Perfectly agree with op.
Its the reson i am rushing the game and cant settle with 1 class at a time.
I have to hurry up and level to max and explore and kitten, because then i cant take part in “events”.

Thy for the good feedback. I will look into it…these are actually the only dungeons i did so faar, even if i have an lv 80 thief.
…The theme and atmosphere was realyl good (old school d&d), but was kind of dissapointed in the combat. So i guess later instances might be even a lot of fun.

Hi ppl!
(in advance sory for my terrible english)

So i returned after a half year of pause, since it seems decent content is getting added. But i have the same old trouble with the game…i cant chose a character i like. Trough now i shall be playing with a friend that playes a Thief. So i was wondering to roll something that can support well.
Last time i played ele in Caldicus Manor i was destroyed constantly, but did quite well in Ac. I see that it has many heals, and ppl say a lot of buffs…but i am not sure how it actually is….the “suppor” heals buffs seems a bit useless to me in this game.
So i am not sure. Ele seems fun, and might fit my play style, but i was wondering abaut Mesmer, that seems more viable right now considering patches (expsecialyl in pvp) , but i dont personally like that “illusion summoning” play style. Or atleast the “shatter” part of it…(totally useless if someone is up on a hill.) And not evne sure Mesmer can offer a decent healing or support, trough it has a lot better weapon selection then Ele, and seems fun to experiment with item looks. (some swords look really good)

As for last i thout abaut Guardian, that ppl say is good support, can even tank, and heavy armor looks amazing, but sadly there are SO MANY, that anytime i go out and play i see warriors and guardians, and that takes my mood away to play it.
Engineer also seems fun, and elixirs seem to be usefull for support, but then again, it is using kits mostly instead of “real” weapons, and that destroys the point of obtaining item skins…not to mention they dont realyl have to many options on it anyway, compared to other classes.

So anyone got any suggestion what is a decently viable support class right now?

I personally think its a abaut kitten time, this revolution of gaming starts.
Not to mention Gw2 alredy improved the whole genre, why not improve the whole gaming?

I mean c mon….Who cares for “ratings” . My 6-7 year old kids behave better and sen more things from this worlds cruel side, then some 40 year old fasts living in US, that flame and blame constantly in LoL.

Why is it a “drawback?” for gaming? I personally think its a graphical and expression drawnback. Considering “gore” is an expressive tool as moch as any other “effect” or anymation in gaming. BUT it has to be realistic, not overreacted. IT has not to splash araund like in a zombie movie. It might be even simbolic, if well made and gives the “gore” feeling.
Why do i say that? Because, if you see an extremely well made character and its textures (graphical engines are almost realistic now) you hit it with a sword, and get a red flashing effect….destroys the whole thing…..Not to mention the reaction of the “body”, it squirms a bit and thats all.
i pesonally like the engineers overcharged shot, because it throws him back to and it seems a bit realistic. The body physic is realistic, and thats how it should be in combat.
I dont mean it has to splish-splash each time you cut something…there would be rivers of blood. But 1 or 2 times it would be nice to se some parts fall of or atleast animations like in Dragon age (jump on the ogre and finish it off)

I still think this whole “oh the gore its so bad” is a fluffy dream american dreamed up, when in FACT they are the ones that varely seen anything cruel of this world.
we here in Eu are open minded and realize, “gore” is a part of life as exspecially in a game, where there is war and constant strifle for life.

I think its time for revolution and i support this 100%

I actually agree on the armor things with “Stice”.
But as stated above…its an OPTION. Not forced to be of as default.

IIts good to see, that thedevs think actually the same way like i do.
The word “quake” like came to my mind exacly when i first played the first 3 pvp maps, and realized, why Warsong gulch sux so extremely in WoW….
The map design is perfect and i am happy to be able to write a positive feedback finally.
Well done good design, keep thinking this way for a sucsessive game.

I started engineer again…(only got to 23 last time). Warrior feels boring, and i simply cant take it….every second character i meet is a warrior….

But i deleted it again after like 20 levels…I no i just god oh god cant take kits. Why on earth they are like this? What the hell is the point of weapon skins if engineers cant use any sort of kitten ed weapon besides rifle shield and pistol?
The problem isnt even that…ok they can only use those…but why are they forced to swap to kits then contantly? There is no point of having “main” weapons.

It so kitten ED UNFAIR !!! Enginers should have the same ammount of skins on weapons, that other classes have for Gs, Hammer, Mace , Swords and so on…
Also there is no point to legendary if you constantly switch to kits anyway…..I am so sick of this….I alredy start to think of uninstall alredy….came back after a half year, but cant pick a decent class to play with again……

By push i mean, they keep pricing them down, and this Special offer and that exclusive, but instead of trying to sell the same things on us, they should put in stuff, they dont need to “sell” but players want them to buy it anyway, because its good.
I hope its understandable what i mean. (“not like they can make you do anything” i understand, thats what you are trying to say)

Fuzzypanda. I hope what you say is true, but i must admit…killing the 3 other elder dragin is a bit LONG run. I might can only imagine that in like 2 expansion. I dont think they would lock down other “continents” and content or a chance to expansion (there are no real other ones so faar, look at the map) , for so long.

I agree what you say abaut WoW, but i personally feel the same way bored in Gw2 to. Events are not fun to me. I mostly totally ignore them in any game. ( i dont care for a snowball fight, i am here for indepth rpg, and to save Tyria with my fellow heroes…I clearly felt that in Gw1…not as moch here). Also i find combat to be boring after i swing the hammer like 120573 th time. No trait or utility skill can change that. THe only reson that combat is not supermegaultraboring is pvp, and endgame contents. Without contant events, and hardcore bosses in dungeons, the game would become extremely boring to. Trust me…i seen Gw2 “veterans” that have 5 legendary and quit because they find trait system to be extremely limited.
Ofc this all dephends on the point players see it. I cant wait the same opinon from a player with a single lv 80 playing somethimes for fun, and the same opinion from someone that waited 5 years for the game, knows most of the detailsabaut it, writes on its wiki, leads a guild since start, finished all instances atleast with 2-3 classes, goes “ranked” pvp all the time. Knows most mmorpg that came out and the system and idea they are based on.
THey simply can not see the same things and they cant have the same needs.
The important is the compromiss!!! If the “fun” player is happy with the way hammers work, and the “indepth” player is not, they should make an option that suits them both, or atleast they should have an option to chose from, what and how they want to use it then. The problem is : Many players dont care for others and keep pushing there own needs. What worse is? The players that not push them, but discard new ideas, because they are satisfied.
Oh and panda…try not not make “walls of text” give some enters so it becomes readable

Those that dont understand “housing” and guild halls are a BIG part of the game, and ARE important, propably didnt play gw1. But this is not a thread to talk abaut, “if they are important or not”. I hardly advise you to read this, and what Guild Halls could and should and did offer. I am sure you realize it by yourself, how important and good they can be.
Unlike most players presume, they can and do efect not only the gameplay but community to.

As for the “living story” and continent dropping. I agree, they propably wont give that expansion for free. Nor will they generally throw “new” content at us, by that i mean fully new zones and things that progress the whole thing forward.
Trough i presume, before expansion they will give us “weekly or monthly” content, and story that will lead us to the expansions.

Other topic. For permanent content. I played Gw1 for like 2 years alltogather. 1 of that was really intense, 5-6 or less or more hours a day for a whole years. And i did log in each day i was home. And Gw1 had no real events (besides holydays, that i totally ignored anyway) and it still gave me a lot of things to do. And i didnt contantly feel like rerolling, because classes offered, exacly the thing you first thout abaut them, unlike here.
So based on that, i do think that permanent content does worth a LOT more then the “living world” constant events. Dont get me wrong, its totalyl epic to see something grand as this. Formnig the world day by day is something really special and i must thank the devs for that really stressing effort. My solution would be a “moderation”. Make things balanced. Do give us some changes and events in the world, but also focus on premanent things.

As for cash shop, i dont find it bad, not good. Trough i think it could be really good.
I personalyl thout its a thing that will noly make the devs work even more and drop a LOT more content in the game. (for example additional skill skins and effects, more pets for rangers, or additional weapon fighting animations). That are to cool to be simply given for free. But things update so slowin shop and mostly offers useless items. And instead of adding more sensible things, they try to push things on costumers. (for example : if i dont want a supermegacleanerduster pro 2000, no matter how hard you try to sell it to me, i dont need it….give me a simple blender, thats what i need right now)

Yes i also agree, they dont have to warp in “all” the stuff at once. That would feel like killing the rpg element in the game. The current world feels really well constructed and served considering a fantasy world. Does feel a bit realistic, even without the dark attitude of gw1.

As for

I did not paly it, trough i did play almost anything since eq1 and ultima online, and yes most games do come out like 50% complete or worse.
The 80-90% is a funny thing, even it it is true. Since it is “finished” , but many things give the impression, they are rushed. That the devs wanted that thing to be a LOT more detailed, but ended up releasing it as bread instead of a wedding cace because they didnt had the time…i hope you get what i mean. That is what i ment “half complete” .

I am sure anything is possible, as my grandmother always sead. Anet is actually the true example for that. They improved the whole mmo genre wit this game. Look araund…anything that comes out, takes a lot of things from gw2. Action combat, story, cutscenes, quest systems, events so on…
So i think anything is possible, if you put effort into it and the game industry lets you (money making kills games)
For example : Gaming community is terrible in most games. But Anet went out and looked into it instead of saying “thats how palyers are”. And they realized, players wont change, (they are terrible ppl) but if they dont give them a reson to flame eachother and argue, they wont. So they made the game in a way players dont have resons to behave “kittened”.
They made the impossible possible with a good design. So i say with a good design and insight ( that the awesome desginers like Mike O’Brian and Colin and exspecially Ree have ) the devs can make the game truly amazing, if they are willing to look into things.
And yes sorry again for my terrible english.

I perfectly agree. Trough, its quite dissapointing me to see so many other warriors besides me.
Exspeically in dungeons, where usualyl end up with 2 additional warrior.

Now that you mention it, i misght should have done that.
Whell i think…my priority is a bit complicated.
1, I think i want something, that gives me the feel, i am a part of the Gw world. When i see the Norn intro and the Guy with the axe and shield, i can picture myself as part of it.
Or when the krati swim up in hordes and you have to defend the beach…not sure what class can i picture there. But i think its a tipical stand alone hero tipe character, like warrior or guardian. ( the thing is strange, trough i find those 2 best as theme for that, but in gameplay ele,necro and mesmer offered the best as stand alone to me)
2, As second i would put the looks. The whole reson i dont play engineer is the “kits” and because they dont realyl even use the weapons they can. (not like they have so many). While warriors can use a lot of weapons, and you can create a lot of styles and themes for your character. Not to mention the heavy armor. And warrior is the only class (besides engineer) that can use rifles.
3, My third place is the gameplay. My priority is world map events, dungeons (but only for obtaining gear and item skins) but i am sure i will spend a lot of time in those “random arena”s. Or how you call them? Spvp? Where its 10v10? Propably…Maybe later when i got my character a bit maxed ill participate in gvg that is coming soon.

I guess thats all. I wanted to say :“ranged support” but i realized since bynow, thats not the same like in Lol or other mmorpgs.
There are many things i like in other classes like, collectible pets on ranger, or the fast phased combat on rogue, or the engineers all araund support, but in the end, i keep ending up rerolling anything i start.

As the title says , i am expecting big things from now on starting with this “patch”.
(Exuse my terrible english in advance)

If anyone read atleast 2-3 atleast of my posts and topics, knows how i feel and think abaut the current state of Gw2, and how i felt after beta, when the game started.
I consider the game to be one of the best (if not the best) out in the market. But there are still MANY things that destroy the gameplay for many players, and i keep hearing them more and more. I dont want to start with “the games future” and “active playerbase” thingy, this is not a topic to discuss abaut “if players leave, if not” and so on.

This is more abaut the current thouts that came to my mind and circulate in it, after hearing the last patch news and future plans of Gw2.

First of all HURRRAY FINALLY you decided to expand your development team(s). I simply cant understand WHY on earth did you not do this sooner? I mean, We (i) waited 5-6 years for the game ,and it came out almost half finished. (and it still kind of feels it is). I dont want to offend anyone or qq, but to me it feels, there are extreme ammounts of things that are rushed and half comeplete. For example the guild halls, that are mentioned, planned, but are still not out after a whole years. Whitch is infuriating in my opinion, since it was very well made and important.

And thats just 1 example (dont make me make more, its not a topic abaut that). I understand that ALL mmo-s need atleast 4-5 years development time to get atleast to starting point, and atleast 1-2 years to get decent content, so the real game can begin.
But after that they usually make an expansion worth of patches or an expansion itself each year.
Tyria had a LOT of changes, yes i agree, and even understand how some feel, but my feelings are not really like that."
All that effort and time you put into the “hollyday” events and temporal content, should and could have been used for the core game content. I understand that there are propably many who liked it, but there are also many, who dont even bother noticing “hollyday” things in mmo-s. Most of my friends find those shiny event crap useless and pointless (fireworks ect…).
So yes! I agree with the fact that you might have realized this and react to that? At any rate +1 on that.

The other thing that comes from that is the new contant every 2 week. Cant comment on it. I presume its a good thing.

The bazaar itself. Yes i see that is something like a “quick fix” for many things. I presume you are going to add a LOT more non gem unlockables. Whitch would fix many things.
For example the effects of some classes skills, whitch many players hate, by adding unlockable alternate effects? Or engineer turret skins? Ect….(atleast thats what i presume and hope, considering your way of thinking, in contradiction with the players and “fanatics” that are content with anything.
I do hope that the bazaar offers more then a simple place where players can buy “new skins”. But also an real chance to give players that are NOT content with anything they get by default, an option, to change and costumize there characters in more ways.

I wont start on combat system, maybe later. As for last i would like to say : The last few news on the game, made me come back after a half year, (trough i still struggle with picking a class i like after 4 lv 80 chars). They give me hope, that my 5 years (+1 after rel) of waiting was not in vain. I am expecting BIG things coming in the next half of the year and an “east” ern style expansion soon. (i personally think Factions was the thing that made Gw1 truly amazing).
Again exuse my terrible english, and Good luck, and thank you for the brilliant game so faar. Keep up the work and react if you must. I still remember Colin Johanson sead " we take out whole parts if we must and redesign" i still hope that ideal still lives.

Hi!
So i could finally made up my mind after like a whole week of debate, and rolled a warrior (returned after a half year of pause), to start from scatch.
Looked up the Legendary selection, “builds” and availability on forums, and seems fine. Also found a LOT of cool artworks on warrior, that inspired me, so i started it…After like 4-5 lv…i realized : This is it? Jump in smack and win?

I have an lv 80 thief and some 50 ish other toons, so i understand the game is not like this, but now i start to understand those who say combat is boring and kittenedly simple.
So i dont know…it is! To me atleast. Is it the Warrior? Or the low lv?
Now i am like at 34, run 2-3 Ac, and it was terrible. I was constantly dead, i felt useless anyway. Not to mention we constantly had 2-3 warrior in the party and that felt horrible. I didnt feel unique at all.

Even so, classes change at 80 a lot. There comes the gear and a lot of roles that can be taken up with mixing traits. But for warrior, it felt to me that, no matter what i wizard up with traits, it wont differ. I will be dooing the same : Jump in smack them, jump out, shoot shoot shoot boring thing i am dooing now. SPARTANS WHATS YOUR ROLE? KITE AND DMG KITE AND DMG !!!
Seems to be a pure example to me how Gw2 combat and class system can failt. Dont get me wrong, as Ele i actually enjoyed the game…for some time atleast.
So i dont know, i think i am supposed to love warrior. I must be since i constantly feel the urge to play it, instead of the ranger i rerolled to. But when i log in, and paly like 10 min, i cant force myself to continue, i log of and go play lol, saying : ill finish 1-2 match and think things over…and i end up on forum instead of playing in the end, because i am clueless now, what class to roll.
I mean, yes look does mean a LOT to me, and Warriors are propably the best looknig class curently. (atleast to my taste). It can use guns, that have a really good look, exspecially love the predator. (to bad engineers use rifles as a shotgun, when they use them at all) . There are many cool skins for shields, Gs and axes and there is Bolt that looks amazing to. Not to mention Heavy armor looks the best so faar in my opinion.

So i dont know…anyone any ideas, or opinions on this?
I know, “play what is the most fun”…sadly all classes are off to me now.

Seriously just make an option to turn it off, and if you like it so moch dont turn it of…and for GOD SAKE LET THE OTHERS WHO DONT, turn it of.

Its not like its FORCED on you, to turn it of. -_- Why can ppl ONLY think we want it to be totally gone, instead of realizign, we just want to have a choice!!!!!!!
(actually, its your thing that is forced on us right now…what would you say if we would force aur kitten on you?)

Guild Halls

I can imagine a Guild Hall system like this :

There are atleast like 5-8 tipes of Guild halls, with differeant themes like, Egyipt, Norn, Sylvari, Asura. Some sort of Krytan theme, with a koi pond and hanging gardens.
They each have a differeant pvp map (that is explorable) attached to them, and the GvG can take place in there.
(this map has displayable pets and other fancy stuff the guild unlocks , {with gvg points maybe?} but only when there is no combat on this map. Others can also charm these special unlocked pets displayed there)
This map can also be upgraded to certaint point, like Hp for gates, Some Npc guards. Buff giving fountain and so on…Maybe from gold? Or influance?

The Guild Hall itself could be fast traveled from anywhere, from “guild sheet” window. without a cost, and traveling back is free also.
It had no Merchants, armor repairs, crafting stations and crafting supplyers to begin with, but could be unlocked with influance, or some sort of other guild currency, or gold.

It also had a Dueling area (unlockable ofc), that had a record of wins and losses, palyers participating in it.
Also it had a LOT of unlockable or buyable forniture, with differeant themes ofc.

For example : The leader wants to make the guild named “Riders of Doom”, (that is based on the theme of Thulsa Dooms snake cult from Conan the Barbarian) guild fitting for that theme and invests a lot of gold (or other currency) on pillars with snake ornaments, and marble floor with persian motives on it. Also some colorfull pillovs and a gold Snake oltar, with some iron ornamented torches. Carpets hanging down from the wall with some flags, that show of the ahivements of the guild.
He ofc can place them, and can give rights to the officers to manage them.
There could be buyable drink vendors or waitresses…

I am sure that Guild Halls could be implemted in an AMAZING WAY.
Abaut small guilds…i hope there will be guild allyances, and they can visit eacothers guild hall, like in Gw1. Personal housing is fine, but its only for decoration.

If you ask me Guild Halls are (were) important places, where you can meet your guild mates personally anytime. You can make gatherings, and guild activites, whitch is animportant thing in mmo-s . Two character meeting physically is a LOT differeant then spamming a chat window.
You can clearly feel, the community exists and its not simply a guild rooster. Those characters are out there dooing stuff. And you dont have the feeling, you can barely meet them. Or are unlreachable. I hope that did not sound like Mike O’Brien.
I hope it sounded more like Colin Johanson. I am sure he would feel the same abaut this.

Anyhow pls keep this topic alive and add more and more ideas, i am waiting for Guild Halls since beta, another dissapointment after waiting so moch would kill the game and my trust in devs. Do make it GOOD!

Evo, when you stop playing a character, because there is a constantly an ugly backpack on it, you want an option to switch it of, not to make the devs look “more recognisable”.
You really want SO many players simply to stop playing?

Besides(and no offense ment)…you SERIOUSLY kittening think that ANYONE can kittennig see or care in a 10v10 what the hell is on xy character ower there shooting kitten at you?
In 1v1 you know it anyway? Like you can calculate on it? That he is omg holding a FLAMETHROWER? What to do? I
To be serious…You want balance? You want opponents to be able to recognize what you are “using?”. Can you tell a rangers “offpet” from looking at him? Can you tell what the guardian has as “switch” weapon? Can you tell, that is a guardian or a warrior from first blink? Since they use the same kind of armors? (unless he is runing araund with a staff)
PS : You want balance ask the devs to give warriors a warrior only thing, and all can se its a warrior, and for all classes. And hopefully ask them to make it ULTRAUGLY, just that half the cummunity can leave the game.
No offense really…but i TOTALLY dont agree with you and wont stand down on this.

How is Vigil story comapred to toher?

So basically, i do have an lv 80 toon, but i didnt get above lv 40 ish story. I join vigil thats all. And 1-2 quest on order of whispers and 4-5 on Priory.
I kind of felt that priory is a bit of fun, because a lot of sidelines appear. And al ot of Lore on the world, but how is vigil? Sounds boring to me…full military?
Or they are the same araund the end?
How would anyone compare them (without spoilers if i may ask). Any good?
Not sure what to take for my Norn Ranger.

Not sure how many have played Dragon age (wont matter 1 or 2). Maybe even hell Mass Effect, or actually even Gw1.
Now, that is what i am talking abaut. When i talk with the vigil diplomat, i want more then the same “cutscenes” and conversations. Add a +1 mission, where you have to fight alongside with some xy hero, and you get additional lines in the “usual” conversation in the strory, where it mentions, how good your xy sword technic is.

(I am not here to qq, i am here to show my opinion, and ideas. Besides, i think the devs had a LOT of time up till now, and the game feels like its still in beta, Atleast for some parts. Lets not even mention Guild Halls and so on. They must realyl have a small team, i am happy to hear they adding more and more ppl…they really need it)

Sure it needs a deal of programing, but i dont think, that moch more then a “stupid, holiday, event” story. Didnt they just state, they should be working on permanent content? (i think thats what it wanted to point out in the latest announcement)
I dont think its a big deal to use an alredy complete (part of a) map, and simply add story to it.
Conversations are extremely simple anyway. (just show up 2 models talking before a bacground.)
Sure it needs voice acting, that takes time and money.

I also think adding a “mini” story line, where your “mentor” or teacher (for example master elementalist, or high druid, or priest, masterspy ect…) teaches you in te ways of your “class” expertise.
I remember master togo and Kormir and the others. That was clearly awesome.

I think, general pve. Mostly events and dungeons. And not sure how you call it, random arena? Thats Spvp?
I am not sure, i did thout of an engineer , that can range and melee to, but they only have kits for viable range dd, and i wont compromise on kits, they are not weapons, and have no skins, and i prfer good looking obtainable weapon skins above that ( i think)
As for ranger, i dont feel quite confí going melee in medium armor, and low buff possibility.

The real problem is, most engineers (if want to be viable) are forced to use them and swap them constantly, unlike other classes, that actually do use those weapons (and those skins) they obtained with hard work.

Whitch is sad, since i waited 5 years for it, not to mention the 2 additional copy it costed me, and the another year wait time (waiting to be made whole after release).
How could i possibly want Guild Halls and major things like that, if i cant even get past the character select, because “i am out of options” in seconds?

I am not sure how many ppl you have working on this game, but you need a LOT more seriously and asap. Things progress REALLY slow, and many palyers dont have the patience.

Yes i agree on Ele, its really decent burst, but lack of high constant damage. I am not sure on Guardian.
Interesting, that you mention Egnineer as highest contant dmg dealer….exspecially with granades, since i can barely hit anything with them from max range, thy to the slow fly speed. Actually sounds dissapointing, that the best dmg output is a kit, from a medum-close range class.
Anyhow an interesting standpoint.

I am getting more and more enraged by the lack of Guild Halls.
The FAT LIE “we have taken everyrthing that was good on Gw1…” makes me so angry.
Guild Halls ware one of the best aspects of Gw1, and it is not in the game after a WHOLE YEAR!
THe minimal permanent contant that was added costed us a year? I man how slow can development progress? Other games rel a whole expansion by this time…THey cant even “fix” the hobo sack on engineer…when its a simple “on and off” option.
How many devs are working on this game at all? I was happy that they starting to see this….but isnt this a bit late?

Anyhow…i promote Guild Halls, and GvG, please do implement it alredy!!!

I totally agree with you Einlanzer, but the truth is…most classes are not viable as any other, the devs dreamed up.
I truly think, they take away the trinity, and destroyed combat roles, instead of making all the classes have all of them -_- whitch is a terrible idea, in my personal taste.
Its like having no point of playing a wizard in D&D, because you can simple smack ppl with a mace as same was as a warrior or thief can. This only ends up in : You are just 1 dude from the team, that does the same thing that others do. Feels like a destruction of “roles” to me, and trust me…a LOT of fun comes from taking up a role. Its an extension of your character. It gives him extreme deepness.

At any rate, i wanted to see, if Engineers are truly that melee and mid ranged class, and they are…and that got me terribly dissapointed. I am surely not rolling one if the game style is like this.

You are right. And i am actually sad because of that. There is no room for a lie here, i feel chore when i am thinking, i should log on. I played more lol in the last week then the actuall game. I keep thinking on “what should i roll?”.
The terrible thing in that is, i want to play the game, but i cant find the class?, to do it.

Maybe its all those terrible experiances all over the time, i play since like eq1 and did play wow for like 6 years, and eq2 and warhammer and almost all big names, and i might be afraid to stick to 1 class and get dissapointed…not to mention i wasted the cost of 2 copy, since i didnt wanted to paly alone, but in the end my friends got bored of the game, and i was forced to paly alone again.

At any rate…i dont know the solution, and “waiting till i know” wont realyl help. -_-
Maybe, i get more inspired after some “east” style expansion , like it was in Gw1…that made me play a lot.

As for Tolkien…dont want to get to off topic, but you are mostly right if you take the general idea of “Tolkian setting the base of fantasy” but also have to admit Folk tales and folklore existed LOOONG before him, and in most common folk wizards and spell casters used tipically “ritualistic” magic, that is closer to d&d tipe of magic system then Tolkiens “defensive and light” magic. Most of Lotr magic works like “buffs” and heals and passive things.
Thats my opinion. But your point is more valid and thy for awnser.

Whell, i am sory to hear that. I detest enginers kits. Grandes are hard to hit with (on really long range, fi not whats the point? Its still medium range then) , the backpack makes it terribly ugly, and i cant even get a decent skin for granade"weapon" since its a kit, not a real equip item, unlike most classes, Engineers are bound to get kittened in that part, and i dont plan to be a part of it. (its seriously a BIG part of the game! Obtaining nnew weapon and armor skins)
As for Ele? Dunno, feels fun, but in the end its more of an jack of trades. Besides, its terribly underpower right now. Not to mention again, its viable builds are not long ranged ones. (atleast as faar as i know)

Lord of the Rings is a bad example i think, personally, destroys the concept of fantasy in my book, when Legolas slides down on a plank of wood and shoots orks….
Not to mention Gandalf is not a tipical fantasy “wizard” or “mage”. Since the world of the “Lord of the rings” is special in the theme of magic, unlike other fantasy worlds.
But i get your point, and agree, thakittens not the hammer that makes the warrior, thats is what i am trying to say is actually…If anet makes a warrior that has a rifle…why cant it be more detailed?
It truly feels like “it can use it, thats all”.

I hope this thread does not sound to qq ish, i hope for a decent conversation and interested in others opinions, so i can form a more detailed one myself on the topic.
(and hope that someone, with a bit of authority sees this and thinks abaut it)

So basically after roaming araund with a lot of classes, (not knowing what to play) since i returned after a half year of pause, i wanted to start a new character from sketch, i realized, that i simply wont pick many classes because of minor details, that actually only “seem” minor, but are in fact deciding major decisions.
Things like : Warriors might have a rifle, and longbow, if you want to play range, but, the whole thing is not detailed, and is wasted that way. Most items, that are “not ment” for a class in early design are almost just decoration. Dont get me wrong, you can have a lot of “fun” with them, but they simply cant be viable as some other weapons and exspecially “builds.” (that are ment for the class to use?)

Another example is Thief. I love playing it beause : it can use bow, and they look cool (but only short, that is not that cool looking) not to mention, i am forced to use it in a “goofy” way, with an bouncing arrow, and explosions. That is fine, but if the thief gets a range item, why cant it have another “theme” for it as well? For example long bows for an “assasin” feeling? With slow,but strong (non bouncing) style of ranged combat?
Pistols? I fully understand them, seems fine to me, but its simply missing options. There might be 1 viable build for it, but its not something you could call detailed. So basically in the end, you might go “range” and support at best, but the main thing where thief shines is melee (whitch was ment for it?)

As you see those are just examples (and personal ones, others might have differeant taste, so dont come and say “but i dont want, i dont think so”, you might have a problem with another minor thing,) the problem is not the skill itself, nor the weapon, its the LACK of OPTIONS.
I understand, that many love the game as it is, but i keep feeling, that classes , and this trait system is liek some main beta. A raw thing, that lacks real detail. I mean even if you can make a “lot” of builds, there actually are not many.
I mean, what options you have? Make a warrior that can apply boons? Hurray? Does it really change your combat? Maybe the skill order, but you aredoonig the same kitten with almsot every class….kiting, staying alive, dodging instagibs and dps ing constantly….why is that? Because there is no trinity?

You see, my problem is wit this “no trinity-no need to lfg all day”(when in fact you have to) that they say : they take it away, but instead of giving all classes all “COMBAT ROLES” they taken them all, basically degrading the system, not upgrading it. For example (and i dont want to hype it, i am not even really a fan of it) skyrim, you do what you want. Make a dual dagger healer. Or siply a tipical archer, with poison and all kitten. THe shining part is : You can simply take up “laying traps” if you want to and from now on you character is more personal and lives up to YOUR taste. And is not some temple of xy class.

So, the long story short, i miss the options builds can offer. things that TRULY effect the combat, and not only give or take buffs and debuffs or deal damage.
I am not happy with the trait system as a whole, i think it limits the classes, exspecially since they are boxed in with weapon selection, that is forced on them alredy, and it only limits them even more.
This might be only my opinion. It does not really mean a lot, but i still wonder if there are any other players atleast, that feel the same. Or the constant " combat is boring" comes from another reson?
I really want to know what exacly my 3 friends (whom i bought the game from my own money) left the game so fast.
( and again sorry for my terrible english, i hope it was not only understandable, but what i feel and think really shines trough it)

Hi!
So basically i am returning after a half year of pause, and want to start a whole new character, to look araund real good, but cant decide.
So i roamed forums, and thout things trough, but i only realized, i dont find a real ranged class.

Looking at forums, most of the “ranged” classes are actually usefull in melee or mid range builds. And classes that are actually “non range” have a really decent long range skillset, but are not detailed, and i dont think they should have anyway.
(here again i almost started to complain abaut, how unflexible classes are-viable i must add with viable builds)

So i came to a conclusion….is there an real ranged class in this game at all?
I mean, c mon, i would love engineers (disregarding hobo sack, and that i cant change the kits look, like others can change there weapon arsenal), but they are almsot fully medium and close range. Ofc they can go “long” range, but are almost totally …crap.
-Then there are elementalists, who are “supposed” to be the real deal "caster"s, but i am forced to contantly jump on foes, cripple them, “dagger” them, go melee and mid range, and if i go long range, i end up spamming 1 and 3 for almost no effect. In pvp ppl instantly run out (if you can cast it at all) from storms, that have an insane cd anyway. In pve mobs get to you almost instantly, then comes kiting (whitch i detest, since 3 years of wows hunter)
-Then there is necro …i dont even want to talk abaut it…are those staff 1 and marks supposed to hive me a decent contant dmg? Totally unviable at “long” range. Rest is full melee and medium range. Maybe in pve, where others “tank”, you can condition build, whitch is not what i want by “range”
-Comes down to ranger, and i see, that bows are actually one of the worst picks for ranger. Its almost all abaut pets (that are actually really weak), and microing them. Or running araund blowing horn and “supporting”. Or it realyl comes down to “ranged” combat, then all you do is “sit back and presss 1,2,3,4,5” while pet “tanks” or you kite. Feels terribly boring early game, in endgame terribly irritating actually.
-So what? I found thieves have quite a nice support and dmg from range. Even if they are supposed to be mostly melee. Besides, i really dont enjoy spamming a bouncing shortbow, or going Trinity. Atleast give them a rifle, so they can snipe and claim they are all araund class.
-Warriors? Yes they are actually good with longbow and rifle, i actually love it, but its a warrior, they are not supposed to be a main range class. BEsides, rifl is pure spam and ranged fight is not really detailed. Besides i hate heavy armor when going rifle or bow. (it actually looks the best in game, but not realyl fitting for range).

So i dont know….Mesmer? Maybe thats the only real good range option. Trough i hate the stupid and somethime useless illusion mechanic. Fully wasted when opponents are on some cliff.

I hope this didnt sound to QQ ish. It was not ment to be…i just wanted to know, who feels the same way, and feels, “true range” missing from the game?

Guanglai Kangyi you might be right. Trough i might say, you are dooing the same things in combat even with traits and high lv, but you have content to forget it, or use it. Atleast, thats how i would think the thout.

At any rate, it did gave me hope, that i might make a good deal rolling and strugling trough early game.
But there is 1 thing that couth my eyes : " If you like ranged weapons, on the other hand, it’s a bit ironic that ranger ranged options kinda suck."

Interesting, because actually i wanted to roll a ranger for its tipical rpg indepth feeling, (something like in the picture, old school d&d), and for the really kitten good looking bows, exspecially since they are one of the best looking legendary besides Bolt and the rifle.
So, what is your opinion then? what are actually the best ranged options?
I still consider engineer medium and close range (trough might be good with kits-that i really hate trough)
Ele feels more like a buff bastion and jump in jump out (whitch is kind of irritating, for me atleast, if i consider it supposed to be a pure caster)
Necro is pure medium and clsoe range to me, was a totall disapointment, so what is range in gw2? (i think i will actually make a thread abaut this in general)

Hi all!
Basically i am a returning palyer after half year of pause. And i decided to play a whole new class from start. But not sure whitch. I have been roaming forums like a week ago now, did try all classes (back in the days alredy) and i did try them again. Both in pvp and pve. Mostly up till like 20-30. and i must admit, i think i have a problem with each class, atleast a slight bit. But i still think Warrior-Ranger are the things most close to me.

Preferably because, they have weapons, that can look cool. And can go range.
I would pick warrior because rifles look realyl kitten. The problem with that is, that warrior is not really a detailed class for ranged combat. While Ranger does have 2 bows and has a lot of (does it?) specialization for ranged play , it does not have a gun. (trough there are many bows that also look nice).

On armor, i would vote for Heavy trough, they look ages better.

Anyhow, after roaming some with warrior i felt utterly bored after like lv 34. Pve seems brainless dmg spam. Swing and swing and win. In Dungeons i constantly meet tonns of other warriors, and that does feel really bad
As ranger i felt the same, but even worse, it felt weak. I could not push myself above 22, because i was bored of : Shoot pet tank,shoot shoot move on. At best had to kite some (whitch i detest, since i palyed hunter in wow for years).

So i am not sure ranged has any builds at all? Propably other build for pvp then pve, but in the end you still simply spam dmg skill with bow proly?
I keep hearing, pet needs micro a lot, pulling in and out constantly at bosses. Besides that they are weakn anyhow.
So what do rangers really do?

Micro pets? Boring range dd? Or ? Btw are there many rangers out there?

Hi!
Basically i came back to play the game after liek a half year, and decided, that i roll a fresh character. Back in the days i decided to stop laying bacuse i could not decide on class, manybe its the game itself, but hell, i think i would play it, if i fould a fitting class, but i cant.
Maybe warrior is the only class, that meets the most criteria. Heavy armors are propably the best looking ones right now, but unlike guardians, warriors can use bows and rifles to. That also look really amazing (i dont think i really even care if they are usefull or not).
Not to mention the dual wield, just tihnking of dual bolt makes me drool. (trough its terribly sad, that they are not using the ofhand, only just for skills)

Might also mention i like “tanky” characers. Even if it is only for the look. And that i was a big fan of Jora in Gw1, and always wanted to be a hammer warrior.

But even so, i start one, and get so extremely bored araund like lv 30, that i cant force myself to play it. I simply cant find fun utility, or combat excitement at all. Feels like : dmg spamfest, or auto attack win, in the 90% of the time. (like rangers)
When i join some dongeon, we get terribly wiped, i didnt feel like this since fractals came out.
Not to mention the second i see other players, thera are SOOOO MANY warrior, it takes all my mood to paly the class at all.
Ppl say i should not bother abaut it, but it still kitten es me reeeealy of. Not to mention its not like : every second run 1-2, but constantly 2-3 all the time in my team. Wont even talk abaut open world encounters…the half of them are constantly warriors. Gets me so down.

So i am not sure, what to play now.
Ranger feels a bit boring, and most weapons beside bows are working wierd a bit. Not to mention i hate kiting, and its all abaut pet microing (whits are really weak)
Ele feels, fun but truly underpower right now.
Guardian…dunno, almost like warrior, a bit boring.
Engineer, a really good class, and fun to play, but when it comes to kits, and weapons skins….0 selection. Kits cant be skinned, no point of playing engineer for looks (whits is a big part of the game) Not to mention the kittennig hobo sack, and that the class is not range at all (i hate that) and shooting from the hip….no thy, i dont like shotguns.
I have a thief,…dunno, it hit lv 80…didnt even log on him after, i dont think thats my kind of stuff.
Mesmer feels really “caster” ish, but illusions system forces me to use it, and i hate it.
Necro would have been an instant pick, but its totally opposite of the tipical paper rpg necro. No thy, i dont want to stab ppl do death and summon rabid,undead rabbits. (more like diablo 2 version pls)

So dunno, are there many warriors? Can that be a problem? I mean it is terrible to run 3 warrior teams contantly. Trough i dont really feel that it really matters that moch what class you playing….might be me, but combat is a bit boring?

First of all, thank you for all the awnsers. Second, i guess you ppl see into my soul, i think i wanted guardian anyway. I can alt an ele later on anyway, if i feel so, but Ga seems to be a good choice for start for now.

Hi!
So to the point : i returned to play after a half year, and want to start totally fresh from start, but i cant decide on class yet. I think my friend will join the game to, propably as a Ranger or Thief (more likely thief).

Basically i was wondering ranger myself, but then i realized it would have only been for the looks (bows are amazing).
So I narrowed it to Mesmer (that comes last) but the illusions are not my play style.
Guardian and Elementalist.

Basically the reson i cant decide is a bit complicated one.
Guardians have an amazing armor selection (heavy armors are the n1 in looks to me) . Not to mention the 2h swords and shields, that are also brilliant compared to most caster weapons. (exspecially legendary ones).
I might also add, that i played tank classes up till now . Because, they can face opponents head on, unlike most classes, that need kiting.

The down side is , that i like casters to. Seems fun, spells and skills seem fun, and i do also like to support from long range. Trough the combat of ele seems to be odd for me…to many “jump on the enemy” skills, like ball lightning and dagger skills. Not to mention the strange looking armors.

The other thing that seems to get to me every time is : Lore.
I am a indepth rpg player. After like 1 years of D&D and forgotten realms and thousands of fantasy books…its not a wonder that i play gw2 and not some other game. The atmosphere and the graphic design not to mention the amazing artwork, music. Pure fantasy. But i kind of find the classes bacground a bit lacking. The sylvari areas are good, but can barely meet anything that is abaut the class you play. As i can see, Guardians and Warriors have the main “face” of the Gw2. And comparing to other fantasy, “mages” are totalyl underdesigned in lore, when they should reaaaaaly have a lot of bacground and detail. So i am not sure whitch class could make me feel part of the world.

As for game system and combat, i guess Guardians feels a bit more boring to me. (general pve) Also melee feels a bit strange and hard in organized pve (more players) Not to mention Guardians totally lack range options.
Unlike ele, but then again,,ele lacks utility, no pass blocking line, projectile reflection and so on.

Anyone got some suggestions? On race also maybe?

Hi to all!
So basically i wanted to make this topic, for players, that wish to buy the game for friends in the future, to avoid the hell the whole system put me trough.

My problem is : that i bought the game (that is not cheap at all) for 2 of my friends, so we can play togather. (since they themself would not buy it, but would play it)

So i bought the normal edition via online e shop. Sent them the password and stuff, they need to make account, and we did play…for like 2 days. Then they got bored, had other kitten to do, and basically the whole money was wasted on the 2 addittional copy.
After some time, some other friend wanted to play, so i had to write leters and forum and talk with support constantly to make them change the email (for authentication) on 1 of the accounts ( somehow i could not do the second one, because it sead “wrong order number” or something stupid like that.)

Because the stupid security is so kittening tight in games lately, that they destroy you whole time, to set them in correctly and learn 167000 passwords and things, and still get hacked, but you sourself cant even log in. So you need an email , (that you cant even change, even if you have the password and account name) to authenticate yourself at each login, so if you wish to send a copy you have for a friend, you have to change the email adress, whitch is a HELL of a procedure. Seriously took me a week!!!

After that he played like 1-2 weeks and also left the game, saying its boring, combat is simple as a childplay, classes are underdeveloped and so on…So here i was left alone again!!! Wasting a whole week of my free time for nothing.

Anet!!! I have a friend who wants to play (again) but the kittenING HELL i wont buy another copy for sure. Exspecially for that price.
Make players be able to change author on copyes they have. with some, more simple means.
(i dont even want to start on the kitten i been put trough with authentication emails, i did not get for weeks, and had to install the android authenticator)

Give accounts, that buy addittional games a master title and let them manage those accounts in a simple way!!!
(my 2 additional copy is surely lost, the kitten i bought thegame lives in england now, cant even reach him,not like he knows the order number or anything anymore. And so are all the copyes i bought lost!!! so this wont help me personally, but i REALLY want this kitten to be solved in future)

I been wodering to make an alt for my Necro.

The whole reson i started thinking on making one, whas that act i seen in The Grove, when 2 slyvari ask the charr abaut war.
I then realized, i kind of miss a bit more direct character. I been looking araund at players araund me, and thout warrior first, but scratched out it asap, since, like every second player on server is warrior, and i hate that really.
After that i seen some really good looknig engineers, but after reading a bit of posts, seems a bit off to me. Also dont like kits that cant even change skins. Not to mention, i am not found of a class, that is sopposed to be ranged, and is melee bunker. Even if i keep hearing, how op good they are, i am not sure i would like it.
I surely wont roll a thief, my friend is 1.
So then i thout, maybe a Ranger. Got good looknig 2h swords, Bows also look amazing, Can collect pets, (that i always loved in any game). Palayed one in gw1, and it was amazing. And so on. Though i kind of find the “support and utility” a bit lacking, better then thief for sure.

But there is 1 reaaaaaly big problem i have…I seen some play and hell did even try not long after beta till like lv 11….and wax extremely boring. All i did was : Kite, shoot shoot, kite, shoot shoot. It felt fun in pvp, till ppl started to learn there classes, but became also boring after a time. Besides that i played hunter in wow for 6 years, and kiting is a kittennig boring thing to me….Looking at traits, and weapon skills, i cant find a decent “combo” or anything, that is suggestion that the class can be interesting to play.
Not to mention i keep hearing, that Ranger is utterly underdog , and others can outperform you in half the effort.

So could anyone actually enlighten me, how rangers truly, actually are ?

Why are you almost all so arrogant, and think, that every second player has like 10 friends playing the same game as you?
I personally have a lot of friend,s but still NOT 1 is playing Gw2. I aked a lot of them, but they always prefer other games. Not to mention i even bought 3 copy of the game for clsoe friends, so they might start the game, and they quit the game in like 2 weeks? (saying its ultimately boring , do to extremely simple combat, and kittened dungeon run-nuke-die-rez-run-nuke-die-rez….ect.)

I really do HATE ppl that say : play with friends. You have that many? Good for you, now then, that wont mean other can curl up and die because there friends dont play.

Besides the thing that makes me even more angry is Berzerker set -_-
You think the game supposed to be “burst them down and dodge” ? So kittening simple? Not like the combat is not simple enough, but you force your game style to even more simple? I dont want to imagine a Gw2 that can accept gamestyle like that.
A kittening dungeon should be well made and require condition removal and shield and reflect and all the kittennig kitten options a team could need….they are there for THAT. not just kittening decoration+

My english sux? My what? I didnt even learn it…so what then? They forced us to learn german…thats all.

Since i rejoined the game, after a half year of pause, i decided to start a whole new character, and progress real slow. Not like i did rush the game, but this time i listen araund and talk to npc and stuff.
Putting the things that made me leave the game in the first. And putting aside the things that (still) irritate me, i focus on my personal story and enjoying the work and the lore, i really love.
Basically i played gw1 from start to finish and loved the lore and the world. In the 5 year development time lore was one of the things that kept me up to date, and the wonderfull theme and atmosphere of the artworks, that are represented as environments.

And i must admit, the personal story is not bad at all. But 1 thing is killing me. Classes.
Classes seem ok, considering they are basically gw1 classes. Engineer is also a good addition. But for my personal taste, they effect the game and play style was to slightly.
(Lets not talk abaut “combat roles” in this topic, i think thats the main issue in that.)

Instead i would like to point out, “Why is the story not effected by class?”
Nor the whole world. Beeing an elementalist does not make a slight change in anything, then beeing a warrior. Npc-s say the same things, and react the same way. You cant interact with the world any differeant.
For example : You walk into xy “dungeon” and there is a magically sealed door, the story says “you have to find a level to open it” but as engineer you could blow it up, as elementalist you could dispell the magic or cast a spell that opens it.
Another one : talking with xy npc when he wants you to obtain information on xy thing. Then you have to decide what “quest” you take. But instead of the usually 3 choice you could make one that lets you “summon the soul of the dead to ask him” (like in the personal story actually) or steal a letter from xy as a thief.

That is the side of “effecting the story” I do feel that the story lacks the effect of your class. When in fact its a REALLY BIG part of you!
Another thing that came to me is , there is no bacground of the classes.
There are simply trainers that sell you books. (books are actually a good idea, but should be obtained, not sold) . For example by a “Class quest” that would be like a personal story side story. A story that only applyes to your class and does contain a lot of lore abaut your class…Example : what thieves guilds exist, how they work ect…Or what does it mean that you are a “traditional” skill mask wearing necro and not a “demon” mask wearing one. And so on.

Besides that, there should be a LOT more lore (not just hidden) araund abaut classes. Where they came from, what they do, how they work.
I might as well ask for a full story line (not as long as the main) that is all abaut your class.

As side note, considering all this, i find skill point system a bit lacking to. You just walk to a magic waterfall and meditate and get skilled in “summoning a minion” ? Thats ok. You meditate, think things trough…but does eating the magic petal of a flower and killing a giant spider give you the basically same?
I do think instead of spending points on some (certaint key) skills you should need to do something specipic. Like killing a necromancer in xy place to learn flesh golem. Or defeat another guardian in duel for a sword skill.
There might even be skills that are “switch out”-s for some weapons skills.
There are many players who (for example) dont like the “auto attack” skill of necromancers staff. There could be a “quest” to obtain xy rare magic artifact and thats hidden in a dungeon, you obtain it (ofc after a long out battle till you get there) and then the item gives you a “option” so you can switch the “look” of “side” effect of your skill anytime.

So i realyl hope classes get more detailed. Thats my opinion…anyone?

I dont really have a problem with the conversations content, instead the coversation itself.
Cutscenes supposed to show the “SCENE” between 2 parts. Not a “wall of audio”…

I pesonally loved gw1s cutscenes. They show my character in action, talking and interacting with the world…I FELT MY CHARACTER PART OF THE STORY . Not like in Gw2, that says this, but actually its not like that.

So After a healf year, i kind of decided to return, or at best measure, the game and decide, if i want to return or not.
After days of debating with myself, i decided to disregard all the billion things that irritate me, and start a whole new character-class-race. Progress slow, read all, explore, craft so on. Feels a bit better,though i still kind of find combat way to simple and boring, but i get over it, mostly by now.

But, if i consider, the game good and fun, even though, there are things that irritate me, to the edge of leaving, and i cant disregard to mention atleast a few things,that might sound a bit minor, but still destroy my gameplay.

I understand, this is “my” opinion, and it does not weight a lot (whitch is sad, considering, how much i praised and supported the game and the devs till now, besides the fact how much i also spent on the game-4 copy and like1000euro gems)
But still, this is not a personal request, instead a list of things that could be improved, in a way, that would make all sides happy.
By that i mean making these things “optional”.

Ok, so to topic :
At first of all, Necro is the class that is next to my soul. Its the tipical class that i would pick anytime. I like casters, and i love the dark, undead concept of the Necromancer. I played it in D&D games, and other rpg-s. I played it in Gw1 and loved it.
But ihave to admit, in Gw2, even though the concept is the same, the implementation of this concept is not what it supposed to feel (i think).
That might be due to the hybridism of the character (not the tankiness, the “meleeness”)
I kind of miss the feeling of a “real caster”. It might be me, “got used to good old paper and dice rpg” feeling, but still, i feel wied seeing the necro run there and stab ppl with dagger. (whitch would be not a problem, if it had more “caster” options)

A lot of players say “go scepter or staff then”. I agree, with that, but thats still a supplementary solution. Besides, that i dont like the scepter animation. It looks like “swinging it wildly” instead of some ritualistic casting. And that goes for almost all skills. They feel a bit underdesigned. Not really, like a “caster” would weawe spells.

My problem with the staff is its “auto attack” skill. The skill itself is decent, no complains (besides the fact it usually pulls in the half map thy to the penetrating attack). But the effect (that ugly black hand) looks terrible for my taste. Its ok, that you summon a choking black spectral hand or smt, but “shooting them” feels terrible.
I wish there would be an “option” to switch certaint skill effects.
You could unlock them, with story progress, dungeon tokens, or personal class quests or even with gems, or other store option.

I might mention, the dissapointment of minions, but i can deal with that.
So anyway, i would like to keep this post short at first, those are my thouts that came to me, and felt like need to be expressed after this big pause of the game.
I hope you understand what i try to say here, my english is terrible i know, but my exuse is that i didnt even learn it…i was forced to learn german.

2,You are propably talking abaut the movie
3,If you didnt “read” (you dont read a lot propably) it you dont really have a big insight of Fantasy anyway…Since Lotr is only a basic classic, there is like 10000 worlds (only) out there by now and for every of them like 10 books min. And those without a stand alone world come in millions.
So yes, making an example “surfing elf” is terrible if you ask me. No offense, this might have sounded a bit trollish.

“happy-happy-joy-joy” is a bit owerkill, instead i would say its lacks the negative part. Its not clearly positive though. Kind of like neutral, that gives the feeling of “happy-happy-joy-joy” because it lacks a detailed evil part.

Dear SpyderBite, i am sure you didnt consider that, if you take an attitude ( even as a player, not to mention devs) like “i dont care you are a freeloader anyway, its a f2p game, noone will miss you” players will ONLY leave. Leaving the game you like with only “i dont care for anything its good, if you dont like it leave” and suddenly you dont dare say anything, since players wont care, they will ask you to leave. Like you did. Or in worst case without players.

Must also add, that mostly those players are happy, that spend a lot less on games (thats a fact) Then players that are unhappy and keep buying stuff to keep themself in the mood. (thats exacly they pay for e stuff in the first place)
Besides that, did you think of players (like me) that buy like 4 copy of the game (for friends) and spend like 1000 euro for gems? And how will they react if the game keeps dissapointing them?
Dont underestimate the power of negative feedback. Players spreading, negative feedback effect games REALLY BAD. And not to mention, players that are happy, keep kitten ing them with “You have the bad opinion, its good, propably its your fault that you dont like it” -_- it will only cause them to go all out hating the game and the devs.

Motoko does have a point. But i must admit, its a thing not many posess. By that i dont mean friends, but that i mean “friends that play”. Exspecially friends that paly the same game as you. As mentioned above i bought 4 copy…now none of them playes for like the same resons i was off for like a half years, and sill unsure to come back at all.
