Ok so i make the suggestion and explain in detail after :
I would like to suggest a change in skills when players are Dual Wielding weapons. For example MH: Sword OH: Axe . Or Sword-Sword or any combination where the class/character can use the ofhand weapon to attack.
I personally Skill that “needs” to be changed is the 1; Or so called “auto attack” . To a skill where the character is using both weapon (atleast in some way)
I understand the main design is to give 3 main hand weapon skill and 2 ofhand. And at best the middle skills is an skill where you use both items.
But this is a flawed logic. When “you” use a sword you want to use it the best as possible.
Eather use it with 2 hand for more mobility, balance and speed. (even 1 handed can be used with 2 hands try not to forget and redisign the system with a bit more indept thouts)
Or you use something in ofhand, for a benefit : Lets not make a differance in Shield and Weapon, since weapons can block and parry to, and can Shields can be used to attack and hurt others.
To be blunt : Noone will just “hold” a weapon in ofhand, till he is fighting with main hand weapon -_- . And when you “Riposte” you do it while using main hand weapon. Thats the benefit of it. You can attack and defend in the same time.
The same way, when you use a shield to defend, you only do it for a second (when you need it) and can attack right after.
(The differance is : You need less skill to block with a shield.)
So in my opinion, wen you “sever artery” you should be able to use “imple” since you are using both weapons the same time. Thats the benefit of them. Thats the whole meaning of Dual Wielding. You dont “switch” sides you use, like it is in game. But thats some other topic actually.
I just wanted to point out : Dual Wielding and still only attacking with 1 weapon when using “auto attack” (1) looks lame, and crappy. And should be ramade to using both weapons, since you wont just hold it in your ofhand. (it gives you no benefit then)
I must add, i am sure MANY players think the same. I heard a LOT of complains from a lot of places, including forums and ingame, guilds and so on.
Anyone thouts on this? Or was i not clear? I might could try to eplain a bit more clear, but not sure my english is good enought.
I was wondering, if there are REALLY cool lion themed weapons ( they are in my top) why is there no lion themed armor?
Not the Lionguard armor, but an really cool one.
For heavy i could alredy see a Mane araund the neck, a Roaring Lion face as helm. A gonden ornamented simbol in the chest. Claw like gauntlets.
For medium a full set of Lion skins, with there heads still on. A bit in the way like barbarians and cavemen wear furrs.
And something like that.

Hello all. I was personally dissapointed in the way classes work so faar, i was wanting to use a bit more Warrior ish tipe of Thief, that is a direct head on melee class but is also swift and acrobatic, but the game offers so low Class costumization i had to Eather play Thief, or Warrior.
Thief lacked the good looking armors, and weapons to my taste, and is to “tricster” to me, and not to mention the lack or support utility.
So i decided to roll a warrior, who is a good all araund class, but here comes my problem : I would love to go a Longbow build, but armors all look strange and wird when i go ranged with rifle or Bow. Anyone got a suggestion for a Medium looking armor?
I would prefer some long coat, or something like that. Or if anyone saw Sword Art Online, something like Kirito is using.
Back in the days, when we played Aion to pass time till Gw2 gets out, we got bored quite fast, do to lack of content, and the many issues we had that ruined the actually wesome game.
But Nc had the good idea of showing us, what they intended to implement in the future, so that we dont loose faith in them. They just need a bit time.
And so came the “future of Aion” video, who totally made it clear, it will be a totally awesome game, we just have to give a bit of time.
(the sad part is, the most of the ideas did not get implemented, and the game had the same issues, as at start)
But the point is : The community does not dare to say it, but i do : Please show us or give us feedback, what you plan to do in near future. Amaze us with the extremesuper contents that are coming.
The community is on the edge of decision!!!!!!!!! After 1-2 moths you decide you want to play a mmo or not. Even if it is free, the most precious resource is time, and you dont want to waste it.
Do show us, that this is not all! Show us some Amazing GuildHall interiors, Combat with new weapons and new combat mechanic-s. And so on…. A teser would be really good idea.
Even if it is not a video atleast give us a topic or feedback what can we expect. Early for it? No its exacly the best time. Since its a new game, there are MANY things still amiss and this is the time when you should know what direction you will head.

I actually agree on giving Thief and Ranger dual sword option, but the class is not even nerly some rippoff of some alredy existing class.
Trough it might be medium armored, it is Focused on melee, but its not a stealth tipe of class like thief.
The main points are still Melee,Direct fight,Spellcaster,Swift, Mobile, Acrobatic.
I dont think i seen any class besides Mesmer that is a bit set on “fight and cast” .
Even Mesmer is fully set on casting instead of fighting. (she is cloth afterall)
I just realize i kind of missed out the utility. Whell i must admit i have a bit less time i would need on that, so i pass it tomorrow.
But i agree with Slcrisisin most cases.
If we had a REAL assasin class or Thief would be more flexible or overall all classes could be a bit more costumized to personal gameplay, players would not keep suggesting there classes. They could make them from the current ones. Its actually quite a problem for me. I barely log in at all to play. I cant find a decent class to play with since none of them fit me in gameplay.
Ok i see there is an interest in the class so i try to be more specific from now on then.

I am playing ranger for the reson a class like this does not exist. But there are quite big differences actually.
Its centered araund melee combat, and spell like ability es. And not ranged combat, pets and nature.
Second, it has an unique class combat mechanic.
I am not quite sure in adding GS and staff at all yet. Trough not sure what would be best solution. Maybe leave in Gs and take out staff.
I did not want to add a full list of names for the class, since there could be many. I think the players here on the suggestion forum can list quite a lot, if they wish to be constructive.
Like SoulBlade or Enchanter. BladeCaller. FlashSword. Or even Minster if had a musical tune to it. But it does not and it is not themed araund a “cultural” aspect.
You might be right. It does sound a bit…..Corny. But propably noone will use the full name just Sos at best.
I would say let it be SpellSword, but thats reserved for D and D as faar as i know.

Yes something like that, but since the Medium armor and the style of the class, a lot more mobile and acrobatic, but still a warrior ish tipe.
I think this aspect of “themed” class is missing, and the Stars would be quite fitting, and interesting addition.

Basically, i was missing a class like this since the early stages. Since the Ranger cant Dual wield swords, i assumed, there will be something like this, but there us none.
And i found it strange, many fantasy lovers, readers, players love the “ranger” ish medium armor dualsword playstile and feeling. For example Drizzd.
I barely seen any game or anime or movie that did not show a Class that is a Warrion in the base, but wears light,medium armor and Dual Wielding swords.
It is a big aspect of fantasy classes, i think it should not be missed out.

Wearing Medium Armor.
He is able to use : Main hand : Sword, Dagger,
Ofhand : Sword, Dagger
2Hand : Staff and 2hSword
In the main design using the daggers is fully ranged setup for the SoS.
Dagger main and of hand :
1, The SoS drops the dagger(s) from his hand that will glow and resamble a shuriken like star and perform a cutting motion in front of the SoS.
In second phase the star cuts back ways. In the third it thrusts trough the enemy.
2, The SoS throws both dagger’s from his hand to deal damage and cripple the enemy they hit, and return to the SoS
5,THe SoS starts to Float in mid Air and slam a bunch if exploding light orbs in front of him ( or araund him) This is melee range.
Sword main hand :
1, The SoS spins araund and cuts the enemy from left side, in second phase he cuts from right side, in third steps in a direction and stabs the enemy from side.
2, The SoS starts rushing forward his enemy, his sword glows intsively and leaves a light trail, but on the enemy contact it wont stop after he cuts the enemy. This attack deals big damage and closes the gap between the enemy and the SoS nothing more ( there might be a bleed effect trough)
3,The SoS steps elegantly in a direction and holds up his blade close to his body to alter the enemy’s attack. This move is actually a parry, but the animation is a bit more elegant then showing a block like effect. (i assume there might be a counter mechanic to it)
Dual swords :
5, Startburst Stream : The ultimate powr of the SoS is to unleash a series of insane fast swings at the enemy. His Swords glow intensively and as the SoS starts swinging them they burst out with flashing and glittering light and eplode in the end dealing massive damage.
3, Flash : THe SoS blinks to the enemy and cuts it, then blinks to another side of the enemy on second use of the skill and cuts it again, this can be used 3 times, after 3 times the SoS appears in its original location.
2, THe Sos makes a step forward and cuts low with both his blades, crippling the enemy and blinding him.
4,The SoS assumes the form of “stars” . Making him half transparent, as stars glow araund him in small clouds. That explode on contacting enemy melee range (has some charges) And also making him get Aegis or Protection
Ok from that you ppl should be able to see the theme. And why it differs from Warrior, Thief or Ranger. It is a bit of mixed, but also something really new and that comes from its unice mechanic :
Celestial Style : A weapon wielding form that lets the SoS wield weapons in a lot elegant way. He is able to use 1 main hand weapon as a 2handed item. Gaining 5 skills instead of 3, that are swifter and more acrobatic, since the SoS is not buredened by ofhand item.
Example : You can use 1h sword alone for 5 skills . That are less powerfull ,but a lot faster (in recharge, mobility, or animation).

Hi there again peeps again! I am back for you to suggest more and more class ideas, and themes.
Allright so i will use the tipical formula i use in class sug. posts First show the class theme in short, then show some weapon skills and the class special mechanic, then finally utility slot skills. But keep in mind, the skills are more of a direction then a concrete thing. In the end the devs are the ones that specify the skills, system and animations.
So the idea is a Class aspect that i was missing really hard : A medium armored, short and medium range caster but also a swordsman. Something like SpellSword in D&D.
Trough i got the idea from an Anime called : Sword art online, it mostly gave me inspiration, nothing specific.
I themed the class araund the stars. Mostly based on the impression of Nahpui Quarter mission from Gw1 factions. The class is a Warrior tipe of class in the base, but a LOT more acrobatic and agile, and uses spell like abilityes to get araund the combat field. But is less steathy and tricky then a thief.
Allright lets se some skills. Might shed more light on the theme i aim for.

I must personally say i agreee with you to. Trough what you dont see is : Whats behind all this.
Because its not your problem only, and its not an engineer only problem, end even more so not only a “granade” problem.
Classes and there skills and weapons are extremely unflexible currently. Trough you have “utility” and “traits” you are getting basically a block caracter Anet designed, and you cant change anything on it.
For example : What if i want to play a sniper tipe of Engineer? Or a Sniper Ranger? Or Thief?
I cant do it any, since Engineer does not have tipical long range setup skills on rifle and you cant change it. Ranger cant use a rifle, and his “long bow” skills are not to “carefully aim” tipe of skills, and the thief is more of a tricster then a Assasin, even trough it should also represent Assasin, since there is none and wont be any.
So to say, we eather lack classes or class costumization options.
In blunt : You cant costumize your gameplay, not even slightest.
This is a real hard and bad issue that many wont realize, but they do come out sooner or later as players get unhappy with classes they are “supposed” to love.
Thats all i want to say abaut this, but i kind of made a whole topic on this, sicne noone reads or comments, i am guessing ppl wont agree with me, trough it will destroy the game sooner or later.

For they dont understand the forum exists for ideas and opinions to. Or mostly for that. And giving your opinion " that you want a direct damage long range weapon" is worth as moch as there. Its only by change there opinions are alredy implemented, and this is not.
I dont think that would be a problem. Later on they MUST add a way to implement skill “skin” and effect switching options. A new menu will be implemented in my assumption.
Besides that the idea is quite cool. Trough i would add some ingame unlockable skins to. Not so totally mind blowing like the ones in the shop, but still decent.
I would also add more turret skins, banner skins and models, minion models and skins and so on ect….
The game (and the shop) has so many wonderfull possibilityes, try to use thme Anet!
Btw, i was wondering to myself. Early game its ok you have a tri legged crappy turret, but wont the Engineer upgrade its look as he gets better at his profession? Cromed metal casings, or colored ornaments on the turrets and weapons? I do think he would modify them for sure !
For utility i have many ideas.
Summon tome of Dumand : The Lm places an pedestal with a big book on it that can unleash powerfull spells at a long range ( like mortal) . Anyone ally can use it.
Runes of Dagnar : 3 floating rune encarved stone appear behind the Lm and grant him boons on each use after the summon for 3 times. Another use of the skill explodes one of the stones (and deals minor dmg)
Oltar of Skelet (or ) The LM summons a stone fountain with a monolity in its center, that radiates dark power which poisons and deals damage to enemyes for soem time ( something like nekros wells)
Record : On activation the LM starts recording his skill usage. And after the time passes (10-20 sec) he goes to invisibility and summons a clone of himself with less dmg but same healt that will use the same skills as he did. ( only weapon skills) Even dodge and move araund a bit.
Insight : the Lm can se from the lessons of the past and can prevent the next enemy skill from happening. THe next enemy skill after activation is casted, but has no effect (heal dmg condition or boon wont apply)
Elite : Spirit of the ancients – The Lm becomes an powrfull armored warrior of the past
Endless power : The Lm draws uppon the forbidden knowledge of ancient times. His eyes cracle with lightning and gains all boons for (moderate time) 10-30 sec. Becomes immune to all conditions and deals 20% more dmg.
So these are the directions i would like to go. I hope you all see what theme i picked for the class, please do donate to it.

Using staff is for sure since itts the tipical weapon and companion to a Wise man
The rest is : Scepter and Focus.
And rifle. Since the LM is not that trained in combat i think thats is all he should use, for now. But this will be more then he needs you will se why :
The special of the LM is to equip a relic he is posessing from ancient times. There are 3 of them (currently) and he can equip any of them pressing the buttons ( above the skillbar, used in the same way like Elementalist Attunements).
This will switch the weapon skill bar to 5 new skills, but not 5 new skill to each weapon. Only 5 skills per relic. Since they are the weapons the LM will use.
These are more of examples i leave the design and lore to Devs.
Stone summit Ritual axe : This is a short axe in size, but needs 2 hands to be hold.
1, The LM channels the Nekromantic powers of Gordac the fleashreaver and summons a phantom Axe to cut the enemy (on time and dissapear after it) in stomach. (cousing bleed and dmg)
The phantom exe appears in different areas of the enemy cutting it in different places
2, THe LM throws the exe, that will spin wickedly and shed blood in its path ( piercing foes) then it returns with the blood to heal it wielder. (moderate coldown)
3,The LM swings the axe causing fear in a cone shape in front of him (for a short time, with a long coodown)
Bone mask and bracers of Palawa Joko : Since its not really a weapon, the Lm will actually use his bare hands to cast spells. This is a skillset for pure offensive caster setup.
1, Spear of dread : Summons an inscribed spear that the Lm will throw.
2,Gaze of the Dead : The eyes of the mask glow ruby red and freeze the enemy in front of the LM (dealing minor dmg)
3, Undeath : THe bracers turn the LM to stone for a second and making him invulnerable for that second, after that the Lm slowly regains speed (making him freezed and then crippled, ower 10-15 seconds) but also making him more resistant to dmg till this time.
4, Skeletal command : the Mask speaks the secret words only known to Palawa Joko and summon a skeletal mage or warrior to fight for a short time by your side.
Jade Emperors celeastial kirin : Trough its a jade statue of a serpent like dragon, it is alive in some sort of way, and it tangles araund the neck and body of the LM.
1, Breath of Jade : The Kirin breathes lightly poisoned jade cloud (it poisons for a short time and deals dmg) in a cone in front of the Lm.
2, Balance : Radiates the inner harmony of heaves healing allyes constantly.
3, Scales of Dragon : THe Kirin turns the Lm’s skin to hardened scales that offer more armor and provide movement speed and increaced dmg to Breathe of Jade
4, Might of Kirin : The Kirin unleashes a mighty roar, knocking and dazing enemyes in the area (dealing minor dmg)
5, Wing Mau’s Bite : THe kirin leashes forth and bites the target knocking it down and dealing Big dmg (also poisoning the target)
(its more of a support skill) I might switch of a skill to Tail lash : that can keep up some constant dmg and offer healing. Or soemthing like this.
Ok lets skip the part where i moan abaut, missing an old school wizard class and get to the point of intruducing the classs i thout up.
The name wont matter, the theme talks for itself :
A class that is using the lore and wisdom of ages passed. Casting supportive floating runes or runestones, that cast short term buff’s.
Tempering with time, equipping the reliced books and wands of the ancients for spells.
Able to interweave glyphs into his armor.
Can imprint stigmas on others, that connect the LoreMaster with the stigma bearer so they can share the buffs or effects they gain. Or gains the ability to use one of his skills or “auto attack” .
To be more specific i made some skills. Trough they are still permutable. They are more likely for a direction, then a concrete skill list.
In the end the devs. develop the classes anyway, and know what they need and want in detail.
I am happy to listen to opinions and more ideas to the class. Or exspecially class mechanic’s.
Staff :
1, Exploding rune : A LM. Casts a floating glowing rune shape that appears on the enemy and expodes for minor dmg. Araund the range of 500.
At second phase the LM casts a short Wall of floating, faintly glowing text, that damages and cripples the enemy for 1-3 seconds as he passes trough. ( this lasts only for 1-2 second)
2, Long range nuke
3, Movement / buff utility …
4, The LM creates an entropic wall in front of himself (melee range) that blocs ranged attacks for a short time (araund 6 sec) on the second cast it explodes and poisons foes in front of the LM.
5, Ancient power : The LM Gathers power and unleashes it araund himself, knocking foes back and blinding them.
I actualyl agree. Considering we are supposed to be Engineers, we cant even modify or upgrade the Turrets. Or his own weapons.
Besides, we cant use a lot of weapons “because we are not skilled” ? What the hell? We can use a flame thrower but not a sword? Thats stupid.
No. Actually i hate them all. Besides the granade kit, which is more of a fun, then real usefull. Barely hit anything in pvp, from long range, where it is supposed to be applyed.
I like the class itself excluding the kits. Flamethrower is just not for me, in a fantasy game.
Cant agree more. Kit’s are the tools engineers use instead of Weapon’s and all other classes have the BEST feature in the game ( besides its a big point of the game itself, since stats dont really matter later on) : The ability to change there gears skins.
I mean c mon. You are selling item skins in shop and the game is centered araund obtaining cool skins, instead of dephending on stats and gear. So whats the point of taking away one of the most ipmportant aspects of the game from the class?
Whell if you aks me, that Cluster bomb on the bow is totally not assasin ish.

Actually i was trying to point this out : You cant keep rerolling, if you dont like 1 or 2 aspect or skill of a class. You could discard each class this way, since there are things you dont like in all of them.
I personally find a lot of things i dont like in ALL classes.
Exspecially if you think abaut the fact : there are so many tastes that you cant match them all, since the Class,weapon,skill sysem is extremely static, and leaves no place for personal costumization.
And for that reson exacly we must provide our opinions, (what we would like).

Another point i clearly stated, i cant find a silngle class that would fit me to the braking % where i can say “I clearly want to be this” ,becosue all the classes are totally unflexible and are forcing the “preset” thing (devs call class) on me. And i dont have the chance to costumize.
I am sure devs did realize this by now, and thats exacly the reson i provide my feeback and my opinion, to show them what we would like to see in the future. what “options” would make classes flexible.

Sooo after thinking a bit, i seen 2 options so faar that supposed to be viable.
The first is the so called “kit”. Adding another kit, that swaps out the Enginers 5 weapons skills is the most resonable, since we are talking abaut the Rifle itself here.
But if you go in detail, if you switch out your weapon it wont be a rifle anymore, so to speak, the idea kills itself, unless the kit wont switch the whole weapon out, only adds to it, for example a scope, or a “silencer” or any attachacment that narrows down the blunderbuss, to be effective at range.
The problem is you will have more utility skills then others. (trough i dont se the problem here, who on earth thinks : when this gets implemented, other classes wont recieve anything? )If you ask me, this will be actually a slight thing compared to the things we can expect soon, global class and game wide.
Second option is : To add another weapon tipe to Engineer, (shotgun or srapnel gun), and move the current skills to that weapon and add 5 more ranged themed skills to the rifle.
The problem with this is, that it adds a weapon purely Engineers can use, and thats not really a good solution.
Trough !!! I have the idea of not adding a weapon, but giving the option to “switch weapon” when using rifle and the Engineer will use the rifle with the “ranged” theme skill. Lets call it : Alters the weapon compontent or the weapon slightly and is able to use the same weapon differently.
This takes aways the need of a kit and the need to add another weapon. Basically, we get what we want, without the need to change anything in the game, excluding the “adding 5 skills” part.
If anyone find some more solutions please do post them. Lets start constructing this idea in detail, because it clearly shows there is a need for this. Anet will clearly see what we exacly want, and what are the ways and options they can go on with.
Whell i mostly agree, but i hope some understand the skills of bow and some other things really dont add up to the Assasin theme.
If arena net wants to make “base” classes that can be many things, he better makes a LOT more chance to costumize the classes and there gameplays.
If there wont be a class like purely themed on Assasin, i guess i am off, untill the “east” style expansion comes out.

Hm many point out the things i had in mind, i would also like to add to Zonzai and Coglin,s post, that I also dont understand the full concept of Enginer design.
They are “gadget” users, to conpensate for the lack of skills with weapons. But i dont agree with that. If a class can use a weapon at all, then that means they are good with it. Not just able to use it. (in my personal opinion almost anyone can use a rifle, i even se some pesants train with it) So thats why i dont understand, someone who is specialized in using a weapon, why cant it use it in any way he wants to?
The " perfers to because its xy class" is not really an exuse. The class might prefer, but in the end we players decide or not?

Even if it would not be a range intended class ( which he surely supposed to be checking the theme of the skills and class itself) players should be able to costumize there characters,classes to a certaint degree to that way they plan to use it.
As i alredy posted in a full topic on that, classes are currently TOTALLY UNFLEXIBLE. There skills, weapons, style, play mechanic can barely be costumized, or personalized.
I understand Anet worked hard to make the game itself awesome, and IT IS, but realize this : Classes are not a product you can “mass produce” to the shape you imagined.
They are not stereotype classes, because they are special in some way, but actually, i wanted a stereotipe kind of Nekromancer…keep this in mind a bit please.

Yes i agree, but its not something 100%. Since your opinion can be the same as the curent or all times general concensus.
Besides, there are many players who have resons, to base there opinions. Like a history of RPG gaming or Fantasy video games. Or overall, fantasy literature.
The whole reson, Gw2 was not souch a big hit even if the game itself was totally amazing and feels next gen. And that is the fact, that classes are to new stream, and lack Classical aproach. Which would have been good. Since most rpg, or mmorpg players like the and wait classical classes. and even the classical ones lack since, you cant costumize your gameplay, for the reson : weapons have a fixed skillset, and you are forced to use what you can, instead of what you like. But lets skip the indepth anaylise if the class skill weapon concept.
Whell i can only agree, trough i like to play Enginer as long range, Dmg, or Support. I dont dump all my traits only on dmg trough. But still get destroyed by some mesmers in like 3 sec somethimes.
I must also add, bunker builds are totally unfun, besides when you think how op you are, its boring and crappy looking and to wird to give a decent feeling.
Not to add, most ppl hate shields and some kits. I would personally not use anything beside granade kit.
1, Vaka You say all classes are equal and a plus 1 skill would throw up the balance?
Wrong : You can equip only 4 utility slot anyway. Even if you have more then others, wont effect the System at all, since you can only switch out of combat.
2, Besides, that it wont effect the balance at all, you think, when they add something like this, others wont get something? I mean, when they add something like this, then that time is the time when we get a big patch or update where they also add other things to other classes to. So moch abaut that.
3, Granades fill the role of xy. FOR YOU ! For me they dont becosue i dont like the feel of using them. So its a personal opinion, dont try to exuse it with the way the system or class-skill mechanic works.
4, I agree with ebigz, its the designers role to decide.
5,I undestand that many players are content with what they have right now, but keep it in mind : Not all are satisfied with the game or classes-skills-weapons they corrently have.
Or i might say for example : I am not satisfied with any class currently, and i cant decide which to play, and i am playing less and less with the game becouse of that. Even if there are classes i like they have parts i dont. And that would make me abandon the game instead of providing feedback, what i would like changed, added, fixed, upgraded?
You suggest, that i “get on with it” and stay unhappy with the class i pick finally and force myself on something that is only half fun? Becosue some others have a lesser expectation on there gameplay? A lot of players like me are quite fine tuned to gameplay styles, and you cant expect them all to be satisfied. And exspecially cant say they are wrong becouse its designed xy way, and you are right, becosue you like the way it is, and think that “if its designed this way it must be good and its good for you so its good owerall, and others are stupid to think its not good”
This does apply to all classes, not only Enginer.
6, I must also add as minor thout, there are barely any “real” long ranged nukers. Support? Yes a lot. But high burst or constant dmg not moch. Even Nekro and Mesmer ( who are pure cloth and should be ) are not that real long range nukers. ( or atleats not viable right now) Exspecially becouse of minion and illusion shatters. Actually to think of, Ranger and Ele and Rifle Warrs are the only decent Long range classes/spec .

I understand no dev or insider can provide future information on the game, or details of future contents, but i am seriously reconsidering not to play anymore.
I hardly find the current classes fitting to my taste, (atleast to full.)
They are roughly good, but in most details, lack something to me. Or they are designed in a way i dont feel confortible with.
For example Nekro, who feels more like a cultist then a real Nekromancer, most ppl portrey.
And i am alredy at the point of not playing at all. Unless i can decide what class to play, and i propably wont be able to do it unless i know there wont be or will be an Assasin Class.
If there will be i propably wont roll a Thief and spend my time on something i consider wasted after a class it conpensates comes out.
But if there wont be a Assasin class, and Thief is the compansating class to Assasin, then please say so.
By that i dont ask for insider information, more abaut asking : was Thief intended to be conpesation to assasin, or you have plans to make the class in the future?
Whell i personally must admit the game is awesome, but there are things amiss, that no matter what, make me play less and less.
I am right now getting to the point of taking a brake, and playing a bit more other mmo-s.
Tough i must admit, after playing 2 levels of MoP, i realized, how really good and next gen Gw2 is. THe non moving combat and crappy animations are out of date for sure.
But still, even if the game is awesome, the classes are boring and lacking. I still could not pick a class i want to play and thats becouse none of the classes fit me.
Which is tru in the most mmo-s to, but here they are so static, you cant even custumize them even al ittle. Traits are ok, but thats not the point.
Any way. When the “east” ern style expansion comes out, or we get atleast 4-5 more classes i am not really found of spending my days on the game. Sorry.

I would agree on anything, but give us weapons. Other classes have atleast 4-6 and keep in mind they all have insane good skins. Just check PvP locker and realize in what big way enginers are dumped.
I was dissapointed at first, when there was no personal house i could decorate and improve. Or buy at all.
Besides the fact Gw1 (and 2 is to) instanced by a LOT. And you can basically give permission to others to enter your instance, i dont see the point why was it not implemented.
Besides, did Anet say : You get to see as the story progresses you effect things…..Does that not mean we should have a house to?
Also, Gw1 had costumizable Guild halls. And we dont even have that in Gw2.
I actually find TOTALLY dissapointing it was not implemented….atleast so faar. But from what i see and hear they have to implement it soon.
Actually….if i know right, this was implemented, but its not in game yet, do to more pressing issues and lack of time. So it WILL be implemented. Dont get your hopes down!
BY all this i mean instanced housing. I think in “home area” would be even more cool to be costumizable, or would let you pick a house from the area after finishing the part of story or something.

In early betas i was eager to see how the skill unlocking mechanic works, but turned out to be nothing more then an interesting idea.
Since skills you unlock are needed quite early to be able to get araund, and most importantly you get them early so you dont have to spam the same 4-5 skills all the time and the game wont get boring.
But i see a flaw to that. didnt the devs realize, that will still aplly after like level 20, when you unlocked all your skills to your ( lets say like 5-6, which is seriously not moch ) weapons? Wont classes or skills get boring after some time? They do. Or if they do not, not all are satisfied with the skills that are fixed to there class weapons.
I think many players would love to costumize there skills to weapons, to fit them more.
But instead of giving free switch to players in weapons slots (like there is in utility) make them work for minor alternatives, that are fun, but basically need no rework, just another animation.
My suggestion is : After (lets take 30) some level, you start unlocking “advanced” skills to your weapon you currently use. But unlike the early skills, they would level a LOT slower. Like, you would need 3 levels worth of mobkilling, to get 1.
1, These skills would not be really advanced, but the same as the other, but could costumize your character in some way.
Example : Thief using dual pistol had the 3 th skill “Unload”, when he unlocks the avanced skill to it gets “Fan of Bullets” that would basically deal the same dmg in a cone in front of the thief, splitting the original dmg between foes in that area. (dooing actually exakittenhe same, but in a different way). I can imagine a cool sweeping hand motion for this, like there is in the maffia movies.
I do think this would add a LOT to the game, and would fix a lot of issues players have with playing the classes they like, but not liking some skills.
Besides, if well designed, the skills would be the same in different ways, keeping the balance to 100%.
Besides it would be fun, players would se a point in using there faworite weapons, and actually get better with it. And skill unlock would have a point afterall Cheeeeers !!!!

I decided again to play Necromancer. And i try not to look the way it is, but the feeling, i play a Necromancer.
And it is working in some way. Exspecially since its fun to play a barely played class anyway. But as soon as i started to PvP, my most beloved Role, or combat style is lacking.
I did research on the topic and found out, am i the only one that finds Nekromancer way to short ranged?
I mean, i cant stand up on the rooftop of a house on BAttle for Kyhlo and nuke ppl runing under me? Even mesmer can put down a Chaos Storm. Enginer can use Mortal, or Fling Granades, effectively when they are supposed to be a skirmish class, but Nekromancer cant, when is a “pure blooded cloth” caster??? Or is it me? Do i miss something?
I didnt found anything, but i still list the things i found out so faar. Why it lacks. In my opinion. (or if anyone can offer me a good way go on dont be shy)
1, Staff : 2-5 no go, many playeres simply wont run on them, or they are insanely hard to place from that range, to hit. Besides you cant place them to faar, and dont becouse of the big cd-s they are not really an option to spike or constant dmg.
2,Dagger Main hand, – no go, its more of a melee range. Not even with ofhand anything. Focus has no real nukes for long range.
3,Scepter main hand – Seems legit, (but its not a burst, its only auto attack) there are no real ofhand items that could offer decent skills for range besides daggers enfeebling blood again.
4,Axe is just totally medium or almost close range.
Most ofhand items also offer only support skills, and not real nukes. Exspecially not for long range.
Looking at utility i only see wells and signets (since pets suck and are not option on long range, exspecially if you are up on a roof). Wells are good, but they also have a long cooldown and must have a trait to make them placable.
So utiliy would be out of question anyway, even if you had good utility, they are ment for utility and not for constant dmg.
SOOOO is it me? Or I must leave my Necro again becosue the lack of something i like?
I mean whats going on? Necromancer is supposed to be my favourite class in any game, or rpg, or fantasy. Why is it so different in this game? I understand many players love the Necro as it is, but understand this Anet. MANY players are totally dissapointed in your improvistaion.
Anyone solution? Besides rerolling? Or hoping for more weapons or anyting?
Ok What i like in the same order. The best and the first things i realized.
Maps: Maps are the best thing in Guild Wars 2. They are extremely detailed, superb looking, designed and tested, not only for the amazing view, but also for working, and Combat.
The cityes are all interesting looking and have a good concept.
The PvP maps are worth a whole ode. Foefire and Battle for Kyhlo are amazing. The terrain (rooftops and houses, objects) are tested for skill ranges, so the players can use there ranged weapons to support from a Rooftop and actually DO get adventage for using hights. This is a thing rarely any game could achive so faar. Congratulation !!!
Skills. Trough i dont like all the look of skills, i must also say, some look extremely detailed and good and tested for the “good look” no matter what or how you use.
For example Rangers flying pets have insanely good and detailed movement and attack animations. I have not seen any game with souch good Flying animal animations.
Or Dragons breath on Elementalists. Or lets mention dodge moves, looks incredebly cool whan you roll to an downed enemy and finish him. Makes characters a lot more mobile and makes you realize there many more options in combat then to run araund and spam skills.
Weapon and armor skins. At first i was wondering why weapons only have 1-2 skins, but then checked pvp locker and realized, item skins really do use out the maximum of the game engine. They look totally mind blowing. I personally made a Character with the nick name : The lion, becosue of the Liongard weapons. Most of them are not only good looking, but realistic to use to.
Heavy armor is also simply mind blowing, and light to.
Guilds are fun to be in. The whole system rox. You can be in many guilds at once, still you can talk to any of them, and represent only 1. And the upgrade from influance is really fun.
I could also mention many more minor things, but lets agree on the fact, that the most of the things Anet promised, are fulfilled. And the most important. MMO’S are multiplayer again for once. The whole reson players play multiplayer games is to play with others. Another congratulations IT DOES WORK ! Good design.
Fort dissapointment was the Cutscenes.
I understand that you wanted to design the game in the way : See whats going on in game, and not in a cutscene.
But this feels a bit …walled in. In Gw1 you seen cutscenes, with the game engine, and even if it was mostly talk, you could se action, and your “hero” move araund do stuff, run away. It gave him a personality, a charisma HE DOES EXIST and does effect things and the world, and other NPC-s .
The only talk is not a cutscene at all to me. I could have a popup window above the character and se the same “cutscene” , it would give the same feeling. You are just talking. (abaut the story). This kind of ruins the mood. If you seen a real cutscene you could say : I dont know what is going to happen next second.
This actually would make the are cases(when its not in cutscene) a “dragon lands” even more epic, since things like this usually happen in cutscenes, and not in real game time.
Ok so whell those are the main concepts i found amiss, and let me say, i could add a LOT more, but those are more specific and minor to be mentioned, since “fixing” those concepts would make a game so awesome minor details like Guild Halls would mean little compared to awesome gameplay even with the things the game can offer just now.
My third greatest issue was combat
I must say, at first weeks i was raging, and was so confused : This is it? What the hell? Seriously or something wrong with me? Am i dooing it wrong?
But after that i realized it is a thing some also noticed, so it cant be a lie.
I kind of chilled out now, and barely even remember this, but it does exist, and might be a problem later on.
To be blunt, combat is way to simple.
It is interactive to be sure, dodge, and a well timed parry can help a lot, but in the end, or in most cases all you do is (dephending on your class) Auto attack, and spam nukes. Or avoid attacks and nuke meantime ( example kiting )
In the first days i was shocked, how can this be tactical? No matter what order i spam my skills i still kill the enemy in the end. The only thing that mattered was to keep kiting (if needed, sadly in most cases i didnt even need it). In 1v1 elite mobs it was atleast a bit tactical, but in bigger fights i just nuked mostly.
And that still didnt change moch, trough its totally good in pvp, mostly. The terrain and map gives you the fun and excitement your class can offer, mostly.
So i dont know for what reson is this, but might be the reson there is no “holly trinity” .The system is good as it is, making “healer” or “tank” only classes is bad. There time is gone. Even trough fantasy and RPG combat is mostly fun becosue you can pick what role you take, but these dont exist in here.
When actually they should in some moderated way, but not for some classes, instead for all classes, but a bit more indepth. Its fine that all Classes have heal, but that wont suffice.
I would personally give another 1-2 skills bars you can switch to, instead of switching weapon and make an Healer, Tank ish skillset for all classes. (or simply expand skillbars to 10-12 )
Each class could take up any role still, but could only be 1 at the time, and that would make him the hybrid class you intended to design. It would also make combat a LOT more exciting, since you could REACT to anything thats going on. And not just dropp buff-s and debuffs, or nuke.
I understand you wanted to improve the RPG “roles”, but they are mostly fine. Support,DD,Tanking, are a part of life, and fantasy and rpg. I dont say Support,DD,control trinity you designed is bad, but the other one is still better. I think.
I must add, after reading my post, that giving classes the ability to take on roles wont mean they are ONLY those roles. They still can do anything they could, but they could take on roles to.
And more importantly, the gameplay should STAY as it is. Making the Roles not needed, but an option, you can take on.
Thats the exact reson many loved Gw1 system with the “auto healer” heroes. It was not forced, but could still pick up the role.

Weapon skills, and Classes.
My second biggest dissapointment came a bit later, after abandoning my Nekromancer and checking out other classes atleast till 20-30, and some pvp.
It was a bit of in depth experiance that made me see this topic.
In my point of view, classes are way to non flexible.
In a fantasy rpg classes start as basic classes exacly for the reson they could be custumized later on to taste. And not only in Skills, Theme or Personality, but gameplay to.
The pure reson there are Wizard or Mage classes in Mmo’s. Trough they all make the mistake of making them as a class on there own, instead of an base class that can evolve later to Schools of magic or even themes as : Swift battle elementalist with a Glaive (just example)
This problem kind of stacks intensively in Gw2. Since Classes have fixed weapons to use (and i must add not moch so faar to pick from) and Weapons have fixed skills.
If an exaple : Thief does not like the skills his bow offers, has no alternative, to make his bow or class more fit to him. (if i say an example he wants to be more assasin ish) This is kind of a big issue, even if barely any player realizes this .
This is the thing that tipically makes you feel uneasy, then you start to be unsatisfied with your class, then you end up keep rerolling, and last but not least stop playing.
I must also add, i dont know the perfect solution to this, but more weapons to pick from might work. Or More weapons from the same tipe, so classes can be more Costumizable, and pick a theme for the class they play.
A full remake of all classes and class-weapon-skill system is not an option.
First of all i would like a Feedback topic on the forum, but i guess this will do anyway, since i want to mention a lot of suggestions to.
I must state trough, my english grammer is not that awesome, exuse me for that. Second i must also state that i was a big fan of Gw1, and i was waiting Gw2 like a Messiah, that will bring back the glory of the old RPG-s and games. And it did, in some moderated way. Why moderated? Whell i try to list the things i think might be responsible for that.
I must say trough, i try to be objective, but i am still a person that bases its opinion mostly on its personal experiance, and that makes me a bit subjective no matter what. Please respect that, as i do the responses and comments.
Ok to topic then. I try listing my dissapointments in the order,what disturbed me the most and leave the things thatsi found exeptionally good.

My first and biggest dissapointment was the Necromancer class. Almost in a whole. My most favorite class was Necromancer in any Fantasy or RPG game, but i was dissapointed.
Not sure the resons, actually to many. But i might say it was the way Anet Portreyed Necromancer, with the Dagger stabbing and no Long range Nukes. For me something like “Tome of Wrath” skill only Necromancer themed is Casting spells. And not Planting “mines” on the floor. Feels more like a rune Priest from Warhammer. The rest of the weapons are short or medium ranged. And Scepter is like a Wand that you swing araund, instead of focusing spells trough it ( i mean you do, but i was poiting on the animation how it looks)
Even if i say, skills are ok, the theme and animation are not fitting for my taste.
I dont understand why is the class remade this way? Afterall, most players wish for a Gothic Fantasy Classic Nekromancer. That is more of a Dark wizard, then a Cultist that summons some undead bunnyes.
Is it becosue the game is ment to be more Mainstream? And not Pointed towards RPG fan, like games ware in old times?

Whell, not sure how to put it but i must state, the NonTrinity is working, but :
Since there are no Combat roles, the whole combat gets centered araund play style. And the look of combat. This is where it gets complicated, becouse it attaches to Weapons system and classes.
Since Weapons have a fix skill list, some players might imagine there classes other wise. For example : I like the assasin like feeling of the thief, but bow skills wont fit it and i hate it. Makes me not to be satisfied with the class and play another one, that will have the same problem like all the classes. And only fans that force themself to lie to themselfs, will 100% like classes. Becosue they cant and dont want to look things objective.
In other words, you might say classes are not flexible? Or weapon skills system is not flexible?
Another complicated thout.
Lets start with classes :
Classes are fine, but they are alredy to specialized in some way, to be able to be costumized. For exaple :
Nekromancer is a Caster that specializes in the Summoning and Nekromantic spells. And not just magic overall. And in the game they are even more “walled” in becoue they are only fixed to spells Anet thout up.
Which would not be a problem, skills are fine, but some might imagine his Necro otherway. Which would also not be a problem if he could pick from a skill list to costumize his class inside his class limits, but hecant becosue he got fixed weapons with fixed skills.
So as you see character costumization, or more like Play style’s are way to static, players need more weapons, or a slight skill system fine tuning.
Atleast in my opinion. I hope my english was not so bad, and all can understand what i am saying.

2, Besides that, there are no roles, the trinity is gone, and since you cant fill some role, it wont matter what class you pick, its more like abaut, play style. But classes cant pick play style. They must use the skills they are given to.
Example: I might like Thief overall, but hate bow skills, i wont like the class in the end. Only becouse i cant change a slight part of it.

Besides, Your personal opinion is that you like the animation, but it does bother you how it works, and its actually exacly becouse of the way of animation. You are talknig against yourself. Besides thats your personal opinon and wanting to use Scepter is my personal opinion.

2, ALL the complainers who rage on me and others, for wanting to remake the rifle skills also READ the topic, since noone atleast I DID NOT SAY anything like that.
3,I want to improve the game for all, at best add a thing that improves it for some but wont really effect others, exspecially NOT THE BALANCE of the combat or game. and Not remake something.
4,The improvements i suggest are my personal opinions, based on my personal experiance and feeling, but keep in mind i try to be objective, since i dont want to remove the curent system , i also think on other players. But also keep in mind that, trough many wont angree with me, many might do. Not all players use forum or speak there mind. In the end the best thing is compromise, and thats exacly what i try to do. Unlike the thick head ppl who come here and rage abaut things i dont even say, they dont even bother reading the posts, just want WHAT THEY want. 5, We are talking here abut the theme,animation and feeling of using a Rifle in the hands of Engineer and not abaut the EFFECT, or role Engineer can or does fill.
6, Having a Ranged feeling kit WONT effect the role or class itself, since enginer ALREDY HAS a Ranged dd skillbar, with granades or mortal and a lot of things. Adding another STYLE wont effect the game in the extreme ways you ppl think.
7,I just sead Sniper kit as an example, any other theme will do, i see many posts with simply saying “ranged rifle kit”. That kind of expresses it all.
Thats all i really had to say, i hope noone takes this personally or offensive, but i was seriously kitten by ppl saying the same stupid things all over without even reading the post, or thinking a bit more in depth. ( or way to deep actually)

3, Extremely fun in pvp (exspecially when you can use out the terrain)

Hmm not bad. But ppl mostly posted all the good ones for Enginer. Thats almost all. I found 3-4 more that is good, but if it would be the only issue i have, i would stay Engi for sure, since the PvP is so extremely fun i have hard to not to play it.
But Anytime i play it i have this strange feeling keep growing and realize, i wont stand by and see others have 4-5 tipe of weapons with totally mind blowing looks, when i have basically 3 (i only use 1 actually).
Not only that, but kit’s cant change weapon skins, and more importantly they equipp a backpack and that makes whe whole Hero totally piace of …..k i think i stop this now, dont even want to think abaut this.
