@andele I was referring to the bug where damage is being done to our real hp even while we are in DS.
Siphon builds I’ve found work best with knights and stacking as much steal health on crit as possible. Wouldn’t really recommend it for anything other than 1v1 or pve… If you get cced your whole build is kittened.
Spectral ds builds will be viable once they fix the ds locking out 6-10 and taking real damage in ds.
At the moment minions are too unreliable. f they were reliable they still have low mobility. If you run into 1 or 2 people you might be able to win the fight but running into more people you’ll probably die.
Pffft your crazy no one ever hits the wrong button by accident or blows a skill when they shouldn’t have you are clrearly the only one who ever does that on a necro…..
not for nothing but does anyone actually have trouble capping a camp quickly….. I can do it on my uplevels…..
Well for starters don’t use condition damage with minions. Wellomancers are great at clearing camps but awful at most 1v1 fights. Spectral builds are good for 1v1 or a 30/20/0/0/20 terromancer is great for small group fights and 1v1s. Minions suck in wvw.
Minion necro should be easy right now if you cc the necro as soon as he burns his wurm you should be able to kill him. Focus on cc and aoe. The minions are messed up right now if you can’t kill a mm now your screwed when they fix em again.
Conditions are optimal in roaming wvw and spvp and tpvp… Power.rules dungeons and open world. Minions are good at open world and when the minions aren’t running around like headless skirt they are good at tpvp.
Taking real damage while in deathshroud.
It is sad man but with the necro… Just be glad we got fix man. I can’t wait to play my ds spectral necro without being locked out and I can play my old shroud dance build again.

I would say it depends on traits, but as far as bloodlust and perception go I keep a spare weapon to build those up and then switch.
I like the staff utilities just increase attack speed lower the damage and LF gain.
Wow I’ve actually found my zerk mesmer the easiest character I’ve leveled so far… I never even have to use my heal.
As an ele you can heal your whole health bar very quickly heal in water.
His build looks more effective at 1v1 and tpvp fights mine is a strictly wvw build.
This is a wvw wells build I use a mix of gear but it would work just fine in full ptv.

Right now even without aoe just focus down the minions and the mm necro is dead…. Or if you have cc that necro is dead as soon as he burns his wurm.
It’s a pseudo stunbreak…. It’s like eles lightning flash… Not technically a stunbreak anymore but if your stuck in a well or getting cced you can hit it and get away from the cc.
Actually there is technically two stun breaks… Teleporting back to where you started to walk is a pseudo stunbreak.
Just raising the Condi stack cap would be an extremely significant improvement… But it still would be second tier to power in pve.
In pve you either play the 30/0/10/0/30 or some variation moving that 10 around where you see fit or your really not using an optimized pve build. Now with that said play whatever you want and enjoy screw everyone else.
Also above where someone stated you can’t lose or gain health while in ds that is so wrong. You cannot gain hp in ds but you can definetely lose it.
Necros arent much faster and at least mesmers have blink. Sounds pike you would be more comfortable on an ele. It really doesn’t taken long to figure out the rotations. Just remember as an ele you are super squishy.
We necros are beast mode in wvw drop your marks drop your wells warhorn 5 plague form 22222222222 come outta plague life transfuse rinse and repeat.
I don’t think what your looking for is really viable…. Or its not going to be optimal and you may struggle in some content… I would go with the bone minions or wurm as your secondary pet though. Also minions are in a horrible place right now… Ai is very broken.
My necro killed a warrior the other day in wvw and when I pressed f to finish him at the end of the animation I got insta killed no downstate while he rallied.
You gotta be kittening kidding me. I was so kittening happy with my vamp mm necro in spvp of course they find a way to screw it up. So mm is dead again, ds spectral builds are screwed because of how ds is bugged. I hate Condi builds but I guess ill be playing that in PvP again.
No. Don’t be so twitchy some necro builds utilize exactly what your talking about some call it flashing ds. If all your useful ds skills are on cooldown but you still get fury or weakening shroud or stability from flashing ds it can help a bit.
I love the idea of vamp siphon builds, but it is a very slim margin between total kitten and op, most likely we will never be satisfied with siphons because anet is too afraid of making an unkillable tank with decent dps. Although seeing how we can’t even stay on our feet to attack our siphons currently need a buff. Maybe SoV should give stability or vigor.
I am having a blast on my new mesmer.
If all they fixed was ds locking you out of skills and making sure we no longer take damage to real hp while in ds I would be quite happy.
Seriously why are they so reluctant to fix necro bugs that hurt us but are quick to fix the ones that could actually help us.

The only way a vamp necro would work in pvp would be with additional access to stability or vigor. Otherwise your traiting for something that is only useful when your attacking on a wells build you might not have a stunbreak or you will only have one. Sure you could use wop for a whopping 3 seconds of stability. Leeching works great for pve at least imo but its kittening useless in PvP unless its a 1v1.
Are you usually a top player in the 8v8 spvp or in tpvp because there is such a huge difference. Yes you can beat a bad mm necro because your all aoe and minions don’t know to jump out of them. Every other player will especially any decent pvper in tpvp is just going to laugh at your wells and range you for 5 seconds then come in and stun lock you.
Happens to me everytime I come out of ds, I believe its because they changed it to a “transformation” ruins fitg for me. Ruins ds flashing builds. Ruins ds based builds. Just be happy you don’t notice your real hp bar getting hit while your in ds as much as I do =(
Until the nerf happens I play a 0/0/20/30/20 minion master in PvP with soldiers and it takes a lot to take me down. I put dwayna runes on for a healing bump and reduced ds cooldowns axe focus staff. Heal your minions with life transfer and laugh as you barely ever die.
Necro shouldn’t “need” a well to finish a downed player, and wod is not like an kittening heal the amount of health you get back is laughable.
Wells suck in PvP unless you can burn all someone’s stunbreaks and stun them in the well. If they were larger and hit faster even if its for less they would at least do something.
I like the idea of the wells hitting faster but for less damage per hit with the same total as they are currently if all the pulses hit.
Please oh please fix ds locking us out of skills.
Real healing in ds, ie hitting someone with vamp signet and going into ds should heal your real hp or maybe even generate lf, ds being broken locking out of skills, siphoning itself needs a buff while nerfing minion siphoning.
^ this. I play a wellomancer in pve and I guess they are fine in pve… But in PvP they absolutely suck. No moron is going to stand in one and its difficult to lock someone down long enough for them to be effective. Something needs to be donee with them…. Increase in size or duration or reduced cd.
We are worse off, we used to be able to take giant hits with ds, we didn’t get locked out of skills by flashing ds, we didn’t take real damage even while.in ds. We did get some buffs but our main class mechanic is broken.
I’m all for necros banding together and whatnot but I honestly don’t think anything we do is going to make the devs do anything different with our class. We will get buffed we will get nerfed its the same as any other mmo, I enjoy playing my necro more than any other class I’ve tried in this game and I will play my necro as long as this game is active. All I ask is they fix certain bugs going on with our main class mechanic because our one advantage is completely kittened right now. We should not be locked out of our skills for 2 seconds after ds and we should not be taking real damage to our hp in ds I know some people have said that that is rare but I kittening disagree I take damage to my hp all the time in ds and its driving me nuts, give us back our ds damage buffer so we can take those huge hits or give us a way to stay on our feet 3 seconds of stability is not enough.
