Do you remember the Commander CDI 1 year ago? Why we got only 3 more colors out of it? I love the idea of CDI, but after this I wonder if the community’s time and effort are wasted…
Or maybe the big improvements to the commander system are yet to come?

The main things that came out of that CDI was different colors for tags and account-bound tags.

Commander Visibility
More options for the Color/Shape of the tag itself. This could be tied to functionality or rank of commanders but mainly targeted around organization.
Removal of buff display to enemies. As well as we should avoid doing skills/abilities that highlight the commander to enemies.
Ability to limit visibility to a sub group, party, guild, ect..
Tag sizing. (I debate this a bit as when you auto size the tag you can often lose the ability to see how far away something is but it was brought up a lot so listing it here)
Add squads to LFG system.Commander Tools
More detailed supply info that’s always up. (Increased radius)
Ability to create sub roles within a squad.
Current squad tools are rarely used.
Seems to be some debates on buffs to followers, but there is a lot of good examples of ways to do that.

Current 100g gate isn’t the cleanest gate. (Whole goal behind a gate is to limit the number of commanders out there.
Gating using WvW abilities seems to have some debate to it, but seems like something we should avoid.
Account bound commander tags vs character bound.This wasn’t even half of the suggestions in that thread either. The fact that Anet paid it’s WvW team (if there is one anymore) for 8+ months to add different colors to Commander Tags and make them Account-Bound is baffling. Yes, i know, they also worked on EotM, and Golem Mastery, and Siege Disabler, but EotM came out in February 2014. That’s 7 months for Golem Mastery and Siege Disabler?
So yes, i agree with Chris Whiteside, and it’s not worth the frustration when player’s suggestions are ignored. And yes, they were ignored and weren’t implemented.

After 2 WvW CDIs, 8 months later, all WvW developer team can deliver to us is new Tag colors, new mastery and siege disable trick?
I’m no programmer, however, I fail to see how this would take 8 months considering the size of the Arena Net.
Great suggestions, feedback and well thought out criticism has been written many times before, however, there’s no fruition.

Just wait until they show Guardian.
Remove CD from Glacial Heart trait.
Add Cripple to Leap of Faith.
Increase the attack speed of Mace and Scepter.
Change Zealot’s Defense so you can use it while moving.
Halve the CDs on Shield.
Make the Healing skills scale appropriately to healing power.
Halve the CD on Sanctuary.
Halve the CD on Contemplation of Purity
Make the Merciful Intervention targetable

Roaming is terrible for OCX in T2, there is barely anyone to fight.
Because there are no OSX players on FA or Mag.

Nice to see a red post, especially from you Mike, been wondering where have you been, hopefully Colin is doing good too.
That being said, actions speak louder than words.
9 Months of gathering feedback on WvW CDI threads and nothing ever came of it, except for a tag, which I doubt took months to implement.

Hopefully there are no free transfers.
With the same old PPT system, inevitable server stacking and people leaving for the winning server, I couldn’t say I’m excited all that much.
Plus, Gold League, if FA and MAG stay, they’ll be losing every week, so there’s really no competition, the score will be known before the season starts for the 4-6 servers.

Yes. Except you play the Dress Up Barbie through the gem store – that’s where everything good looking gets added.
I mean, it’s alright to have delays, and changes in plans, but they could at least explain why.
They most certainly don’t have to do that, but if they don’t communicate at all there will be quite a bit of people disappointed and asking for questions.
You know, if they were to come out and say that they’re currently working on Cantha expansion, without releasing absolutely no additional information, people would easily get extremely hyped.
I bet, this alone would bring tons of people back to the game.
But honestly, what’s going on at Arena Net?
How come Colin no longer posts here? How come he’s no longer attending these major events like Gamescon?
What happened to Looking Forward 2013 Blog Post which was made year ago?
What happened to regular skill updates?
All this makes me think that there’s just something quite “bad” going on at Arena Net.
Maybe they’re not doing great financially? Maybe NCsoft it taking too much money from GW2 and investing it in other products?

One has to wonder what’s going on at Arena Net if they fail to deliver most of their so called promises and road maps.
Nerg FGS and people just go to the next thing, be it 100 Blades or something else.
The OP said it right – PvE Dungeons are dull and boring, people just want to finish them as fast as possible.
Don’t forget GW1 had much more frequent balance updates.
Meta was hardly stale during the prime of the game.
I really don’t get why the balance updates are so infrequent in GW2 given the number of developers and game designers working at Arena Net now compared to then.
All attention on PvP? WvW? Care to back it up with anything?
This game is not focused on either of those, even though they’re claiming to be making sPvP an e-Sport, it just won’t happen.
GW2’s main focus is PvE. It’s where the real money is. It’s where the people spend the most on gems, not the WvW or sPvP, thus the lack of development and frequent updates, balancing on these parts of the game.
As someone who doesn’t even touch Living Story, I personally, don’t feel like this game has added anything significant and new to this game this year.
I guess at this point, people are already starting to realize what GW2 is and what it wont be.
With few and far between updates people are already losing interest. The waiting is too long for WvW and SvP.

What’s there to explore after you get 100% world?
There’s not much to see after you’ve explored the world once or twice, after that, it just gets boring and you’ve already seen everything and you can’t find something unique.
What ever happened to Colin? Wasn’t he supposed to be the big public face of GW2?
He must be busy and he can’t be everywhere to promote the game, but judging from the forum, he hasn’t been very active lately.
As for the marketing failure, this isn’t the first time.
Manifesto is the best example.
In my humble opinion we need more AC lines and buffs.
Maybe add Skyhammer skill to AC.
With the inflation, and now tag being account bound, I don’t think the initial cost of 300G is all that bad.
Back when I bought the tag last year, 100G were equal to around 4000+ Gems, now 100G is equal to around 75 Gems.
However asking additional 300G for a different color is just insane.
Colors should be free, or at least unlockable via playing WvW, the place where Commander tags were supposed to be used.
Perhaps they’ll reveal additional ways one can unlock different colors by playing the WvW, but I wouldn’t count on it.
WvW needs no money sink, PvE needs it. WvW players are already poor by having to buy all the food, new armor, runes and sigils.
Prestige PvE armor should be tied to extremely difficult and skillful content, not based around RNG or grinding.
Currently there’s absolutely nothing in PvE that would justify implementation of this kind of an exclusive armor.
Winning sPvP tournament requires great dedication, skill and effort, contrary to using your credit card on gems or getting lucky using mystic forge.
In my opinion there should be more exclusive sPvP and WvW armors to reward the most dedicated players.
There are already tons of different skins unavailable to WvW/sPvP players who don’t play PvE.
And PvE is already by far the most updated part of GW2.
I’d love seeing new skills, especially weapon skills.
That being said, I have no faith in Arena Net.
The skills they’ve released so far, most of them are next to unusable.
There was no end game in GW1.
There was optional skin/achievement grind. (You could literally get maxed character with all maxed stats and all skills in less than 5 hours.)
GW2 doesn’t even have that. RNG is beyond insane and acquiring something rare and good looking is next to impossible.
Not to mention all the good looking weapon and armor skins get added only through the gem store.
And these are only few issues of the PvE.
WvW and sPvP is entirely different cluster kitten.
Kindled Zeal and Amplified Wrath.
Before all the condition builds, it was worth having decent amount of armor.
Now with all the condition spammers running rampart in WvW, I rather sacrifice defense for extra offense. I’m playing mostly guardian though.
Toughness is hardly broken. Any glass cannon that walks around in WvW knows this.
2800 Toughness is perfectly enough for WvW.
I’m hoping for WvW update. They did the whole EOTM + LS thing, wouldn’t be too surprised if they repeated it.

I just can’t stop thinking why they’re not recreating something similar to UW or FoW in GW2. Those instances would probably be even better in GW2 without tanking or healers. Imagine Aatxes hitting you for 6000.
I was quite happy with the recent Mai Trin “bug” – the one that made here 3-4 hit you.
My party was doing rather poorly keeping themselves alive and free of conditions, so I rerolled with my Cleric WvW Shout Build. It was nice to see that I was actually useful for a change running a Heal build – helping my team by healing them and keeping them alive.
Unfortunately they fixed her and it’s now another face roll boss.
I’m not even going to argue, especially with you Vayne.
If the game is built around ABC far more than D then using the basic math and logic it is obvious that ABC will get played more.
Now flip that around.
Compare the open world content to high level Fractals.
Which gets more frequent updates and new content.
Now. Which gets played more often? Which one doesn’t because of the lack of updates and repetitiveness?
FOTM alone is makes less than 1% of the whole the available PvE content hence gets played far less.
And I’ve never heard of Lord Of The Rings online.
Provide the same info with Wildstar.
Don’t forget Cantha, Elona and finally all the stuff Manifesto video promised.
For me the substitute for end game is WvW.
Unfortunately it’s by far the least updated game mode in GW2.Because revamping the rewards system several times, moving the JP to it’s own map and adding a “recreational” waiting area you can farm isn’t updating it enough.
Nice joke. You’re clearly not a WvW player. No one cares about JP. No one cares about pveEOTM, rewards have been underwhelming since the day one even with the so called “revamps”. What WvW players do care about – poor PPT sysyem – hasn’t been addressed for two years now.

Guild Wars 1 story wasn’t all that great either, however it was/is better to what we have in GW2.

They probably would play better than you in a week or two.
Plus, with the internet, they have already seen and heard everything,.
Any laptop with decent i5 and 1GB DDR5 will do just fine.
By fine I mean medium settings.
What about using full PTV instead of Zerk?
That would make my Crit chance 4%, however I’d have much more Armor and Vitality.
With full Zerker set my Crit chance isn’t that spectacular anyway – 23% and 192%.
Simple as that. Has been happening since the last “patch”.
If I press Windows Key and minimize the game, then maximize it back, keyboard is not working anymore.
I’m using Logitech (I’ve read Logitech users having problem like this) wireless mouse, and as far as I know I have no background Logitech programs running that could interfere with the game.
I’ve never had this before.

For WvW, both small and large zergs.
I want to find something new and interesting.
Already have Meditaion Guard, Shout Guard, Healway Guard, PTV , etc.
How about you OP make your own party and roll FOTM?
How come all these crying threads mostly come from people who refuse to make their own parties with their own specific rules e.g. – everyone allowed.
How come these people are ignoring the set rules by the other party creators and want to force their own play style to others?
If party specifically says “Speed clear” or “Experienced only” – don’t join just to preach how stacking is bad and how taking lesser experienced players is elitism.
I’ve been playing FOTMs since their release, always on my guard, and I’ve never been kicked. And I almost always play exclusively with pugs.
