I don’t have any ascended armour and weapon sets or any runes and sigils at the ready but I do have lots and lots of money.
I’m going to wait for the final iteration of the revenant before I decide how to use it.
sensible.
Finally, after 3 long years we can start pulling out our shield skins! Thank you so much Roy for these changes looking forward to my new main even more.
You know, I bought the Dwayna skin to use on my Rev, but I kinda want to make to make Flameseeker now…
I’ve never key-farmed deliberately, so have no problem with this, though I think there should be an exemption for the first character created in a given slot. Missing out on something you would have otherwise received when creating a new character would be a bummer.
any chance to switch Nefarious Momentum and Vicious Lacerations?
You nerf sword because we cant get both sword trait.
These are no choose between 10% damage / 10% critical damage.
No, you misunderstand the change that has taken place. Assassin’s presence is now in the master tier. It is like Ferocious Strikes, only much better because it applies to your whole group and isn’t weapon specific. You don’t want a sword skill competing with that like it did before. If you were using vicious/ferocious before, use vicious/assassin’s (or ferocious/assassin’s) now. This is better by far.

Honestly the Shield 5 feels a lot like a rooted version of Guardian’s Shelter, but this skill is only on a 20s cd (plus the energy cost). Thumbs up from me vs its original variation.
Though I do agree that the capture-point prevention is a little odd since it’s not true invulnerability similar to other skills that have that gotcha added to their tooltip.
Yes, I like it a lot and think it is rather strong from a PvE perspective. Using it at the wrong time in pvp is still going to get people killed, making the trait something many people will avoid (assuming the root stays and because of unblockable attacks).

On the subject of Inspiring Reinforcement, I’m guessing since the stability duration isn’t being increased, the desired effect is for the stability to only be useful while standing on the road as opposed to on the move. If that’s the case, any chance of getting an additional stack?
It’s ok, he still has to pay 300g for each one.
People say this game is pay to win. ANet should make him pay with gems. There can be Mordrem Commanders in the gem store and if he needs a new one, he has to pull out his wallet and buy them.
pictures Mordy complaining about lack of discounted commander tag in Wintersday sale
Symbol of Energy: Increased missile velocity by 60%. Increased symbol damage by 10%. The initial burning impact now inflicts two stacks of burning, up from one. This skill can now be fired behind you.
I’m so confused. From Aug 26:
- Symbol of Energy: Removed the burning on impact (no other symbol has an additional effect, so this felt weird). Increased damage dealt by 10%.
Not everything I hoped for, but pleased with the changes overall. Thanks, Roy! The one thing I’m bummed about is the lack of changes to Inspiring Reinforcement.
Can you provide any updates on these bugs/issues:
• vengeful hammers being destroyed near terrain (bridges/walls/cliffs)
• issues with Hammer skills not hitting targets above/below you
• unrelenting assault failing to teleport to foe across uneven terrain and failing to activate near walls or getting stuck in them (thanks xarallei)
• similar issues w/ Grasping Shadow and Frigid Blitz across uneven terrain (thanks Rygg)
Any info would be appreciated.

I have the bad feeling it’s more of a “we can’t really fix it cause that’s just how the engine works” kinda deal, which is sad cause otherwise this is an amazing skill.
possibly, but a definitive answer would definitely be appreciated.
It’s ok, he still has to pay 300g for each one.
Gaile, I believe you meant early Thursday evening. As I recall, the new build became available shortly before reset. Didn’t want anyone to be confused by that.
Sorry but that is not very funny joke. Nice try I guess.
I thought it was funny,
I am right there with you. I got 60 blooms. That was supposed to make up, I am guessing, for the fact that I got only the daily chests for the first and second days of the event. I sent in bug reports, I posted on here, and my reward was 60 blooms.
The 2 days that I actually got rewarded ingame I got at least 90 for one cycle of the events and I did at least 2 cycles every day. I got a minimum of 120 blooms per day.
I am still trying to figure out how they could think I would be happy with 60 blooms. I am now regretting talking my best friend into coming to play with me but at least he is playing the free version and didn’t buy anything yet.
How many events did you do on Thursday where you didn’t receive rewards? That’s the only thing you would have received blooms for. Your post confuses me, because I have yet to hear a single person say they got have previously received daily rewards on Thursday, yet you aren’t happy with 60 blooms.
Strange.. i got sent 110 blooms iirc. Will need to check again later when i switch back to that toon but pretty certain that is right (and I thought it was way more than i should have got oO)
Yeah, it isn’t like there was a hard cap or anything. I believe I got 105 (30 + 30 + 30 + 10 +5). I was hoping/expecting 100 but couldn’t remember for sure how many events I did.
40 certainly seems like a peculiar number to receive. Just to double-check, are you absolutely certain you didn’t get any at the time?
I guess it would have been nice if the email said “Our records indicate that you earned XX blooms but have only been awarded YY so far, so here is the remaining balance of ZZ.”
FWIW, I received everything I had expected.
Kai, ignore them. You had a great suggestion and Roy had the good sense to recognize a great idea when he heard it. I hope you take pride in having a bit of influence on making the Revenant the class it is.
Working on it. I’ve only been playing for a few months, so I don’t have vaults full of ascended gear, though I am accumulating mats for them (and need to level some professions). I’m planning to infuse Mawdrey and change the stats on it. I need 4 more guild commendations and 2 more pristine fractal relics to have my trinkets covered. Meanwhile, I have a weapon skin I plan to use and am putting together some armor skins I think will work as well.
So yeah, getting there.
I got a mail containing the 55 blooms that I did not receive on the first day (two maps: 10+20 daily, + 5+20 daily, then I gave up playing for no reward).
My question is: Will we also be sent the vine-covered crates that we were supposed to get alongside the 20 blooms for the first daily completion of each map? They’re not as important as the blooms but they would be nice to have. It seems weird that you only gave out one part of the missing rewards.
Good point. I hadn’t thought of that. That would be nice, but I’m grateful to have received the blooms.
Once again no teaser for new elite specialization. Smh
another long gap between reveal like it was after Reaper…
Uhm…it is 8am here. Patience.
I like the Staff, personally. Re-making the weapon just because one Specialization trades ranged potential for melee potential is silly. If you want ranged potential, don’t roll Reaper, easy as that.
There’s still promised work on Axe from Robert Gee. Better make it work, might fill the niche.
As for Staff, revert the ally cleansing nerf from Putrid Mark, give it 1 more bleed on MoB and it’s perfectly fine.
Seriously, I love staff. If you guys don’t like it, use something else.
I have to stop and give props to the Lion’s Arch design team. It’s been a while since the redesign, but the old conversation between Crusader Fuseblight and Antonin about the statue near Fort Mariner tipped me off to something I hadn’t noticed. That got quite a laugh out of me.
Well played!
I wanted that char slot sale also. Somehow the 2 ANet gave me back then are now….. unavailable, so I need at least one more for my Rev to be. And maybe another necro. I’ve been thinking of a minion master condition necro….
I had hoped we would get at least one on a discount, but no big, really.
It hasn’t been released yet.
Except they don’t complete on their own, they are completed by players who don’t tag and run and end up getting stuck on 9 done when it would be easily 15 or more of taggers stay to help.
I’ve run out of fingers the number of times I got owned while manning a catapult or finding a catapult unmanned while defending it because someone got off a shot and ran off.
True. If I am at an event with a limited number of players, or if I come across an event with few players after I have hit 10 stacks (I spend to long at each one to get to 20), I make a point to stay and help. I was thinking more of the situation where a spot is mobbed by 30+ people.

A lot of the suggestions in that thread are similar to your own. I actually suggested moving the weakness to Vengeful Hammers. Changing the stability from pulsing to a one-time application might work. Certainly better than what we have now, but much less prone to wackiness like the old version.
(edited by Misguided.5139)
This!
So much this.
Also: getting ganked by the mobs that need to be cleared after the Vine Crawler Spawner has been destroyed because everybody is running away like possessed to have time for another event.
But the truth of the matter is that leaving those mobs for someone else to hit benefits other players. A lot of the behavior being decried as “selfish” actually benefits the majority of players. While I would very much prefer an event that rewards players for staying and completing each spot, and very much sympathize with other players that feel the same way, it directly conflicts with the design of this event. Sad, but true.
its easy to farm obi shard at silverwastes so thats a reason to not buy obi shards with karma
No, it’s really not. You can go through massive numbers of them making a legendary. If you need shards, karma and Silverwastes Re both great methods.
Well, I was hoping for armor skins, and we finally got some, even if I might have preferred something different. The makeover kit was very welcome, so overall the weekend was ok in my book.
As to how Revenants exist before Rytlock returns, I’m going to lean on the concept of morphogenetic fields. Basically, once Rytlock became a Revenant, the fact that this new thing existed echoed through the mists (and therefore space and time) and other Revenants simply came to be.
This might not be an ideal solution, but perhaps you might make a free account just to play with them? There are a bunch of limitations, including not being able to enter WvW right away, but you might look into it.
Need more info. What day was this? Did you get one bouncy chest or none? How many stacks of the buff did you have? Had you already done the event in the same zone since the last server reset?
I think you raise a really interesting point. Thank you for bringing it up.
To answer the question, I don’t think it would have been more fun because there’s no real sense of beating back the invaders. Perhaps if there had been some sort of meta-event, where you had to defeat x number of these things, then gather together to fight a bigger enemy (ala Silverwastes) it might have been.
In a perfect world, though, an event like this would be fun AND rewarding.
Or maybe we could get some boxes for those Asura to stand on.
obsidian shards
Yup, that’s where mine have been going as well, aside from the occasional armor skin purchase.
People didn’t like being overshadowed during their personal story. I hope there’s a branching option where we can betray and kill him.
The down side is that you are then stuck playing Caithe in every story instance from that point forward.
They’ve had several outfits now…some armor skins would be very much appreciated. At least by me.
GW1 was notorious for having our characters help the enemy and battle the good guys only to switch sides later.
Heh. I’ve been thinking with all the Mordrem Guard stuff that the key to beating Mordremoth will involve an assist from the Nightmare Court.
You know, on paper I thought Herald was going to be “set and forget”. And you could do that, but you won’t be coming close to reaching the potential. When I played in BWE2 I did a lot more toggling things off and on than I anticipated, but it was fun and even though I was still figuring it all out, not overwhelming.
Yeah but it was kind of broken for many before the reset on Thursday in the US.
Yeah, I think I did 4-5 runs but got no rewards (didn’t know yet about the daily rewards). That was before they announced anything and I was just crossing my fingers they would award stuff retroactively.
From 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time (UTC-7) on September 10 through 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time (UTC-7) on September 14
So it ends on Monday morning in the US, or 16:00 UTC Monday. It’s a 4 day event.
Assuming we receive daily awards earned prior to the reset on Thursday, you could earn daily awards for 5 days. With 10 stacks for each event plus map bonuses, that’s 450 total for doing each zone once per day without any extra runs. Still a fair bit of work for a couple of skins or a potion, but not crazy impossible if you hit all 5 days (and “Monday” could be Sunday evening after reset).
sigh..and if i am not mistaken, at reset we will have around 320 or so, and this will be the last reset before the event finishes on monday
There will be a reset in just over 4 hours from this post, and one more 24 hours after that.
Not expecting huge changes, but there’s no reason to rush to make gear. Wait a bit and see what happens.
I think the biggest indication will be if they turned Trahearne evil so we can finally kill him off. Then we will really know that they care about us!
You know darned well he is going to become part of the Mordrem Guard, but somehow break Mordy’s influence over him at the last minute to save the day.
You should be punished if you dont manage your energy well with Revenant and with Glint this never happens. The heal is also too strong, it needs either a better tell or a cast time.
It’s quite easy to use up all your energy regen (or even more) using facets, necessitating limited skill use to keep from running out. I would argue there is far more energy management with Glint. There simply aren’t any powers that can use 50 all at once, so you would typically have more time to realize you were starting to get low, but that doesn’t mean there is no management. Of course, if you use skills sparingly (as I tend to do), you will never have problems, but shouldn’t that be the case? But turn on a couple of facets and you could run yourself dry in no time with a weapon like staff if you wanted to. For me, Revenant isn’t about spamming skills.
The heal should definitely have a better tell, and I think that will be one of the changes we will hear about soon.
(edited by Misguided.5139)
No thanks. I don’t want to wait 20 seconds to switch legends. That would completely change the balance on our skills.
Shouldn’t profession balance be a collective effort of many devs, so they aren’t developed in vacuum?
It is. They work on balance changes as a team (Roy, Robert, Karl, etc.)
Because it’s likely when tested in house that they played as they thought players would/should play, till they finished off each one, rather than try to game the reward mechanism by running around and tagging each.
They simply don’t think selfishly enough.
Could be. But when considering any system, it’s always smart to consider boundary conditions.
Moreover, it has been shown in numerous games that many, if not most, players will do whatever they perceive provides the best reward, regardless of how tedious. I still laugh thinking about the Aion summer fun event that gave awards just for being logged in, which resulted in cities full of characters jumping up and down.
Good idea, but if I have to go back into Dry Top, I may cry.
There is a whole other thread where people are complaining about how OP Coalescence of Ruin is lol. Which one is it OP or garbage?
Neither.
