTM is great content. Much better than Dry Top or Silver Wastes which will be/are ghost towns after 1-2 months.

I agree with the OP on a complete lack of character progression in GW2, to keep the longer term players interested.
I have had all the 8 character classes at lvl 80 for over a year or more now and the only form of character progression left to me is gaining WvW ranks. Other than that there is nothing really….
Sure we get new content, stories to play through which is great but after completing it, other than a bit more gold, your characters are pretty much the same as at the start, no gains, no character progression at all.
Seems a bit pointless bothering….
Lack of waypoints is bad…
Downtime, travelling from a to b becomes very repetitive after a while…its new and shiney now but after its been around sometime it will become increasingly annoying.
A, D and E for me but its hard to be put in a box really as none really describe me as a player…
From a dev point of view….
Copy/paste from last year…good to go!
Its says same content as last year but any chance of the Mad Kings Dungeon from 2012 Halloween? That was great…
That’s quite a good idea really…
Why don’t you make gold from trading on the TP well your waiting?
Or just play hotjoin till queue pops (then leave hotjoin, no one cares to go to team game) or talk crap like everyone else?
That’s what I usually do…they are all mini games in a way…
1500-2000 hours without a precursor drop is a common them among most players. My first precursor drop (which was from WvW) was after I had played over 4500 hours on my MAIN account. The second precursor drop (which was from the mystic forge) was after my MAIN account had over 5500 hours racked up. And I have a few alt accounts with about 2500 hours up in total with no precursor drop.
I am not sure what point our trying to make here…
But what % of players have clocked 4,500+ hrs up on there account who played GW2? Chances are its like 0.9% or less…and if you told me that before I bought GW2 or even hinted that was the case, I would have avoided GW2 like the plague and not bought it.
I suspect a lot of players would have done the same and avoided wasting there gaming time.
At least we know what kind of RNG to expect from Anet in the future and can avoid buying any future products from them.

2012’s halloween was great, Mad King’s Dungeon was excellent…
2013’s Halloween was average to poor and not worth bothering with really.
So 50/50 if it will be good/bad…
Worth wondering around looking at the decorations anyway, even if the content turns out to be crap.
Why are we still playing?
I am not playing, just browse the forums hoping for news on a good update or something new…I am enjoying playing my steam games & Diablo 3! Clocked over 500+ hours in the last 3-6 months on those, GW2 less then 10 hrs…
Main reasons I don’t play GW2 anymore, is no meaningful progression for any of my characters. No rewards to aim for. Essentially there are no goals I personally want to do in GW2, so I feel any time spent in the game is a utter waste of time.
I just want magic find to make a difference.
Magic find makes a huge difference.
No it doesn’t…it makes virtually zero difference…that’ my experience anyway.
It did when the current luck system 1st got implemented but after a month or so it either got broken (bugged) or someone at Anet nerfed it.
or not rewarded at all. These individuals become sample cases and spotlights for experiences that maybe shouldn’t exist.
This is me…NOT REWARDED AT ALL
Its one of the reasons I do not play GW2 much any more…my steam catalogue of games plus Diablo 3 are FAR, FAR MORE REWARDING. I feel any time I spend playing GW2 to be a utter and complete waste, with zero forward progression for anyone of my characters. The only exceptions are fractals, where you go up ranks and WvW ranks, where you can build your ranks and get a regular chest reward too.
I have played 1,500-2,000 hrs of GW2, NEVER HAD A PRECURSOR DROP, you should be ashamed of yourself John Smith for such a crap reward system.
2Add secondary reward mechanisms (ie. token based system) alongside the primary RNG system; allow progress to be made even when you don’t get the result you want.
This is the reward system I most like…just set a price on something and I will collect the tokens and pick my own reward. Don’t make it a secondary reward system, scrap RNG completely and just have all rewards token based.
Ocassionally, often during festivals you have the tokens, collect reward from the vendor, that’s when I personally play GW2 the most, because I actually have a reason to play the game, a goal…

I completely agree with the OP, Warrior has been seriously overnerfed.
I parked my warrior right after the last patch at the Trading Post, where he will stay until Warriors are viable to play again. Instead I play my terrormancer and Guardian.
Anet constantly do this, rather than balance classes, they buff a class, until it gets loads of complaints then overnerf it. Every single class bar Guardian goes through this process. I believe Guardian is left alone so they have a base guide to judge it all around.
I think its a stupid way to do stuff and feel sorry for the players who only play 1 class, rather than players like me who play all 8 and just switch to the most powerful builds after every balance patch.
When are mobs gonna be fixed?
Answer:- NEVER
The 1st week, there were some awesome fights lasting several hours with Desolation, so because of that yes I did enjoy the WvW tournament.
However, after the 1st week, there were less good fights, mainly because Deso knew they ultimately had no chance of beating Seafarer’s Rest in a weekly matchup.
WvW needs to be more competitive, so more servers have a chance to win, then you get awesome fights…
Its always nice to get some bonus loot too and add another title to the collection, especially since a lot of the standard WvW titles are virtually impossible to get…

Lots of staff have been leaving GW2 in the last 6 months or so. Either:-
1) Bringing in new blood to reinvigorate GW2. Hope its this!
2) Reducing the staff levels to just enough to maintain the game, produce new gem shop updates and very infrequent updates. A lot points to this…sadly…
You mean 4 staff, two community managers, 1 UI designer and Sharp? is that what you mean a lot?
As for sharp, anybody that knows a thing or two about the job market knows that the only real way to get a promotion is to change jobs. Personally, I am impressed he was able to stay in the same company for 8 years, you rarely see that in the tech industry, especially in gaming where you are underpaid versus other industries.
UI Designer probably left because she is cute and the guild wars 2 show made her popular enough to move her beyond UI design.
Loads more staff members have left than that, just not been highlighted on this forum or Reddit or other forums. But a few new faces have arrived too.
Its clear just from the updates we have had in the last 6 months, that a lot less work on GW2 is being done.
Really everyone is in the dark about what’s happening. If they have reduced staff numbers by a considerable amount they will not advertise the fact for sure…

The best and simplest method of competitive WvW is introduce a HANDICAPPING system based on the points score we have now.
The way it would work is at the start of the week, each of the 3 servers performance would be looked at over the last 4 weeks only. Each 3 server ranked, lowest server 1pt still equals 1 pt, middle server scores 0.9 to 0.1 pt depending on its average advantage over bottom server and top server same.
For example,
Seafarers Rest 1 pt=0.5pts (strongest server over last 4 weeks)
Kodash 1pt=1pt (weakest server last 4 weeks)
Desolation 1pt=0.8pts
Those are just random numbers to give you the idea of what I mean. The actual numbers would be worked out based on previous 4 weeks performance.
The effect such a system would have is create intense, close matches which would end up being decieded thurs or fri, probably with all out pushes and intense fighting. It would be awesomely competitive, often going down to the wire, between all 3 servers..

Don’t call it click wars 2 for nothing u know!
I have ruined 2 mouse’s so far with click wars 2 excessive clicking, really, really bad design but devs don’t care. Probably did it on purpose, after all well your clicking away in game they have more users online.
Click Wars 2
Jump Wars 2
Grind Wars 2
Pointless Wars 2
All better fitting names than Guild Wars 2…
I agree. It’s a kitten ed if you do and kitten ed if you don’t type thing.
Last time people complained because they had no chance if they were locked in a tier where they were last place.
There really isn’t a good way to do this.
Actually, there is….
Its called handicapping. Whenever you want a competition to be competitive with varying skill levels (in WvW case coverage, 1 server has more players or more skilled players or more organised players) you introduce some kind of handicapping system. This would not be terribly hard to do in WvW and would be best implemented vis the points system based on perhaps a average of the previous 4-6 weeks scoring for that server.
However, I understand completely why Anet will never do this. Its because the only reason anyone would transfer server atm is to change WvW servers, as there is no other real reason to transfer. Obviously it costs gems to transfer and a lot of it goes on especially revolving around guilds being lured from world to world for competitive events. Anet would lose that income with a handicapping system so never going to do it.
Finally, I personally disagree this Fall tournament has been a failure, I am on Seafarer’s Rest (EU) and we had some great/awesome battles vs Desolution in week 1. Also, the rewards system is far better this time around, just need more choice of rewards there, that’s all.
Your survey supports what a lot of players on this forum have been trying to tell Anet for ages, but they constantly ignore us.
1. Majority of players want a proper expansion. Really GW2 has been screaming out for a proper expansion for 6-12 months now. AFAIK Anet have no plans for one!
2. Majority of players want more endgame content to do at 80th lvl, like open world or instanced bosses, dungeons, WvW improvements etc… What do Anet do, scrap the dungeon team and concentrate development on low level play….
Anet are just not listening and have not been for a while now….
Also, 3,000+ in a survey is usually statistically accurate to +/-5%. Election polls usually only target 1,000 to 2,000 people and they are usually correct. The only thing that may be biased, is that its more likely, hardcore/veteran players frequent the official forum, reddit and other forums etc… So it could be biased because of that.

I have been loving playing my Ranger in WvW, Longbow/Shortbow, piercing arrows (hit upto 5 targets)….profit, collect the loot bags…AWESOME.
Making the most of it before usual Anet, heavy handed nerfs descend…
Yea, I like it.
Genius move, concentrate on the battles, less on killing guards, dolyaks or taking the same camp 500 times…
Why the kitten, would anyone want to collect spoons of all things?!?
Is this some kind on ‘insider’ Anet joke?
I just changed equipment on 1 of my characters.
Using the old trading post it would have taken 1-2 minutes tops.
This new one took me 10 mins+. Its utter kitten!
Anet probably wasted a team working on this ‘new’ TP for 6 months…
This new TP is far, far worse than the old one.
All the old one needed was a few tweaks and it would have been great but Anet don’t do simple when they can instead waste loads of resources and balls things up!
That’s what they have been doing since GW2 came out, finding ways to make the game worse and wasting resources on useless projects that the player base is not interested in.
Warrior’s adrenaline F1 skills are all unusable now…..
You literally have 0.00000000001 millisecond to use your F1 skill before your adrenaline is zero.
Even Usain Bolt was quoted as saying, “I am not fast enough”.
Warrior.
There main class skill, Adrenaline got completely butchered, so its completely unusable. It goes down so fast now Warriors can’t use there F1 class skill on any weapon, which removes all those skills from the game completely.
Its like Necro losing there Death Shroud or thieves having no iniative or Rangers having no pets or Ele’s having no attunements…
No contest Warrior’s Adrenaline.
