Don’t put trait points into certain things based on stats kk. Your armor.is where your stats will come from pick your traits based on what they do for your build. If it happens to have stats that help well whoop dee doo. Also never played wow but I have played some other mmos and dot damage is easily cleansed in this game and there is a cap on how much certain dots can do.

Non-Crit Condition Build?

On hit in ds, also crit damage on some gear is changing. I’m thinking hybrid builds may be the way to go eventually.

Life Siphoning build

D/d staff. Full knights scholar runes for wvw omnomberry ghost and master oil. For PVE use full berserkers and scholar runes. Use siphon traits and wells cooldown also target wells for wvw, don’t really need it in pve but you can take it. You’ll be using deathly perception most of the time as well as ds cooldown traits but you can switch to fitg if you need it for certain areas

Another option that I use is 20/20/0/30/0 this build is going to have less crit damage but more base power and you’ll be flashing ds more than actually using it for damage. But until then fix ds locking you our of skills I don’t really like ds flash builds.

This has been happening to me in sPvP a lot recently, I don’t know if it is a new bug or what but I never really noticed it before until I started using a ds based build. Is this happening to anyone else? Are the devs aware? And when the hell is this going to be fixed, its bad enough I can’t use my heal or utilities for a second after coming out of DS but this is ridiculous. Even the people I’m fighting say they noticed it.

I like the way you think leeto. I have no idea why some people think its useless for some powermancers to use conditions at all…. Damage is damage and it certainly helps more with people who have high toughness low vitality also for sustained damage since as a necro we are sometimes heavily cced or just on the ground the whole time.

How is it not better to give it a buff keep the siphon number flat so it helps all builds not just the people who want to do kitten damage. I could drop my 30 in bm would I do more damage? Meh maybe.. maybe not id lose my well cooldown and the extra damage from vamp and I would no longer be able to facetank any boss in game without healing power on armor.I just don’t see how what your saying helps the necro in end game or in pvp it will make you hit like a wet noodle in high level fractals which would mean your all going to die because your dps just isn’t fast enough. If you did add a way for vamp to.heal party members then I would be open to it scaling.

Before you post again I want you to go out and get knights armor vamp runes berserker trinkets master artisan oils omnomberry ghosts drop 30 into bm take the 50% better siphon and the siphon on crit trait you will facetank the crap out of anything and do verygood damage depending on where you put the rest of your points.

Yes. I have. If its scaling that well with healing power its going to be ridiculously op for someone with 1400 healing power unless it has some sort of diminishing returns have any of you considered how selfish of a healer build it would he if it scaled with healing power?You really need to gear that much to healing when its only going to heal you?

It needs to be buffed no doubt but if its done with a flat number it benefits all builds without pigeonholing you into using clerics, magis, or I can’t remember the condition one lol.

It will limit you more than it will diversify you leaving it flat would allow all builds to continue to use it. When I first started this game I too thought it should scale but now I see why it doesn’t. Don’t just throw out the number it does per hit without including food and traits and runes and sigils. If you spec into vampirism it works trust me its also giving you a damage bonus. The only real build this scale with healing would help with is minions.

No what you all are saying makes no sense there is no armor that has healing power and precision if you scale it with healing power your going to try and use clerics and nerf your damage but your also nerfing you siphons because you’ll never crit. Double lose. Either scale it with straight damage not power or leave it flat and just increase the total amount siphoned.

If your going for something that makes sense lore wise it would scale with damage but the siphon also adds damage then you would have straight zerker necroes that are dealing insane damage meanwhile never dying unless cc’ed like crazy which due to that build probably not having access to stability actually kind of makes sense…. Still seems op.

he soldiers mm is usually what I run in tpvp and spvp as well yeah it takes forever to kill you to the point where your minions can die and get back up before they can do enough damage to kill you.

Well in all honesty it probably needs a buff in tpvp with no access to maintenance oils and omnom ghosts or pies and no real knights amulet it won’t be as effective as it is in wvwvw and pve. In wvwvw I can usually fight multiple opponents and not die unless its just ranged fighters give me problems sometimes.

If your running vamp necro chances are your also running sigils and runes and food for siphoning. If you buffed the traits siphon too much along with buffing the life force gain WE WOULD NEVER kittenING DIE EVER. It needs to.be done carefully.

Potential leak of 6/25 changes

we use spectral walk we become super fast and could potentially gain lf faster than people could knock us out of it in the middle of a zerg plus we can basically aoe the kitten out of everyone with ds4 and 5 not to mention perma stability. I can’t wait to kill an entire zerg 1v40.

Edit I mean using sw and immediately hitting ds.

Good dps power build for roaming and WvW?

I run a tankier lifesteal build that focuses on damage mitigation while maintaining high toughness knights armor vamp runes berserker jewels berserker weapons, 20/20/0/30/0 I can beat most classes 1v1 even 1v2-3 depending on the skill level of the players I’m fighting the only real problem I have is people are usually able to get away from me.

Knights armor vamp runes zerker trinkets. 20/20/0/30/0.
d/d a/f sometimes staff. Consume conditions or if stacking use the heal well.then WoC WoS WoD. You can swap out the wod for something else usually spectral walk.

If we were able to go in and out of ds that fast we would have 100% fury uptime pretty easily as well as mitigating all sorts of damage and of you took the stability trait you would have 100% stability uptime too. Seems far to op.

No you most certainly should not be able easily kill people with a max range weapon. That is not balance imagine how stupidly op it would be to be a staff ele in zerker gear and drop someone with ccs and damage before they can even get close. The staff might need something of a buff but it shouldn’t be damage.

The biggest difference I’ve notice is this game works like one I played in the past where yes some classes excel a little better than others at some things but everyone is still expected to do a little bit of everything on their own. Take healing your expected to worry about your own health so learn how to kite and how to disengage and heal when you need too its not like the holy trinity games where as long as the tank is tanking and the healer is healing everyone else is free to do what they feel like.

It only feels like random chaos if you want the holy trinity. S/d ele might be better than d/d it just takes longer to pick up and doesn’t feel as fluid. if your groups are having trouble finishing any content besides high level fractals its a l2p issue.

Do not use earth dagger 5 in pvp ever unless your holding a point or you like dying, everytime I see a ele use it pvp I nuke them with everything I got.

I have gotten the best results in 1v1s using berserker armor divinity runes and clerics accessories.

I think Pvt is almost always a mistake.

Well its kind of hard to explain when you ask a question like that. Technically you want both but your probably only going to able to do that with berserker gear. When it comes to life siphoning builds I think knight’s or berserkers are your best options, what I usually do is use a much berserker gear as I can if the group or I start having problems I switch to knights which usually makes you a dps tank as the only way your build works is by staying in thr thick of things and you also take aggro from the rest of the group.

Coming from Ultima Online another game that didn’t use holy trinity that was one of the best PvP games in MMO history I love that I’m nit relying on someone else to keep me alive.

The siphoning adds to damage and works as damage mitigation. Sounds like a pretty good combo for zerker… I have a zerker set with vamp runes hits pretty kittening hard.

Wells will be a better burst heal if your in the middle of a bunch of mob, I think the heal on crit is a better sustained heal and it really forces you to get better at constantly moving and dodging while keeping your dps as high as you can.

If you got more precision you would end up healing even more per second using crits to heal, the well heals are nice and all but I found the crit heals to be more effective in the long run, I hate waiting for cooldowns to heal. You would also deal more damage.

Maybe the traits are being wasted but I don’t think we need more dodging and we certainly shouldn’t be able to attack while dodging. Don’t even get me started on theives, the kitten you can do as a thief in pvp and wvw if your really good is laughably epic.
