I’m wondering what happens when a player is taunted, feared and out of stun breaks at the same time. Do they run around like a chicken with their head cut off?
Taunt will break Fear, similarly as to how Stuns, Knockdowns, Dazes, etc, will overwrite Fear now.
Ah ok. Would’ve been hilarious to see though XD
I’m wondering what happens when a player is taunted, feared and out of stun breaks at the same time. Do they run around like a chicken with their head cut off?
Now apply the same mechanic to fractals, give skins for relics and ruin it just like every other dungeon. I understand that people quit doing fractals because they didn’t get the skin they wanted, but i have to ask, once you get your skin for relics wouldn’t you quit anyway? How is it different if you run 100 fractals, get the desired skin and quit or if you run 100 fractals, end up with a few skins you didn’t want and quit because you were disappointed? Bottom line is, you’ve stopped doing fractals…
To answer your question. If the rewards weren’t terrible I wouldn’t have quit to begin with. I still currently run teq everyday for over a year now because the karma and 2g is worth it. To this day i still dont have teq hoard.. as is the nature of my account with rng only skins. And after around 400 or more runs its kinda pathetic i still don’t have it. But you get my point.
(edited by OMNIBUS.2913)
I’m also looking for the answer to this. For investment purposes, :] and I wana buy a new dye before the price spikes.
I know i’m just one example, but I’m a player who quit running fractals for good. I have full ascended with about 90 agony resistance and Lvl 50 which i got soon after fractured came out(also was 50 and running 48 almost daily before the patch reset me). I ran countless fractals trying to get the greatsword, and ended up with about 9-10 weaps total(considering how many fractals i ran luck was not on my side at all). 2 of them being staff and 3 of them being warhorn, never got the greatsword. I got all the rings I could ever want, most are now vendored to make space. I can run a few dungeons in the same time it takes one full fractal run and make triple or quadruple what i would make doing fractals. It created a new hatred in me for gambling and i avoid it at all costs for my own sanity. The only way i will ever return to fractals is if they change the rewards. Otherwise i hope fractals does die because of like minded people. Then maybe anet will see what pure rng does to some of its playerbase(the unlucky ones are driven away). And then finally change the rewards :] . On a good note, since i quit fractals I’ve made 2 legendaries and saving for a third! And seeing the fractal mastery gives me a little hope but I don’t know enough about it yet.
Also you can get a ton of karma from teq, no need to run fractals for anything except the weapons or tonic which are pure rng. Everything else can be acquired better elsewhere imo. I would rather craft ascended than rng for it. So by all means up the rewards :]

Examples of the Mist aura working and not working after leaving a cluttered area(too many npc, players, particles or mix of the 3 will bug it). If you stow your weap and re-equip it will come back. Still a disappointing bug imo.
Ya also heard that bug is going on with frost-fang to thanks for the photos
I keep hearing it happens to all legendary’s with auras right now. You can see in my second photo the missing ice arm affect for frostfang.
Missing aura is not a bug, thats how LOD option work, it reduce particle effects when there is to many stuff on screen. Aura from howler, bifrost, fire effect on arm from incinerator or ice from frostfang.
The bug is that you leave a high particle or crowded area of players and the aura still remains missing until u stow weap. Even when LOD is not necessary the aura will still be missing. Also, it never used to disappear when i first got howler. It started disappearing later on after a season 2 patch, don’t remember which one though.

I’ve said it in other threads but just thought i’d mention here that legendary auras are still currently bugged, even after the most recent patch. Whenever you enter a crowd of people, npcs or areas with multiple particle effects the aura will disappear. Or at least howler’s mist aura is bugged for sure(witnessed today). This is in addition to all the other bugs(moon and sparkles missing at night). Considering that howler’s aura is the most prominent affect it has, this legendary is in a pretty sad state. I’d go as far to say its the most underwhelming legendary right now because of all the bugs. And i’m worried anet wont pay much attention to it cause its a warhorn which is not as popular of a weapon as a greatsword, for example. Which is why i keep posting about it lol
(edited by OMNIBUS.2913)
So I’ve seen other threads but cant find them anymore. I’m still trying to figure out if envelopes are only affected by account magic find or if other magic find buffs actually work with them. Can anyone confirm so i don’t waste my buffs? :< Would heading to silverwastes to get perseverance and hero of the wastes also benefit?
Id rather anet add outfits to the gemstore and armor skins in game to earn. Which they are doing with HOT expac, so no problems here.
Back in december when i was working on my legendary. I was nearly finished with frostfang and only needed to finish armored scales and one other t6. I was excited that i was gunna finish on xmas day so i started making armored scales in the forge until i got 251 scales. Figured id sell the last one and i needed every bit of money i could fidn on my account if i was to finish today. I was so excited i accidently sold the 250 stack of armored scales instead of the one[ I hit instant sell really fast :/]. Selling all those scales to the lowest bidder along with the TP tax caused me a net loss of like 30-40g. Plus i had to get my scales again. I was so dissapointed -_-. So i went back to farming when i thought i was finished(such a tease feeling). It only took a few more days tho >.<

You could pick the balding hairstyle, I dont know many popstars rocking a balding look heh( i gues britney did for a short time). Or just one of the shaved hairstyles doesnt come off as a pop star look to me, but sure we could use more. Also, I think male humans really need more facial hair options. Were very limited on that.
(edited by OMNIBUS.2913)
Oh and just a suggestion. You should try previewing these if you have them. Might look good on him. http://gw2-fashion.com/fire-gods-vambraces/
Or maybe the hellfire vambraces could look good too. The current ones may look the best still but doesn’t hurt to preview.
9/10 nice look. I like your colors and hair choice(hair kinda looks like fire itself). I prefer fires of balthazaar for a fiery back item over mad memoires. Still looks good either way tho.
There’s another thread with a dev response on this. Its every aura when being in a large group of players or NPC. I’m too lazy to find the thread tho haha. But they just said they would look into it.
Yea, i’ve seen that thread too. But i havent seen frostfang bug since the patch. So i assumed some of the legendary bugs were fixed. So the auras are still not working on other legendaries as well, lame :/
(edited by OMNIBUS.2913)
So even after the most recent update and the removal of tonic auras with legendaries, my howler is still bugged. After getting the bug pretty much all the time for the past 2 months i realized its from entering a stack of players/npcs and when i leave the aura is gone. Here are pics below with the first 2 taken just before this post(first pic of each set shows the bug with the second pic after stowing weap and re-equipping). It also clips hardcore with female “in-combat” standing animations but i don’t see this changing. At least fix the aura plz anet.

Id rather them add existing weapons to current professions. And i would personally love tengu. I have one slot and one class left to make just in case tengu is introduced XD. I have no desire to make a second or third of the races we currently have. I’ve seen enough of them and heard the same voices plenty of times( i also dont like asura at all). Tengu would be refreshing for me.
So before the patch i could wield my longbow and then use an endless tonic. This would allow my aura from frostfang and howler to appear on my longbow swap even though its not a legendary. Was this feature removed? Is there another way to use the auras on other weaps like before?
I would like to see the following new ways for acquiring Fractal Weapons:
1. You get a Fractal Weapon Box for completing Fractal Frequenter (500 Fractals completed). This is a one-time bonus and is retroactive.
2. You can trade 100/250/500(? Open to negotiation) Pristine Fractal Relics for a Fractal Weapon Box. As part of this change, you can trade back any existing Fractal Weapon skin you don’t want for 100 Pristine Fractal Relics.
3. Fractal Weapon Boxes are now a very rare drop from completing Fractal Level 40 – 50.
4. A new Fractals meta-achievement is added where you get a Fractal Weapon Box for completing every single Fractals achievement (except Fractal Frequenter). (This may be a problem if ANet decides to add more Fractals in the future, however.)
Good idea +1. Maybe scratch number 4 unless they add harder achievements. They are pretty ez.
Thought id post this. Its the description of the necromancer on guildwars2.com and the wiki.
“Necromancers are masters of the dark arts. They summon the dead to fight for them, channel blood energy and rend their enemies’ souls. Necromancers draw on life force and use it to strengthen or heal themselves and others. As a scholar profession, necromancers wear light armor.”Sound familiar? differences i see are heavy vs light. Necros can transform, have dark and frost as followers of grenth alrdy, and a second bar that allows them to transform just sounds very similar to death shroud. It even builds in combat but is more linked to specific skills and traits.
Key difference is that Reapers are Melee bringing on Melee of Dervish but evolved over 200 years. Yes it has transformations but so does many other classes. What makes Death Shroud different from Reaper Forms like suggested above is that you consume all your boons to enhance your form. Also your forms act as your secondary weapon since you wouldn’t have a secondary weapon unlike Necromancers. I was vague on what you can transform into because I leave that for artist imagination on the dark monsters models that could be used. But sure, I can show some ideas for some.
Also want to add, that Reapers’ bloodstone mechanics consume boons when using a bloodstone, and the bloodstone depletes over time unlike Necro, and need constant supply. So the Reaper is always building up souls to fuel a bloodstone while timing boons for full effect. That’s where the tactical part of playing the class comes in.
If the key difference is melee then just give necro more melee options. Which could include many of your ideas on the skills. win/win

Ele- Mace. I dont like greatsword, bows, axes, shields or hammers for ele tbh. They alrdy have the conjure weapons. I’d like to see them get mace as its often used by spellcaster types in other games.
Guardian-Warhorn. Guardians love to buff and support party i could see them fitting this in well.
Necromancer- Greatsword. Like Trahearne and Marjory. Plus all the dark lookign greatswords that would fit necro so well.
Mesmer- Pistol mainhand. I just wana wield dual pistols on them XD
Ranger- Dagger mainhand- Same as above^ except dual daggers
Engi- Hammer. I just feel like this fits for them
Theif-not sure. sword offhand maybe.
Warrior- they have so many weapons already. I guess torch woudl be interestign to see on them.
Well my main concern is necromancer is the least favored class for pve usefulness. I’d rather build on a class thats alrdy behind than introduce another dark themed class. People would just opt for the new class and just brush necro aside.(cant speak for everyone here but thats what i see happening). And like i said they can incorperate knighthonors ideas onto necro alrdy. If it proves useful it will encourage more necromancer play. The only difference is they will still wear light armor. Marjory and Trahearne use greatsword, give necro that instead.
The necromancer’s fallpoint in PvE typically falls to the over-reliance on conditions and the caps that have been put on them. To better the necromancer profession, fixing the issue of condition caps and condition effectiveness is what’s needed. In large numbers, a profession that just simply adds more conditions will become pointless because all professions can give conditions – and in large numbers, even with just the least conditioning profession can max out the caps.
Also, your theme comparisons are kinda vague.
So were yours, and that was my point.
If you’re going to discredit the idea of a “dark soldier” profession just because we already have a dark profession, or because we already have two other soldier classes – which is what you and krapmyself (how is that account name not banned?) were doing, effectively – then that fails because we have more than that for other, equally general, profession themes.
Necro has more than just condi cap issues. Any necro with a brain(assuming they want more efficient runs) would run power in dungeons anyway becuz of the cap, and the fact that everything dies before your condis start dealing serious damage. Which gives necro an alternative from conditions. The main issue is they dont have any worthwhile group utility.
You cant get much more vague than “non-magical” as a theme. There is clearly more to both warrior and engi. So using non-magical as a defence for multiple themes doesnt really fly with me :] .While I dont elaborate every little detail about them, classifying them as a technology type and fighter class is more accurate.
By your standards guardian, ele, mes, and necro are also are themed the same. As “magical”! 0_0
(edited by OMNIBUS.2913)
We alrdy have a class with a dark theme, Necromancer. You could potentially give necros new traits and weapons which allow these options you would like. I’d much prefer that over a new dark themed class.
Nice try. Won’t happen. We already have the full beat em up plate wearer and the magical plate wearer. We also already have a death themed class.
Any 3rd soldier class that comes along, which will probably be never, will have to be original in theme, mechanics, and style. a “death knight” simply doesn’t fit that bill.
Regarding the bold:
We have two elemental themed classes: ranger and elementalist
We have two deception themed classes: thieves and mesmers
We have two non-magical themed classes: warrior and engineerSo why can’t we have two dark themed classes?
Regarding the underlined:
We have three adventurer, we have three scholar, so why can’t we have three soldier? All three scholars are the “magical lightweight” and rangers and thieves are both agile fighters that mix tools and magic, so why can’t there be more than one magical plate wearer? You’re saying “we can’t have more than one of this very general description for multiple classes!” but we already do, on multiple accounts.
In fact, the only thing we’re lacking multiple of is a dark themed and a light themed profession – but we have a light heavy, so a second guardian makes little sense. A dark heavy, however, can make sense.

Also, your theme comparisons are kinda vague. Ranger is a pet and survival class imo, not an elemental themed class. Rangers may have spirits but its a small aspect and they are mostly used for their buffs(pve wise anyway). Warrior is the fighter class while engi is the technology/alchemist type class. Theif and mesmer i could see your point on deception. Although I feel like theif is less deception and more like hiding for the oppurtune moment to strike. While mesmer straight up tries to confuse you with clones and small stealths.

You guys should be glad you can at least buy the precursor on tp and its not pure rng(fractals, teq hoard). Time to get over your ego of buying a precursor on tp is not legendary. Your just holding yourself back( or perhaps giving yourself an excuse to complain). I saved up money over time and bought a pre. When you don’t get a pre after tossing a bunch of stuff in the mystic forge maybe its time you stopped playing the rng. As it’s only frustrating you, just buy the dang thing.
I know axe isnt exactly a fav weapon for many necros, But dont forget about axe 3 :P. Aoe boon strip! Agreed that mesmer is better at it though.
1. Frostfang
2. Howler
3. Juggernaut
4. Kamohoali’i Kotaki
5. Predator
Honorable mentions: Bolt, Frenzy, Meteorlogicus, Rodgort
I’ve made 2 out of 5 so far, i doubt i’ll make all of them but these are my first picks. Dislike the greatswords cause i feel like many people have one of the 3 swords now, and all the greatsword skins look waaaay too similar. Which makes it seem like even more people have them.
I am pretty sure the devs at Anet also use RNG to do their daily work: they must two lotteries, one that produces at ramdom an aspect of the game, and the other that produces at random an action:
Ecto – Nerf => done!
Fractals 50+ – Remove => Done, yihaa!
Fractal skin boxes above 50+ – Implement => Nice!
TA foward up – Remove => Woohoo fun!
Dailies – Rework => Done!
Dailies – Rework => Re-Done!
Dailies – Rework => Again? Ok done!
Zelyhn – Ban => Ohh no, but done anyway! All hail GReNth
made me lol XD
If you keep at fractals you will eventually get the skins you want after a long time
Why the false statement? If luck isn’t on your side you can literally never get the skin you want. If you happen to be super lucky you can also get the weapon you want after the first time you run a 20+, sometimes lower. Rng account bound…… one of the worst things in gw2 imo.
it isnt false, he said “long time” with no other qualifier
im at 14 skins and still dont have the one that i want, hasnt been a long enough time yet (11 unique skins post fracture)
I’ll just restate this “If luck isn’t on your side you can literally never get the skin you want.” Which means you wont get it eventually if your not lucky.

Would def make a largo if they made them playable. Also still hoping for tengu one day.
I would be like this change actually. Let the people who choose to stay bad and not listen die. The way i see it it can only help increase the chance of the event succeeding. I’d rather have someone dead and scaling than actively healing the boss. Preferably they should wp ofc, but that doesn’t always happen.
I always wanted the mini mystical dragon that was in the miniatures tab in bank before the miniature change patch. But we never got to see it :/ wonder if it was an exclusive mini for chinese players or something.
Hey, I don’t have a problem with that. If it can be lured/forced onto dry land for us to take on with a (sensible) method . . . or with a reason such as “to remove it from its element and fight it on our battleground of choice instead of its” . . . I could get behind that.
. . . I mean, why on earth if you had the choice of doing that or fighting an underwater dragon in its home . . . would you do the latter? Why on earth would you intentionally try to take on a dragon in its lair instead of outside it? This is how D&D adventuring parties become dead meat.
The only reasons it worked against Zhaitan were -
- It didn’t seriously think the Pact could do it. It really seemed to think it was invincible even when it was busy shrieking at us from a pillar as cannon fire tore it apart.
- The entire Pact turned up for it with a weapon tuned to pretty much disrupt dragon energy.
- Its element wasn’t something intrinsically dangerous like lava or extreme cold or deep water. It was controlling dead corpses.
You could also come up with a bunch of reasons why we would have to go after it. Just like zhaitan :p You never know how anet will write the story
With the rate we are going getting new content regarding the other dragons and how overall unpopular underwater game play was with the players, I feel that dragon is going to be the last one we get to and I have the feeling it’s going to be turned into an on dry ground battle.
Yea agreed, it will most likely be the very last dragon. I really hope they dont just opt for it to head to land. And that we actually have to go after it in the unending ocean. People may not like underwater combat but i dont see the harm in 1/6 dragon stories having more water combat than land :p
The problem with this signet now is that there’s no play with the passive. You have to get hit repeatedly, and it doesn’t compensate enough for the numerous big hits. It’s also terrible for when you get hit repeatedly in succession and that ICD is active. Making it when YOU hit the foe without an ICD creates play because you can go after someone or hit multiple foes at once and try to cleave for major siphons. It also creates counterplay because it means if an enemy can keep distance from your fast melee hits or LOS your range attacks, you don’t get any heals. I think that sort of stuff would make it a great skill, not to mention it would increase PvE DPS and give Necros more oomph for dungeon clearing.
Passive: Siphon life when you strike a foe.
Active: Heal yourself and mark a foe. Allied players will siphon life from that enemy.
Initial Self Heal: 3,960 (0.5)
Passive Life Siphon Damage: 102 (0.05)
Active Life Siphon Damage: 392 (0.2)
Vampiric Mark (10s): Life is siphoned when struck by players
Range: 1200Note the removal of the ICD, note how it siphons when you strike a foe, not when a foe strikes you. Lastly, it now lasts 10 seconds instead of 6 so that you can actually get more stacks off if you are alone.
I didnt look into your numbers but +1 for the general idea. The passive should’ve been on hit and not when your hit, IMO. As long as the numbers are decent and the cooldown reduced it might actually compete with Consume conditions.
I doubt we will get anything anytime soon. But there is still the unnamed underwater dragon that drove out quaggons and largos. Hes chilling in the unending ocean from what i read. When that dragon becomes active I expect lots of underwater content; A full underwater map[s], underwater world boss and possibly an underwater dungeon. It would be soooo epic for those of us who like underwater content. Including a rebalance of underwater skills. Probably just wishful thinking on my part :]

Why were the removed? Same reason the various infinite gathering tools are only around temporarily. If things are around all the time people will put off getting them because you can get them any time. If you make it a limited time availability people will feel a certain urgency to get them the next time they are available because you won’t know when they might be coming back.
TL;DR It’s to get procrastinators to buy more stuff.
I believe this is the reason^ they are trying to drive sales in general. The removal blc weaps can actually benefit some players too. The ones who saved their weaps to sell later can get a nice big chunk of gold now :](sadly im not one of those players) . Even if you missed out on some older weaps and they dont bring them back. They will likely keep coming out with more so hopefully you see another set you like. Or you can try to buy off the tp if you want it THAT bad. Asuming its still available ;/

Awesome — thanks a ton for those threads! It really helps to have this information.
I’ll send off a report now.
Also the howler mist aura is bugged along with the night time affects. I didnt see that mentioned yet. The mist aura randomly disappears like many of the other auras that were bugged. I noticed it disappears far more than frostfangs(as sometimes ill have frostfang effect but not howlers) . Happens mostly when i exit an area that was riddled with particle effects from spells or when a group of people crowd together to get loot or a chest.
(edited by OMNIBUS.2913)
Precursors you can work towards by saving gold. I’ve done it once myself. But don’t forget teq hoard. I ran teq a ridiculous amount of times. I would say far more than my gw2 friends, yet they hav teq hoard and i dont. I also once upon a time suffered through fractal rng by trying well over 500+ fractals for the greatsword which i never got. I now quit fractals, gave up that goal and have 2 legendaries. So yea i stay far clear of account rng stuff now. Only running teq for the karma XD
(edited by OMNIBUS.2913)
kk thnx i dont wana spend money on scholar atm so imma go flame legion.
So I got my guard a set of zerk for dungeons, clerics for fun(not really sure where cleric guard is useful) and now he has pvt for certain world bosses. Whats the best way to go for world boss full pvt runes? Something that will universally work well on multiple world bosses(the non crit ones).
New race(tengu specifically XD). I don’t feel the need for a new profession right now cause i think they should expand more on the current professions. Giving us more weapons for each class for example.
I maintain my selfish desire to preserve my vision and object to more male skin
I’m guessing your male in real life? Do you also go blind from looking at your own body in the mirror? lol. I never get the whole guys being repulsed by other guys bodies thing. That aside +1 to more form fitting and skimpy armor.
The “no life” argument is such a joke. You don’t get to determine who is living or who isn’t. Jabbing just becuase you don’t get what you want doesn’t help your point of making legendaries casual. And its likely why your getting negative responses.
The “no life” argument isn’t a joke, gaming addiction is a very real and prominent part of the gaming world.
Likewise, the fact that those who are heavily invested in the game tend to also be loud voices on these forums where by the push/steer/defend/police topics becomes an issue for both the casual player and the game itself. Because once it starts catering solely to this group, well it’s a downward slope…
I think this also helps explain some of the negativity towards jonesb and many other posters who criticize the game, because to do so is seen as a personal attack by those most attached to it. And from what I’ve witnessed, this is one of the primary reasons for the amount of debates/arguments/name calling in these forums.
Really the point of this whole thread is, it doesn’t matter whether prices are inflated or not, the fact remains that a game built for casual players has created a system where they’re being priced out of the game. The games response to this is to create “hooks” that attempt to manipulate people to log in on a daily basis, while not addressing the ROOT issue.
We alrdy explained to him that you can work outside of gw2 and make a legendary, so gaming addiction isnt the issue here. He is responding by telling people they have no life. I believe that argument is a joke yes. Because he saying it out of spite.
(edited by OMNIBUS.2913)
I dont know what stuff some of you guys are on. When I started this game at the very release the guild I was in was supposed to be casual yet players who thought of themselves as casual had gotten to 7500 achievement points in much less than a year if i mind right.
I have got 10k achievement points now from doing a huge variety of things in this game instead of grinding or farming the same or similar stuff for certain ingredients. There are many players of these games who just need to get a life outside it. Really. If you want to play this game with some sort of mad hard core philosophy or think casual means you only spend 5 hours a day every day fine but you only deserve a straitjacket not a legendary or anything else. I did play this game quite obsessively at start so im not immune to this either but i managed to get clean. Get the addiction out my system. I advise you all do.
The exception are people who are ill or disabled, who may be housebound and who just have more time anyway they are unable to fill otherwise and the game is a nice way for them to do it.
I may have only been playing MMOs for 8 years but the commenst that MMOS arent for me is so ignorant its unbelieveable. Its always the first comment that comes out when someone complains. If I could I would split at a moment to other newer mmo games but my computer sucks big time, my hardware and my windows vista 32 bit

You completely ignored my post and just spewed out the usual work for it lecture. Its a GAME!!! I work in real life. I have my priorities right.
I addressed it actually, you want legendaries to be casual, we might as well not call them legendary anymore. I work in rl too and i still seemed to manage…GW2 is somethign i do on my relaxation time with my freinds and we are all building legendaries together as our goal. I have fun with it although it would be nice if some alternate ways to make money were added with rewards similar to dungeons. But by no means are any of us asking for it to be easier. Also if use the black lion trader you can save for your legendary without putting in a ton of hours. Why dont you try that instead of asking for the ez street. And real commitment to this game… I have been playing since gw1(nearly after it was released), guess i deserve 10 legendaries now by your standards
