Also @uber none if the those high level engis like chaith, oeggs, backpack etc play turret engis regularly. They know they wouldn’t be able to rotate and still be effective as a turret engi. So no they aren’t using that build.

I watched a bit of the video of tapdat in spvp and tbh I don’t think the people he was fighting are on the same level as the people the players on the list have to fight regularly?

If your sick of watching the “preppy cool kids” all fight each other over and over….. well here’s an idea get better instead of crying you don’t want to watch the same people. You do understand why it’s the same people right? It’s not some conspiracy against all players except them.

If you try and join GASM they will probably ask you some questions first and you’ll most likely end up in FPX until they feel you are worthy of the GASM tag.

No one is “acting” like they won some tournaments, they really did lol, and they didn’t just make their own tourney and then win it….. they play in tourneys that anyone can join. You should get your mouse buddy to enter the tourneys.

Your attempting to defend your personal opinion which is great, but I’m just looking at the pvpers body of work, most of the players on that list have won tournament or at least been extremely competitive in the tournaments.

But no Oeggs wasn’t on a turret engi. He was kind enough to q up with some lesser experienced players so we followed his lead and on the match I’m talking about we almost 500-0d the other team until they just went 5 to their home to finally take oeggs out, I think the game ended at like 500-8 or something like that. But saying that if all he does is 1v2 and 1v3 he shouldn’t be in teamq is kittening crazy, it makes him an invaluable teammate.

Actually, my opinion comes from playing matches with these guys, and yesterday Magic Toker was linking his twitch after every match, win or lose. And no, I’m not a WVW hero, I pretty much only pvp in GW2. I used to exclusively play in team Q because solo Q players often seemed less skilled, but lately I’ve been venturing into solo Q as well, which is where I saw Zoose and Magic Toker yesterday. It’s also where I’ve seen a lot of these other players, too.

I never said they’re not good players, and clearly they have a very aggressive fanbase, so hats off to them…

That’s just coming from a girl who loves to pvp. On this account (my second account which was created in June of this year) I’ve won 308 matches and lost 259 in team arena, then won 156 solo q matches and lost 123. On my old account I won about 500 and lost about 450 team q matches and won 407 matches in solo q while losing 373. (My account used to be called Lindsey.2691 but was changed to BEETLEjay.2459 and then I just quit using the account entirely and started fresh on this account for personal reasons).

You guys really shouldn’t jump to harassment just because someone disagrees with you. In fact, it doesn’t actually help your cause because it shows how much of a jerk you are.

I fail to see where I was harassing anyone in my post…. I just said it’s ridiculous when people come up and say the top players aren’t very good and some guy from soloq is better than them.

WoC, WoS, Lb, dagger 1, wh4+5, all staff attacks, ds5+4. Certainly seems like dps to me.

All the players on those lists are most definitely skilled players, OEggs teamqued with us (FPX)the other day and we were destroying people mostly because he would plant his kitten at far and proceed to 1v2 1v3 the other team giving us the advantage on every other point.

I always find it amusing when people decide that these players aren’t skilled and that random guy they know from solo q is so much better than all of them but cannot break into tourneys because it’s some sort of secret society or popularity contest. Morons.

I really don’t want to be a kitten but that build looks like it hits like a wet noodle besides the few fears. Could work if you had someone constantly giving you might stacks otherwise you would be 100% better off focusing on condi or power.

Yes, that’s something I never quite understood.
They have this weird obsession with balancing their game for a minority game mode that is often mechanically opposed to their majority game modes.

Causes all kinds of balance problems.

Seems to me like they balanced it correctly, any other configuration would screw up pvp way too much. By balancing it on pvp and giving pvers and wvwers more options the balance overall of wvw,pvp,pve isn’t horrible. Maybe for certain classes but not overall.

If they are decent at their class and fight in wvw well bring them to team arena, you run in to a few good premade but even against them you will have fun. Chances are you will win a couple games

I cannot fathom a theif kittening about power necros. If you can’t dodge the slow moving glow green ball that fires after a long animation… I mean occasionally your not gonna have enough dodges but here’s the beauty of it! What’s the best defense to make sure a necro doesn’t have enough ds1 attacks to hit you? Atttackkk him. No lifeforce no ds1 no entire class mechanic.

Yeah my thing was if you screw up the timing you can actually hurt your dps and your healing, but I guess latency usually wouldn’t be enough to change the timing drastically enough to hurt it.

Many macros can be assigned timings in milliseconds, ANet has 0 reason to communicate their logging methods, but it’s possible to check intervals smaller than milliseconds.

It’s also not about checking that a couple of inputs were executed with perfect timing. It’s about measuring a body of inputs and being able to see the variance that human error creates.

Even the most mechanically adept players don’t have the exact same timing when you’re measuring at millisecond increments and smaller.

Also I’ve heard conversations of attempts at methods to request from the operating system what mouse/keyboard are in use.

Ideally if companies could compile a list of known processes that can execute macros and make that a living list and request that the OS send back if a program is running that has a match to that list that would be another way of identifying who to check on to see if they are running macros.

Yeah that’s what I meant….. if anet is using some program that notices the time between cast of lightning whip and stow weapon is happening exactly .345 seconds apart everytime without fail will they ban them?

@kicast I was wondering about the latency thing too, would a macro made be consistent enough to benefit from the stow or would changes in latency effect the timing.

It has been made easier to obtain might stacks. Certain classes just need to have a decrease in blast finishers or fire fields. Cele is almost useless on some classes… it’s the stacking not the amulet. Sure people will still complain about Cele engis and eles sustaining too well while dealing damage but they won’t be hitting like mac trucks anymore.

Changes like this would need the entire game to be rebalanced…

I was told it’s bannable to make automated macros a la lightning whip stow weapon, the person told me they can see that the actions are too perfect.

If this is not the case then I have been putting myself at a disadvantage and will be using my k95 more efficiently now.

Well let’s not exaggerate with the necro corrupt boon is not 8 strips it’s 5, poc is 2 not 3. Terror necro had its bleeds and terror damage nerfed when they got dhuumfire, dhuumfire was reworked but the bleeds and terror were never readjusted. Reapers protections is fine and you can predict it despite what people who are unfamiliar with the trait seem to think.

@phoenix this game has to be balanced from the top down, if you balanced it any other way the top level play would become absolutely ridiculous, kitten like 5 of one class, etc.

If immobilize stacking was a huge issue you’d see top teams abusing it all the time.

Immob stacking rarely happens in high tier play because players know staggered immobs are stronger since they require multiple cleanses.

This game is not solely balanced around high tier play. If something is broken, fix it.

Necros have rp because they lack access to stability, blocks, vigor, invulns. I would trade rp for access to vigor or stab.

Also on the subject of shatter mesmers, I think op just mentioned it due to dudis posting all over the place how they are so OP. The truth is mesmers are OP against new players, against more experienced players they become less effective to a point

Don’t forget necros have to trait for one, and there is counterplay for it, whether or not people decide to accept there is counterplay to it is another issue. IF your going to CC the condi necro expect him to have reapers protection…
