If you are just salvaging white items, the crude or basic kits work just fine. If you are trying to get a rune or sigil etc. off of an item when salvaging it, you will want to use Master (80% change of getting the rune) or Black Lion (100% chance) salvaging kits. I haven’t found much of a use for the blue or green salvaging kits, myself.

Sure is—you are well prepared. Just get a good group; that’s the important thing. Find others with experience with the dungeon to lead you through it.

Come on, guys, be nice—he asked a valid question. What you mean, Monsoon, is that the Black Lion doesn’t properly load for you, right? It does that for me too, sometimes, usually when I’m trying to sell something from my inventory. I just close it and try to open it back up and it usually works fine. I think it might be related to internet speed—do you have a slow connection?

I am not a good one to answer that question…I would think that maybe you should get rid of the MF if you do not use it. But I wanted to give this a “bump” so that maybe someone else would have better advice.

I second this…my personal preference would be for tools to “level up” with you as you do, so you are never having to worry about this. It seems like an unnecessary complication. However, the way it is set up, some kind of notification that you are about to use an inferior tool on a node would be great (broken red tool icon upon mouseover or something similar).

No doubt this has been suggested before, but in searching for it I could not find it, so here goes…

My mesmer cannot do 100% map completion because if she does, she will have a star and her clones will not, defeating the purpose of having clones when faced with human opponents. Not only does she have to forgo the recognition of having the accomplishment, but this also means she cannot craft her own legendary weapon.

I am sure this is an oversight, but it bothers me every time I play her.

Someone said that these dyes have an innate glowing effect sometimes: white gold, celestial, icing, mint frost, silver, frost, ash, antique bronze, oxblood, oil slick, black, and abyss. Since illuminate wasn’t on that list I’m not sure that helps…and they’re really not that green.

I second that idea! Elegant, simple, easy solution. As it is, the stuffing/glue is too expensive to even consider buying, for me.

I think they sent the gifts to everyone because some people didn’t get them when they talked to Tixx. So yes, now you have two 15-slot boxes, and enough cogs to make a third minipet when some do not. I cannot imagine however that you will be punished for that, as many, many others will be in the same situation.

Somewhere in another thread, an official reply to this was that there wasn’t time to get this implemented before the event, but that there may be an update to it down the road. So hang on to them if you have them.

Ha ha, and I just responded to that post. Will ignore it in the future.

As far as I know, the only tonics that have emotes are the Charr toy soldier (has Charr-like emotes) and the terrifying Princess doll (that has human female emotes). The griffon and golem do jump though.

You can get them all later, don’t worry. ANet learned from that mistake, at least.

I have similar problems to yours when I attempt to use my mumble overlay with GW2. Not sure if you are using that or not…

You get them as drops (not sure if they’re loot drops or chest drops) in the higher levels of the fractal dungeon.

Technically, legendary weapons are not the best. They are not superior to other exotic weapons, which you can get with the same stats. They just look cooler! (although that is a matter of opinion and debate). So your goal is to get all exotics with a secondary goal of making them look the way you want.

When you hit level 80 a good set of rare (yellow) armor and weapons shouldn’t be too expensive. Start there, and upgrade piece by piece with exotics.

overall, event is satisfied for me (got one mad king armor! soulbound it ^__^ ) but only if the mad king tower jumping puzzle can be set for solo instance rather than with other players…

also, the free devil horn can’t seem to be obtainable for me… bought with 0 gems, not found anywhere… but i got the Anet cap at the beginning of the game launched… so what’s wrong?

also, i find that costumes purchased from gem stores is only for the current logged in character is really not friendly to players unlike Guild Wars 1 which is an account wide costumes…. sigh

Just some clarifications for you:

1) You do not have to be there right when the event starts to get the achievement. You can log in anytime during the approximately 24 hours it will be up.

2) If you purchased your devil horns they will appear in your mailbox. If it is full (only holds 10 items, alas) your mail will not appear until you clear out the old mail.

3) The costumes purchased from the gem store are not only for the currently logged in character. They are account bound and you can later stick them in your bank and then withdraw them with another character. I have done it and I know it works.

Yes, they’ve said that you don’t need it. Or the pumpkin carving one. I would believe them.

You can tell which names are reserved, because when you try to use it, it says “This character name is reserved.” not “This character name is in use.” That’s pretty easy to figure out. I’m not looking for a list. The non-used GW names are not up for grabs; that’s my point.

Vulture? I simply want a name that someone else evidently doesn’t, as they haven’t bought Guild Wars 2 and used it. I’m sure there are a lot of other people out there in the same boat. Sure, I could spell it a different way, but I’d rather not.

In a nice move, the character names for anyone who had logged into Guild Wars 1 in the last year were reserved for linked Guild Wars 2 accounts. It was made clear that these names would be reserved for one day after launch, and would be released the next day if unclaimed. A couple of months into the game, and these names are still not released for us to use. Does anyone know when/if they will ever be released? I’ve been saving a character slot especially for this eventuality.

Join a pick up group or find some friends to go in with you—although you get leveled up to 80, you’re really supposed to fight him in a group of five.

Add me to the list of those who totally would have bought skins for a reasonable amount of gems, but who won’t buy keys or buy gems to transfer into gold to buy them off of the trading post (too rich for my blood).

I love this game but one of the things I’m the most sad about is that there are some items that are literally unobtainable for me, as a casual player and mother of five. I will never have a legendary anything, and I will never have some of these Halloween items. I do think that everything in this game should be obtainable for a regular person, maybe not easily obtainable but obtainable.

I am however grateful for the horns, the book, and the witches outfit which I think is super fun. See, I do support Anet…I’d support them even more if they’d put the weapon skins up for sale.

Costumes you paid for won’t go away.

Oh, I kind of like that! Poppers and colorful streamers both. Sure, it could glow, or leave footprints, but I think for weapons that can be used as offhands they left off the footprints to avoid clashing with the main hands.

Someone posted in the GuildWiki two days ago that the ingredients for Foefire’s Essence are: 1 Eldritch Scroll, 1 Gift of Light, 70 Mystic Coin, 250 Orichalum Greatsword Blade.

If this has already been posted above, I apologize—I have not read through this entire thread. Also, I have not tried it myself so if it does not work please do not fault me. I am just passing on what others have said, in the hopes that it is helpful.

Congratulations on such a momentous accomplishment! I am sorry you are not happy with the special effects. Maybe they will tweak them later.

Any recipes you acquire and scribe are now account bound and not only that character but all of the other ones should know them. Also, you get some recipes automatically upon acquiring any profession, so you should have those at least. The fact that you have zero means that, as fellyn said, maybe you have something incorrectly selected? If not, it’s definitely a bug.

I saw a “Projected Profit” on the screen last time I sold an item. Maybe that’s a recent change?

From the picture, though, it’s supposed to be account bound…but he’s saying he cannot use it. It may be a bug from when they switched some items from soulbound to account bound. I would submit it.

I would like to clarify…if you rise in level, then come back to those lower level mobs, they won’t level up with you, BUT you will be modified in level down to the area you are in. Usually, you will be one to two levels above the mobs you are fighting, in any lower level area. You will still have a slight advantage.

I believe what has happened is that there was an event in that area that was failed, and as a result, the petals were destroyed. Do not despair—give it some time and they will grow again!

Try the wiki or guildhead. Guildhead is my favorite for crafting but neither site is perfect or complete.

That sounds like a bug, definitely. I would submit it and see what they can do. You are supposed to be able to choose with each character.

I love Zojja’s skin color, but I can’t seem to find it. The lighter browns are too gray, not warm and creamy like Zojja’s skin color. The “creams” that we are given are too light and pasty. I would love a whole spectrum of warmer browns, actually.

Is Zojja’s skin color available? If so, what is it? Thanks!
