Everyone should just stop using the effective builds that have been found after playing this game for 2 years. We need soldiers signet necros, cleric d/d thieves, settlers s/f eles, assasins altruistic healing gaurds, etc.

Elementalist is one of the best team fight professions in the game. However, I don’t find them OP, except their heals. Get them low, heal up, low again, heal up. Just going water and dodging heals for over 4k.

Yes chilling those trash mobs is super helpful.
99.8% of the game users don’t give a cat about the 0.1% top pvp necros.
Out of the top PvP Necro’s, I’ve seen about 3 that actually give a F about how it works. Most just care about the numbers on screen/them winning.But sure, let’s strip the game down to 3 class’s. PapperMancer, RockWar & Squizzooorrrsss. That’d actually get the balance they want. I’d also soo cut you down to size as a Squizzzorrrss!

I would hardly call necro the faceroll 1v1 king, but I do play 2 other classes. Honestly I do better in 1v1s on a mesmer than I do on a necro.
I apologize if I seem argumentative with the 1v1 comments but I have been pvping in MMOs since 98 and it’s always the same some classes will beat others a majority of the time, but that same class might be horrible if you add in terrain differences, objectives, and player skill.
I still thinks it’s more about knowing your class and the opponents class and being able to determine if that’s a fight you can win or not lose long enough for help to come.
Yes there will be 1v1s, yes some classes and builds are better at 1v1s than others… none of that means my “sentence” is any less true

Yes its also very strong but it doesn’t have the burst potential or mobility of dd celestial ele. If staff ele runs zerker he can be easily shut down. I would also add that sf ele is actually very strong and I am surprised I don’t see more of them.
sf ele is too gimmicky to really be all that good in tpvp, it’s kind of like d/d 6/6/0/0/2 thief in that regard: it’s a really hard build to use successfully yeah, but the all in or nothing nature of it brick walls it’s viability.

Staff ele is still pretty mobile, I really didn’t mean zerker staff ele. I have tried it and it’s fun as hell but if a mesmer, ranger, thief etc even look at you wrong your dead.

Well before the ds nerf I would have said a spectral zerker spec would have become viable, still think it might be.

I think you are wrong about the one viable build, it depends on the comp your playing with and against.
kitten yeah dropping that putrid mark before the fight even starts and a brain dead engi completely missing with nades, hanging in plague too long when you have full lifeforce, epidemic for small scale fights all solid solid necromancer play I highly recommend anyone who doesn’t already play a necro to watch this video and just assume all necros are going to do this awesome tictacs.
I get that everyone wants to be famous, but not everyone is a pro myself included.

I was simply responding to the things he listed as our shortcomings which aren’t exactly true. I didn’t feel it was necessary to explain the real reasons necro isn’t desired in dungeons as I’m sure people have told him before….
It’s not paranoid…. the best way to know how to beat a class or build is to go play it and see what gives you trouble.
Also this game isn’t balanced around 1v1s the sooner you accept that the happier you will be =)
I just recently strated trying out the 4/4/0/0/6 double range shatter mes and it’s soooooo much fun coming from necro, I feel so mobile I can dodge alot and my dps and mobility are nuts. BUT if a ranger gets a rapid fire off on me he can pretty much one shot me if he’s lucky, d/p theives seem to be a problem as well and if you get condi bombed your pretty much dead.
None of the things you complained about are why necros are lacking in pve…. condi applies to all classes, stab not really necessary in pve, knockbacks snares stuns etc not really useful in pve most of the time, not ranging very often in pve, necros are very capable of damage and even a noob could take a zerk necro through a dungeon. The things you complained about are issues in other gamemodes, but we are actually ok in tpvp, and great in wvw.

You are also right I srsly need to l2p but I can’t even understand the simple concept that corrupting boons turns into a condition burst, or that other classes can turn conditions back into boons….wait whatttttt?
Or that the other classes that are removing boons typically aren’t doing it with skills that are solely designed for boon removal, they are stealing boons or bursting the kitten out of you while removing boons.

How is sustainable boon removal not better than burst boon removal that depends entirely on landing 1, maybe 2 skills depending on the spec?
Gais gais Koobi is all knowing, he play everything purrfect and he is the one who is the right est about game, double range shatter mesmer easiest class to play, infinite clowns, unending stuns, a majillion armor health.
There is just no chance another player could be good and outplayed him, that other player had some secret hack that let’s him insta kill koobi’s.
I’ve been playing double range 4/4/0/0/6 zerk shatter mesmer and I know I’m supposed to be squishier than almost everything but I actually feel more sustain somehow with the ability to disengage and just portal around lots of dodges and the damage is just insane.
Do you play a spectral zerker necro in wvw or tpvp?
If not then no your wouldn’t have an issue with it.
It’s not lazy…. I was letting it run down on purpose while life blasting for might. Once deathshroud is done pop bip drop marks 2 and 3 and maybe auto attack maybe transfer maybe try and interrupt someone ressing or stomping, swap to dagger horn hit kitten ds again and ds2 towards the person hit 5 and lifeblast again until it’s done then dagger time.
Holy kittening kitten man why is it so difficult for some people to just accept there is probably going to be that one build per class that is probably the best for that game mode.
Also lol at the comment about other people being mad someone else’s build might be better than theirs… the only ones whose jimmies seem to be rustled is you because your decision to use a rp build vs a meta pve dps build isn’t optimal and other players can tell. GO play with other role players and you won’t have a problem.
Changing the percentage needed wouldn’t help at all, well that’s not true it might, but it won’t solve the problems thus nerf has caused. The spectral necro can instantly get enough lifeforce to re enter deathshroud very quickly, now no matter what we are locked out of ds for 10 seconds. This basically leaves us defenseless for 10 seconds everytime we come out of ds.
But interesting how this is considered weak to conditions only because I don’t have a 3 condi transfer every 25 seconds and 1200 range. Is it that big of a loss? I would think 2 sec daze/swift/cripple/and some more vuln stacking/and a burst skill would make up for it…
On a class with more cc immunity it would, but we don’t have that as a necro, so for necro transfers = both defensive and offensive pressure where your method is purely offense but it puts you in a horrible position against some classes.
Anyone who keeps saying this isn’t a big deal has clearly not noticed how unbelievably awesome it was to use a full ds bar, pop a spectral or last gasp and be able to instantly reenter ds for that little bit of sustain we need or even to keep offensive pressure up with lifeblasts, or an extra fear, or an extra tele, or an extra immobilize. ..

The zerker build I had been using for a while now relied on using my lifeforce the immediately having more after using it all up and being able to re enter deathshroud…. it may be a bug fix but a nerf is a nerf is a nerf. How come we are only seeing it get fixed now?

Well the video is all in spvp so I’m guessing it’s an spvp build but I could just be jumping to the logical conclusion which is completely unacceptable on the interwebs
