Don’t think I ever lost a 1vs1 in the water, don’t forget to place a rune on your helmet. And yes, even rangers died. Just keep killing them till they have no downstate, take loooooong time tho. Mostly they give up earlier and let you kill em.
I have had the displeasure to withness the sadest thing I have seen in my life. We were 23 people against a FR zerg of atleast 50+ (most likely 60+ but let’s not exaggerate). And they ran away from us, we thought they wanted a hight advantage to kill us. Because they were running up the hill. So we stacked up, buffed and prepared to run into them. Looked like a nice promising fight. But suddenly they started to dissapear, they were PORTING!
Did this happen ones? No! It happened all day and night. Running and porting, not even trying to fight. Later in the night we were 14! And a 50+ FR zerg left our keep in EB as soon as they saw us, ran out and tried to port, lucky we had some guardians putting them in combat and we killed a good share of them. But really, almost 5 times our size and running + porting?
But we actually kinda expected this, true mentallity of a french server. No offense, but every french server uses this tactic and no other server. Don’t know why. Vizunah are the master of porting out, you can’t even imagine how fast they do it.

It’s balanced, I don’t know a single player complaining about them being OP. Except 1 necro but they don’t have stability. And a fear specced necro should win aswel.
I destroyed a few of these warriors on my engi. Put poison on and stack conditions. If he gets close with his mace, dodge forward, through him. Burn, run further and continue kiting.
A good guardian still wins aswel. A guardian in my guild did some duels and he won all. No this build ain’t OP and it is a L2P issue. The stun has such a small range.

Looks like a decent build, good stability uptime, triple stunbreaker. Real strong. Only get some crit chance in it. I get sad panda when I see 4% crit chance unbuffed. Aim for 18-20% unbuffed. So you can produce some numbers.
I do prefer the shout/heal with soldier runes for a hammer/sword-warhorn build. But yea, this would work. Altho, I would go Cleansing Ire instead of Merciless Hammer.

What about stacking up sigil of perception kills instead of a little bit of knight gear? 25 mobs aren’t that hard to find.

Works aswel, aim for 40-42% crit chance buffed on bunker builds, don’t care how you reach it. If you go bloodlust or perception stacks, it all is the same in the end.
Only problem is that if you get downed, you lose your stacks and your damage will be lower.
Guys, the stun on mace is MAX 3.45 seconds, it doesn’t get rounded up to 4seconds. But full 100b channel is 3.30 seconds, meaning you can do a full channel when opponent is stunned.
The OP uses numbers way to high. It is a strong build, but it has counters and use a stunbreaker for godsake. People who get stunned for those 3.45 seconds deserve to die because they aren’t good players.
mace-shield/hammer with a heavy adre building build is enourmously strong aswel.
mace-shield/sword-mace is amazing for small scale if you can place tremor right.
hammer/sword-warhorn still the king for zerging.
mace-shield/greatsword easiest spec to utilise, but it is solo target damage mostly.
longbow/sword-sword real strong as condition build
longbow/sword-warhorn again condition build which gives good condition clearing on yourself aswel
so yea plenty of weapon set ups that give tons of strong options. mace-shield/greatsword might be the easiest against bad players (nub stomping), but a good player will still know when to use his stunbreakers and you won’t be able to get those 100b off. While other sets will probably do better.
Pugs/bambis/militia whatever you call it will be absolutely hated by guilds. This would create a poisonous envirenment. No I hope they will never implement this, it will ruin the game.
I don’t concern myself with the opinions of tier 3 and 8 EU players on game balancing.
Don’t be to kitteny, many T1 guilds moved to lower tiers. So you better don’t base your opinion on the tier people are from. I have played on SFR for months, I have been on that server when it reached its ‘golden days’ when it was the absolute best server in skill level.
And I am saying retaliation is fine as it is. Flamethrower is a decent engineer weapen for small scale fights, altho it always had troubles with targetting and strafing. But some weapons are better than others in certain situations. So yea, it is plain stupid to use it on a zerg. Some weapons are better for PvP, others for WvW and others for PvE. You can call it a learn to play issue. But enough about the flamethrower. The thread started with retal on aoe. And again, you got to use your brain to see where to place your aoe.
If I still play this game a year from now at this rate, I will have around rank 3000+. So meaning I would hit max rank in 3-4 years which ain’t that abnormal.
Guild group of 30 should be able to take down any size of zerg. Zerging gets countered by skilled play by guilds. 1 guild + zerg on commander versus 1 big blob, the first one will win in capping and holding stuff.
Blobbing/zerging ain’t a problem, deal with it.
-Don’t take soldier runes if you don’t go 30 deep in vitality. Melandru is for running solo or small scale, I don’t like them in zerg fights. In my opinion soldier runes with shout/heal is best for WvW for group sizes of 15 and more. Hoelbrak runes don’t bring anything for your group, raiding is a group thing. Everything should be focussed on helping others and you’ll win. And hoelbrak doesn’t fit into that philosophy.
-Empower Allies also effects you. Great trait =).
-I dislike endure pain, to long cooldown and can’t rely on it. I wont ever use it. If you go shout/heal, definitely shake it off. Stomp is also an alternative or fear me.
-I actually really like healing signet, it requires a different playstyle than healing surge does. You should play with focus on sustain. But oh boy, healing signet synchs so nice with healing shouts. So if you don’t have adrenaline problems, I suggest to take healing signet.

I have experience with both sets, I got full sentinels and full pvt. My preference goes to full pvt with some knight jewelery. I will already get 30k health which is definitely enough in big zerg fights. Full sentinels + WvW bonusses + food + right build does give you 38k+ health which is amazing to troll around with. You’ll feel like you are unkillable. But 4% crit chance and 0% crit dmg and low power will make your damage real low. Going to make a post about reaching 41k health soon and hoping to get 70k+ in rampage ^^.
Anyway, I prefer pvt because with some balance you can still dish out great damage. And you need enourmously good regroups with your guild to heal up all the health of a full sentinels set. I have used full sentinels a few times on serious occassions. But that was when I had to hold the frontline against a group almost 5 times our size. So had to protect our damage dealers and keep them out of the choke point. So my damage was irrelevent.
Conclusion: stick with pvt and get some crit chance and dmg in there to get those numbers.

Go use an engi flamethrower on 2 guardians with retaliation. 8000 damage to yourself every auto attack….
You are asking for it yourself if you use flamethrower engi. Same for whirling axe on a warrior. This is what I mean with play clever. Retal is the counter for fast hitting weapons. While those weapons have nice advantages too, like proccing sigils and skills enourmously often. Meteor shower, save that skill for the downed. You see 5 downed people? Drop it on them. Use higher damaging skills in the mean time. Learn to heal yourself up aswel. Eles can regen for tons of health in real short periods of time. Don’t run full zerker. Get good amount of health and you’ll do fine. You can always join a regroup of your team if you drop low and enjoy the health of all those shouts/waterfields.

I love blobs, they drop our guild good loot and provide us shiny armor and weapons. Please keep blobbing up, so I don’t have to find you all individually.
ACs are already rediculous, if you are outnumbered a lot, you should lose hard and drop a tier. Problem solved.
Lol, people complaining about sustain on a warrior? You got to fix your build bro. A warrior can be build to be invulnerable to conditions. He can block direct damage for a pretty long time, 2 times endure/shield. Not that I will ever use endure pain.
Warriors can walk through enemy zergs like they are the boss.
Full power bomb kit build, those bombs will go off for 1k aoe damage and 1.5-2k on crit. You need to get close to your enemy and as we all know, we have terrible stability uptime. So I would play more like an ele on the backline and throw nades with explosions heal to suppert the melee train. PVT will help to survive the retaliation.

If you cared about necromancer, then this patch would not have been there. Believe what you want, perceive class balance as you want, but necromancer are almost useless now, and the worst 1 vs 1 class in the game. All my investments Annihilated. Now i must reroll.

Got to think it through, warriors CAN get protection. Imagine this trait, protection AND your armor mitigating damage. That would be total OP.
40% from armor
20% from trait
33% from protection
Protection hits first, I am guessing after the trait hits?
So 1000 damage – 330 = 670
670 – 134 = 536
536 – 214.4 = 321.6
More than 66% total damage mitigation. And it makes armor even less important. It’ll make tank warriors walking castles.
I love it, one of the best aspects of the game. Learn to deal with it.

It’s is clear you are pretty much alone supporting this idea. The amount of effort you are putting in is incredible and makes me wonder if this ain’t a troll thread. Why? Because of the suggested idea and your replies.
Ascended and exotics barely give stat differences. Definitely not enough to be gamebreaking or justify you losing a 1on1. Exotics are just EXTREMELY easy to get in this game. Get them for karma, and who doesn’t have millions of karma to spend? Get them for badges, got bank tabs full of those. Get them for money, 10g/day in WvW pure profit ain’t a problem. Even many PvE events give exotics now for free.
Gear difference ain’t an issue in WvW, unless you really are to lazy to open up your trading post. Only thing that is an issue is the upscaled aka rallybots. But lvling is pretty fast aswel in this game, craft lvling is like 70g? Ok, not everyone is rich, but even with the traditional way, you lvl fast compared to other games.
Having no stats on your armor and only 1 amulet would destroy my build, and even if I get 6 trinkets, the lack of food will make me absolete in WvW.
No I think all the reactions to this thread make it clear that this ain’t a good idea. Good you are trying to suggest things, but know when you have to drop an idea and move on.

4. Wut?! You even play WvW? Warriors are 1 of the best classes in WvW at the moment. Amazing group condition clearing, applying some boons, aoe healing that stacks with any other healing source. Incredible CC and control over the enemy. And indeed the banner rezz.
So what you are saying is that like for instance, bay could only have like 15 ACs for instance. So that means, you only need to have 1 troll, building 15ACs at a useless spot and you wont be able to defend bay anymore?
And if you need an option to destroy troll siege, doesn’t that mean they can destroy the good siege aswel, what classefies as troll siege?
sPvP is out of balance, it has very very VERY limited build options. Not having food hurts so many builds that they wont even be viable anymore.
Warriors will be useless, the high amount of guardians will only go up.
sPvP was balanced around 5-8 players, not 80-90 players. You can’t just apply those balances to a total different mode of the game without hurting it so hard it will become unplayable. If this ever happens, I will deinstall the game instantely and never look at it again. But don’t think Anet is this stupid to ever apply this idea.
1. a big zerg already gets countered by smaller groups, capping things behind its back. 2 zergs are far more efficient.
2. Hurray for a lot more stronger keep lords, it will take days to cap something now. Just chain warrior banner rezzes. SM will never get taken again. Banners already are super strong there because the lord of SM has so much health.
3. Less exp for objectives? Nope, wont cut the zerg down. People run in zergs because of safety. They wont mind less exp, they still will get their kill count up ^^.
4. Gems can be bought with gold, it is like 15-20g to transfer now? That really is nothing. So don’t use it as an excuse. Agree some guilds need to go to lower tier servers, we did it and it is great fun. I love to use my utilities again.
5. Siege prices will go up again. People just dumped all their siege now. In a few weeks, golems will go up in price again when this main supply runs out. So that issue will fix itself.

Not that you are right, but having perma speed boost doesn’t count as speed. Speed means being a bit faster than that by having many gap closers. You can spec a guardian with many gap closers, which is real fun to play. But not good in group/zerg situations. So generally they aren’t really mobile, ones in, they have a hard time to get out.
And guardians actually need a nerf, 60% of the classes I see in WvW these days are guardians. It is getting crazy. Real easy class to play and hard to do anything wrong, because the tons of heals and panic buttons will keep you alive.
Thiefs perma stealth is a pain yes. But I can’t see how they could fix stealth without hurting thiefs a lot. A thief out of stealth is a dead thief. They are worthless once you start hitting. I do think they should fix their burst. 7k hit on 3.4k armor, I mean really? They easily have a 20k burst against sub 3k armor, yes they are build squishy than. But, for 1on1 fights, that doesn’t even matter when your target is dead in 1 combo.

I am a warrior. I would quit this game if this ever happened.
ps.: I got 7 full exotic armor sets + trinkets on my warrior all funded with money earned in WvW.

In a 1000 hours on my warrior inside WvW, I have never ever lost from a ranger. I am sure there are real good rangers out there, but they are incredibly rare. I only know 1 really good ranger, that is it. Warrior is far superior to a ranger in WvW. I don’t know about the current situation in sPvP and tPvP, I don’t play those modes. But I am guessing ranger is still better there.
Warrior is 1 of the top classes in WvW, can’t get around that. Nobody uses rangers in GvG. Because there group utility = 0.
So in
-PvE: warrior > ranger
-WvW: warrior > ranger
-sPvP: warrior < ranger
ps.: got to admit there are a great deal of bad warriors in WvW aswel.
@ Aphix: just try to aim for as close to 3k armor as you can, id say minimum hp 22k+applied fortitude… theres freedom so mix it up according to your needs. Both GM 15% means both grandmaster traits that give a 15% boost to either dmg or crit chance based on adrenaline lvls.
@MilKzz: all valid points friend, altho we’ll have to agree to disagree on the lemongrass… I’m always thinking more defensively tho; this type of warrior is mostly only killed by roots & snares so…
Cleansing fire is rly rly tempting, but 50% uptime for retal is crazy (remember +30% boon duration). I can endure slow adrenaline for that… in raid mode you will be perma retal, like nobody else. And yeah, someone has to go for empower allies definetly.. workers are not selfish but you need to find a balance. This was mine.
One thing I love about GW2 is that rly, theres not just one “better” way, it’s all about finding your own way. Feel free to overwrite any of my choices with yours if it works for you
Agree, the retal is crazy. I know it is 50% uptime and it hasn’t left my build since I discovered it. I would trade in cleansing ire for the stability, meaning you would lose 1 of the 2 stability sources you have. It is tricky, but I think the trade off is worth it sometimes. And yea I agree, everybody has his own playstyle and should use a slightly adjusted build. Mine is very simular to yours ^^. Oh and we are looking for good warriors wink.
ANet considered the WvW abilities as new content and they probably feel it’s enough to keep players occupied for another month instead of providing real substantive content for players to enjoy.
Players on lower tiers suffer the most for this, since they won’t be gaining ranks anywhere near as fast as higher tiers due in large part to less people to kill. I’ve been playing on ET(dead Last in NA for months)since November and only transferred to EB this past week, and I have 4 alts all of which are under rank 15 in WvW. :/ At least give me a way to reset the few Rank points I have….
What? No! I play on a low ranked server aswel and passed bronze weeks ago. All depends on how many hours you put into it.
I know 12 people who had a precursor drop in WvW. I am at 45k kills and had around 8 exotics and 100s of rares. Still waiting for dem precursors =3.
Yea was wondering about this aswel, it is not like it gives you an advantage over anyone. I think this should be allowed. If it is allowed, make sure to put the delay on 1.05-1.1 seconds instead of 1second to compensate the lags =p.
Give us arenas :<! That is what I say. So we can all let WvW die so it can sit next to PvP and have some proper fights.

also Berserker Stance DOES NOT affect conditions already applied on us , this has to change too.
Just learn when to use it, what you are asking would make the skill OP and signet of stamina 100% useless.
Rampage is always useless. Might be fun in that new PvP map in the cannon booth, but otherwise it’s pretty much the worst skill in the game.
Not always useless and definitely not the worst skill ingame. It is amazing to hold the circle and defend a tower or just to leeroy into a ton of people causing massive disruption. It has it uses, but very situational unfortunately.
I agree with a lot, and my build is very simular. I only run more power and less crit dmg (crit chance is the same) to benefit the retal more. And fire sigil scales with power aswel. Just felt like a better synergize.
As you said, you got to build differentely for GvG and ZvZ. I think this should be for food aswel. The heal on kill food in large fights beats the lemongrass for me. While it is absolutely useless in GvG. So lemongrass is the way in solo or GvG, but not for ZvZ.
You run 2 balanced stances and I see why, it synergizes very well with your build. Like that you get the benefits from the dolyak signet and only have to activate it when you run out of stability. But I can’t drop cleansing ire. You definitely will have problems with building adrenaline. This 1 trait changes that. And it has a delay on the condition removal, meaning you jump in, stun people get hit from the aoe underneath them and then it removes. It does hurt to give up a some stability for it, but it beats it IMO by a little little margin.
Empowered, got mixed feelings about that one. Let’s assume you hit 1.5k-2k a hit, with average of 5 boons on you. So you’ll hit 150-200 harder. You said yourself, warriors aren’t selfish, so if you take 150 power to 5 teammates, those 5 will hit for +-200 harder. Meaning 1000 damage more for your team. So atleast 1 warrior needs to run this. Or I even find leg specialist better, get seperated from the main force and you are dead. 1s imob is just enough to seperate 5 and burst them down. I have been trying out desperate power aswel, because with a big health pool, it ain’t to hard to keep your health at 50%. Well it actually is ^^. So I think here the 3rd best trait to use is a draw between desperate power and empowered.
For trinkets, you can’t do much wrong when you run soldier runes and soldier armor ^^.
