BIG PROBLEM…
They are ugly and most players wouldn’t be seen dead in them!
Plus Anet not my favourite games developer atm…
I believed the leaked notes, several days ago, so left already…
Really, really I am not kidding around or going to slink back in days, weeks or months from now, this patch was the last straw for me:-
MY RANGER IS DEAD TO ME!
I SURRENDER ANET!
YOU WIN, I WILL NEVER PLAY RANGER AGAIN IN GW2.
Holds hand up, my Ranger has quit, not playing him ever again…thinking of quitting GW2 fullstop…
Lost ALL confidence in developers…
ambient daily?…
1,100 hours here, no afk’ing and usually move around with speed buffs/use wps all the time, also I always have objectives to complete but am easily distracted by something/one in game…
Looks like a win for Elementalist…based on both surveys…
We all certainly heard about it when RTL got nerfed…
Can be very loud your average mage…
I know its a popular suggestion but it would not work, in the long run, you would just end up fighting the same 4 servers that yo yo every week…
A handicapping system of some sort is the best answer, then every server can fight every other server, no restrictions at all…
Do it around the in game scoring system, so its obvious to all players…
Either a starting advantage in points total…
Or +x points per tick for the weaker servers…
The most important part of the system would be all 3 servers knowing they have a real chance at winning that week…
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
It’s RNG. A dev awhile back even stated that MF only affects drops from mobs. If I stripped my character and danced, getting 5 tickets within the first 1k coffers wouldn’t mean that was why I got them.
People who don’t have an understanding of statistics try to rationalize what they feel are patterns. In several of the other million threads like this people have posted links to these fallacies.
What if the developer is lying or that has be changed?
Or you know liked bugged? GW2 has been plagued with small bugs from day 1, no one would be surprised…
Thanks for the answers, just read the reviews on Amazon for the 1st two books and they pretty much agree with what you both said…
Ghosts of Ascalon seems to be rated the best, so I will give that a go and consider the other 2 later…
Cheers…
I would have preferred a more open-ended system too…but alias not…
If you want to play roll a guardian/mesmer, those 2 are currently the most balanced and good at everything…
Always posted after the patch is live.
No, last few times, sometime before patch arrived unless my memory is going…
I am considering buying all 3 books, is each a individual story or are they connected?
The fantasy books I like to read are by:
David Gemmel
George R. Martin
Terry Pratchett
Robert Jordan
Raymond E. Feist
Is the writing in the same league as those?
I feel very much disconnected from Guild Wars lore/story, especially as I never played GW1, so would love to get to know the lore more over a good story…
Obviously the PvP crowd like 100% free and don’t want to pay anything…don’t blame you…after having something for free for so long I would hate to pay too…
What if they introduced limited rewards but also costs?
So everyone on a winning team gets 5s per match won? But you after pay exactly the same as what PvE / WvW players to change your traits currently, which is 3-4s…you would thus actually, slowly make gold..
Would PvPers like this and changes like it to do with equipment?
Non of this is pay to win btw…because pay to win is when you can spend real $ to improve your stats…
The moment people need to start paying for gears in PvP is when it becomes pay2win. Rich players will be able to change spec to flavor of the month while nerfed builds have to sit back and suffer.
The whole point of the auto-leveling and free access to everything is to give everyone a equal footing.
I agree with you completely…
However, a nasty side effect of having everything for free, is pvp players are constantly pushing for the meta to be changed, which is then applied across the entire game…
Also, poor/time limited players in PvE & WvW are being unfairly nerfed and having to make do with inferior builds just like you say would happen in PvP…
So is the PvP player a V.I.P. in GW2? Royalty perhaps? Untouchable by the developers? A special case?
I am confused (or perhaps I am using irony/sarcasm here, this is the internet folks you after point those things out or they go over peoples heads…)
Without queues you would have something worse than lag…complete disconnection…when the server blows up or has a melt down…
There already is a bug/exploit that players do which can cause mass random disconnects due to server overload and it not being able to cope…
Can be very useful if your losing a map and want to roll the dice to see if you can get rid of some of the opposition players…
The meta changed barely since release in PvE. It is still zerk-gear. The only thing you have to change are the traitlines and mabye the weapons. It’s not a big deal tbh. That’s costing you some silvers and for a new exotic weapon + sigil about 10g.
I agree on the PvE meta, its zerker gear and always has been…
But, what about WvW? You go all zerker in there and you will die 2-3 secs into any fight…you after have a certain amount of toughness/healing/vitality to avoid that…
The PvE players can pay because they actually earn gold for doing stuff. PvP-Players don’t. So what you want from the PvP-Population? Farming PvE to unlock PvP-gear?
You must be silly.
I want the tPvP meta to stop effecting the PvE & WvW meta…is that hard to understand?
If that happens then continue to play for 100% free and grinding your glory…
Also, you can earn a little gold from unidentified dyes, when you open them up, if one is a rare you can sell it on TP…I am sure that wasn’t intended and is a bug…after all your not mean’t to earn 1 copper in PvP, right?

I like this feature in D3, its very useful for the player too…
It looks very cool too, I like how Blizzard implemented this, its also very fast, seems to update every few minutes…
On the D3 forums, there is a kind of a private option in that you can show your starcraft or wow profile instead, so other Diablo players can’t see your gear…

Empathetic Fighter said:
And by saying PvP should be payed to have the gear, you clearly don’t understand the philosophy of PvP in general.
I think you answered this in your previous sentence:-
Empathetic Fighter said:
What you basically want is that this game offers you everything, max stats etc, without any effort to do it?
Because the only crowd in GW2 to get EVERYTHING for free and for zero effort is the sPvP & tPvP crowd, everyone else pays…
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
I’m 100% sure you’re a troll.
I understand your mainly a PvP player and want it to remain 100% free and eveything across the game to be balanced around it, so you are trying to close this discussion down…
You failed to check my edit.
That I like!
I have no problem at all, if sPvP and tPvP is kept 100% separate from PvE & WvW and has 0 influence of those 2 parts of the game…
You definitely have no idea how unrewarding PvP is compared to PvE.
That’s why i swtiched to PvE now and i can see myself farming 10g in about an hour. So prob in a week you have your gear together and you’re done. What’s the prob?
How many laurels do u get in a week? Whats the cost of a ascended amulet?
I have played loads of PvP…
So everytime a new meta comes out its fine that we after farm 10g, is that what your saying, PvE & WvW players are unimportant? That they are expected to grind, grind and grind abit more?
sPvP and PvE in this game are two totally different things.
If they are 2 different things why are balance changes out of sPvP applied across PvE & WvW?
If sPvP & tPVP were completely cut off from PvE & WvW then there would be no problem…but skill/trait changes always come from PvP and applied to the whole game…so its not separate…
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
They don’t earn any gold doing sPvP.
Tough, neither do WvW players after paying for upgrades/siege…
They will after get there feet dirty in PvE like WvW players after do…
If made to pay they would only after do the PvE daily to afford trait changes/laurel cost. 20 mins wouldn’t be a big deal but would allow them to understand the pain PvE & WvW players have on a greater scale…
PvP’ers have it far too easy atm…
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
Currently, PvP players get 100% free trait/equipment…
So when a new meta comes out, in 5-10 mins, they can sort out there new builds and be back to playing what they love PvP…
PvE/WvW players face huge costs in gold/badges of honour/dungeon tokens/laurels to change builds/adapt to new meta, sometimes by the time we get it spot on the meta changes again.
ITS UNFAIR…
I think PvP players should start paying a gold cost for trait changes and 1 laurel per equipment changes. Then they would know how PvE & WvW players feel. Only when the pain is shared will you understand…
PvP has a 100% monopoly on all new changes to skills/traits, 100% say in which classes get nerfed atm…PvE& WvW players have no say at all on how there characters get changed. Skill/traits/nerfs are currently applied across the entire game even through they are balanced only around tpvp…
Sure the content updates is vastly in favour of PvE…
Finally, PvP players can adapt to the new changes in 5-10 mins, because there trait/gear is 100% free. PvE and WvW players could take months until there equipment is spot on again, it will also cost loads in gold/BoH/dungeon tokens/laurels.
I think PvP should start paying for trait changes with gold and a gold cost added to new equipment, so they pay the cost of balance too…
I feel ripped off about the cash shop coffers
Join the club…its a very big club…formed back in the day of 2012 when the first RNG boxes came out…
Goggles are a cool fashion accessory?
How many people in the real world outside of a beach/swimming pool do you see wearing goggles? Zero?
Goggles are a utility item, too ugly for fashion…
My suggestion would be for Anets team responsible for designing clothes/armour would be to watch some of the worlds fashion shows on youtube…then we would perhaps get some good armour/items…
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
Well, I have played quite a bit of Gw2 PvP myself and its okay, but gets boring fairly quickly…I just use it as a quick way to get a lauel when short of time atm…
But, I am starting to HATE PvP because its ruining PvE & WvW…
Well judging by how often Rangers/Engineers get nerfed, those 2 classes are seriously OP…
There’s currently half a dozen skritt in Queensdale with coffers containing tickets and they are worried in case word gets out…
This is a blonde answer btw…
It was advertised as a ‘major balancing’ patch…
My description would be, ‘tinkering around the edges and nerfing builds players actually like’…
Traits in particular are disappointing, there were loads of unused/useless traits before, after still loads of useless/unused traits…
Necros are the only class that can be excited by those changes…
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
One of the best things you can do is find a buddy, 2 should be enough with decent builds and flip camps across all 4 maps…points wise its probably the best thing you can do for your server, if there is not many of you. Obviously you can’t do it during primetime because of queues…
Obviously be clever about it, always get the ones near your spawning point first and constantly jump wp to wp were you think you can have the most effect. Obviously, because they is only a few of you spec for high movement speed, any skills that will let you escape from a zerg…
Teeth removal?…
I have learned to avoid stepping through portals in WvW, 8/10 you end up dead!
How about Kas & Marge mini’s?
Now they would be popular on the gemstore, or as a very rare/limited time drop or (dare I say it)…RNG box item…
All you Necros out there make sure you bring stability along…lol
Also, you Rangers/Warriors with your massive condition removal bring that too…lol
A gold per run, huh? And here I thought Anet didn’t want us to make money in this game. At least that’s what I keep reading.
I wouldn’t get too excited until you see how long a run takes you…
Probably take an hour’ish…
So COF1 still miles better, gold farming wise?
Btw what do people think about the armour?
All looks fairly ugly to me…
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
Isn’t gear grind alive and well in GW2?
But instead of grinding for new equipment stats, you grind for a endless tonic or a weapon ticket or supply crate or a mini or a jetpack or another back item? Seems like a endless grind to me…
This is how popular PvP is:

Balancing the game around the part of the game fewest people play is just crazy…
The AC change was such a MASSIVE FAILURE, I think they abandoned the idea of, ‘phase 2’. Basically 80% of people who ran AC just give it up after the changes…
I personally would prefer the dungeon team to implement the idea of using fractals to replay, ‘old temp content’, so the molten forge dungeon would with slight changes become a fractal.
I don’t think they could go wrong with that, as its already effectively been tested by the players and the have given feedback on what they would like to see again.
I would not mind the Mad Kings Dungeon being made into a fractal as well…that was a good dungeon/boss fight.
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
I like the idea of handicapping as well…
It would also allow complete random matchups to happen…
Either the weaker servers starting with a points lead or the +x with a tick would be far fairer than what we have now and every server no matter what there wvw population or night capping would have a equal chance at winning at the start of every week.
Just holding a tower for a few hours could sway it so the weaker server just won the matchup…
Under the current system the best servers are underperforming when faced with weaker opposition because its no challenge, its like having some sneaky time off cause you have easy opposition. Well the weaker servers are just giving up at the start of the week when they know they have no chance.
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
They are going to double the chances of a skin/ticket from a RNG box to celebrate, so from no chance to 1 in a million…
Necros could well be getting big buffs soon in a major patch on the 25th June, so I would check that out and choose then…
Your supporting lots of people with the money you buy gems with…
Ultimately its the shareholders of (NCSoft) who took the risk to invest in producing video games, a lot of MMO’s in particular…
But before they get the final profits, if there is any, it pays the wages of loads of different people developers, programers, pr people, legal people, cleaners, security etc…
Just like any other company you buy goods/services from…
A possible solution however, could be limiting 1 server to no more than the number of players the other 2 servers have put together…
So if B has 125 & C has 200, A is only allowed 325 maxium. At least then B&C know if they make a alliance they can have a fair fight with the big server…
“You have been transferred to Lions Arch.” – because a player from other servers just left WvW. If you happened to be in combat you will get armor damage penalty. Any loot bags on ground will be left behind.
Servers B and C can agree not to log to WvW except during a short period at night to capture everything – then for rest of the week server A can’t go to WvW to recapture nodes.
No thank you.
On your 1st point once your in, your in, no kicking out to LA…this already happens atm…if a large zerg transfers into a map at once taking it over the allowed limit they still get in…lots of servers exploit this bug/feature to outnumber there opponents.
As a rather unpleasant side effect however, it can cause anyone on that map to disconnect from the game…
On your second point, never going to happen for one but also you could have low miniums, like 20 or something that could always join no matter what enemy numbers were…
The top tiers can still face hours long queues for maps at times so there is no way Anet is going to want to make those queues longer…
I like the gist of Luthans idea, atm no one really understands how the points scored transfer into server position…atm a server could be scoring 350+, in the lead but still losing because it should be beating those opponents by 400+…
Change the points scored for each for each server at reset to what they are expected to score. For example…
Reset night,
Sever A scores 0.2 per point
Server B scores 0.5 per point
Server C scores 0.7 per point
Server C may only hold a few towers, camps, 1 keep but this is better than expected and the points total will show on score that server leading…so everyone knows whats going on at just a quick glance at the in game general scoreboard…
(edited by Meglobob.8620)
Its whatever you want it to be…
For me its conquering camps, towers, keeps and stone mist castle mainly…
I liked the ‘noir’ scene and the scavenger/investigation task, especially with Marge & Kas but having watched the noir 3 times already, I thought the journal a waste of slot space so right clicked destroyed it, along with detector…
I think Anet may have been responding to our requests to replay old stuff…
Which is a nice idea but you would after give me a collectibles slot in which to place it, otherwise I am always going to destroy it along with a lot of the other useless clutter Anet dishes out…its just a ploy to get you to buy more storage space…lol
The no1 problem with limiting numbers is a lot of people won’t be able to play WvW…which would be far worse than having zergs or inbalance. As not being able to play a game is obviously the worst possible thing that can happen…
This is probably why Anet would never do this…
A possible solution however, could be limiting 1 server to no more than the number of players the other 2 servers have put together…
So if B has 125 & C has 200, A is only allowed 325 maxium. At least then B&C know if they make a alliance they can have a fair fight with the big server…
I would say Warrior personally, COF1 no problem…
Kill stuff really fast across the whole of PvE…
