Where would i get exotics with karma? i have around 37k but i understand that its a low number when it comes to karma and may not be able to afford one. I don’t know what you mean by aiming for berzerkers i was just told Crucible of Eternity had the gear i would want.

I suggest you decide what stats you want first then, if you don’t know what you’re going for. If you have issues with dying for example, I wouldn’t go for Berzerker as that’s glass cannon gear.

You can do Fractals without the Mastery by the way.

Well the person who leave when they see a newbie are the same people who leave when the group wipes once or when someone messes up anyway.

Thief has almost no defenses/condi clear/heals – even less than ele. Atleast on ele when you’re hit hard you can heal/condi cleanse/apply protection or an aura, if you’re hit hard on Thief it’s too bad so sad. As a thief you should avoid getting hit in the first place with stealth, blinds and evades which in my opinion is more tricky than ele. That’s just my opnion atleast, I gotta admit that I really don’t like thief while ele is my main so I may be biased. If it looks like a fun class to you give it a shot, I always say that fun should come before easy and safe – you’ll learn eventually.

You can also get exotics on the trading post, with karma or with WvW badges. Are you aiming for Berzerker’s? Then you can also do Citadel of Flame for tokens (and Arah, but that dungeon takes ages). Citadel of Flame path 1 is the easiest path in the game.

If you’re in a level 10 area (such as Queens Dale) you’re back brought to level 10 (“down leveled”), so you don’t one shot everything in sight. This is the reason you can get your behind handed to you in the level 35 dungeon even though you’re level 80.

It takes a few days for you to get access to the trading post when you buy the game.

Thief is also a really hard class to survive on. If you want easy pick warrior, guardian or ranger. Those are much easier to get a hang of.

Also, are you sure you have all exotics? Those make so much difference.

I’d interpret that as tht it doesn’t matter which of the 3 traits you pick for that section.

Tanky: Warrior, Guardian, Necro
Normal: Ranger, Engi

The box copies (normal edition) are already in stores. I got one a few days ago from Game Mania and already added it to my GW2 account, also already received my character slot and pre-purchase title. It’s 45 euros, so a bit more pricey than the digital one which is 40 euros, but I really wanted a box copy.

GW1 does not have skin,s in that game at all . only armor and i have not looked but iam not sure if there is even skins from GW1 in this game even at all. and i can tell you honestly by any means that it is not in fact dreadfully boring as you might think it is . you will have more fun there then a bucket of kittens getting into cat nip for the first time even more so when you do your first in game event . you just might get more hooked on it . like the cat,s with there cat nip :P

I ws talking about the skins you get in GW2 when you complete things in GW1, I heard they’re not too hard to get and they look pretty nifty.

I’m affraid not, the graphics are outdated, I heard you can’t move while casting and you can’t jump, and that it’s not a reall MMO because you only see people in towns? That doesn’t sound fun to me at all, sadly.

What’s wrong with just playing in English? Clearly you can type/read English.

I looked at your post history and it seems that you have been complaining about rude people since you started. I have no idea how you managed to get so many rude people around you, I rarely ever see rude people and when I see them I see them in PvP or big meta events. If you think GW2 has a rude community you have never played a F2P MMORPG or something like LoL (my at-the-time-boyfriend made me try it, what a horrible place that was), this is by far the best MMORPG community I’ve ever seen.

Have you tried making your own dungeon groups? I never ever run speedruns/metaruns/exp runs/80 only runs and I always make my own groups, they fill within minutes.

The commander you joined was a mean one. Don’t let 1 commander ruin the fun for you. I recommend trying EOTM, most lowbies go there and you’ll feel more useful there.

Open-world PvE (besides the big meta events) should be troll free. I’ve never ever seen a troll there the whole time I’ve been playing (and I’ve been playing a long time). Sometimes there are trolls in LA, but for the rest I’ve yet to see any.

The PvP part, yes I can see why you think that.

At first only the Deluxe and Ultimate edition got a slot. However, due to communicty uproar Anet changed this to 1 slot for Standard and 2 slots for Deluxe and Ultimate if you pre-purchase (meaning that if you pre-order or buy after launch you won’t get the “extra” slot).

If you are level 80 don’t worry about it, you have enough hero points (the resource you’re speaking off – they used to be called skill points) to unlock everything. If you’re not level 80, just pick the traits and skills you like(d for before the change) and do hero challenges (used to be skill challenges) and level up to gain more points.

Don’t speak for a whole group of people just because you don’t like playing with others in parties. I’m an introvert and I like socialisation and playing in parties. Introvert does not equal anti-social or asocial or someone who wants to be alone all the time.

So I got stuck with people who didn’t speak English in a dungeon run. Again. I would love to see an English flag option added to the LFG so I can filter to run with English speaking people only. I see there is an American option but since I’m on an EU server it doesn’t make sense.

Disclaimer: I don’t hate non-English speaking people (heck, English is my second language) but I’d prefer to just be able to play with people I can understand.

Have you tried d/d Ele? Because that’s pretty much what you described.

Why would you farm one dungeon? You only get the one gold the first run per account per day. It’s more worthwhile to do the fast easy dungeons 1 time each.

To add to that, you also cannot salvage anything bought with badges of honor.

PvE: You can go anywhere. There is no giant arrow spoon feeding you where to go, just pick anything you’d like to do and go do it.

Dual wield as in carry 2 weapons? Every single proffession can do that. Or do you mean dual wield as in carry 2 of the same weapons? Warrior (axe, sword), Elementalist (dagger), Necromancer (dagger), Engineer (pistol), Ranger (axe), Mesmer (sword) and Thief (pistol, dagger) can do that. That’s every proffession besides Guardian, haha.

So if you like conditions go Necro. They also have minions they can summon. If you like the clones go Mesmer. Elementalist also has 2 summons, but they’re not very important for the class itself. Ranger gets it’s pet, which is also some sort of summon, Guardian can summon spirit weapons and Engineer can summon turrets.

I can’t say anything about sPvP as I rarely play that, but have you tried WvW?

Just adding that if you want to complete the personal story you must not run a path of the dungeon Arah (which is explorable mode), but story. Story has no paths (just 1) and is 1000000x easier than explorable. If you run a path you will not complete the personal story. For story mode people are usually much more relaxed because 90% are casuals or newbies, as people don’t farm those because of the relatively bad rewards.

Why do things seem focused on endgame? o-o Leveling is half the fun.

Oh, haha well I never heard about the word vault (not a Native English speaker so not sure if it means anything in English or if it’s a name). A normal player bank has a bag icon (when you hover over the icon on the map it says Banker) and the guild bank has a chest icon on the map (which says Guild Banker).

That area is for guild missions and will open up when you get a guild to go there and start a mission. You never need to go into a guild mission area to unlock a Point of Interest/Skill Point/Vista (sometimes you just have to run to the door, but you never need to go in). I’m looking at my completed map and I don’t see any skill points there. Are you sure there is no other skill point to be completed anywhere else? The little pointer at the right top of your screen may point you to the right place (especially if you disable Personal Story and Events in the Options tab so it only points at things on the map to unlock), or you can lookup the map on Google and carefully compare it with yours.

What exactly do you mean with vault? A guild? You can find guilds in map chat or the guild section on this forum. I believe (some) servers also have dedicated sites where guilds may recruit.

Spears are a two-handed weapon and for underwater only, so no you can’t use a spear and shield on land, but yes you can use spear underwater and equip a shield and a mace, sword or axe on land.

Dynamic events are the main thing in the maps, hearts are just little side quests that point you to areas where dynamic events may appear. But if you want to take out dynamic events from the little pointer at the top of your screen, then you can do so in the Options tab.

No idea if the names were supposed to be references to people/things because I never heard of any of the names, so I just picked what I thought sounded best.

For open world PvE they’re great! They help you fight, offer some neat utilities and get the aggro off of you. For dungeons they are bad as they’re one-shotted by most things in there, leaving you with no utility skills and on your own. But dungeons are worries for later, by the time you get to those you’ll have enough skill points for alternative skills to swap to for dungeons.

Just have your friend delete his characters and move to a server that’s not full, so you can join him.

How exactly do you get 25 stacks and have a fleshreaver spawn? No matter how many mobs I kill it stays stuck at 24 stacks and nothing spawns. Is it bugged or am I missing something?

So you basically want the traditional quest givers that you have to run to, have them tell the same story over and over again “oh no, the wolves are killing my friends again, like very single day. Kill 10 out of the 1000 you see out there and we’ll be fine lol”, then do what you’re told and then you have to return to them for a reward? No thanks.

Old characters were grandfathered when they changed the qay you acquire traits. Old characters have them all unlocked automaticly while new ones pay gold + skillpoints or have to unlock them one by one by doing certain events/challenges in the world (like defeating boss x or completing map y). So depending on if that sounds fun to you or not, I’d say keep the old characters if you like the race/profession combo.

Characters also get a birthday gift for every year they are “alive” (I don’t know how else to put it xD). Every year you get a different gift, so maybe you’d like to keep atleast one for that (but honestly the gifts are not worth it if you hate all of your characters).

I don’t think there is anything you should or shouldn’t do before the expansion comes out. They’re changing the trait system again, but I’d say just jump in and have fun now as it might still be months away.

My personal opinion (I main ele, so beware of the ele bias).

+ Lots of AoE’s
+ High DPS
+ Best skill animations in the game
+ Great in all game modes
+ Great heals, protection, stability/invulnerability and stun breaks
+ Permanent swiftness and very mobile with skills like FGS 3 and 4
- Squishy
- No good condition build if you’d fancy that
- No weapon swap

Necro
+ MINIONS! My Necro is a Minion Master
+ Awesome condition build(s)
+ Lot’s of AoE
+ Highest HP in the game (with a second HP bar)
+ Weapon swap
- Besides the HP bar no decent way of protecting yourself (lack of stability and stun breaks in my opinion)
- Really plain animations
- Great in everything but dungeons (which I happen to play a lot)
- Minions suck in dungeons and bug out sometimes
- One of the slowest classes (just one step above Mesmer)

The main reason I like Necro is because of the minions (I really, REALLY like the minions). I like everything about ele.

Dyes are the only random thing I can think of out of all crafts, and only when you try to craft them yourself. Food and the other boon items (oils, crystals, stones) are never random, you get exactly what you chose to create (e.g. blackberry pie).

If you want to feel a sense of accomplishment, craft an unidentified dye of any spectrum, sell that and then buy the dye you want (you can probably buy more than one with the gold you get from the unidentified dye). Or when you get doubles, put them in the guild bank for others to use or give them away to strangers.

I’ve had this issue ever since I joined another (my 5th) guild. :C It used to be that I could see all 4 guild chat but not the new one, but now I left one of the old 4 guilds and I can’t see chat of any of the guilds anymore.

You can’t. Make-up is stuck to the face you picked. Sometimes you see 3 times the same face option but with different make-up/scars/wrinkles/details, though (usually the make-over kit-only faces have this)

Bugged for me too. My other 4 guilds work but the last one I joined just now doesn’t.

Have you seen the 1 silver dyes on the Trading Post? Most colors are actually below gold, but yes I agree some really pretty ones are pretty pricey eversince the chance.

AC/CW/TW/CoF/CoE/Arah/HotW/FotM or Fractals/SE are all dungeons.
Karma: The pink stuff you get from doing for example, events. You can spend it on gear (it goes until level 80 exotic and has a few stat types to choose from), a RNG box, Obsidian Shards (which are used for Ascended and Legendary gear)
WvW badges: Currency you get from playing WvW (see below). You can buy basic skins or gear with it (exotic armor and weapons and ascended trinkets, paired with Laurels – see below)
Laurels: Currency you get for logging in. You can buy ascended trinkets, skins, minis crafting materials and other goodies with it.
RNG means random number generator, it refers to something being random. A RNG box is a box that has a chance to drop all kinds of stuff: Minis, boosters, dyes, you name it.
Exotic gear is the second highest grade of gear there is. You can do all content besides high levels FotM with it and it’s pretty easy to get.
Ascended is the best gear in the game (also called BiS – Best in Slot). It’s expensive and only a little bit better than exotic but it allows you to do high levels FotM.
Legendary comes only in weapons and has the same rarity/quality as Ascended but it has a fancy skin and allows you to swap stats at any time. It’s also extremely expensive
WvW is a 3 server battleground, press B.
sPvP is an equilized capture node battleground (press the swords icon at the top of your screen, I don’t know the short cut).
Stacking means standing all together (usually done in melee range of a mob). This way you share boons and ensure that the mobs aren’t spread all over the place, so you can easily kill them in a dungeon.

- My favorite unlocked title is current Veteran because it shows you have been there for a while.
- If I could have any title, I’d love to have Grand Artisian. It sounds fancy!
- I’d respect players displaying Yakslapper. :P
- Any of the GW1 titles. Other game, never played, don’t care.
- To create a title myself…“The Artist” or “Artist” for…Getting all dyes in the game maybe?

It’s a MMO, you miss things when you aren’t there so you should have expected that.

That being said, yes it would be great if they could somehow bring back LS1, because the more content the better.

Charges are available in the game, you don’t need to spend any money to get them.

Both thief and engi are on welcome in dungeon i don’t know why don’t ask me cuz ppl made it that way and they more like pvp class.

Otherwise just go with Ranger they are king of soloing in open world pve content they have more than what you want except dungeon like thief and engi BUT dungeon problem can be solved if you run with friend or guildie.

Thief, engi and ranger are all fine in dungeons. Why do you think they’re not?
