I always just wait for the right color. When my server is blue, I do everything for blue (and as much as possible for the Eternal Battlegrounds), until I had all 3 colors. When there is a pesky keep/tower that’s not the right color (but usually is, because it’s close to where you spawn) I just check back every now and then.

Please free us from the hobo sacks. 8C I will be forever grateful.

I’d like to see new fur and skin colors and markings/patterns/tattoos/horns/ears added. Maybe even new tails too for Charr.

The accented i is available in the NA client. I have one toon with the accented i in it. Easiest way is to copy/paste it from somewhere else into the name creation.

I think letters like ä are also able to be used (haven’t tried them) and I know you can do Æ because i have that on one of my toons as well.

ä, ë, ï, ü and ö are allowed yes, the proof being in my signature (my character Fäy). That ì should be allowed too, since it’s a normal European letter like all other accents. It must be a bug.

I do think there can be issues with accented characters, including a problem deleting since you have to type in the exact name. That is one of many reasons I never use special letters in any online character. But that’s my personal preference.

I can switch from the European to the American keyboard layout with a hotkey. If you have a keyboard you can do this typing accents isn’t a problem. Turn on the European keyboard layout and type ’ and a for á, ` and a for à and " and a for ä for example.

Good and enjoyable tasks and achievements should not rely on RNG. Saying that I could get an armour piece by RNG is the worst possible way to acquire it. Remember that those are account bound, so the blessed people can’t even put some on the TP.

Like others said, going to the Silverwastes map to have fun with the events should be the prime directive, using exploits, bugs and super efficiency by tagging events should not.
Players will use those methods because the LS parts in Silverwastes do not allow them to rely on the devs to stick to a concept.
(e.g. Caith’s Blossom => suddenly appeared at a vendor and lost its exclusivity by completing Echoes achievements.)
Now they changed the way we can get armour pieces by denying us an option that was previously possible.

Oh no, I’m actually not very lucky usually (not more than any others). For example, I still haven’t seen any fossilized insects. But yes, I agree that hoping for a drop is one of the most inefficient ways to get the skin.

Bug: When you go to the trainer in Queensdale the game thinks you’re a low level character and won’t let you buy traits (even when you’re level 80).

You don’t need to farm anything. Pick a skin you like and go after it. Or start working on ascended armor and weapons if that’s your thing. Or do neither and maybe check out the new story, whatever floats your boat.

As the title says. I’d swear I bought traits at the trainer before (before the september feature patch) but now it won’t let me on my newest character. He says I need more experience even though I reached level 80 2-3 weeks ago… Interesting is that my other (older) level 80 characters are able to buy traits.

So what do I do to be able to buy traits from the trainer?

Oh don’t take the forums too seriously. People tend to overdramaticize everything here and generally when people are happy about something they won’t come to the forums to post it.

My advice to you is that don’t take a class just because it’s newbie friendly. You’ll only be a newbie for a short while, so being stuck with a class you don’t like just because it’s newbie friendly won’t do you good in my opinion. People will probably suggest a warrior or something and let me tell you if I started out playing a warrior I’d have quit this game long ago (I really don’t like warriors XD).

You said you like healers, while this game doesn’t have any healers the guardian provides very good support (NOT in the forum of tanking as there are no tanks – there isn’t even any way to hold aggro, but in the form of providing team buffs and having heals and skills that protect allies), and both engineer (stealth, heals, damage increasing buffs) and elementalist (damage increasing buffs, heals, swiftness) also good have good support capabilities.

Guardian is more easy to get used to and more fool friendly, while elementalist and engineer are considered one of the most complex classes because they have access to more skills than the rest. But honestly you’ll get used to elementalist and engineer soon enough (I can know it, I started with an elementalist and I came out fine).

For race, just pick the one you like best. There is no best race or any advantage over picking a certain race (but obviously asuras are the cutest so pick that one : D ).

Megaserver lumps everyone from all servers together into once instance. Because of the large amount of people, there are usually multiple instances of the same map. The system makes sure people from the same server get put together where possible and party members are also taken into account. It’s possible by moving to a different instance by partying someone of another instance and then joining theirs by rightclicking their icon.

Yes, elementalists offer good support (in the form of fields, boons and CC). Their heals are good too. When you use staff you have access to 2 water fields and as an Ele you have plenty of blast finishers to blast them, not to mention your team mates can blast them aswell ofcourse. I can’t tell you anything about PvP myself.

Yes Tarnished Coast is still the RP server for the US, Piken Square is the RP server for the EU.

I see where you are coming from OP. It is always annoying to see mistakes like these in a game. I always cringe in any game with ridable horses because they never ever get any of it right, not to mention that no, horses don’t randomly whinny ALL. THE. TIME.

That is a network error. With who are you trying to form a party? Are they from US when you’re from EU (or vice versa)?

Yes if you’re in a level 2 area all level 80 characters are downleveled to 2 and when you click on them it says their level is 2 (I think there is a downwards pointing arrow next to it to show they’re downleveled but I’m not entirely sure at the moment).

I like it and I’d buy it if I had a character that would go well with it (like a female human Guardian or Warrior). The clipping is actually not bad if you’re used to charr and their armor.

I’d rather have a dungeon tracker ingame. :c This does nothing to solve my problem of not remembering what paths of which dungeons I already ran and which characters have story for what dungeons.

Mesmer twice around level 20: 2 times sylvari and then finally settled on a norn
Ranger also twice around level 20 : Two times norn and ended up with a human
Engineer once at level 40ish: From charr to an asura
Necro once at level 10ish: From charr to sylvari

And I had an asura Warrior that I deleted but I’ll probably end up with an asura Warrior anyway (since I’ll have all 8 classes to 80 some day).

Not rerolling doesn’t mean I’ve always been happy with my characters, however. I used 3 total makeover kits on my sylvari Necro, one on my asura Ele, one on my charr Guard and two hair kits on my asura Engi. I have 2 characters (human Ranger and norn Mesmer) I never changed (yet. XD They’re the newest so who knows).

I’d continue leveling the classes you already have to 80 so you can get a feel for each and decide what you want to level again.

If you can’t think of a nice last name you can also just not use a last name. None of my characters have last names as I think it’s silly.

Those skins are there for people who played GW1 and worked for them.

If GW1 servers are turned off at some point then maybe a solution should be found but as long as GW1 is still up if people want them that much they’re free to pick GW1 up and get them the same way everyone else did.

Oh I don’t mind working for them but not in another game I don’t want to play. They could make it so that you have to do the quests or whatever it is you have to do in that other game in this game and then you get some sort of token, which you can then use in the Gem Store together with gems for the skins.

I hope they’ll do it some time. The people who played GW1 can have them for free and have them free to apply, the ones that didn’t play that game can pay for it and get it too and have to spend charges. Everyone happy.

I’d like to get me some HoM skins but I’m not going to play a completely different game that is 10 years old, outdated, doesn’t seem like a fun game to me and as far as I heard isn’t even a MMO.

It’s a controversial option that ANet added after Megaservers, there seem to have been alot of players having kitten about seeing other languages and going all “racist” (Don’t know the correct term, since citizenship doesn’t limit to races).

The option should be by default be disabled, but I dunno about now, since it was enabled when it was put into game..

It’s enabled by default, meaning people who don’t know about this feature (99,99% of new players and player who don’t look at patch notes and what not) will not see your chat if they have a different language client as you. Which would not be so bad if all language servers weren’t all lumped together into 1 mega server. Extremely frustrating.

I think you can’t swap weapons with no 2nd set equipped.

Be sure not to join any LFGs that have requirements (e.g: x class only, exp only, speed, rush, zerk, x level+, x AP+, no noobs, etc) and you should be fine, actually. I have newbies in my runs all the time and noone bats an eye. Have you tried joining a dungeon or are you just scared of what you heard about them? Because it’s not as bad as you say.

And if all else fails, make your own LFG and it should fill up in a matter of time.

Humans: They’re very nice, both male and female.
Sylvari: Again, pretty cool!
Charr: The male hair is epic, all of it. I want them for my female charr. The female charr ones are…Not my taste. Too flat and unmane like.
Asura: Pretty cute, but compared to the ones we got last time they’re so-so.
Norn: Ok for females, and I don’t like any of the male ones at all.

Well you could follow your own advice then, since you say you liked Ranger the most. Rangers are actually fine for dungeons, as long as you don’t bear bow (and use Frost Spirit and Spotter). It’s just a stigma rangers have. Necro on the other hand is indeed less suited for dungeons, but rangers are fine really.

You need each piece recipe and a recipe for the insignia/inscription. The piece recipes are gotten from those locked boxes or sold on the TP. The prices and quantity you see when you’re just browsing are actually a bug/glitch, if you click on each item you see that the actual orders are not tens of gold but only 10-30 silver each. I guess the TP has issues with updating the prices? As far as I know the isigna and inscription cannot be bought on the TP (at least I couldn’t find them) but can be bought for Geodes and gold in Dry Top at a NPC.

Just do all parts that your world owns and wait until your world owns the spots you’re missing. It just takes patience.
