A lot, actually. Much more than a support that can’t do ANYTHING by itself besides stay alive. Zero offensive pressure.

I swap to my thief when I’m solo queueing because it helps win games, I think thief is the best solo queue class for “carrying”.

In reality though nothing you pick is going to matter because it’s 5v5 and all that matters is your teammates. Ele is still by far the worst possible pick for trying to “carry” games with bad teammates, though. It’s very frustrating and not fun.

How is the ability to effectively lock down a point so that the enemy team is going to need multiple players to get you off it and your team technically only has to cap and hold one more point bad for carrying? Of course, real scenarios aren’t even close to being as simple as that, but ele is really good for carrying imo.

Also, Ele has always been anet’s child imo

You could, but it’s not exactly recommended as condi is, sadly, superior in every way. Pugs most likely wouldn’t even touch you with a 10-foot-pole as long as you run power.

You should get roughly 100 additional shards per week if you turn in all the minis and salvage all the ascended junk the raids throw at you.

This might be the case for you and that’s good and all, but no, this isn’t the case for everyone, or at least me. I haven’t seen minis or even asc gear from raids in weeks, the last thing I had was a weapon chest from matthias I got about two months ago.

First.. “where I belong” is in matches that are set with fair sides.

And hopefully you’ll find those matches in amber.

From what I can see, and you’re probably at the absolute bottom of the barrel in terms of player skill for your pip range right now. You grinded the system too hard, and most players of your skill level aren’t in this pip range, as they probably have not grinded quite as hard. This is why no matter how hard the matchmaker attempts to put you in an “even” match, you’re always going to be the weak link on your team because there aren’t any other players of at or lower than your relatively low skill level in that pip range currently to put on the opposing team. Hence, you’re going to lose the match.

The reason you might feel the system is “stacked against you” is because regardless of which team the matchmaking puts you on, its always going to be the weaker team because of, not in spite of, you.

If anything, this is not an issue with matchmaking, but an issue with how the lower divisions of the leagues were designed, to allow to anyone to simply grind up to ruby regardless of skill level, and then when they get to ruby, (or in this case, sapphire,) they just get chewed up over and over, because they can’t compete with the average players at that level.

I agree with you on everything. There should be no safety net on anything even on division crossing. They can easily implement a system that makes you start at 5 pip in each division you cross which will allow you a safety of 5 game lost before you drop back down.

I also agree with Ithilwen.1529 that the wings should be for everyone. I understand the elitist and top tier players claim the wings should not be for everyone but honestly GW2 is casual and will always be casual. If a player is willing to play 300 games, he deserves that backpack no matter which division he is in. PvP is PvP.

tl:dr – Remove division crossing achievement and safety nets

I mean of course the whole thing failed its point in s1 already and always will as long as we have all those division/tier/pip safety nets and achievements that basically boil down to grind (and is, in all honesty, attainable by everyone due to this) but yeah…

11 shards per both so 99 for all 3 wings if anything. there is no need to give even more shards per week since you gain plenty from spare loot.

The last drop I was able to turn into shards has been some time ago, RNG is RNG. I’m aware that they’re just supposed to be a “fallback-currency” but as has been mentioned, this is not working properly…

Well, I never played an online game that promised a particular reward then made players wait a year for them.

Pretty disorganized overall and shows what level of resources are going to raids.

I know some of you like to make excuses for Anet, but stuff like this is not acceptable. Raids were obviously not ready or fully fleshed out. It shouldn’t take a year to bring this entire raid. There are other game companies knocking out more content and faster, yet here it’s 1 little piece at a time. It’s very clear raids were pushed out the door to have it as a selling feature.

Pacing/releasing content was always a weak point for ANet in GW2, we had so many droughts by now it’s ridiculous.
The worst thing is that we still don’t know how the armor will look like.

It’s clear that legendary armor will be utterly disappointing in every way possible, which is why they don’t tell us until after wing 3 is out so that we keep grinding. /s

Honestly though, getting some info on looks and whatnot would be great because we’re basically working for something we don’t know about still, even though it’s just weekly raid clears for the most part.

Now, you say you can level a full mastery track just doing the raid, ok fair counter point, so, I guess the question now is, is it really feasible to gain the 13 million Exp doing just the raid?

Yes it is. Get the mastery points, then go raiding like you always do and you’ll have it done by the time the wing is released and probably some more masteries.

You get something. Not ascended but those percentages get added to actually valuable loot instead of worthless rings or single stack potions.

The only ones to decide that are the devs working on that and if they decide removing the “bad” drops and adding their droprates to the “nothing”-droprate, then it won’t make any difference whatsoever and to be honest, I really doubt they’d further increase the droprates of the good loot as they are pretty good already.

I only have one question in regards to this change. Why not require every member of the raid group to have at least 2 legendary weapons to progress instead of just ley line gliding?

Also, everyone who’s raiding should have finished masteries by now, if you didn’t, stop being a lazy and get some mastery points, doesn’t even take long… You want to play endgame, so prepare yourself for endgame. ANet is being extremely generous by not adding a gear treadmill to the game, because that would be much worse.

Try to ditch ranged weaponry on a power-based build in favor of Dagger/Focus and Greatsword (maybe Warhorn offhand instead of Focus if you prefer that, but I value the raw damage and “burstier” LF-generation on Focus over yet another CC on warhorn)

As Reaper, you are very sustainable anyway and learning to stick in melee all the time is going to help you a lot.

because I asked at an old 50 mai trin why the guardian didn’t bring WoR (wasn’t even insulting). There’s people who don’t take that kind of kitten well for whatever reasons.

Maybe because WoR is useless at Mai Trin? The spin can’t be reflect and the teleport shot will only teleport the guardain to mai trin if he reflect it. I’m not saying that’s a good reason to kick you, but I can understand if you start talking to them as if they don’t know what to bring to the fight while yourself asking for useless skill.

Well, considering no one was able to block the shots instead and they just… well, ate everything, porting Mai through the room every time… yes, WoR would’ve been more helpful than what the guardian had slotted. It’s also about 2 years ago so meh.
And believe me, they didn’t know what to bring for that (or any) fight since reflects were lacking through the first three fractals too (uncat iirc among others) and their utility choices in general were rather questionable too. w/e though.

Just saying that if scale 100 takes longer than 30min (or anything close to that) certainly not everything is going well.

Besides that, I think the droprates are fine; this is coming from someone who’s getting shafted pretty much every day.
I do think however that they should remove the normal mist potions, only leaving the 5-stack ones in and maybe find a way to make single-use ascended kits stackable.

Wow, those drop rate are pretty low :S no wonder I haven’t been getting ascended box. I don’t really mind as someone with tons of armor and weapon already, but 90% chance to get nothing is very high.

Not really. It really depend on your squad, but you would be surprise how much more dps your group can do by keeping only 1 PS Warrior.

So you would really trust pugs to keep 25 might across the whole squad constantly with one PS war without them having a rev and two mesmers (and two mesmers are pretty worthless in the first place imo)? Even more organized/better groups I’ve seen struggle badly with that.

I tried 1 PS war too and it felt so much worse, otherwise I wouldn’t suggest against it.

Only thing that needs work is the visibility of AoEs etc. during the boss fight imo.
Rest is fine, especially the heat room. I like the fact that you either change up some skills to solo it quickly.
Also, as it stands, the way this fractal is set up allows you to split up and low-man various tasks, leading to a faster clear, or just taking it slow and doing each task as a full group.

If you plan on using a general build (i.e. one armor), go with Berserker runes. Thorns is good in raids, but only there. If you also run fractals, Thorns will be useless in comparison

Also, for fractals I run berserker rune + tuning icycles, just because those 10% duration don’t really matter in there whatsoever. lol

I’m actually really surprised that we haven’t seen any group-wide DPS tests with the new golem test area. I’d think that this would be the perfect way to evaluate different raid comps and to determine whether it’s better to run something like 1 PS war or 2.

It would only be to some degree since you’d still be testing in an environment with no mechanics and whatnot. Of course it would still be better than nothing by far, but as has been said, golems die too fast sadly.

Wait until they actually DO nerf the loot. It makes absolutely no sense to do the T4 dailies and instantly get credit for the first three tiers and get the loot from those too. Imagine if raiders just went in and killed the last boss in the raid, but were instantly given the loot from all the previous bosses. With the way it is, if you do the Dragon’s Stand meta and AFK through the whole thing, until the Mordremoth mouth part, you should get the chests/drops for the entire event chain all the way through from the start (even though you didn’t do them – which is how daily fractal loot is atm).

When Anet figures out it makes no sense…then make a thread.

I know this topic belongs more to revenant subforums than here but I figured out that by posting here I have more chance to get reply from ANET employee or at least someone who has influence at class development.

So wheres the problem with Revenant? EVERYWHERE.

Perhaps the biggest flaw and the only flaw here is the very basic mechanic of this class which went wrong somewhere between brainstorming and actual development.

- People are only playing Shiro and Glint. No other invocations used.

- SWAP weapon is completly unneeded. In fact, its unhealthy and has devestating effects on the class. It was designed with swaping invocations in mind instead of weapons(like elementalist is) but some1 got this dumb idea to implement weapon swap which caused nerfs of other skills.

What we got? Class unable to do anything yet has little of everything. Left hand – right pocket. I mean, who swaps weapons most of the time? nobody. Its inpractical.

Entire class feels like trying to wrtite with both left and right hand the same text at the same time on 2 different papers.

SOLUTION?

Remove weapon swap and get focused on invocation rotation like its meant to be. Balance it like that. Otherwise, it doesnt make any sense.

Make weapons worth. Revamp some skills such as of hammer and make them more playable!

It’s good to see that you actually have no idea about the class.

Rewards are still crap compared to pre-HoT.

Dungeon tours for profit are dead.

5g / 8 = 62 silver per path + 35s first completion plus 26s base gold = 1.23g in raw gold. This is a bit less than the 1.26 we used to get, I give you that.

However now we get 100 tokens per path instead of 60. Tokens have value, and level 70+ dungeon tokens COF+ are worth more than ever before thanks to rising ecto price.

3 level 80 paths = 120 more tokens then before. 120 tokens = 4 rares = 3.2 ecto = 1.35g = kitten per path more than before.

For every dungeon except arah we receive more rewards than before. AC is breaking even.

And that’s just the ecto. Leather which is also stupidly valuable wasn’t put into that equation.

And then there’s other kinds of low-tier materials which you get which are also worth quite a bit.

what do you mean by don’t be an idiot while using it? Well I do lb 5 then 2 then swap to s/a am I doing it right? and about condi build? is it viper armor? Sb and axe/torch?

You are doing the correct LB rotation.
He meant doing things like using LB #4 and auto attacking in melee range.

Basically avoid “typical bearbow behaviour”, such as spamming LB #4 on mobs without a breakbar or standing at max range with your bear in front, not getting any boons whatsoever etc.

Power Necro always brings Blood Magic to dungeons, and thus Vapiric Presence. Now this isn’t great for your “1337 zerk-meta only” runs— which by the way you are automatically excluded from anyways. However, this skill is great for the average pug, adding significant damage and noticible sustain. On top of that, dropping a well of blood when a player is downed is invaluable for the average pug.

Have you brought a power Reaper running Dagger/Focus + Greatsword to dungeons? Damage is fine, and utility is still there. Protection is spammed when needed, vuln stacks are maintained (and yes this can be an issue), and blinds are pulsed often.

Besides, current power creep means you can bring any elite spec and face roll dungeons. And anyone that doesn’t want a Necro with blood magic against Mai Trin or Jade Maw probably doesn’t know what’s up with that siphon…

The problem here is, again, not that necro is incapable of doing anything, but they are not exactly bringing much to a decent party which another class couldn’t do better.
If you balance the game around “the average pug”, then rip balance as the average pug doesn’t know what the dodge key is for and prefers to stay at range with “special snowflake”-builds, which wouldn’t even be that much of a problem (since it’s pugging after all) if those builds at least had decent synergies within themselves/with other partymembers, but more often than not they’re lacking them and are simply wildly thrown together.
Oh and, they fixed most siphon-based “exploits” and while having some bonus sustain is nice to have, it really isn’t a major thing imo.

As a matter of fact, I main a power reaper despite everything and I solo dungeons/fractals with that setup from time to time still, even run it in groups every now and then, but there’s so much better options as it stands.

Non-HoT-Accounts [Merged]

It only effictively locks you out of scales 91-100.

It starts being a problem once you pass into required AR level above 100 (at above fractal level 70). Remember, that you’d be short on not only 28 points from using 5 ar infusions instead of 7 ar ones, but will also lack the two attuned slots.
And since after the last change doing only t3 dailies results in a significant nerf to the rewards, it seriously compounds he other problem mentioned.

Yes, you can compensate by crafting/buying better infusions, but even for fractal level 90 you’d need +20 ones. To reach 150 ar you’d need a 27, 27, 26 setup.
I don’t think i need to explain why this isn’t a practical option.

Uhm, sorry?

You are aware that you can dodge ALL agony inflicting attacks except those when entering boss rooms?
You can run with 0AR and be fine if you and your team make sure the agony doesn’t get inflicted in the first place. This is how it was back then too, starting at a certain scale no one was able to have the AR required either.

You wouldn’t really take a power necro into dungeons in the first place due to rather bad mobility and still low damage + basically no utility only a nec can bring. Might as well get another class which can do something special. For fracs it’s the same.
I mean sure, you can run a power necro there, just like you can run one in raids and still clear just fine, doesn’t mean it needs no buffs because it surely does; not even that much dps-wise, but in terms of “what makes a power necro actually desireable over other classes?”, a.k.a. good buffs only a necro can bring (rip the +150 Ferocity buff dream)

OP, you bought the game for over a years and probably had hundreds if not thousands of game time in GW2. That money was well spent imo, also you can still play the same game contents as it was before HoT release.

Fractal mastery did not add new rewards to HoT accounts. It was used to lock out the normal reward level, while core accounts had their rewards reduced. Significantly.

Also, contrary to what you might think, the change did not add additional 50 levels on top of old ones. Rather, it had split the previous 50 levels into 100 (current level 100 is not really more difficult than original level 50. In many ways, the difficulty is actually lower). AR however locks out large part of those levels from any player that doesn’t have access to the second island vendor.

The problem is not that there’s new content that requires HoT to play. It is that parts of old, core content were put behind HoT gate.

It only effictively locks you out of scales 91-100.
As for the other parts yeah, it’s kind of a bad move that they ended up doing it like this.

Are your argumentative positions that weak that the best you can do is create strawmen to defeat?

I’d still like to know if there is somewhere a post by an anet dev saying that there definitely never will be legendary armor which can be acquired in a different way than raids and why you think raids are excluding by default.

He can technically play up to scale 90 with you, even if he lacks the AR. Just means he’s gotta get his dodges down or he gets destroyed by AR. 91+ however… well, social awkwardness is going to do what it is supposed to.

Just dont use that stupid longbow on dungeons/fractals and everyone will be happy.

You do use longbow on swap though, just don’t be an idiot while using it lol
