I just don’t really get one thing.. We need the map gift for a PvP legendary.. This is the biggest deal for me, to be honest.. They force us to do the most PvE for something that I want in PvE.. I mean.. Just make some PvP gift?
The tables should be turned. To get a legendary you need to reach max PvP rank aka r55 in today’s value.

The reason mesmers can’t get in the meta is because of Necros and Engineers but you make it sound like they are thriving in EU in your condition meta. That doesn’t make sense when mesmers are weak to conditions (by design).
You forgot to read the word, ‘except’, Mesmers don’t really have a decent/good condition build under the current meta AFAIK, so after go direct damage which does them no favours whatsoever…since it makes them even more fragile, although at least they have illusions/limited stealth which is more than a Ele has.
I agree with what you say about Mesmers. This current meta left them out in the cold.

Condition removal is actually being nerfed for several classes too…
Last I checked the top teams run 1-2 condition classes at the most. Only removal I am aware of being nerfed is lyssa runes.
Some traits that counter conditions are being nerfed by as much as 50% and healing is being nerfed on some classes. Perplexity runes are being introduced. There is even a new trait that counters all crit dam %. Lets not forget direct damage from crits over all classes across the entire game is being nerfed 10%+…
Certainly, looks like a big boost to the current condition meta to me…
Remember armour does not affect conditions, vitality, healing, condition removal are your only defences…

You might possibly be wasting your time farming transmutation stones.
From the 15.4.14, they are going to be easily obtainable in sPvP via the new reward system. You do reward tracks apparently, each has 40 tracks and every 1 track gives you 4 charges, which equal 1 and a third transmutation stone. You only after win 1.5 sPvP matches to complete a track, which is fairly easy.
So unless you have a serious aversion to sPvP, I would not bother farming transmutation stones!
That’s not true.
Each reward track gives you 4 charges, in total. Each reward track has 8 minor tiers, and every second tier will you give you 1 charge. So, 40 pvp matches will give you 4 charges. That’s still better than nothing, but not that overly helpful either if you’re someone who loves swapping their armor around, or has a lot of alts.
I wish there was a way to customize your PVP rewards. If I’m a fashionista, I’d like the option to get more transmutation charges and in return get less tomes of knowledge or any of the other rewards.
Really? Made it sound like you got 4 charges per track when I watched ready up but I could be wrong…
There’s 1 PvP track, 5? regional tracks and at least 8? dungeon tracks, so that’s 56 charges in total if it works as you say…plus other tracks apparently are going to be released…
Already worked out I should have 120+ charges when the change happens anyway…

Lyssa runes will go from a pretty popular set, for a variety of different reasons, to hardly anyone using them anymore. Typically what happens after a harsh nerf…
All nerfs do generally is limit choice, dumb down the game more, force players to move onto something else and occasionally if they are really kittened about it quit…sooooo negative…
Whenever I am in a good team who win 90%+ there matches…I get told very, very, firmly, NEVER, EVER, EVER LEAVE CLOSE.
Been shouted at loads of times by my teammates for leaving close…I get bored…
Theory is bunker close, far.
Other 3 contest centre, help close if needed.
The far player is on his/her own but its usually a de-cap engineer, so he’s fine…
Way pointing is a HUGE, HUGE gold sink…in order to remove the cost, they would after nerf loot/rewards across the entire game by 20%+ to compensate…

Just to make the OP’s day, Rangers are getting a new trait on the 15.4.14, that allows there arrows to travel twice as fast. So they will be able to stick 2x the amount of arrows in you now, all at 1500 range…lol

I would actually go further, I would remove every kind of bow from the game, Anet hates them, all they ever do is nerf them (only 1 exception Ranger Longbow).

Lyssa runes nerfed as well, should get a mention here as well. Since that hits a lot of Warriors/Thiefs really hard too. They now only remove 5 conditions to buffs.

^^^Everything ends is spot on…it was always impossible to use up all your mats.
After I had used all my glory up getting as many skins/dyes as possible I still had loads of crafting materials left over.
That’s just the way it is, they will disappear on the 15.4.14 and soon be completely forgotten about, no big deal.
I like how it was advertised as a March ‘sale’, implying every item would have some kind of discount, when quite a lot of ‘sale’ items were normal price. In the real world advertising standards agency would give them a heavy fine for false advertising, at least in my country. Everything, should have had a minium of 5% discount…
Anet have already answered this, all those excess material will vanish, be deleted on the 15.4.14.
All skins will be moved to the new wardrobe, from wherever they are now, so you can access them whenever you want, but after use charges to apply your look. Those charges are going to be fairly easy to aquire by doing the new reward system.
Everyone has had plenty of notice on all of this 3-6 months, its your own fault if you did nothing…
Yes, warriors/thiefs are not going to use Lyssa anymore. Probably a lot will go more offensive, hitting considerably harder than before, so you may end up wishing Lyssa had remained the same…
We have a new option (which will remain top secret until deployed), that’s probably better than Lyssa runes..

Warrior longbow has only had double digit or nearly double digit nerfs applied to it in the last 6 months…
Also, why, when its called hambow, ie 2h hammer + 2h longbow is it the longbow bit that gets 90% of the nerfs?
In fact, someone at Anet hates bows because all the nastiest weapon nerfs in the game have been applied to bows:-
Ranger shortbow, massive nerfs.
Thief shortbow, multiple nerfs.
Warrior longbow, the most nerfed weapon ever in GW2 history!
The only one shown any love is Ranger longbow but it still sucks…
Also, those nerfs have happened when the majority of players say the best way to do PvE is stack on 1 spot and buff, dps, revive using melee weapons…
Just doesn’t add up!

Yes, I have broken all my armour at least twice running dungeons for the 1st time. I remember completing a dungeon in my underwear once due to completely broken armour, forgot to equip any repair canisters…doh!
In WvW, when we are badly outnumbered, my armour has taken quite a battering on occasion but never completely broken but enough for me to use a repair canister rather than pay the repair vendor.

Yes, anything with crit dam % now will be converted into ferocity and nerfed, no matter what it is, weapons, armour, runes, skills, traits, karka shells anything…
Its a complete, universal across the game mass nerf. Probably effect 90%+ of players in 1 form or another…

On maps:-
All should be playable in hotjoin/custom.
Team Q/Solo Q should use the exact same maps and use maps that do not require a specific build. Sky Hammer, Spirit Watch and Capricorn all benefit from using a tailored build to play them.
You could also make Sky Hammer, Spirit Watch playable on there own for those who like them, ie part of no rotation, just 1 specfic map you can join. Obviously Capricorn is no longer on the table its in the waste bin underneath…

Honestly, I have never seen anyone QQ about the Capricorn map before…underwater combat yes…Capricorn no.
Well, I have seen probably a 100+ different threads QQ’ing about Sky Hammer and perhaps 20’ish about Spirit Watch.
Why not keep Capricorn and just redesign the water part to a land area? Still sad to see the underwater part go but at least you keep a map…
The features pack as a overall package I like and when it is released will play GW2 a lot more.
Not been playing at all recently because I have nothing to do in game and rewards in GW2 are boring, uninspiring and generally rubbish. I play GW2 just for content, I play other games for exciting rewards/drops.
Also, even through as I said I like the features package and think its great as a whole. There are small bits of it I hate, mainly the negative nerfs and some of the stuff that’s being permanently deleted from the game as a whole. Those drive me crazy mad!
So Sky hammer being deleted soon, lots of qq’ing about that map and Spirit Watch gets some stick too, lets delete those as well.
Not as if there is loads of maps to choose from in sPvP.
I have always liked underwater combat…its sad to see a entire map deleted from the game just to get rid of it. Also, sad to see PvP dumbed down even more.
Chance’s are, we are never going to see any additional underwater combat in GW2 as a whole at any point in the future…a few of us had visions of ship vs ship sea battles but no chance now.
EoTM is the solution to queues, select the main map you want to enter, then play EoTM until your turn in the queue pops…simples.
Its a good system and EoTM is a good map…your problem if you do not like it.

Anet have as usual caved into the negative/QQ brigade:-
-Deleted underwater combat completely from PvP, in the process deleted a entire map.
-Nerfing Warrior/Thief/Engineer more.
-Mainly hitting Warrior/Thief by nerfing Lyssa Runes.
Because of negative players who are always QQ’ing and raging on the PvP forums GW2 just continues its spiral downwards.
Sad thing is those players who QQ and rage and call for nerfs, will just move on to something else to QQ about and call for more nerfs to something else.
Its a major nerf anyway, Lyssa runes are going to plummet in value on the TP.
It all hurts/nerfs warriors and thiefs in particular who were very effective with this rune set.
Oh yeah and due to pressure from the PvP crowd, the following additional nerfs are incoming:-
•Pistol-whip thief, Hambow Warrior, Decap Engineer spec will be taken a look at.
•Hambow Warrior ?Arcing Shot (Longbow 3) – hit too hard, reduced damage by 15%.
?Merciless Hammer – Right now you deal 25% to crowd-controlled enemies, we reduced that by 5% to 20%.
?Impale (Sword 4) – right now it applies torment over 10s – made it so it applies torments over 4 seconds.
•Pistol-whip Thief ?Pistol-whip is very strong, increased initiative cost from 5 to 6 so you can’t spam it over and over (pvp only change).
•Decap Engineer ?Tune down Automated Response – no longer 100% condition reduction, 50% reduction instead but triggers at 33% HP instead of 25% HP.

Apparently, we are going to like the change.
% may stay same but we may get more utility, like put 1 or more of each acsended material in get something useful out or 4 superior runes in, 1 superior rune out.
It may even pop out some kind of token for failed attempts which you can spend as a consulation for bad RNG.
Who knows? If its a good change I may even stop referring to it as the Mystic Tiolet!

The mystic forge changes are a work in progress. What I will promise is that when it is done you will like it much better than you do now.
The number of rares and exotics I’ve chucked into the forge (for science!) is absolutely staggering. I would like to take a moment and share with all of you what I’ve learned about the forge: you put 4 items in and get 1 item back.
That is all.
I have learned something different, I start with a 100 items end up with 1-3 at the end, mystic toilet best gold sink EVER.
Its exactly the same as when people go to a slot machine in Vegas with a buket full of coins and soon end up with 0. I should know, done that loads in Vegas…

The feature pack is indeed the largest number of changes to hit GW2 in one go, since launch day.
I also think overall its great, games, especially MMO’s need those big shake ups every 6-12 months.

We removed glory and match reward chests early to prevent a flood of PvE players from coming into PvP just to fill their wardrobe. While the our team would LOVE everyone playing PvP, some super smart economist peopleguys said it would have negative repercussions on the in-game economy or something.
It’s really unfortunate that we had to do this, but we explored other ways of handling it and nothing was really feasible except holding wardrobe back until the next feature pack (which also meant holding back lots of other PvP changes) or removing some of the PvP rewards for a month.
Edit: Tune in this Friday for news about the next phase of the new reward system.

I play all aspects of the game, PvE, WvW and sPvP. You could easily have made spvp as rewarding as running dungeons in terms of gold until the new rewards system was put in place. That would not of affected the economy, just given players a choice between run a dungeon, play a spvp match.
Also, well I congratulate Anet on employing a economist to avoid hyper inflation and items becoming worthless. I would balance your economists views vs player retention.
Since glory was removed I have played 0 games of spvp because there is no rewards, no point me playing. I will NOT be stepping foot into spvp until a proper reward system is in place with stuff that I desire, I need a goal to work towards, atm I have no goal, nothing to incentivise me to play spvp.
O.o Ok. Running a dungeon, and playing a hotjoin match should in no way yield equal rewards. The PvP reward system is not intended to act as an alternative farming method for PvE players. A PvP reward system is to grant PvP exclusive players or players whom otherwise play PvP primarily a means to acquire aesthetic and functional rewards. The threat of you not stepping foot into sPvP is hardly a priority concern, imo. If you’re not PvPing for the sake of PvPing, and trying to make a buck in the quickest way possible, you should stick to PvE and WvW please.
Why not hotjoin requires more skill then speed running the exact same dungeon for the 1000th time, honestly I bet some players could run dungeons blindfolded by now.
But I meant have only that level of reward in this ‘interim’ period ie from the day glory was removed till the 15.4.14.
Obviously winning a team game would equal 1 dungeon run in gold. 3/4 that amount for solo queue. 1/3 that for hotjoin.
Seems perfectly reasonable to me until the new rewards come in.

Having multiple sets means you won’t after move stuff via your stash to other characters, which is actually a good quality of life bonus.
I know I hate (can’t be bothered) moving my unlimited gathering tools between my 8 characters anyway…
