Please stop complaining about EVERYTHING

And people, first kill zerg than collect bags. Most zergs we meet are dead within 10s anyways. Sometimes a fight drags out longer, but if you run over a bag while moving and fighting, press ‘f’ really not hard to do. I don’t see the problem and don’t have it either.

You should play more WvW and learn to multi task better.

And bags don’t give lag….

Healing Signet Nerf

Anet had a dream, that shout heal warriors are the way to go. So they decided to nerf all other build options. So that they are all utterly crap.

Healing signet was forgiving for nubs in the early levels, made that they could make mistakes. 12 points is less than HALF, this is not a nerf, this is stomped into the ground to never be looked at again. Glad my warrior is lvl 80…

Good luck to all who wants to level one, not saying this is killing the warrior class, but surely is a good hit.

I am a full tank/shout build, whitch is still viable.

part 1:
But I got a full second set of armor and weapons (including jewelery) that had a mix of DPS and tankyness. This build is now useless and I am probably going to flush it down in the mystic toilet. Thank you Anet to waste me around 70G. Because it was already a build with high risk/ high gain. But now it is just free badges for the enemie.

part 2:
I got a P/P/Cond combined with P/P/crit gear engineer, entire build was made around omnoms. The cooldown on the omnoms has made this build useless and unviable. He even got hit harder than warriors. So thank you Anet to waste me ANOTHER 50G. Buff flamethrower but nerf it harder, I guess I’ll just go nades now like anyone else. Good job to kill your build diversity.

Post-Patch Talk

This doesn’t affect warriors alone, my flamethrower engineer get’s a BIG hit from this too. This is a gigantic nerf too him and I am not sure if I am going to continue buying exotic gear for him.

This game has sick amounts of aoe and burst, look at the necro well spam and aoe from ele’s. Get caught in that and even my 3.4k armor warrior almost insta dies (can dodge roll out with a shiver of health). This game has 0 dedicated healers, so the damage dealt compared to the heal potential was broken, omnoms made a bit up for it. Now they are gone and to not make fights to be over in less than 2-5 sec (mostly the initiating team wins), they have to do a damage nerf across the line or a heal buff across the line…

Worst patch I have seen in game history.

Extra maps no, but a new set off maps might be a fresh breeze, but I am still reluctant to this idea.

WvW gear, absolute NO for me.

Buy upgrades with karma, yea requested many times and is a good idea, althou the upgrades are pretty cheap.

Dislike more PvE content, WvW =/= PvE. You got a large world to do PvE in.

Increase siege time to 2 hours would be welcome.

I agree that this is the worst change in WvW. Higher tiers got problems too, they can miss people so just sent out people to contest everything. Yes everythig has crosses.

So now we have shifts for the boring guard function, stay in tower/keep, check gates and refresh siege. Greatest fun I had in wvw….

PvD got encouraged now, why not stack on the door, why even bother buying siege against paper doors….

GS is bad DPS in a zerg…

100b hits 3 people, and people are constantly moving so your damage wont be concentrated. So no it ain’t very great, hammer is by far superior to GS. And mobility is everything in zerg fights, constant mobility, you’ll die if you use 100b in the wrong spot for a full channel.

I still sometimes use it, it is a situational weapon. But I like hammer-axe/mace more if you go all in and aren’t planning to retreat. Because it is head on offensive.

I will admit that the mobility options for warriors really do pigeon-hole you to using specfic weapon types if you want to move around the field quickly / effectively. I’ve actually almost given up on pvping on my warrior mostly because of the general lack of mobility. I actually run a mace + shield / sword + axe warrior shout healing build only because I’ve essentially given up on being any kind of real ‘balls deep’ dps. It definitely feels that once commited to a fight, warriors have a hard time of pulling out if things aren’t going as planned. Especially if you have chilled or crippled, then you’re essentially dead in the water.

Yea the lack, of condition removal forces you to go soldier runes. I love these runes, run sword/warhorn and hammer and you won’t have any conditions on you. Never tested my build in sPvP, because I don’t like that game mode. It does wonders in WvW. I can just run around and ignore mesmers/thiefs. They try their best but you are just a rock running around. Yea you won’t have insane burst if you go tanky, but who cares, nobody can kill you so just dps them down, you got time.

I played necro, thief, guardian and engineer and I don’t feel that my warrior is superior to any of em. I main him, just because of his insane tankyness. So much fun.

ps: it is really fun to see a thief spam all his initiative on you and you do 1 heal cycle back to full healt xd. They mostly run than.

That sums it up, could use some tweaking and there are a few bugs, but all classes got bugs. They definitely not as bad as everyone says they are. Or I could just be an amazing player, but I doubt that.

L2P issue, Mobile Strikes removes immob and gap openers are unaffected by slowdowns.
You can have all the debuffs in the game but as long as you have MStrikes WA/Rush/Leap will get you out of any situation.

L2P issue, GC Thief has at least 39s CD on steal so the “burst” is down to CnD (which is only one since he wasted 6 init on EP) and Backstab which you can avoid.
As a general rule, a Warrior dying to a direct damage Thief is a shame to the class who should avoid talking until he learnt to play.
I never died to a non-condition Thief in 1400 hours and so other Warriors.

Now it’s not like I expected someone named MilKzZz to be decent at this game, but you could at least know the BASICS before going in the forums to state wrong things.

Hahaha, you made me laugh. Mobile strike removes 1 snare yes, you’ll jump a bit further and get snared again. And don’t understand me wrong, this trait is great. And gap closers/openers ARE affected by movement debuffs (atleast in WvW). So your rush wont bring you far.

fyi I don’t die to thiefs either, but I am supprised that someone with 1400 hours on a warrior still thinks zerger is the way in WvW. And it seems you have only played against bad thiefs from what you are saying.

Why i'm disappointed with WvW in this game

I love the game, and I actually think it is quite balanced. And I am 95% of my time in WvW. I talk a lot to other WvW regulars and they share my opinion about balance. Most people only say that they should nerf the burst damage of glasscanon thiefs because it is redicilously high.

I don’t have an ele or a thief, I play like 80% of my time warrior and 20% necro. And I love the 1on1 fights you sometimes get in WvW.

About capping castles and losing them, learn to defend. If you learn to first upgrade and place siege in a freshly capt castle instead of immediatly going to the next one, you’ll lose a lot less. I enjoy WvW more than I have enjoyed anything in a game. It is long time ago since I had so much fun in a MMO focused on group fights.

@nekos: mostly the people that are satisfied don’t post their opinion. People who aren’t content make threads complaining and go to forums. And not every game is for everyone. I never liked WoW, should they change it for me till I like it?

Stacking armor is not necessary to people who can swiftly disengage and avoid damage.
In zerg fights I jump into the enemy zerg (usually on a flank), down 3-5 people in a second then WA>Rush>Leap away as soon as I am focused.
Then I jump in again, blast some more people to the ground and leap away again.
No point for me in sitting there to take damage and deal none when I can do this.
Against Thieves I just pop EP and their burst is gone then I 3-shot them.

You get rooted, knocked down and chained cc’ed before you get out. And we ain’t even talking about the quazillion wells on the ground insta downing everything a bit berserker like. And insta downing 3-5 people? So you are telling me you can solo a party? A full channel of HB does around 1/3th of my health bar.

Thiefs come in, you activate EP, thief pops out and goes stealth waits 3s and does burst. Repeat if you aren’t dead yet.

100B is a noob slayer, that is all. Any experienced WvW player will dodge your entire combo and than just kills you.

I run it in my build, but it is a group orientated WvW build. It is there because stability get’s stripped off often in WvW. So all sources of stabiliy are welcome. And it has saved my life 100s of times.

Really funny to see another warrior bullcharge in and starting his HB, while you just walk away totally ignoring them.

I just run in and smack em all to death with hammer. Stun the scouts and knock em down so they don’t blind you.

But I am full tank warrior and can take a lot of damage.

Bet you don’t do zerg fights in WvW, because you would just dissapear with such low armor and health.

But looks good for solo/roaming in WvW. 1 question: Don’t you have troubles with thieves? They must do a lot of damage on you :/. Thiefs were 1 of the reasons why I went 3k+ armor.

I bet you do tons of damage when you knock somebody down thou. And 1 other thing, do you have stability? I find this really handy in WvW. I often use the dolyak signet, the 90 thoughness mitigates some of the initial burst of your enemy and it gives 10s of stability.

This, been roaming around with my warrior + warrior or warrior + guardian and you just mock up groups of 5 players with 2.

People saying warrior is bad in WvW are using the wrong build or should learn to play.
Hammer is so strong in a warrior’s hands. Nice damage.

Axe-mace beats GS in DPS with like 10%. Even with full HB channel. I didn’t calculate that (someone else did), but I know it is true from experience.

If you have problems with conditions, run soldier runes and heal/shout build. You will remove up to 4 conditions each 20sec.

If you have problems against thiefs, use a hammer. I don’t think I have lost a fight in WvW against a thief yet with hammer. Axe-mace is really strong too to burst things down quickly.

You can go with a lot of thougness and vitality to just be in the middle of the enemy zerg wacking things down. That is what I do mostly. Or you can go for semi-tanky and bash people down more at the outskirts of the enemy zerg.

Don’t use GS when fighting 1on1, it sucks.

But saying warriors don’t have a place in WvW than you can’t be more wrong, they are awesome in WvW. And saying they don’t have condition removal, you can’t be more wrong, a warrior can remove 20 conditions (4*5) each 20s, so that is 1 condition/ second if you see it that way.

ps.: I think your build just ain’t right for WvW.

If I put down a Meteor Shower it will hit 5 people.
If I use Hundred Blades into a stacked group of 10 people. How many of these people will take damage? Or just simply swinging my sword

AoE Limit

People like you are probably the reason the AoE cap is there in the first place. They want to make it too easy for the people who can’t give a kitten to dodge stuff. A zerg foolish enough to stand in the middle of AoE being cast by 5 people should deserve to die. But instead you guys want to promote this mindless zergball mentality, and I can’t even begin to understand why.

AoE isnt cast by 5 people – its cast by 50 people. Each individual in an AoE zerg may not be able to hit more than a certain amount of targets, but the targets can be hit by infinite AoE.

Have you ever tried dodging 100 Necro wells hitting you at once as your framerate goes from 60 to 2? Its not that easy

Anyone with half a brain can see the AoE zergs in WvW. Its a boring and dull mechanic. Especially for the opposition, since its mostly just creating a pretty lightshow.

But I have to say, seeing AoE zergs consisting of mostly rangers, elementalists and mesmers get absolutely “zergballed” by organized guild groups half or a third their size can be fun. They always scatter like scared little rats at the thought of physical confrontation.

This guy nailed it, aoe limit is needed. Every word he says is true…

You need an example? You don’t even need 10 necro’s to 1 shot a zerg, port them inside, lay down wells and zerg is gone, not even a death fase. The game would be completely broken. You can’t even dodge that kitten, because you are simply dead. I run a 3.3k armor 30k health warrior and I survived 1-2 seconds.

And yes, our guild can run 10 necro’s or ele’s or whatever we need. Without an aoe limit you can’t simply get into a keep/tower.

And please, why people don’t do it with arrowards? Are you a complete stranger to WvW, ever heard of a siege limit? And people are even doing it, more and more cata’s are used to siege keeps because your rams get insta downed because of the AC.

Why not use retaliation? It is a great skill yes, but got nerfed a while back ago. I does dmg based on your own amount of power and it is aroun 200-300 dmg for normal players, if you go powerhouse it can go to max 500dmg. Not much compared to the 1-3Ks raining on you.

Dodge the red circles? Which one is ours which one is going to kill me? Do you think there is only 1 red circle on the ground? Maybe in the low populated servers, but when I look at the ground, they are everywhere. A roll will save you from one and bring you straight into another one.

You want to split up zergs with aoe, so you don’t like the balls that are used right now. Splitting those balls up while make an impossible to coordinate fights where it is more 1 on 1 than anything else, atleast these balls give some strategy to the game. As soon 1 ball split up the other one, the fight is lost for the one that split up, because they brake into chaos.

Even with the 5 player limit we try to avoid aoe as much as possible now, just because it rips zergs apart already. Why not make them more OP by removing the limit.

GJ ANet. You kill WwW. Wis No reset decision. Onlain on Seafarer Rest 0 ppl on all boards. Thy Arena. You kill wWw and kill GW2.

If you had played for more weeks on SFR, you would know that SFR almost never took the lead at reset night. We have life’s and we go to bed. Mostly we take SM and most of us stop to go to bed and the rest stay to defend. 2 hours after reset we mostly have the outmanned buff.

So, please stop trolling SFR ain’t dead, not even close. All the core guilds remain, don’t know about the others, but I think I already have seen all the usual guild tags.

AoE Limit

AoE is AoE, limiting it to 5 means it is no longer AoE.

This sums it up nicely, AoE, Area of Effect, not Effect partial Area. Anet need to stop catering to people that are to stupid to move out of the warning circle. I don’t think any game I have played has even given warning circles and yet this one has them and they still put a cap on AoE.

I don’t know who they are trying to cater to but its getting kittening stupid. Even a casual should be smart enough to move out of the red circle. E-sport my kitten

The box should have a disclaimer on it “if you IQ is higher then 5 then GW2 is to easy for you”

League of legends has circles around aoe and oops ain’t that like one of the biggest e-sports in history?

Aoe limit is there so people don’t 1 shot entire zergs. You don’t like zergs? GTFO of wvw than. WvW= zerg vs zerg and all about strategie, movement and timing. And that is what makes it so great. An there is room for smaller groups to cap camps, kill dollys and even 1 man parties are needed to scout the enemy zerg.

You don’t like any of these rolls than WvW ain’t for you.

ps.: area of effect, the area is still under the effect, 5 people will get hit anywhere in the circle. It is just limited to 5 people but it still is aoe.

Should stay, in the current way the game works and is being played, aoe without a limit would be 100% OP.

Just get 40 ele’s and keep aoe on the gate, no way any zerg what so ever will get through.

Soon? It has been 4 flippin months since you posted this. I know you guys have to do a lot, but these things can’t take up a lot of time to fix. There are tons of small bugs like these that can easely be fixed and would make tons of players happy.

Well if you want to beat JS you have to win from them in the morning (GMT). Because I haven’t seen much of em the rest of the day. Which I find really weird, seem like France got timewarped some hours back compared to other countries in EU.

And yea, guildwise Piken vs SFR vs Deso would be clash of titans. I don’t think any other server has as many good guilds as these servers. Would be insane and I hate that school is starting again for me.

What is the point of PvE? Killing the same mobs with the same combo’s over and over and over again.

What is the point of dungeons? Killing the same mobs on the same maps with the same skills and strategies all over and over and over again.

What is the point of first person shooters? Killing the same people on the same map over and over and over again.

You do it because it is fun and you are having fun in the process…

Kodash gets to slack in T3 next week, could be worse.

It is called strategy……..not manipulation. Fyi we dont afraid VS…..9/10 times we had more points than them during prime time…..despite the fact that we were a med population server. They have the numbers and guilds outside of EU zone and they can camp night-morning zones……Good for them, but not fun for the rest.

I know that they have Canadians and that has been also confirmed from X-VS members. We all know that no EU alone server can have 24/7 coverage since the beginning. We also have queue’s(not 6 hours but still) but queue’s arent the main issue. We have more points ,cause most of the big guilds are online during that time…..So its about organization, teams ,individual skills and tactics.
Fun isn’t when a football match is starting with 0-5. Fun isnt to take empty castles and certainly isnt for us to retake them slowly in all maps…..being left behind point wise ,cause of the night-early morning camp. I dont blame them, this is how WvW has been designed(24/7) and good for them that they have achieved to have fully coverage with one or the other(non EU guilds)way, but its not fun for the rest.
What matter’s is when both server’s have their full strenght(or close to it).Win with full forces non stop, but loosing in general due to the above factors called….bad beat.

Sure no one ever denied that Vs has plenty of hebrew speaking canadians, you must be right i’m sure the spanish guilds on Deso aren’t spanish they are lying!!

It’s quite funny to see you whine about a boring matchup when you looses it, and however find a matchup so funny when you win it, is it a sore looser server we have there? No I am pretty sure it is a coincidence, however Vizunians told us that they were letting you 1 or 2 half primetime to prevent you from running away crying, like you do with a little brother, it is not really fun to have no one to play with is it?

But I have to admit that you are the best server US/EU.

And suprise suprise an ex-vizu player comes to disturb the nice flow in this thread. Mos data doesn’t get updated min after min. So it ain’t that reliable as you think. So yea I prefer my own observations at primetime above the data at MOS. Sometimes MOS doesn’t get updates for 4hours+.

And why would we run away from vizu? I have never earned so much gold while fighting them. It is insane and I got more trouble now to pay for my exotics in T2. And I got to say that the field fights here in T2 are much more challaging (against kodash atleast) than in T1. Kodash really has some nice guilds, just a lack of players.

Warriors are not beasts in teamfights. We’re next to useless in WvW. There is no justification taking a Warrior over a Thief. Or Mesmer. Or Elementalist. That unholy trinity rules WvW.

As long as everyone keeps believing that, we’ll continue to roll faces in WvW ^^. I don’t mind. You can’t see potential if you aren’t willing too.

Gaining adrenaline ain’t hard, it mostly stacks up really fast for me. I got embrace the pain thou, so I cheat a little :p.

In group fights I burst and like 2s later it is back full.

Interesting concept, never thought of staking boons on a warrior. I have run around with a permanent SOR build which was strong and these runes would have synerchized well.

With a little bit of extra tweaking this could be pretty good

1# warriors are beasts in WvW, not for roaming thou, but for group fights

3# for PvE you can best go something in the middle, get some thoughness to survive and some damage to kill the mobs fast.

Well a full HB does the most dmg, combine that with axe-mace for sustain dmg as soon as HB ran to it’s end.

Never use axe ‘5’ the dmg is crap.

For single target dmg, maybe greatsword – riffle the most dmg?

1# Yea, why not all play ele/necro and insta kill everything with a pile of aoe….
The limit was needed to prevent insta killing zergs. (wells are kinda OP >.<)
2# and 3# I love the downed state, it adds another layer of gameplay and strategy. Rezzing mates encourages teamplay, our guild had trouble first too to stop larger groups from mass rezzing. But we learned how to deal with it and now we use it to our advantage (so yea L2P issue).
4# Combo fields are fun and adds ANOTHER layer of strategy to the game. It makes different classes sync with each other, remove this and you’ll make wvw a lot duller…

I couldn’t kill 10 other players in a FPS, although I was clearly a lot more skilled, nerf plox.

Sometimes it ain’t ment in a game to take down groups 5 times your size. And please, you can take down 5-6 players with 2… learn how to stop em from rezzing (fear, knockdown, knockback, etc)

Red Guard is laughing their kitten off at this thread and I am laughing too and my guild mates laughed too. So we all had a good laugh.

Anyway, combine handful of warriors and guardians as backbone, give em a mesmer and 2-3 eles and you’ll be rolling everything in WvW. All of you go full glasscanon builds thinking you’ll kitten everything and get bursted down in a microsecond, no kitten…

Notice that your entire premise relies on getting carried by other people? Carried by other classes, and having an organized zerg around you to babysit the warriors?

Yeah… Some people like leeching welfare, other people prefer to stand on their own two feet.

Babysit the warriors? HAHAHAHA, they babysit the others by cleansing off all their conditions, by giving them might, by locking targets on a position, by healing them for 8k+/20s/warrior. 4-5 warriors that is 45k health each 20s! They don’t get carried they SYNCHRONIZE as no other with any other class.

Face it, warriors are kinda OP in WvW. I am not talking about PvP, I don’t play that. It is just that warriors are perfect for WvW and maybe not for PvP, play another class for PvP than. You can’t balance everything for aswell PvE, PvP, WvW.

I know many of you ‘PvP’ players laugh at the lack of individual skill of WvW players. But still, I don’t get beaten often on my warrior when fighting 1on1 in WvW. I rolled multiple times parties of 5 players with 2 warriors. And don’t think they were all upscaled.

Fact remains, warriors aren’t UP over the entire line, they might not be ‘fit’ for PvP, who knows maybe nobody has found the ‘magical’ build yet. But they are definitely not as bad as you guys say they are.

ps.: what I do know is that I have seen tons and tons of kittenty warrior builds on the forum and in WvW.
pps.: you can’t fix warriors for PvP without making them rond out OP in WvW.
ppps.: I do agree that the leap skills need to get bug fixed asap.

@phoebe: I know it is a late reaction, but I read your post (the long rant) and couldn’t help it to laugh.

You want to know Vizuna’s secret? We know ^^…
They use glasscanon rangers with bows shooting from a distance laying down tons of aoe. But you can fart em down if you play clever. You’ll get chained entangles too btw.

How to kill em? Well I can’t do all the work can I ^^. But at field fights Vizu really really ain’t good. You need half their numbers to kill em in a good organized group.

Why vizu is winning?
1. they have a good strategy and insane scouting system (this has to be said and makes them deserve their spot in T1)
2. they nightcap everything make it T3 and with full supply depots
3. they have A LOT of people all around the clock

How to beat em?
1. get a half decent team at night to counter the nightcap and you deny em 50% of their points
