Yes. I heavily dislike open world zerging/chaotic content.
To this day I’ve played the last two maps added to the game less than 5 hours.
Meanwhile I’ve spent countless of hours playing FOTM.
Here’s wondering why HA (Heroes’ Ascent), a simple Team Death Match with few extra mechanics did far more better in GW1 than GW2 is doing (PvP).
Why do they have to go after all these gimmicky game modes, mix moba, conquest, buffs, and all the other things.
“R” in MMORPG has lost it’s meaning long time ago.
There are multiple ways out of spawn.
Yeah, I don’t think it matters.
Its not that we are afraid to get killed… its that we don’t want to spend time doing things we don’t like to do while playing a game to have fun…
The entitlement.
I don’t like playing PvE.
I got my 100% 2 years ago.
Hammer is great in FOTM. Been running it forever.
Also, here’s a nice trick:
Cliffside Fractal. Use Banish on Legendary Archdiviner to knock hi down against the nearby wall/the foot of the giant. The boss will lock and no longer attack you.
So farming if bad, using your credit card is good?
It all depends on your luck. I’m mainly a WvW player and I PUG most of the time.
I’ve had it all. From parties that clean all 3 fractals in 30 minutes to multiple Swamp boss fails, 2 hour runs and people who doesn’t even speak English.
I do recall YB working with HoD (someone post those glorious pictures from FA Garrison with HOD and YB sitting together), nothing has changed over months.
As far as I’m concerned, you already showed FA back then that you’re not interested into fair matchups.
Low drop rates encourage people to use gem store.
The sales would go down if you could “easily” get better looking weapon/armor skins in game.
Lets be real here, no one likes Yaks, DB, FA, SoS, none of them enjoy playing against them and their turtle tactics. If these 4 (T2) servers had the option to vote out one server, YB would be gone.
Why do I have to play PvE to get 100% map completion if I;’m exclusively WvW player?
Opinion on that OP?
What’s the point of even having these skills anyway?
If they were to be removed from the game entirely no one would care because there’s almost no one using them.
As far as I’m concerned, these racial skills are just there to serve as an illusion of skill variety.
Been playing sine beta and I’ve seen Charr bazooka literally less than 3 times.
I know someone who’s been playing since the launch ans still runs max signet mix mash Elementalist build and spams skills completely randomly.
PvE does not incentivize people to get better at all.
You can do almost all PvE content, events and dungeons running incoherent build with random traits and green armor.
And the worst part is, whenever I suggest this person to change his build he always replies “I don’t care.”
I don’t know what the player was playing (or if he was hacking) but I once played against a ranger who perma evaded (literally) 1v4.
If it’s legit, that’s probably the best roaming class/build.
Lets see:
People don’t want mobs to be able to evade AoEs – monsters stay static.
People don’t want toughness to play more important lore – DPS > everything else.
People don’t want healing power to play more important lore – DPS > everything else.
Hence Zerker stays the best option for PvE.
Judging from your post history, you must be new here.
Thank you for the input, had a cleric armor from the good old days and wanted to make something fun and different.
And of course you can’t be a healer in gw2 and healing power scales terribly, but whatever, at least a nice change for a bit.
Yeah, perhaps carrion or rabid.
For solo camp flipping, and zerging.
I really don’t want to be playing the regular Berserker build.
Suggestions?
Eh, yeah, the idea might not he great, but I want to try something different. Allready have all the other meta builds and setups.
The monster design and AI is pretty terrible or non existent, that is the core problem for the lack of diversity when it comes to armor.
But of course, Arena Net knows that most people would complain if they were to increase the difficulty – make monsters hit harder or make them dynamic.
Look at the Mai Trin pre nerf – she 2 hit you as a Light armor wearer if you were using Zerk armor. And what happened – people complained and Mai was nerfed, and so we continue to face roll her spamming 1 11 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 every day withour caring for anything (of course you need to know how to dodge).
I just love these people who want more diversity but are against the implementation of PvE content where Healing Power/Toughness matters.
“No Tanks!” “No Healers” “No Berserkers!” “No Roles!” “Nerf Healing Power” “Nerf Toughness”
So where does it leaves us?
Just messing around, want to build something fun, not necessarily good, nor bad.
So there’s the idea, go full hardcore Cleric/Healing Power and pretend to be a Monk.
For WvW/Zergs.
Your Opinions people?
No one likes to play against YB, hopefully they dont encourage more servers to play like them.
It’s no fun to play against people who sit in their towers with their ACs never come out.
Don’t worry, WvW Developers commented on WvW Achievement more than a year ago and confirmed to change the achievements in future, so there, give or take few years and maybe by the third expansion of GW2 we’ll have realistic WvW achievements.
Eh, giving Longbow to Guardian would be pretty boring, too much like Warrior.
Personally, I’d love seeing main hand Shield or Spears.
So what happens to Sea Dragon?
Will it somehow swim to Tyria completely invalidating the “no contact” thing?
Start preparing your zerg, you’ll need at least 10 Guardians with Stand Your Ground and Hallowed Ground.

Looks like Skyhammer.
Will we ever go back to Cantha or Elona?
Seeing how this mini expansion supposedly took more than a year to make (just the jungle biome), it’s really hard to imagine them creating and releasing full fledged Cantha continent with Kaineng city, Echovald Forest and Jade Sea.
I imagine it wouldn’t be hard for them to eventually release Crystal Desert, Dominion of Wind, Char/Norn homelands, but I just don’t see them doing large continents at this point or the past pace.
Hey Devon, will the new WvW updates be actually based on player feedback? On all the past CDIs, discussions and suggestions?
No new dungeons.
No new fractals.
1 new map in 2.5 years. Hopefully it’s at least massive.
So much new PvE.
Whatever we’re going to see, I can assure to you, it won’t be a traditional MMO expansion pack.
Im certain that it wont be a traditional expansion pack and that it won’t add even half as much as the WoW expansions.
I won’t be shocked.
Good job, looks awesome.
That being said, knowing Arena Net, and the attitude they’ve shown before regarding other great suggestions, don’t get your hopes up.
No one has to agree with the truth for it to be true.
Did you go to the EoTM beta. Many of the big WvW guilds were there. Why do you bother answering when you clearly have no idea of what went on?
Nice fallacy.
I agree, there’s no point in arguing with you, I’m wrong, you’re right, just like always on any given topic.
To see what major success EOTM was (just like Skyhammer) all I have to do is log into the game and see it for myself.
EOTM clearly is serving its purpose.
Have a nice day.
Prediction: Logan, Eir, and Zojja will survive the attack/crash.
No way?!
Hopefully this is the last plant people story arc we’re getting, I doubt I’m the only one who’s rather tired of seeing sylvari in everything.
Since dungeon team has been apparently disbanded since the last year, and no FOTM up dates, I find it hard to believe that we’ll be getting decent chunk of new dungeons.
Here’s what EOTN gave to us back in GW1:
41 new armor sets, including rare, stand-alone pieces
100 new profession-specific skills (10 per profession, none of which are elite)
50 new PvE only skills including 3 elite skills
10 new heroes
18 Dungeons
15+(?) New maps.
Again, I’ll be happy to eat my word and be proven wrong, but I don’t see them adding as much content as EOTN did.
I wanted to see them go with the fan favorite – long discussed Cantha – before dwelling deeper into new regions/stories.
Personally, I don’t feel connected to anything that’s happening in Silverwastes or Dry Top., out of all 8(?) Living Story updates, I’ve only finished two.
Oh well, here goes my hopes for PvE.
I’m actually quite disappointed, If this is indeed the “big background project” they’ve been working for two years.
I’ve never been into the new lore of GW2, or PvE, however I always hoped that we’ll be returning to the other two continents by the time the first expansion rolls out, but, it’s quite obvious that this new thing confirms the opposite, it’s as if they’re avoiding GW1.
So, no thumbs up from me, but I’m hoping that this supposed expansion pack at least brings a new map and extremely needed WvW changes.
Why not focus on Tengu instead of Sylvari, why is Arena Net focusing on creating new story instead of expanding on what’s already been built?
Didn’t think of anything, didn’t care for any off the characters.
If anything, I found fighting those monsters annoying, wave after wave, was painful.
And I don’t particularly care for the whole Dragon fight either or for that “plot” twist.
I would much rather have preferred mini expansion on Tengu, but screw that, plant people are more important.
For me, personally, It’s really saddening that they’re still continuing ignoring Elona and Cantha, but, I’d be more than glad to be wrong if that turns out to be wrong with this supposed expansion.
Really, what about Tengu, Palawa Joko, The Empire Of Dragon, Sunspear? Why do we need all these new stories? Why can’t we just expand of what we already built in GW1?I suspect this is only the 1st of several expansions and I’m sure at some point it will be redirected towards Cantha, they know how popular it would be.
China is against Cantha, as far as we are lastly updated about the situation. Anet will probably not release an expansion if it can’t be bought by all of its’ costumers. In this case, Cantha will simply not make it to the chinese version.
What I wonder is why anet gives a kitten . Blizzard creates an asian style expansion, arenanet did create an asian style expansion for gw1 and there are many asian styled mmo’s out there. Seriously, why do they suddenly care so much while no one else does.
Cantha is part of the Guild Wars universe wether china wants it or not, they just have to deal with it.
Tyria in GW2 is far from what it used to look like in GW1.
If they really wanted to make Cantha, they’d certainly find a way.
Remember that old futuristic city concept art? Why can’t we have Kaineng with huge skyscrapers, metros, etc, you don’t have to copy paste slums from GW1.
You don’t have to even make Cantha look Asian.
Why can’t we just expand of what we already built in GW1?
Well then, it looks like we’re not heading back to Cantha any time soon.

I’d welcome any expansion (if it adds dungeons, wvw, skills and weapons) however I would also be deeply disappointed if they still continued ignoring Cantha and Elona.
