Find a good group of people or a guild and you’ll be fine man. I don’t pve much but it’s not that we can’t do the content just that other classes typically bring group support along with dps, all we really have is dps so don’t try building a support build.

By only using metabuild.com you will never learn the game. Meta builds are found when you experiment. I’d recommend experiment. This game is so much more complex then hambow………

1) It’s metabattle.com, not metabuild.com.
2) You clearly haven’t visited the site yet. I agree the name can be misleading but most of the builds on the site aren’t meta builds.
3) I wouldn’t recommend experimenting until you master the meta builds for your class and reach the point where you understand why those traits/skills/etc were chosen. After that, you can start to experiment. If somebody is convinced that axe off-hand is good, then there is much to learn.
4) It’s been a while since since the last meaningful patch for most classes (I’m talking about new skills and traits, we haven’t got a single new weapon skill since launch for example). People have spent quite a bit of time experimenting with builds by now, and it’s safe to assume that further experimenting won’t give you a build that’s just as good as any current one.

A bit more about point 4. At least 1 new gamemode is coming soon, chances are many new builds will be made for those, even ones that are unviable in Conquest. As for Conquest, we need a major balance patch or an expansion to breath life into theorycrafting (and maybe we’re better off without it, last thing we need are viable spirit weapons and more passive/spammy play, for example PU mesmer)

metabattle or metabuild I’ve been to it and don’t care enough about it to remember the name. You learn through experience and experimentation (imo). The amount of builds in that site shows that people have not experimented enough.

Please don’t be naive enough to think you are going to discover some secret new build by experimentation. The game is old enough it’s all been done before and we currently know what builds are best at what. Thing will only change with patches but since anet never really patches stuff to crazy the builds don’t change that much. And even when they do screw stuff up with an op skill in a patch it becomes quite obvious even before the patch goes through.

Experiment all you want, all its going to do is lead you to something close to what a meta build is eventually since you will see more and more why people use those builds.

Also I’m not sure why you have such a strong hatred towards that website, I don’t think it is as widely used as you think.

Reapers might would have to change. We would consistently be at 25 stacks if our ds1 was that fast.

Plague you might have a case, but ds… no just no. This has been said many times but some people use it to flash stability, retal, fury, weakening shroud, heal on ds exit etc.

I think I’m going to agree with olrun here… equal skill the condi necro should win as long as he dodges the knockdowns and doesn’t stand in the giant firefield the warrior might stop him from capping the point for a bit but he should die. And to your point about all the war has to do is wait for help… well what if the necro gets help first….

I don’t think chill is a viable spec in tpvp.

Wouldn’t work in conquest, needs to wins. Even if they did a deathmatch mode the leaderboards would still néed to be determined by wins I think.

If you time it out right as it is right now you can make it heal you, it’s a little unreliable but it’s nice when it works.

I think the idea of using reapers protection and fitg is because he isn’t using a single stunbreak. Not that I agree with it but I see his reasoning.

For the future pal. No stunbreaks+no energy sigils= dead necro.

I find poc less helpful against those celestial classes since they are just boon spamming classes anyway. Sure in a 1v1 or 2v2 situation it’s nice but anything after that it’s suicide and not worth the damage you might take from using it.

Yeah I like when I see rangers on the opposing team on certain maps, they become so predictable I just wait a minute before engaging on the point until they go to their spot they think they can pew pew from, then as long as I dodge that longbow knockback I’m probably going to win.

What I was doing most of the time when using poc was popping sw or making sure I have a wurm in a good place using ds2 and then reverting the walk or burning the wurm.

I love corrupt boon on my condi necro but I am extremely hesitant on running path of corruption anymore, tbh my condi build I’ve actually swapped to lingering curses so I have no incentive to teleportation into the middle of teamfights. It’s an amazing 1v1 trait but I think you end up screwing yourself by feeling like you need to use it in a teamfight, I know alot of people are going to disagree with me but I have seen some top necros go for a dark path and then die…

Maybe it could be or source of vigor! But really I dislike regen as well for necro so maybe it could bounce vigor to us and our allies. Or possible might or protection…

I made it top 100 when I played soloq alot with a power build, it’s definitely possible.

I have also been using a zerker spectral build. This one is a little different. But I have been able to use it in teamq and soloq with some success. You can swap in generosity sigils, oh dagger and maybe even WoP if your having trouble against condis but I’m usually ok unless it’s 2 or 3 condi spammers

I post my builds in the necro forums all the time. At least when I have a decent one. I don’t use that meta battle website either.

I’m not justifying hiding builds… I don’t hide mine, and the people playing in the tournaments have their builds on display, the streamers typically tell you what they are running… Most people if asked what build they are running will just tell you…. again who is hiding their super secret op leet redbullesportsomfg build from you?

This community is less toxic than most but some people are going to be blunt and when you post kitten builds people will tell you they are kitten. Sorry…. so you have two options 1. Use the builds everyone else is and improve your gameplay. Or 2. Use your build and prove to everyone it’s viable.

Sc2 is 1v1 mostly…. and the builds matter soooo much.

Plague is actually still useful on power builds if your not just zerkers. Or even if you are it will let you get a stomp off.

That’s not true we would most likely lose poc terror necros or dhuum terror necro, or we could still do dhuum terror but we wouldn’t be able to have master of terror. It would change things quite a bit. But I feel like it would make for less build diversity for terrormancers.

Oh btw holl I was trying out spectral grasp instead of bip in the spectral zerkers build, I know you like it. It’s definitely worth a try for pesky rangers.

I only mentioned 10 stacks because that’s what you said you need the strength sigils to maintain.

That’s fine if you are determined to use celestial by all means do it but it’s probably not the optimal setup for a spectral might build.

This is a pvp build so let’s keep that in mind when making suggestions or critiques. The pvp builds use amulets and limited runes.

Also it would be nice to hear some other opinions on the topic of celestial necromancers and viability.

I really like this build but I have a question about it: why reaper’s precision over weakening shroud?

Often I got a crit of and that allowed me to enter DS to fire that extra LB to down the enemy. I just like DS regen, and I’ve gotten used I it because I use it my power build. But eventually it all comes to down to preference, but I don’t think 2 seconds weakness and some bleeds are worth it.

Reapers precision also procs when in ds letting you stay in ds a little longer.

I just have a hard time seeing this build with celestial being more effective than it with zerkers or soldiers.

I have no problem keeping 10 stacks of might without strength sigils.

The whole point of the other classes using celestial is to have sustain while maintaining damage, this build sacrifices sustain for kitten damage compared to just adding walk energy sigils and zerker amulet that would allow for some sustain and much much higher damage.
