Full zerker in WvW for warrior is in not a single circumstance best. Not even close, like I stated before, there is no room in WvW for zerker warriors.
Stats considering to aim for:
42% crit chance (with furry)
2k+ power
2.8k+ armor (I prefer even more)
22k health (24k+ with guardian stacks)
Dump rest into crit damage, try to boost power as high as possible first tho.
They should make a warrior questionniary before you could post here to avoid threads like this. First do your research than make a thread before making a fool out of yourself.
If anything, they should make a range decrease on the Rush.
I agree that the warrior might be strong, but I can’t really give my honest opinion on them. I played 2000+ hours on my warrior and got over 1.5k hours in WvW with him. So yea, I know my warrior better than anything else and I am really skilled with him. So it is normal I win 95%+ of my solo fights and many of my 2vs1 aswel.
Friend of mine stopped playing mesmer because he never lost a fight, other friend owns everything and everyone on a thief, he kitten his own build to give him more of a challange. They both have 1500-2000+ hours on those. So yea, warrior is strong, but don’t ask me if they are OP.
What are your thoughts about thief? You got one? I just made one and for some reason it dagger/pistol was so freaking easy. Blind destroys melee opponents, Poison on auto attack(deals also heavy dmg) destroys healers, so many cap closers, stealth, can go 22+k hp without loosing too much dmg, don’t need weapon swapping thanks to ini system, can spam freaking strong skills. I mean, thief is so freaking easy and so good in 1vs1. I still think mastering it takes weeks or so.
Thief is easiest class to play and get results with. When you master it, he’ll become boring to play because you will win everything and even go 1vs5 with confidence. Yea it is a faceroll class and only fun against other skilled thiefs and maybe mesmers, rest is boring and easy

I can respect that. I’m a knights warrior myself (my first set ever was taugrim’s riffle build) and I’ve experimented all I can think about warriors but find myself returning to this basic build (all the money i shouldn’t have spend ahah).
Yes, I know. I got 8 armor sets, tons of weapons with different sigils/stats on them, 10+ ascended trinkets and many exotics aswel. And I like to look good, so most items have expensive skins over them. I don’t even want to calculate how many gold I have spend. But I only play warrior, so I don’t care.
I do play all my builds tho. I sometimes like to go roamin with my greatsword build or condition specc (got 2). Or 1 for zerging and 1 for front line holding very large zerg busting (like 20vs80+).
Or trolling with full zerker riffle build is fun too, to bad they suck for the rest tho :p. Still fun to see those 20k+ numbers and people are like WTF how I died?

Your post gives me a lot of hope! Will I have to use a hammer? I do recognize it’s strengths with CC, I just don’t like using the “Blunt” weapons in video games. I never have. I can handle the warrior mace skills. I think they’re interesting! Hammer on the other hand, it just doesn’t interest me at all. It feels clunky and unresponsive.
Strenght of the shout build is when used in zergs or guild raids. Mace is a great weapon, but most skills are 1 person only (stun). So it is useless in big scale fights. Hammer skills are all aoe, and gives great control when you know how to deal with blinds :p. You could run greatsword, I am reluctant to it, because hammer does outshine it. But greatsword is an Ok alternative to the hammer.
And PVT compared to clerics, yes full PVT gives to low crit chance. But if you balance power/crit chance/crit dmg out you’ll do A LOT more damage than with just clerics. I am talking about going from <1000 to >3000.
Having no ranged in WvW always bothers me. How do you/anyone else contribute to a keep defense with pure melee? Hit-and-run or some other clever tactic?

And yes, I run sword-shield/greatsword for roaming. My advice is to go full power, no condition dmg. Final trust is so tasty. Build up adre, flurry insta switch for 100b, whirlwind, rush, sword leap, new flurry and final trust. Only thing surviving that is a tanky guardian and they’ll have to blow everything for it.
ps.: thiefs will absolutely hate you, they get wrecked by this, absolutely wrecked. I killed 49 jade sea thiefs in eb today in less than an hour :p oh the rage.
I ran a lot of numbers on clerics compared to soldiers. And even after the recent patches, soldiers outshines clerics. Your healing just doesn’t scale enough to justify going clerics. And if you go clerics you’ll hit like a wet noodle and I am talking <1000.
Sure warriors aren’t the main damage dealers in a zerg, but they still do drop hard bombs. And power boost damage so enourmously well in this game. So you just can’t go without PVT.
Why take shouts over banners? 2 reasons, first banners apply regen. Regen is thrown out a lot by many other classes already. Your regen would just interfer with these and would be useless because everyone already has regen applied on them. Sure banners give nice stat boosts, but they are clunky and often not effective. Second, combine your shouts with soldier runes and you’ll remove conditions aswel. So you hand out a flat heal that stacks with ANY other type of healing, effectively highering the healing/s of your group and you clear conditions AND apply some buffs.
The most important job of a warrior is clearing of conditions of his teammates, healing is only a secundary asset of the warrior, you can see it as an ‘extra’. So he keeps the melee train mobile and clean. Second he CCs and controls the enemy with his hammer and dishes as much damage out as he can. His 3rd job is applying some boons, fgj and traited warhorn. This is what the warrior does.
ps.: there is no place for zerker warriors in WvW.

And send this to Anet sponsors and they can forget PvP ever becoming a eSport. Not that their chances are any higher now. But still, this is the lowest level of professionalism I have ever seen from a game. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior by a Dev. I hope sanctions follow for every player/Dev that crossed the line here. The full recording should provide proof to if this behavior was provoked or that the Dev was just completely out of line, destroying its own game.

If you add it up like that, yes it gives the appearance of actually being significant. But only an appearance. It’s still not worth jack.
150 power alone is huge damage increase that I can definitely see on my numbers. Doing 4vs1 is a breeze with the 3 buffs. Yes they are really significant and should be removed ASAP.
And does have influence on the outcome of a GvG, sometimes the win is obvious but not always. But yea, still GvGing. And still loving it.
I pulled the grub once on the enemy keep, was hilarious, him destroying their ACs and canons. Laughed so hard.
I agree, small adjustments could help them out. Other classes started to outshine them.
Imagine you taking down 1 gate/wall of a a keep/tower. Imagine 50 people inside which ain’t that abnormal. Imagine they all chaining their aoe into the gap. Good luck walking through and surviving

Have you never seen a zerg sacking while under continuous AoE fire?
Because there is a 5 man limit yes, if not, that zerg would get utterly destroyed by the aoe.
And yes the server also can’t handle it. But the game really ain’t designed for it, to much aoe, to big circles, to low cooldown and they deal to much damage. You simply can’t change it.
And yet I see full maps all the time…….
I don’t… especially day time is pretty empty these days (hours the hardcore ones play).
And yea I am already in my boat watching the ship sink and thinking: What a pitty. But I wont watch long, I’ll set sail to different coasts to try and find exotic new things to satisfy my thirst to proof my ingame skill.
The people that post on the forums are the one that represent many others. Many in my guild refuse to post/visit these forums, so I give them updates because I do. Meaning I represent ~50 people.
Bloodlust was a fail, absolutely no way around it.
And yes, there are less people in WvW. I noticed it aswel and the WvW discussion feels dead. Post update really really slow considering it is the weekend.
60k+ kills 1500 hours+ in WvW and fought almost every server in the EU ladder (missed maybe 2?) and haven’t see a DEV ever…

Everyone likes the map, everyone hates the buff.
Map is amazing and indeed fun to play in. Buff is rediculous and takes away the fun in fights.

Aoe cap is there not only for the servers, but also because some things will be just impossible to cap and some classes will be rediculously OP. Like Ele and ranger, no. If aoe is unlimited, make healing unlimited aswel and all the other spells. But OOPS, we are back to 0 than…
So yea aoe cap is there for a really really good reason.
I tried to hold some nodes once, we were 3-4 players, then we got zerged by blobaddon sending out 30 people to cap nodes, because they can…

I’m amazed devon havent replied to this post yet. Usually he praises those who give compliments and ignores the rest that brings up negative points about this patch.
Well, why would he praise only a fraction of the WvW community? Because we are that right? We forum posters are insignificant to the entire WvW population so not important at all. Why listen to us? Because we care about the game and therefor put our concerns regarding updates into words on the forum? No, we are the minority and don’t speak for everyone. Or that is what he says.
What he doesn’t realize is that we represent a large part of the community. Dude in mapchat on our server said GvG got what it deserves, he got bashed to kitten and dissapeared from the map within the minute. Devon forgets that a game is build on its hardcore players and not on the casuals. So he better starts listening to us. But he can keeps those plugs in his ears and roll in the small amount of feedback feeding his ego.
I think I gave him reason enough to ignore this topic aswel now. And you are a 100% right BlackDevil, tons of constructive posts out there getting ignored while pointless topics get responded in. This game needs some good community managers and fast. And way better communication with its players. That sad stream couple of weeks ago was kinda pathetic imo. But enough about that.
Not about stat buff? I killed 2 lvl 80s underneath the fire of 3 ACs without giving 1 single fluck thanks to +150 boost.
And I couldn’t stop laughing about the rediculousness of this. Ofcourse I logged after this, I don’t play a kiddies game. I am back to First Person shooters where skill is still encouraged and valued.
But you are right about the rest tho, we asked for tons of things since BETA! They always telling us they are working on it. While after a year we haven’t seen anything we asked for. When is the commander UI upgrade coming? Raid leaders, commander tags for guilds only? Why do I get blocked in mapchat as commander? Tons and tons of things they should have worked on, but patch after patch they give us things NOBODY ever asked for. The hate is spreading its roots in this one, this patch was the drop that flooded the bucket as we say.
I am playing other games till WvW gets fixed.

My favourite WvW changes:
-culling removal
-removal of orbs
-ranks to some extend (like to show off my e-8==D)
That is it, rest of the changes were abokittenely terrible. I still play WvW atm, but like an hour a day instead of the 15+ I used to do. Our guild has no raids anymore and maps look empty. Blobaddon only has blobs going during prime, they have troubles finding people during daytime, I mean blobaddon has lack of people? WvW is pretty much dead during the day.

There hasn’t been a WvW update yet that hasn’t had it’s share of detractors and prognostications of gloom, doom and the end of the game. Same thing will happen here that happened with each and every one of those… people will adapt, more likely than not the warnings will prove to be exaggerated at best and something new will be released that will be the greatest threat to WvW ever.
This one is over the top tho, adding something that got removed after tons of controversy. Insane lag all over the place without big fights going on. Gap closers don’t work anymore. OP rams (lucky it got fixed). They ruined GvG, will never forgive them for that.
Our entire guild is on stand-by till the lag gets fixed. Other guilds have quit or are playing other games aswel till the situation gets better. No queues on any map. Definitely a sign people aren’t coming anymore.
Agreed, random skill lag and people porting everytime this bloody bloodlust buffs updates. Disable it till you get a fix. Nobody wants that fail kitten anyway.

That’s true of tpvp too. To more of an extent as well. Why? Well, if the point is capped/decapped and timing / position is off, it could cost you the game. Just one mistake. Whereas in your proposed game mode, people can be somewhat out of position without penalty. In fact, there is no position. Just a court to shark around in your case.
Pretty much everything else you said applies to tpvp or any aspect of the game. Of course, the deeper your knowledge of all professions and skills, the better you do. That’s true everywhere.

Now here is where we diverge. I contend that is true in tpvp but demonstrably not true in train v train.
See, another aspect where train v train falls short is individuality. Most players are copying the commanders moves so their role is little more than that of a ranger pet following shouts. In tpvp, on the other hand, the decision of the individual does make or break the game.
You really don’t get it do you? You have obviously no idea to what a GvG is or looks like. There is a train, but you think everyone is in it? Individual skill ain’t important? Try swapping a good thief with a bad thief and look at how your group performance will drop. Same goes for swapping any good player for a bad one. It only takes 1 player to rally the entire enemy team. Yes you can make a mistake, but mistakes ain’t always deadly in tPvP either. I play a destroyer build, it is my job to seek players out of position and obliterate them. And yes, my job is a lot easier against bad teams. Because they fail at positioning themselves. Positioning is enourmously important in GvGs. It ain’t just a random bunch running around.
If you take a group with players that don’t do much more than following the commander and aren’t thinking for themselves, than you wont win any game at all against the guilds that have the good players in it.
And I played some tPvP, in my opinion that mode is easier than a GvG. There is a lot less you need to focus on and keep track off. Because there is much less damage flying around. And less players. Like Sacrx said, tPvP is more about avoiding combat than engaging it.
And tPvP has nothing do with WvW and can’t be brought up as an argument to why they can simply destroy the only thing that required skill in WvW.

The range has to stay out of focus and still try and drop as much DPS down as they can on the right location aswel, because both groups will be extremely mobile.
Than you have the destroyers running around, typically thiefs, trying to pick off the DPS of the enemy. Making it even harder for them to focus their damage.
And that ain’t all, some builds work extremely well together. Guild groups will coordinate their builds to maximize how they work together and their effectiveness. Requiring enourmous class knowledge of the players. It ain’t easy to make typically 20 builds work together and often asks hours and hours of theorycrafting of multiple players in each guild.
Calling regroups and might buffs for more damage can make or break the game. Again 1 missed elite can turn a win into a lose.
Now tell me anything in this game that could even match the complexity of a GvG.
It is doomed, but only if you read the forums. Everyone else is in que.

I just want to say, well, I don’t know how to put this without getting someone’s knickers in a bunch, but, a lot of us are glad to see this change in wvw. I just think it’s ironic that people who would post with esports tag on subreddit—who consider themselves hardcore pvp’ers—would push for such a casual gametype as their invention they call “GvG” (aka train v train).
You obiously have never did a GvG, it is more complex, exhausting and rewarding than anyother thing in this game. It might seem unorganized and chaotic to you. But some still know what is going on and how to react to it.
Tell me how is a stat increase going to benefit this game in ANY WAY! There are 0 pony advantages to it. Not for roaming, not for GvG, not for zerg busting and not for splitting up the zerg or giving the most populated server a disadvantage.
Tell my wise lord why you like this change? Give me 1 thing yes 1 thing only that will benefit from this patch. And please don’t say that the queues will be shorter…
That ain’t true, I know many guilds that have quit because of the fail patches WvW keeps seeing.
I’ll tell you what happened. GW2 started out with a great combat mechanism, they knew that and wanted to do something with it. So tPvP came to life to make it an eSport. But they failed to implement basic things and the professional gamers left. Not wanting to waist their time on something that would never happen.
While this was happening in tPvP, people in WvW were quickly picking to how amazing the combat mechanism was in bigger group play and fights. There was experimentating with tons of builds and combinations and GvGs became a fact. People doing this were not ‘just’ players. They were the hardcore kind, playing 15+ hours a day.
But Anet was bittered about their failed tPvP, they saw high incomes dissapear that would have come from their sponsors. They now realize this game will never be an eSport. So they have thrown their tactics around with a 180°. They are focussing on the casuals now.
WvW on the other hand was quickly turning too hardcore, GvGs popping up everywhere, guild groups trained together causing havoc everywhere, rolling blobs. Nothing casuals would like. And face it, WvW is 1 of the only end content things they have. So they had to adjust it to fit their casuals more. How do you do this? By buffing the stronger server with stats, in other words making it easier for the zerg/casuals to win.
So this is what you are seeing now, the numbing down of WvW. Taking out skill and the strenght of smaller guild groups holding entire borderlands on their own. Buffing the zerg. This is called, favouring the newb. It is a something you see happening to many games and it is something that causes players like me who go for fair fights and play on skill a lot of pain.
Many will quit after this patch hits, but the voids left behind by these skilled players will get filled up by casuals. Just like how Anet wants it to be.
Apparentely there is a silver legend, implying he is 1320+. And I think he is currently the highest.
I have to settle with only 360, 900 is pretty nice tho.
Thanks for sticking with us for so long FIRE, the AC buff almost made me rage quit this game. But I might join you guys after this patch hits. Going to check the damage it will do out for a couple of weeks and than decide.

Now to get on topic, I agree. Healing signet ain’t OP, think about it, 8k health/20s. Plenty of other heals do that amount. A guardian farts heals faster than he can pop them. Necro heal clears all conditions, wow I would like that one.
Just apply poison and be done with it…
ps.: dunno if it heals the same amount in tPvP, because the damage is lower there making the heal stronger. Might get nerfed in there.

Just looks like a learn to play issue to me. The build is still pretty new, people still have to learn how to counter it seems.
Challenge: name 1 competitive and active tPvP guild.
I can safely say that my server is in.
I did a race against a thief, full mobility warrior against full mobility thief. The thief won, but was a close call. So thief is still king mobility.
And yea why complain about it now when it has been in the game for 370+ days.
The biggest server can miss the most people and have the most people present on all borderlands, meaning they have an easier time capping the buffs.
+150 on all stats is a serious buff, people who remember the orbs probably know that with all the orbs, taking down 5 people solo wasn’t even a challange. Meaning duels in WvW will be worthless, roaming parties will have it either to easy or to hard.
GvG, something tons of WvW players only play for, preventing them from getting a burn out, will be impossible now. Trolls will cap the buffs making the fight uneven. And you can’t justify such a big stat boost.
Nothing good comes from a stat boost, it ruins the fun on many many levels. The mechanics of capping points is nice and removing the lake is great, don’t get me wrong. But the reward for it HAS! to change.
1. Bad idea, not only for lag, think about retal and OP ranger classes. Try taking a keep now, every choke point is insta death.

Thanks, looks like a interesting thread. And don’t think there will be many nerfs to the warrior to be honest. A few adjustments maybe, but warrior really ain’t as bad as people claim he is. I have no idea how they are in PvP, but I duel a lot in WvW. And roam tons aswel.
Thing with warrior now is that it absolutely destroys nubs, which is normal. I have seen 4 classes which cause problems for a warrior if played well. Mesmer, engineer, necro and thief. Unfortunately, there are tons of bad players out there.
Calling warriors OP is rediculous tho, it is normal for a solo roaming build, focussed on 1vs1 or 1vs2 to win fights against zerg builds or other junk running around in WvW. I fought tons of people who didn’t even dodge once, I tried to lure out their dodges till I realized they never did… No wonder people claim warrior to be too strong.
I disagree, not enough roamers on Vizu. Only thing that bothers me.
Sounds very interesting, it adds these extra ‘layers’ to WvW. Makes the game more complex and strategical instead of the mindless zerging.
Think nobody can complain if this switches in with the bloodlust buff, meaning EVRYONE you hear that Anet EVERYONE will be happy.

There are only a few organised guilds on Viz, and their quality has dropped.
Can’t let you say that, even tho the rest of your analysis is pretty much on point : we are the “different kid”.
There are quite a lot of guilds on Vizunah, some part of the Grand Cross alliance, some are on their own, but they usually assign themselves to a map for a full week. Hence, giving the impression of “not many guilds”, if you yourself stick to a single map.And some of Vizunah’s guild are amongst the best in EU, they just don’t play the GvG game for now. Few guilds were on par or above the famous [RG], Vizu has some of them : [WL] or [LNM] for example. Many other VS guilds would hold their own quite bravely against the best current guilds, if there is any decent way to determine who they are.
About the PPT count : it doesn’t even matter at all anymore, so no, you’ve never seen a serious VS player brag about PPT in this thread. All that matters is the first place of the matchup, and, because we’re proud, perhaps the first place (even tho the matchups seem to favour SFR).
But, sadly, there are no other ways to rank servers. It’s ppt. It’s going to be ppt even in the new league system. So perhaps for some of you it doesn’t mean anything, and it is only proof of superior coverage, but the facts remain : the server with the highest overall ppt will be declared winner of the first season.
Yea, we fought WL, MOS and VSS and I tell you WL and MOS quality dropped hard compared to 6-7 months ago. They are only a shadow of what they once were. On par with RG? Maybe in their prime, more than half a year ago.
