I can’t get more tokens on alts anymore? Why? Was this really a change people demanded? I don’t mind the gold reward being once a day/path since their are other ways to get gold, but the tokens can only be gotten from these dungeons, and I feel they didn’t give enough tokens to begin with. (The cheapest piece of exotic equipment from a dungeon vendor is 180 tokens, meaning you have to run a dungeon 3 times at least to get it.)

They should either increase the token reward at the end of the path(s), or remove this diminished return. Diminishing returns on anything is just bad.

So..warrior and thief can solo it. I think as long as you can keep your endurance up, you’ll be fine on any class, but I’m curious what classes people use to solo this champion, or if it can be done on any class. (Except Ranger, probably.)

I didn’t go mostly melee because it’ll still charge at you point blank, and with it being nearly instant compared to the lower ranked abominations, I just couldn’t dodge it well. It was safer to keep a little distance between it and me, and run in quick and get some melee when I knew I could slip behind it without getting hit.

I know. :/

But it was something I wanted to try and see if I could do it, and I feel a little accomplished by doing so. Plus, it opens the Plinx chain back up, which is a fun event chain to do, except barely anyone runs it where I am.

I’ve nearly soloed it before a few times, but:

1) Others jump in early on and force me to reset the fight by giving it too much frenzy.

2) Someone notices and comes by when it’s nearly dead and helps finish it off. Thus making it a sorta-kinda-but-not-quite-solo. This is the first time I managed without either happening.

No. Low level champion mobs are not a good example, a decent down-leveled player can take one down if they know what to do.

Orr already has a champion that sicks veterans on you, that Champion Risen Spider. Do you enjoy fighting a swarm of veterans that give no loot or experience? I don’t.

Veteran Risen Acolytes summon thralls and Plague Carriers to slaughter you (the latter of which cannot be seen occasionally, depending on the event they’re in).

In addition to that, what if a group of players fail, and then others come along later? Do the extra enemies stay for them too? Do they scale it even higher?

I understand what this is about, but after seeing how the scaling screws things up more often than not, I’d rather wait and see how it goes at first before adding anything to make them harder than they already are.

Lots more feedback, yay.

To Celebratty: Yes, it’s our core mechanic, like the warrior’s adrenaline/bursts, the thief’s steal, and so on. The difference is that they have far better control over their core mechanics, and they’re never actively put at a disadvantage in certain situations for using them, unless they use them wrong.

Examples:

1) Jade Maw. It targets your pet with the laser? Too bad, you don’t get to damage it. I think it still targeted them even when they were down.

2) Subject Alpha. This come down to stacking on it and being lucky. If you’re lucky, the pet is excluded from the AoE targeting, and you’re fine. If not, it’s down the entire fight.
This could arguably apply to any boss that uses AoE attacks often.

3) Champion Risen Abominations. I refer to the champion variant, since the normal and veteran ones can usually be taken down before they build enough frenzy to be a problem. Taking a Ranger to any fight against any of these things is unwise. You have to keep your distance even further than other classes, because even if you dodge, your pet won’t. Even calling it back doesn’t help with the reach of the abomination’s attacks now. Your pet is just a frenzy builder for them.

Really, against champions in general, pets don’t really help much, unless you trait into Beastmaster so they’ll survive long enough for you to keep switching them in and out.
And like AydenStar said, pets aren’t really all that useful in WvW, or from my experiences of trying.

Sorry about all these walls of text. :<

Aww. Sorry for rehashing an old point. I was kinda doing that already, but I also wanted to give an alternative to having the pet out but at the same time be able to use their strengths/abilities to help us, and to give a reason to actually have more pets and variety. To still use our connection to nature’s power.

The only alternative I see is improving the A.I. To make pets be able to handle themselves without us micromanaging them in the middle of a fight, but that seems like it would require more work on the programmers’ part, and I’m not sure that’s a priority right now when they allegedly have 4 teams just for Living Story content. What about people to fix the bugs? What about people who read our suggestions and can give their feedback and maybe even put those ideas into the game? It saddens me somewhat.

Well, my ranger remains for open roaming at least.

“I believe one of the main issues is that all you are doing is looking at it from a reward point of view rather than a story point of view.”

What do you mean by that? So far the story is these 2 competing for the Captain’s Council seat. They claim it’ll affect the story later, but they could just be saying that.

The only other story bit will be from whichever fractal we get, since those cover past events. The rewards seem to be the main thing swaying people right now, or so my perceptions of the forums tell me.

The strangest thing I found was an Ellen Kiel Representative Button (I wasn’t even aware these could drop, and none others ever dropped again for me) from…

A Flame Legion soldier.

Awesome. Please go back and question him, I must know the backstory.

On a similar note, I find it hilarious what any mobs drop; I come from games where different types of enemies have different loot tables (i.e., a rat can drop a ring but not a platemail – platemails are what you find inside dragon bellies).

So I have made it a habit to imagine the enemy was wearing the thing they dropped, and it’s wonderful: from centaurs falling over their plate-mail boots, to spiders with eight tiny pirate gloves, to mosquitos wearing silly hats… GW2 became much more fun the day that started.

But that soldier’s dead now, so we’ll never know. Unless they come back like we do all the time. And yes, imagining the monsters actually holding the things they drop is more amusing.

I don’t care who wins. They both have things that are potentially interesting but..

Waypoint costs don’t really bother me much.

I don’t like the keys.

I almost never play Fractals.

Which is sad, since both fractal choices sound interesting to me, at least for more lore, if nothing else. It’s one thing to know what happened (Abaddon’s fall, the reactor’s meltdown, etc.) and another to actually see it happen.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in seeing a fight between the gods. But after how they handled Zhaitan, I’m worried that they won’t meet peoples expectations for this. Do you realize how hyped people will get for this? If this ends up winning, they better not mess it up. It’s a fight between the gods. I’d want to see that done well.

The Thaumanova (yes it’s actually spelled like that) Reactor interests me too, since I like asura stuff, and some say the whole chaos rift stuff might give us new knowledge about the dragons..somehow. But again, I’m worried that it could just become a rehash of the Crucible of Eternity, like some say it will. So I’m on the fence there too.

The rewards for completing the acheivements for both sides are minis of the candidates. I got the Kiel mini, just to see for myself in case people were trolling, and then I just stopped. I was going to do both, but..it was just tedious the first time around. More minis I’ll just put away and never use? No thanks. (Although, Kiel’s mini quoting her lines was a neat little thing. Hopefully Evon’s mini does that too. Or maybe they all do and I never noticed. Meh.)

I didn’t like the Candidate Trials. The only thing I wanted were the Aetherblade skins of a few weapons, and after slogging through all that, trying to get gold on Tier 1, trying to beat higher tiers and failing miserably, getting mostly broken lockpicks and some heavy booty bags, I finally gave in and just bought the skin that I wanted the most, just so I’d have one.

I don’t like Aspect Arena or Southsun Survival. Enough said.

I don’t like having to do events in Ascalon or Kryta. I just don’t like Ascalon or Kryta.

Sorry Kiel, but I don’t care. Your mini’s kinda neat, but it’ll just get deposited and stay there.

Sorry Gnashblade, but I’ve got Mini Rytlock. The only charr mini I might want right now is one of General Almorra Soulkeeper.

And they don’t have one. I feel a bit down now.

Too long, didn’t read? Read the title.

Bear in mind that Zhaitan rose over 100 years ago in-game, and Primordus rose over 200 years ago. These guys have been around for quite some time, so devouring the world obviously takes a while.

And…the world still held parties during this time.

I thought it was Zhaitan who rose first. From what I understand, Primordus was the last of the elder dragons to awaken, due to the events which forestalled its awakening in GW:EN.

Otherwise, why does Zhaitan have such a large foothold in Tyria, while primordus has nothing more than a few isolated groups of destroyers? Don’t get me wrong, destroyers are almost as numerous as risen, but Primordus has nothing compared to Orr.

No. Primordus woke up first. While I am uncertain of the order for the rest,(I think Kralkatorrik was the last to wake up, right before going to kill Glint) Primordus was definitely the first to rise. Its name even means “first to rise” or something along that meaning.

Here’s a thought. Allow us to stow the pet, and give us extra skills to replace the ones in the pet interface while the pets are stowed. The skills you get could differ depending on what pets you have stowed, but you could get 1 or 2 skills from each pet.

Example: The Reef Drake. Stowing it could give you a Confusing Screech skill to screech in a cone in front of you, like its own pet skill. You could also get a spin move to inflict weakness on enemies around you, like its tail spin. Stowing it could also give stat boosts based on the pet’s strengths. Stowing a pet that has toughness and vitality as its strong stats could give you boosts to your toughness and vitality. I’d like some feedback, because I think this idea has potential. Please.

Sorry about the blobs of text.

The title’s self explanatory. I know, it’s our gimmick and all, but there are times when having a pet out doesn’t help you any during fights, or makes things worse. So, can we please have the option to put the pet away, and maybe get a boost to our own stats while the pet’s stowed? Or even have a skill(s) that forces the pet to be stowed but gives us more skills/options?

Sorry if this has come up before.

This one is from a while back, and I forgot about it for a while, so it may be fixed. But maybe not. I once managed to hold off the dredge invading the Junction Haven in the far east Gendarran Fields, and a Champion Dredge Raidmaster appeared for me to fight.
I’m suspecting this was another veteran stealth buffed to champion level, cause this event didn’t show as a group event. I did beat it, but it was tedious because of all the health.

Seriously, are they doing anything about that? I’m starting to think the dragons may have learned from the last time that eating everything completely wasn’t a good idea, and are just consuming in moderation…but that’d be giving them too much credit.

Or maybe they got bored and just send up their minions for amusement. Maybe they found “nirvana” or whatever and decided they didn’t need to eat everything to be happy.

Ok, in all seriousness, I am wondering when we’re actually going to do something about that, because it’s like the world has forgotten they’re still out there. Or do the dragons have to attack Lion’s Arch before anyone notices? Sigh.
