World Transfer Too Expensive?

Minion of Vey.4398

I think the cost is fine.

It’s cheaper than what I’ve seen in other games, applies to all characters, and unless you’re wanting to switch what team you play for in WvWvW, irrelevant anyway due to the ease of guesting.

I’ve already played a fair bit on every server available at this point, just from messing around with guesting.

Today's expectations

Minion of Vey.4398

Here’s an expectation that’ll probably be met.

I expect people to complain about the time of day the patch is released, complain that it’s already feb 27th in their time zone, complain that they took today off from work to play and the patch isn’t even out yet, and every other complaint that we’ve heard every patch day since the game was released. (Sometimes from the same people too, that haven’t picked up on the pattern yet)

What's driving spike in Sell Volumes?

In the patch didn’t they say they were going to fix the “DR bug” (which really wasn’t DR) where you don’t get loot credit from mobs even though you get exp credit?

Would figure that’ll mean more loot dropping across the board, lowering prices. Maybe people are dumping in anticipation of that (I did too several days ago, liquidated just about everything)

Neat thing is we have guesting, so you could just jump over and fiddle with it sometimes.

Too much hype on playing the TP in this game

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Minion of Vey.4398

Minion of Vey.4398

The market will be broken until they make all items sellable only once on the TP. You get item X as a drop (or gather the material), if you need it use it. If you do not need it, or can’t even use it (wrong weapon or armor for your class), sell it on the TP. Whoever buys it must “need it” or why else buy it, right?

They should make it so when an item is bought from the TP it is now an account bound item.

We really don’t need people manipulating the market and breaking the economy in the exact same fashion as they have done in the real world.

This is what Vindictus does, items are only sellable once there (or at least that was the case back when it came out and I played).

It had some good and bad points. I wouldn’t say it really made the game any better overall. Item acquisition wasn’t a focal point in that game though and items didn’t “soulbind” so drawing correlations between the two probably isn’t all that meaningful.

I think overall, GW2 is a little more interesting of a game being able to resell things.

How can I tell if it will never sell ?

If you don’t need the money just leave it there and maybe get lucky eventually.

But take a look at the stuff above it. If there’s a massive amount of undercuts to where it’s obvious your item isn’t selling any time soon, go ahead and relist it.

I’ve had stuff up for over a month before that I just stubbornly left there since I didn’t really care, and it ended up selling when the price finally swung back up.

High level stones only come from black lion chests and gemstore I believe.

My characters will be forever ugly because of this. I wish there was another means of acquisition.

They aren’t that expensive, it’s 5 of them for 250 gems. There’s some cheaper deals in there if you get more than 5 (25 of them is 800 gems I think?). It’s not a big deal doing gold to gems and getting the fine transmutation stones that way.

I’ve started using S/D in WvW more and more lately after being exclusively a D/D person (throwing on the staff for the usual stuff).

It’s solid. If scepter had an aura I’d probably be running it as a default. You definitely don’t need group support to play S/D. Survivability is definitely available. Water trident on scepter is pretty hot. Course if you’ve got friends around you can hand out more might stacks than D/D too.

You’ll miss having shocking aura but it’s not the end of the world.

The focus is worthy of mention too. If you’re able to stand giving up RTL it’s worth another look (not just for blocking treb shots).

At any rate, you definitely don’t have to be D/D.

So, how do you kill a D/D Ele?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Minion of Vey.4398

Minion of Vey.4398

In full PVT/cleric gear I definitely don’t have “average damage”. My damage is awful. If I kill someone it’s because they have no way to sustain a fight or they’re full Glass. Sadly, you have to build for damage just to do “average damage” as an ele. And if you’re fighting someone built like that, you should be able to kill them unless they’ve decided to run away 2 seconds into the fight or something.

I don’t know what WoW is like now, but it’s kinda like being an old Discipline priest in WoW. You could stand up to just about anyone in 1 v 1 but if you killed someone then it was a 5 minute fight and they were a class/build that had no real self healing so you slowly wore them down.

Funny enough you can build many professions in the game this way. Full bunker guardians don’t die 1 on 1 either. It won’t even be like a bunker ele where you maybe get them in a bad spot and they get out of there with RTL. They just walk away from you at normal speed and laugh at you with you never feeling like you even “almost had them”. It’s the most soul crushing experience ever. Eventually you’ll just give up and walk in the other direction, like a walk of shame.

Ever fight a full bunker thief? I know that’s not popular (not sure why either, bunker thieves actually do a little more damage than bunker eles) but it’s another completely fruitless endeavor trying to kill them. They don’t even need to run away with stealth.

Full cleric gear shout healing warrior? Not killing them alone either. And they can run away from you too. sPVPers that have moved up into higher tiers can vouch for Bunker rangers and necros as also being really obnoxious. Believe it or not, the word is getting out on bunker rangers and people are starting to complain about them. That’s right, COMPLAINING ABOUT RANGERS WHAT KIND OF WORLD IS THIS!? hehe.

I think the main reason people don’t like bunker eles is because that’s the bunker they run into the most. The reason for that isn’t that it’s a better bunker than other professions, it’s that other ele builds are such crap so eles you run into are likely to be one..

Well when you use the skins and add them to an item, the skin is gone so in that sense it’s stuck on one item.

But you can use transmute stones to move your costume skin from that item to a future one.

Like if you bought the gem shop profane armor and added the leg skin to some level 20 legs, you could later on transmute that skin to level 40 legs. Then from the lev 40 legs to level 80 legs. Long as you have more transmute stones.

It does take special “fine transmute” stones to transmute level 80 things though. But at any rate, you can move the skin around to different items.

You don’t have to pick between playing the TP and playing the game.

Sure you’ll make more flipping on the TP if you’re babysitting your orders vs just putting in your orders and moving on, but it’s still completely profitable to check on things once or twice a day and then play normally.

After all, you can put a buy order in from anywhere. When stuff hits your pickup box it doesn’t need to be put back up asap.

Make crafting profitable

in Crafting

Posted by: Minion of Vey.4398

Minion of Vey.4398

The less of an item people make, the more profitable it can be.

Look to the mid level markets that get less attention and that’s where you’ll find profit opportunities.

Profit on any item disappears if enough people make it. So don’t make what other people are making. Meet an existing demand that isn’t being met. Don’t exceed the demand with excess supply. Right now there are hundreds of things that are profitable to craft that people don’t feel like making themselves, demand exceeds supply. Find some of those items and make them for your customers. They want you to. Many opportunities change from day to day, others are actually rather consistent as long as you don’t see $$ and flood the market with more of the item than people want.

The same skills one uses to find and flip items on the TP for x profit can be used to craft and sell things for profit. Often for a higher profit than one would make flipping.

Sometimes it’s easier to craft for profit than flip for profit.

Mid level jewelry and rares are a good starting point to look at. People just want to spend a little money and upgrade a gear slot. They don’t care if it’s 5s cheaper to make it themselves, they just want to get their thing and keep playing on their alt or whatever.

Making intermediary items within the crafting process is another thing to look at. In a particular market completing the item might not be profitable, but getting some mats and making mithril spearheads or something might be.

The more attention a market has, the less profitable it is. It has to be, as getting the mats from the TP and making something with it is almost instant. If something is profitable, if you keep making it it won’t be infinitely profitable. Either you keep buying the mats raising demand on the mats raising the price, or more likely you make more of the item than is normally bought in x time period.

Find something that looks good and isn’t made often, make a few of that, then a few of something else, few of something else etc, and you’ll be on your way to making money with crafting. You CAN make money sometimes making level 80 exotics, but the better opportunities are almost always elsewhere.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I don’t find any of the armor “sets” in the game particularly prestigious. Kinda unfortunate.

Would be neat having some cool looking stuff to get that’s really expensive and/or takes a while to get. “Legendary armor” would be neat.

T3 cultural, well lets face it, if you want it you’ll have it before long. Most long time players can buy the whole set whenever they feel like it without blinking.

Doesn’t necessarily need to take the time it takes to make a legendary weapon to make just the boots or something, but stuff for other slots along the lines of the glowy fractal capacitor would be good.

Minion of Vey.4398

Clovers have to be the most soulcrushing part of making a legendary if you have bad luck.

It’s not even that it’s really that expensive compared to other parts. Somehow though when you spend 3g in stuff and don’t get a clover it feels like 500g. I remember it well. Especially when you’ve already got “1 in 3 chance” in your head, have x amount of attempts to make and are expecting a certain amount of clovers back.

“Okay, got some stuff here for 25 attempts. Should get about 8 clovers here or so, I’ll be well on my way”

Does 25 attempts, gets 2 clovers

“WTF FJAKFDAKSFJKAHGKHSG”

There’s also the “waypoint of shame” (like walk of shame, but worse) when you have to go get more obsidian shards from the temple of balth than you expected near the end. You can also count on running out of obsidian shards again at 76 clovers, just so you have to make the trip back. If applicable, you will also happen to run out of onhand karma, just so you have to goof around and get more to buy 2 more shards or something.

hehe.

There’s never going to be a situation where you want to get rid of them.

Is anyone ever going to say “Boy I wish I could free up bank space by getting rid of all these legendaries!” or “Don’t care for this incinerator but it sure would be nice to get that sigil of bloodlust back”

If you’re in the unique situation of wanting to outright delete a character that has a legendary (they’re soulbound after all), well deleting them would take the legendary with it. Even then it’d be silly to get rid of it, as they might be made account bound in the future.

You don’t want to be in that situation where you save up hundreds of g over time and then come out of it with nothing with the MF.

Can you throw 300g in and come up with a precursor? Absolutely. Many people have. Think about how you’ll feel if it doesn’t work out though. It isn’t worth it.

Don’t be intimidated by precursors going up in price either. They’re driven by the mat prices of rares and exotics that are thrown into the forge to make them. If they’re going up in price, the stuff you’re selling from farming on the TP is giving you more coin than before too.

While I don’t think there’s much skill in MMOs, It’d be laughable to say that just faster reaction time is all that goes into being a top player at something like the Street Fighter series.

There are currently 3 ways to get a precursor (random world drop, Mystic Forge and Trading Post) with another one slated later (scavenger hunt). If you don’t currently like one of the ways to get a precursor that’s in the game now, then you should wait until the scavenger hunt is released and determine if THAT way suits you better. Who knows how long that will be though.

Yes, so I should sit on everything I have to make 2 legendaries because I’m not lucky. That makes a boatload of sense. The only people that defend this current system already have them via luck or exploits. End of story.

What about people like me that bought a precursor recently by saving up money?

Attention to the price of Dusk

Minion of Vey.4398

@Rouven

Anet’s general intention is pretty clear when they made Legendaries that hard to get. Putting it together with Mike O’Brien’s “thousand hour grind” quote, it’s pretty safe to assume that their intention was to make this item very hard to get.

Whether its perfectly tuned or not? I don’t dare claim to know what Anet’s intentions are. But regardless, the general intention remains the same. Of course everyone can achieve it. It just takes people an asslong time to get it. And that is by design.

Anet may want 1% of population to have it, instead of 0.5%. Which is okay, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s still pretty kitten hard to get.

When prices of precursors go up faster then what the average player can make, that really isnt true..

Lures actually has a very good point. Precursor prices (the most desired ones obviously, because that’s what everyone talks about.) are going up at around 100G/month. Look at the threads in this forum detailing how you can get 3G/hour. that’s just one hour of play in a day, 30 hours in a month. So if you play any more than that, you’ll easily outpace the rate at which precursor prices are increasing.

This is also working under the assumption that precursor prices will increase forever, which is a HUGE assumption.

BTW, just because because a casual player doesn’t play enough to get it, doesn’t mean he CANNOT get it. He can, but he just chooses not to play this game much due to various reasons (life, work can be anything).

1: precursors as is now, will indeed increase for ever, as gold will never stop dropping in value.

2: It is not unusual for casuals to play as little as 5-6 hours a week.

3: thats 30 hours a month just to keep up with the price increase, this dosnt sound strange/unreasonable to anyone?

4: Yes it actually mean casuals cannot get it, without sacreficing real life time, which again means they are no longer casuals.

WheezerX, its a game, everything is cosmetics and numbers

Gold will indeed stop dropping in value eventually.

The TP tax as a percentage sees to it. The more things cost, the more money disappears per sale due to the 15% cut the TP takes. Meanwhile, gold entering the game stays about the same. Still get the same coin from completing events, vending trash, completing dungeons and all that. Eventually, the TP tax overtakes the money entering the game and total money in circulation must drop until equilibrium is restored. I don’t think it’s that far off from doing so already.

Precursor prices are also capped by how much it costs to make rares/exotics to throw in the MF. If precursors cost 2000g and t5 mats cost today’s prices, there’d be little reason to not continuously craft rares and make precursors to sell for profit. If t5 mat prices went up accordingly to accomodate precursors costing 2000g (Lets say, to 7s) then we’re talking more expensive transactions as people sell those drops to people wanting to use them for crafting rares, yanking more money out of the economy than now (Over 1s disappearing from the game per t5 mat someone buys off the TP). Not sustainable, people use t5 mats for other things and would buy less of them and farm more, lowering price. Much like how if Tomatoes IRL started costing $5 each, it’d be a lot more attractive for people to start growing tomatoes in the garden instead of buying them at the grocery store.

Not to mention several hundred g leaving the game via the 15% tax every time one precursor sold.

That said, the calculation should simply be “Can I get lev 80 rare weapons of that type for less than 1/5th the cost of lev 80 exotics of that type”? If the answer is yes, go ahead and use rares. You’ll probably need to craft them yourself to meet that criteria but that’s not a big deal.

Minion of Vey.4398

I wouldn’t sell it unless you’ve really decided you don’t want it.

If you can put it up for profit after clearing the 15% tax while still having it at a price people will pay, it isn’t going to be profitable for much at all.

It cost 1200 to make you say. Lets say you put it up for 1500 (which is still only 1275 back to you after the tax). It’s easy to make, the only side stuff being used is the skill points. Why would someone buy it for 1500 when they could just buy the mats themselves, level up artificing themselves if they don’t have it already for a couple g and make their own gift of lightning? The rest is just a forge recipe.

What’s more likely to happen is you put it up, the entry is now biddable, and after people start putting in buy orders others will make it and undercut you.

This isn’t like buying a legendary off the TP where you’re opting to spend extra gold in place of something meaningful (a million karma, hundreds of skill points, 500 WvW tokens, gift of exploration, 500 dungeon tokens etc).

Here we’re talking about you asking someone to pay a few hundred g extra just to not bother leveling artificing and spending 50 skill points.

Could it sell anyway? Well it’s the first one apparently, maybe. And if people don’t bother considering how to make it at all. I would figure people looking to spend 1500g on a vanity hammer are at least relatively competent with money though, enough to consider what it costs to make it themselves. If they do, there’s no way they’re buying it.

Too much risk for not enough gain. Keep it.

That would be boring and long(as in, months long).

I would much rather have some dungeon. An extremely long and hard dungeon(hard as in, it requires a lot of coordination, teamwork, and thought process, not just 50 level 85 npcs coming at you). Upon completion, you will be awarded with a precursor. If the entire team wipes, you have to start all over. It will involve a bunch of things-from dragon slaying, to Jumping puzzles, to actual knowledge regarding the GW universe and it’s lore. The dungeon itself should take a minimum of 5 hours to complete, but it should be well thought out and fun.

That’s how I would do it…at least >_>

Then we’d just be replacing complaint threads about precursor prices with complaint threads about the difficulty of the dungeon. Probably more so, since you can’t buy your way out of it.

People raged about the difficulty of the Mad King tower the entire halloween event, and that didn’t even give you anything but some paltry achievement points and a non unique boot skin.

Precursor Prices

My suggestion: Buy your precursors with an order and wait. Don’t buy the ones posted, period. If that means babysitting it to rebid when people bid above you and the price still is fine to you, then have at it. If one person places a high bid, Like 50g higher than what has been the norm recently, you aren’t going to jack up the price by outbidding him…oh no. You’re going to just let him have his high bid and get the next one.

If you see the cheapest one listed at 800g and think “oh no! They’re up again!” Don’t sweat it. That person is about to get undercut like 20 times. You’ll see it sitting there.

Then eventually it’ll disappear. It won’t disappear because it sold, you’ll be able to confirm this by the fact that the prices that undercut him are still sitting there. it’ll disappear because the person either pulled it to fill one of the buy orders or they relisted it back at the bottom (obviously much cheaper than before).

You’re still not going to buy the “cheap one” though. You’ll let the market come to you instead. Someone’s going to get tired of looking at their precursor buried in the list with 8 below it and they’re going to pull it and sell it. Be the guy with the high bid so you’re the one it goes to. Several orders are filled for them each day, you can see them clear on the tracker.

Minion of Vey.4398

Just like to repeat the note that the vast majority of profit from pent/shelt comes from blues and whites. In Jiro’s examples (discounting exotics as Jiro did not include those in the 6g/hr), roughly half of the earnings came from either coin/vendor trash loot or heavy moldy bags. Another 20% or so came from fine crafting materials. Only about 20% came from rares. Salvage materials (white), unid dye (white), and rounding error accounted for the remaining 10%. Those 3 hours ended up netting 3.25g/hr in moldy bags and trash alone.

This is my experience as well. If I’m in a party and we’re getting good tagging, 3g from the bags, vendor trash, and t5 mats is about right.

All DR seems to do is diminish your chances at getting the good stuff it seems. Rares and T6 mats. Maybe unid dyes but hard to tell with those. Like the opposite of magic find. In fact I don’t bother running MF at all while running these events anymore based on this assumption and it seems to bear out. I get the same amount of stuff whether I’m wearing MF or not after I’ve been running pen/shelt for a bit.

4g an hour while getting nothing good at all for drops is what I’d consider average for the place if you’ve got good mob tagging going. Less if pen and shelt happen to go off at the same time, though that can usually be made up for by hitting Plinx at some point without missing anything.

If someone’s not getting at least 2g an hour there then one or more of the following is true:

1. Not in a party.

2. Party is scattered/using lots of single target attacks/poor placement of attacks.

3. The player themself is not tagging enough mobs, due to weapon choice, player skill, poor placement relative to mob spawns, or a combination.

4. Player is periodically missing pen or shelt events due to not paying attention to map, going AFK too much etc.

5. So many players there that it’s hard to tag mobs before they die. There’s actually quite a few servers where this is the case in the evening. Guest to a lower pop server for your pen/shelt session if this is the case. 20 players around is good. 60 players around means you need to guest elsewhere.

I call into question people CONSISTENTLY making 6g an hour there. My drop quality doesn’t regularly coincide with that, but that could be an issue with varying DR or more likely the issue they’ve pinpointed with tagging getting exp but not loot based on certain conditions (which is apparently going to be fixed). So it’s not much of a stretch.

Are you certain they’re being relisted?

People do buy several a day.

I bought a Spark for over 500g about a week ago with a buy order. It’s gone, I made an Incinerator with it.

Quite frankly if someone has the kind of money to be fiddling with flipping precursors they could do a much higher return in other areas. Goofing around with buying precursors for 600g to put them up for 800g and be undercut 15 times isn’t exactly a prime way to use money.

The amount of profit with that can easily be done elsewhere. That’s why it’s silly to say that all the precursors are owned by market manipulators. If they were, they’d be listed a LOT higher.

Exactly. More profit in fact. With much less risk.

They’re pretty high at the moment.

Sure they could go higher, but selling them probably isn’t a bad idea. If nothing else, one would figure there’ll be more bot produced goods showing up before long dropping the price once more (until there’s another ban wave).

Tips for finishing crafting my Legendary?

You absolutely should not be putting warhorns into the MF to make a warhorn precursor. The warhorn precursor doesn’t cost enough to make that feasible.

Use your tokens to buy rares (of any kind), and salvage them for ectos, which you need anyway. If you reach a point where you don’t need ectos anymore but still don’t have your precursor yet, sell the ectos and put the money towards buying it.

If you insist on using the tokens to buy things to put in the MF, at least try to make a precursor that’s valuable with it. Try to make a dawn/dusk/spark or something instead that would sell for 500+g. Costs the same to make one of those in the mystic forge as it does to make the precursor Howl. If successful, sell it, take the money and buy Howl, pocket lots of money.

But really, just buy the rares with tokens and salvage them for ectos.

I’m an elementalist.

I made an Incinerator recently. Thought it would look neat with a Corrupted Shard so I made that too. Now I’m working on some fun stuff like permanent auction, hair style, commander tome etc.

Then I’ll probably make a Bifrost.

When I’m done with all that, hopefully they’ll have updated the Scepter or Focus models with cool effects (Maybe even new weapons for the profession entirely will be available, who knows). Then I’ll go for that stuff too.

Because the only thing you, as well as about a million other “farmers”, post on the forums regarding obtaining gold is either the sort of vague post you just put up here, or you post methods that don’t truly work, such as using MF% (It DOESNT WORK — TWO GOLD after farming Orr non-stop for FOUR FRIGGING HOURS?! Yea…….THAT worked out well……pfffft).

So there it is: Pics, legit methods, or it didn’t happen.

If you make that little doing pen/shelt I’m assuming you’re not joining a group and thus not getting enough mob tags.

When you’re in a party, all the damage the group does is added up towards doing enough to “tag” the mob and get the exp/drops from them. You still have to hit the mob once to qualify for exp/drops, but you don’t need to do all the damage yourself. If the rest of your party does 6000 dmg to some random risen and you clip it with some tail end of an AOE for a few hundred damage or something that’ll be sufficient to get the exp and loot.

If the problem is that you’re not doing pen/shelt but just farming random things, then do the above. So there’s your specific information about methods.

I call into question the consistent 6g+ an hour numbers people quote about orr, but you should have no problem at all making 3g an hour in an active party even if all you’re picking up are moldy bags, t5 mats, porous bones, and whites/blues with no MF and bad luck. In an hour you’ll do 3 shelters and 3-4 pens. Between those 6-7 events you’ll probably pick up 2g just in moldy bags with good mob tagging. Add in the random t5 mats and whatever blues/greens/whites you vend or whatever, 3g should be the baseline. Of course your run isn’t going to be COMPLETELY void of t6 mats, rares, unid dyes etc. Any of that will bump up your income accordingly.

I know sometimes both pen and shelt are up at once and you can’t be in two places at once. If you do one and the other starts and ends, then there surely is going to be a time where you can sneak off and do plinx somewhere in there to make up for it. Oftentimes you can do pen/shelt/plinx even without the overlap for a couple loops.

If you’re on a low pop server and visit orr at times of day where there just don’t seem to be many people around to party with at pen/shelt, guest to a higher pop server.

Conversely if it’s mobbed with 70 people and even in a party you’re having trouble getting mob tags, guest to a lower pop one.

Single biggest thing over all else needs to be that the first thing out of your mouth when you arrive at pen/shelt is “LFG”. If no one invites you, “LFM” and let the people standing around ungrouped join you instead. Being in a group is the difference between making 50s that hour or 3-4g. Next biggest thing is making sure the party is all in the same place at all times, so you’re all around each other helping add up that damage to tag mobs. Third biggest thing is making sure you’re using AOE attacks to touch as many things as possible. Even if it’s not something you’re traited for or don’t use normally.

What I listed above is about all anyone could tell you. Hope you find it useful.

Is it still worth it to craft Legendary Wep?

in Crafting

Minion of Vey.4398

It’s worth it if you want to have one.

That’s about it really.

One could make a case for the fact that it’ll apparently always be best in slot according to devs, letting you avoid needing to get upgrades when ascended weapons come out (and anything beyond that, whenever that might be). I don’t think that’s really as meaningful as it sounds though. I suppose there might be multiple upgrades to what best in slot for weapons are over the course of the game but unless the game went an entirely new direction and really had a WoWlike treadmill for each item slot that kept progressing at a rapid rate, the effort spent getting the upgrades is almost sure to be less than the effort spent getting a legendary even adding it all up.

They’re nice for something to do. I made an Incinerator and I like it. But if one feels that it’s just going to take too long and/or the skins don’t interest you that much, feel free to pass on them.

Professions useless?

I recently read old posts (prior to release) by a GW2 developer on twitter that are kind of laughable now…

It was something along the lines of “We want crafting to be an integral part of the game and a good way to make money.”

Crafting is an integral part of the game. The majority of level 80 players are wearing crafted exotics. You need to craft to make parts for a legendary. All those useful foods we all use are crafted. Even if you don’t craft and just kill stuff and buy everything, the majority of the money you make from drops is from selling those drops to people that use the stuff for crafting. It’d be hard to make crafting more integral than it already is honestly.

Crafting is the best way to make money in the game. It’s comically more profitable than flipping. It just takes more effort finding what’s profitable to craft.

I’m not sure what people expect out of crafting. Do they want every random thing they make to be profitable? How could the game even function if that was the case?

Suggestions for Getting Gold?

in Players Helping Players

Minion of Vey.4398

Cursed shore events are decent.

Running some dungeons works.

Fractals are a decent source of money, can get the ascended gear while doing so. A lot of people shy away from them but they aren’t particularly difficult until very high difficulty levels (and going that high isn’t necessary at the moment).

Try flipping some items on the TP on the side with some of the money you made, that’ll get you some more money.

To break monotony you can always go kill dragons on the side, something to do and you might get lucky with something good from the chest.

I wouldn’t pick any one thing above and grind it out repeatedly unless that’s your thing. Cycle between different stuff.
