did Teq suddenly not be the easy Teq?

I find the Teq fight to be a lot more fun when I show up late. The earliest I enter a map is usually 5 minutes before the hour. My favorite one ever, I actually entered the map about 10 seconds before Slupsloop realized there was something in the water.

The fight is boring to me when the map is organized, but when half the defense teams don’t exist and everything is chaotic, when the timer ticks below six minutes before the first battery phase, when the fight actually has a chance to fail, it can actually be quite a bit of fun.

Currently glint’s regen (combined with prot boons) is superior to ventari healing for sustain

Unless, you know, there’s a second source of regen anywhere in the party. I love Glint, but Glint is not the better choice for healing support over Ventari.

As for the Jalis taunt, I’d rather make the duration increase from the trait baseline and give the trait something else. The ability on its own doesn’t seem worth the cost with a 2-second duration

Revenant doesn’t strictly have an unblockable effect,

You forgot malicious reprisal in Devastation (unless this is getting changed and I forgot), which makes attacks unblockable for 5s after getting blocked (30s cooldown)

Shared Empowerment & Facet Synergy - broken

Changing the way facets tick for Share Empowerment will just get it nerfed. Currently, with Facet of Nature, Facet of Strength and a rune set like Strength you get 12 stacks of permanent might. Just increase the ICD to 3 seconds and call it a day.

It doesn’t need a change. It is fine as it is.

Defense has can actually fail rather fast if people don’t stomp holes at north. I saw one fail last week in less than half a minute. Pretty sure I was the only one stomping holes.

As for the explosion that killed a bunch of people, that happened in that same run as well. As mentioned above, I think that is because of the creepers, but not sure.

On Saturday, I was having problems in Orr getting UA to activate. I was literally standing right next to an opponent on what appeared to be flat ground and getting a “no path to target” message. Of course I didn’t think to take a screenshot, and when I tried the next day, couldn’t get it to work.

There were some good suggestions regarding ways to balance UA a bit for 1v1 after BWE2 without gutting the skill for PvE use, like having a damage spike at the end of the skill that would hit the main target. So far, at least, they have chosen not to implement any of those. With the number of complaints about it, though, I have to think it is at least on the radar.

But by looking at their reasoning behind the complaints theres no hold to it. Its standard qq by people who got mad ingame cuz clueless and then they turn to the forums filled with baseless accusations. This has proven to be the case countless of times, hundred blades and rapid fire qq being clear examples.

And I’m not saying it needs to be changed. The point is that there were a number of suggestions that COULD have been implemented if the developers felt a change needed to be made. Thus far, they have made only small adjustments, like changing the cd. Whether that means they are comfortable with where it is, or they are just taking a wait and see approach, I couldn’t tell you.

You can’t just compare 2 arbitrary skills from 2 different professions, on weapons designed for different purposes no less.

Guardian hammer 1 gives perma protection! Why can’t rev hammer give perma protection as well?

Exactly. You have to look at the entire range of abilities on the weapon and the role they perform for the given profession. Revenant Hammer 2 has 1200 range, why doesn’t Guardian hammer 2?

Comparing Revenant hammer 2 with guardian hammer 2 simply because they both happen to be hammer skills is nonsensical. That makes as much sense as comparing Fire Ele staff 5 to Druid staff 5

I would love seeing Coalescence of Ruin turned into a ground targeted ability

The cooldown is way too low for that to make any kind of sense. I think that would feel terribly clunky.

If I want to use an evade skill, it needs to be instant. Sword #3 needs a shorter cast time before the evade is active. Reduce the damage and might gain, but also reduce the cast time prior to the evade.
A skill that I can compare this to is burning speed. I often use it just for the evade when I am taking heavy pressure.

No, this is an offensive skill that was given a defensive component because it was a death sentence without it. It isn’t truthfully intended to be a defensive skill. It is already very strong. The last thing it needs is a buff that would make counter-play even more difficult. If anything, the cast time should be a bit longer.

My one big, massive huge complaint on Rev was the skill lag time on upkeep skills. ALL of Glints skills could be switched on/off instantly. Every other legend’s upkeep skill had a 1-2s lag (after swapping legends) before i could activate them

Hmmm, this sounds like it could potentially be related to the energy issues on legend swap people have described.

Energy regen rate after legend swap

As SyDragon said, this particular interaction is not a bug. You will not be able to activate IO if any other upkeep skills are running, because the maximum upkeep allowed is -10.

I know what you’re saying, but what I was seeing was that if I had some facet upkeeps going including facet of nature, if I popped F2 to get the boons and then pressed F1 to swap legends, I’d still see it take 2 or 3 seconds for the regen rate to reset itself so I could activate an upkeep on the new legend.

And I wasn’t addressing that at all. I was specifically referring to the one interaction, which is why I worded it the way I did.

As to what you are referring to, I have seen it suggested that it is might be due to the fact that the facets pulse every three seconds. I agree that it makes legend swap feel clunkier than it ought to.

Misguided.5139

So you’re saying there are 2 revs in party and one is already in glint spamming regeneration? Then yes I completely agree Ventari would heal more because an extra regeneration would do nothing. But thats kind of like saying a warrior running phalanx for might stacking is worthless (but only if there is already a warrior doing it). I guess I just dont understand the logic?

There are MANY sources of regeneration in the game.

Revenant is actually quite easy to get into (not necessarily master) once you stop trying to play it like other professions. You don’t necessarily have to constantly swap weapons/legends to be effective. I find it far less complex than Mesmer, elementalist, or engineer. To me, the closest analogue is probably Necromancer.

It’s possible that it doesn’t work for technical reasons if it tracks the player position.

If it doesn’t get fixed…. Sword AA is the strongest AA in the game at the moment. I didn’t have a chance to compare the raw dps to UA, but it is likely quite close.

A LOT of Revenant dps comes from auto-attacks. It kind of has to be that way because of the way the energy system is designed and the fact that most of the utility skills support AA dps rather than providing burst damage themselves.

It seems pretty reasonable to me to have the particle effects fade when not in combat or when your weapons are stowed. Sometimes I like seeing my full armor set without particles over them non-stop.

Perhaps they could fade after a minute or so out of combat?

Or perhaps be a bit softer OOC, so it could kind of flare when entering combat?

I think adding a toggle specifically for this is unlikely because of the back-end engineering & UI work required.

They do seem to have a lot going for them. My main is a guardian who I play as a tanky support, but after playing the druid and revenant, they seem very strong in comparison so far. The druid has a few issues of its own, like the celestial avatar meter building up too quickly when healing, but the burst is high. I might be wrong about this, but the revenant so far seems to take the guardian’s role and does a better job at it.

Actually, they go together like peanut butter and jelly. Guardian excels at a number of things Revenant isn’t so great at (stability (outside retribution trait line), condition clear, reflection) plus offer aegis, etc.

That is true. :P I was mostly worried about the Revenant’s condition clearing and powerful boon uptime in comparison to the Guardian. The Revenant’s Purifying Essence skill seems to be very good for removing conditions. I guess the small radius and the need to position it correctly are a bit of the downside though.

I think the number of people using Ventari will be modest. Most popular build is liable to be Shiro/Glint, which has zero condition clear, aside from possible single condition removal on legend swap. And if they are using Ventari, they are giving up a lot of offense to do so. In that regard, it is fair that they’d be rather good at healing/support. Boon duration increase from Herald is great, and makes all that stability and protection a Guardian is putting out last longer.

I’m jumping from Guardian to Revenant, but for my money, there is ALWAYS going to be room for both in a group. Revenant is good at lots of things, but they aren’t really masters of most of them. For instance, a Herald can put out a nice chunk of might, but if you have a phalanx warrior, then can put their energy into fury instead. They can adapt to group composition, which is One of the things I like about them.

They could be using the trait that gives more damage after a block, too. Anyway, as others have said, nerfing because of WvW zergs is silly.

Honestly not sure what we are supposed to see. The frame rate makes it tough.

According to the wiki, Engineer Rocket charge hits the same number of enemies for more damage on a shorter cooldown. Have you complained about that one?

That is why I have the combat log open for everyone to confirm what they see. Watch on HD and pause to see the exact numbers.

As for Engineer rocket charge. It doesn’t increase damage with distance and hits as hard as the first cascade from hammer 2. That isn’t a substantial amount of damage. The third cascade is what is doing stupid amounts of damage.

No, the numbers on the wiki (which could be wrong, of course) say it does more damage than the second hit.

Yeah, I love the idea of Jalis. I intend to use it as an off-legend for Glint.

I made or supported a number of suggestions after BWE2 and those still stand for the most part. For me, the heal and elite are in decent spots, so I will focus on the utilities.

Inspiring Reinforcement: apply multiple stacks of stability in an area at start of cast. Road pulses swiftness.

Vengeful Hammers: ideally changed to be a non-projectile AoE. Would love to see hits cause .5-1 sec weakness or (if changed to AoE) revert size decrease and apply damage reduction to allies standing in radius.

Forced Engagement: would still love to see a pull or shadowstep added to this. As of now, I don’t see using it. When I have tried, it doesn’t seem to do anything.

Sword 3 feels buggy now. For whatever reason, it’ll just not activate sometimes. I’ll have an enemy targeted, they’ll be well within range, and then nothing will happen when I press the button.

Apart from that bug, I’m loving everything about this profession.

It’s because it can’t find a path to the target. Yes, this happens even when standing right next to them in some places. It was happening to me in Orr earlier.

It’s pretty annoying at times. I don’t understand why they can’t loosen the parameters on the detection a bit, but wouldn’t claim to know all the intricacies.

To be completely honest, i don’t believe for a second that ascended will be REQUIRED for raids. It’s 5% superior to exotics.

This. The difference isn’t large at all, much less than having a solid build that complements the others in the group and good teamwork. If it were the case that you had to have builds that meshed perfectly, great teamwork, and ascended gear, the number of people that ended up completing the raids would be miniscule.

Might it give you a slightly larger margin for error? Sure.
