of a vanquished opponent.
@Tachii.3506 Let me convince you to take take Sundering Strikes and Dagger Training.
We know sundering strikes adds a nice boost to DPS esp on trash mobs where you can apply it on multiple targets.
Mug I would suggest away from because in PvE it’s a small boost of DPS and a small boost for survival on a medium cooldown. You don’t need the survival boost and the dps boost is smaller than what Dagger Training provides.
Vs
Dagger Training. When fighting bosses you will be in my D/D. The 5% damage buff for the duration of the boss fight would enable you to deal more damage than triggering mug on cooldown.
Just my thoughts. I also use SoM so maintaining the Scholar Rune damage boost is very easy. – Cheers!
Norn – Great Lodge
The nodes are about as far away from the entrance as possible on the ground level.
The Engineer Build I was mentioning earlier that would be an exception to Auesis’s statement about sharing the burden of vulnerability stacking. This lone soldier will do it all by himself. This is what I had in mind in the above post I made in bold.
Engineer Discussion starts at 26:05
http://www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt/b/486704366
It is rare you will party with an engineer esp one designed to fill this role, however I find it worth mentioning.
On Swap Sigil – Cooldown listed on Wiki
Battle – The sigil has an internal 10 second cooldown.
Doom – A 10 second internal cooldown for swap.
Energy – Cooldown: 9 seconds
Geomancy – Cooldown: 9 seconds
Hydromancy – Cooldown: 9 seconds
Intelligence – None Listed
Leeching – internal cooldown of 9 seconds
Renewal – None listed (Mentioned in discussion tab there is no cooldown)
It might be a one stop for daily gatherer though. Lo.
Not quite.
These three nodes, plus the Quartz Crystal Node and Candy Corn Node (if you have them) is five nodes. You mine them three times each. Each mining hit is 5% towards the achievement. At most you get 75%.
Just a note that you can get bonus strikes on nodes from Power of the Mists
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Power_of_the_Mists
Gatherer: 1-20% chance of additional gathering node uses.
They needed to take it down based on a previous stance they had on Cultural Armors.
As I understand it, …
…A long time ago some players found out how to transfer cultural armor to different races. Anet was so against this that they did account rollbacks to revert the changes. Now that Anet has made their stance on cultural armor only being available to a particular race I would think they will continue to keep it exclusive.
Selling Dungeons Paths – (Working as Intended)
You’re better off with Corrosive Traps (5stacks/trap @ 8s-10s) than taking Sundering Strikes (50% on crit = 1 stack @ 6s-8s) — that’s how horrible it is.
I consider this post to be of no value based on the accepted view that thief traps are a waste of a utility slot. I have seen two traps used in PvE
1. Ambush Trap for DPS (Better options are available)
2. Shadow Trap for Solo bomb running in the Dredge Fractal
I would advise the OP to not consider corrosive traps.
When I am in PvE I have 100% Crit Chance and the Vulnerability from this trait far surpasses Corrosive Traps in terms of group utility.
In case you were curious about the skale Venom
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skale_Venom_
There is a quest chain you have to do to unlock the merchant but it’s short and worth it.

Yes!-
Since the change I have slotted sundering strikes for all my dungeon runs.
If you have an engineer he will be better able to stack up vulnerability, but most of the time I don’t have an engineer in my group stacking vuln.
I would suggest using it. I have even gotten compliments from a warrior in my group who asked
Q: Where are the extra vulnerability stacks coming from.
A: Sundering Strikes + Skale Venom
Skipping – (Working as intended)
Stacking- (Working as intended)
I don’t think you can remove skipping mobs completely without allowing mobs to see invisible units. Also Anet has stated that skipping is ok. I am surprised we don’t have a sticky on the topic yet. (Although I do hear there is very little Dev Activity in this forum)

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magitech_Medium_Armor_Skinone of the less sucky, still it sucks
Looking to offer feedback, however without you mentioning what kind of look or theme you are wanting I will be unable to do so. You say that armor “sucks” could you elaborate on what particular parts of it’s design you dislike? If not then there is nothing left to discuss because of a lack of your feedback. If so I will continue to see if there is a look you have missed or didn’t know about. Cheers!
Edit: Medium Armors are less attractive in general I believe due to player preference. Anet stated there will probably not be any new Charr armors because not enough of the playerbase plays charrs. I will assume they use a similar view when designing armors for types (Light Medium Heavy). From previous class popularity charts you can see there is a stronger preference for Heavy Armor / Light Armor classes over Medium classes. So in conclusion I think that there is less time / energy put forth on medium armors.

Something to think about,
If you are able to force them away from the treb and you see a portal dropped or you see a thief look like he just popped a squat then you can use that to your advantage.
A. Vs Mesmer portal He has to drop it before he leaves in order to get back. You can wait out the time on thise and when it expires then finish off the treb.
B. Vs Thief try to keep an eye on them. They have the option of going stealth then dropping it but if you follow them you can most likely trigger the trap and ruin their teleport.
For Clarity
Auto attacks are sustained damage because you can continually do them without stopping. To phrase it another way you can use auto attacks for an extended period of time without interruption. While an auto attack may may not be the best damage, by definition auto attacks are sustained damage.
I second what SandraSolace.7682 says. This is the most common reason for being unable to exchange gems.
ArenaNet set the initial exchange rate for gems to gold when the servers first open for headstart, but after that the rate fluctuated based on supply and demand of the players using the Currency Exchange. The gems and gold players get from the Currency Exchange are supplied by other players, not ArenaNet. As supply of gems goes up, the price will go down and vice versa.
Google found this for me here

This is the best thing I can think of for you.
GW2 PvE Motto : The Best Defense is a Good Offense
Also keep it mind it could be this trait
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Improvisation
“Stealing recharges all skills of one type (venoms, signets, traps, tricks, or deceptions). Deal bonus damage when wielding a bundle”
This is the only thing I could think of to allow back to back usage of utility skills on thief.
S/P can be used to spike Interceptor.2653 I have seen google.#### play a S/P Spike build in a tournament with signets. Pre-casting PW then blinking to the target for the flurry. I watched him instantly bursting I believe Five Gauge (was definitely an engineer he was bursting) several times in the match. I will post the video if I find it. It was the one where they accused him of cheating and made him take a picture of his mouse and keyboard to send to them. It was shoutcasted by Blu if anyone has a video of that pls post so we can educate Interceptor on one of the more gimmicky S/P specs.
(edited by OIIIIIO.7825)
Is portal repairing the treb on Kyhlo too strong?
No other class can do it
A big one you are missing is being able to double down targets. You will want to always keep an eye out for anyone who gets downed and isn’t in an absolute chicken cluck of AoE’s. You should be there in their last moments to show them your finisher before sending them back to spawn.
TL:DR
Don’t forget stealth stomps

I know many are perfectly content with the whole “equip full berserker, stack, buff, reflect, and chain rez or rally from downed state until mobs die” thing, but that gets old. Unfortunately most people and groups expect this type of play now.
This is called learning and I am proud that this is now being expected. I think this is the evolution of players getting better and demanding better of others around them so that everyone improves.
It would be great to see some mechanics that amplify mob outgoing damage based on closer proximity, even with trash mob fights. This would require some people to actually fight at range.
Wait what!? you want people to fight at range? You know you deal less damage at ranged. I am starting to think you just want content to take longer.
Some of the most fun I’ve had in game were during difficult fights that required dodging and awareness. Now, nearly everything is trivialized by stacking.
That’s because it’s faster and safer. Another comment that seems like you want content to take longer.
I believe it’s nursing a complacent, less-skilled player base. Stacking and LoSing aren’t what dungeons should be about.
I think the exact opposite is happening. Players are getting so skilled to the point of having dungeons simplified to their basics and treat them as simple content that is completed quickly. Possibly they are becoming idiot savants but still they excel in at least some aspect of the game and they can take joy in that.
…Obviously ads like this have been around for awhile, but I still get disgusted by them. Unfortunately the current standard of dungeon combat does nothing except to promote ads like this.
This sounds like a group of players who have expectations on their allies and if you don’t want to measure up to another player you are always welcome to form your own group and place stipulations or not.
Also I know you were probably in a heated emotional state when posting this, but please when posting on the forums try using the search for other topics that may have been recently posted. I have seen this same feeling towards dungeons as you have stated many many times before. You will find more than enough opinions of those who agree and don’t agree. Previous there have been Red posts where they suggested forming a guild of like minded players to run dungeons in a specific way. I would suggest for specifying how you want to run the dungeon in a lfg post and go with others who want to do it the same way. Best of luck!
If I spec my guardian to zerker build 15/15/0/20/10 (and other 10 pts undecided) can I keep my soldier runes on them and still qualify for zerker?
In my opinion no. When I hear someone say they are Zerker this is what I envision
Armor=Beserker
Runes= Scholar , Ruby orbs if poor
Trinkets= Beserker+Beserker
Weapons=Beserker
I do fractals a lot and also do many dungeon dailies and would love to get into those fast runs groups but if I ping my primarily 90% zerker gear but have soldier runes on them will they just kick me or would I not be considered zerker?
thanks
I think you are overestimating your Zerker-ness. You mention being in 90% zerker
6 armor slots
6 accessories etc
2 weapons
= 14 slots for zerker gear
14 – 3 (knight’s armor slots)high 70% and then the non zerker runes.
Well I hope that helps answer your questions
I agree the Ivan Drago Quote is my Favorite!

Full DPS thief in fractals… am I an idiot?
No
So, I’ve started doing fractals recently using my 25/30/0/0/15 full zerker gear thief… am I trying something unreasonable?
Yes/No, you are trying to do a high risk/reward setup without the proper skill. Once you learn the encounters like the back of your hand it will prove to be the optimal setup.
I figured with all the evades and short CD on healing skills it wouldn’t be so bad, but I keep dying no matter what I do. Often I find myself out of endurance and initiative with all my evades and heal skills on CD. I swap weapons and skills out depending on the occasion, but it doesn’t seem to help.
So far I’ve gotten up to fractals level 19, should I change my build or do I just suck?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Your build looks standard from what I can tell. You do not need to change it unless you want a crutch to help you learn fractals.
Crutches I would suggest to get started
1.— Take 15 points from Trickery and put them into Acrobatics for more dodges
2.— Using Foods
—http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bowl_of_Orrian_Truffle_and_Meat_Stew
—http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Food#Life_steal
—http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bowl_of_Fire_Salsa (Just Kidding)
3.—The best thing you can do is just practice/ run fractals until you have them fully understood. I would also suggest watching videos of other thieves doing fractals.
Last and possibly least here is an older video that still has some good Thief tactics and general plays you can make to help out on runs.

well what’d you expect? Just don’t bring mesmer to CoF and you won’t have to deal with this. Warriors and eles have much better DPS anyways.
And Thieves
DPS

Thief
Warrior/ Ranger
The one I am talking about doesn’t reset with the daily but have a different method for resetting. I think it’s 24 hours from the last time you looted the puzzle with that character but I am not certain as I casually farm JP’s on my alts. I just log in loot/sell and log out.
That’s! Right! you’re not an Ele
You’re a Wizard!
(Rumor has it math wizards can detect low dps specs and stay away from them)
@ Ralron.8124 it’s not free gold you’re working for it & Thanks for farming it for me <3
I will second what Casmurro.9046 linked. This is a guide from Dkeys (2 chaos) who is a very experienced dungeon farmer. She also has other guides I would suggest watching if you were interested in playing Lightning Hammer or Staff Ele if your group already has a lightning hammer Ele.

(Narrated by DeKeys) Staff – http://youtu.be/dPV1xdOqjy8
The best place for me is in Lions Arch.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Weyandt%27s_Revenge
Make sure your character is min level 21 and max level 28 I think?
The way it works is you get loot from the chest which scales with character level and if you are over a certain level you don’t get silver you get the gold or platinum ones. Best of luck Mate!
I use Shadow Trap when I am crafting in Lions arch
1. Use it at the crafting station
2. Run to BLTC to get purchased items
3. Run to the side and make sure the chairs inside are not in your path back to the merchant.
4. Activate skill again to return
5. back to your crafting station and crafting.
Wizard!, erhmm I mean Ele!
Da Sonic seems to offer the most legit way to do it.
CoE is one of the most thief friendly dungeons <3 it.
Great Job Auesis! I always enjoy watching you solo. GZ!
Throw it on a downed body.
Thank You for the info!
If you play on a server with low WvW participation you can basically have this for a couple loading screens.
1. Load in to WvW to use merchants.
2. Go to character select and log back in.
(GW doesn’t allow you to log in to WvW so it takes you to where you were right before entering)
This has been an amazing trick for me thus far.
I would like to know as well. If anyone has tried let the community know
Thief main who does this event often.
I always melee in full beserker everything + Scholar Runes
(25-30-0-0-15, D/D or S/P if I need a burst heal from SoM)
Wait for the floor to light up and dodge / double dodge to a safe area and melee while healing up. I think this event promotes all classes being in melee and using proper dodges to avoid going down to the electricity.
Melee More DPS
Safer from Boss Attacks (Can’t hit you with anything other than the floor. {Electricity, or knockback combo})
(edited by OIIIIIO.7825)
Leonsky.3156 That is an amazing Idea and I love it!
This would help so much. I like to teach newer players dungeons and get them started on the concepts of speed running. This could be amazing for increasing the skill of the players in this game because we would have a sandbox / test area to perfect Dps and combos <3
For an epic experience that changes and forces new tactics try out Fractal of the Mists. You can access it from Lions Arch and it will scale your level to 80 if needed. Once you get to level 31 you get new instabilities they change how you play the game. I think this could be the old epic experience you are looking for GL
it would seem to me that fighting them instead of just fleeing, takes a lot less time and slightly more effort
It takes more time to fight the mobs than to run past them.
Try it vs any mob.
a. Time yourself killing it
b. Time yourself running past it
Now Compare the two times, and it should be easy to see which takes less time.
Personally I like to complete dungeons as fast as possible because the rewards don’t scale based on time spent in the dungeon. Hope this helps
Do you understand why stacking is so common?
-spend less time in the dungeon and get the same rewards
or as I like to call it a “Win/Win”
I would like to be able to fully utilize the trait improv w/o relying on another class in pvp.
