Wrong. And that is the problem i have with it.
How is having quest gated items, that has a 100% “chance” of getting that item at the completion of the quest chain make it so that not everyone get obtain it? If you have a persistant quest line, much like the PS, that everyone can do, then eventually everyone will be able to get that item. Of course they are not required to do that quest, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be able to get it.
Plz read my edit above for ur answer to that question :P Also though, legendaries are available for everyoen to get but not everyone gets lucky OR* wants to put in the dedication to buy the weap even though they may like it. Still, they can get it if they want to. But with rng u may never get it. If they buy it with gems gg for anet and it will only help the game imo. More cash for the them=mroe time put into it for us

RNG does get implemented usually so you don’t get what you want as quickly as you wish to.
Im sure anyone would be happy with a random precursor drop! but just in case it never drops for me i can buy it. Which i did. Never gotten a nice precursor drop cuz rng fails me so last week i boguht chaos gun with all the gold i earned playign the game.
To the detriment of rational players who want those skins. The only reason I do fracts is for tokens in exchange for ascended rings with stats that cannot be crafted and getting tokens for 20 slot bags in the process. Anything else is a bonus. Once I got the ring I wanted, not doing fracts unless the mood takes me and a guildie invites me.
I didn’t even do fractals for the rings. I used laurels. I’ve done fractals enough to experience most of them once, for the lore perspective. I do want the sword skin, but I have no motivation to play that content with people.
Not going to grind for nothing guaranteed in return.
This isn’t any different than say, going out into the Floodplain of Mahnkelon to kill Jerneh Nightbringer because you want The Nightbringer staff that he drops. There is no guarantee that it will drop during any specific run. Hell, there’s no guarantee he’ll drop anything at all during a run. But people do it over and over and over again. I have no idea how many times I killed him trying to get it. The only guarantee is that he’s the only one that can drop it.
At least in fractals you have a variety of critters that ‘can’ drop the skins.

Yes, everything was tradable in GW1, and look at some of the prices for the rarities. How many people do you think could actually afford the mini polar bear?
The amberite weapons are supposed to be a symbol that the user 1) did the content to obtain the bug (at least to some extent) and 2) that they craft. It’s not the best status symbol, I’ll admit, but it’s a start.
The fractal weapons are similar in that they scream to the world that this person plays fractals, and has likely climbed well up the ladder to get that weapon.
These are items that give the player the ability to be unique, at least to a small extent. Have many not been asking for things that do exactly that? Items that help them ‘stand out’ in the crowd?
Making these tradable would remove that uniqueness. It would likely produce the same response that a lot of people have in regards to legendaries. ‘Whoopy ding, you can buy it, you probably just cc’ed it’ Legendaries are not legendary because they can be purchased. Even for those that build their own, the sense of accomplishment is diminished, especially if they could have bought the darn thing for less than what it cost them to make it.
Making them tradable would have a significant impact on the economy. As others have pointed out, and yet others have admitted to, they horde such rarities until the price climbs and they can make a significant profit on it. To negate how much of an impact this could have, they could increase the drop rate, but then you decrease the rarity and desirability of the item. Final Rest is an excellent example. While it was bugged, and super rare, it’s price sky rocketed. It was this ‘awesome’ skin that people wanted. Now, with the bug fixed, its worth what…1 – 2 gold? People could care less about it, its just ‘another’ skin.
There are pros and cons to every decision, and such changes need to take them all into account.
In regards to setting up a token system, we fall back into the conversation of do we really need another currency? Beyond that, if they do this for fractals, should this also then be applied to other super rare skins, like Teq’s drops? Should they be different currencies? Should it be one shared currency? If they implement it so that you get 1 token per each successful run, does this then minimize the ‘wow’ factor when you finally get a weapon? Does it turn it into ‘just another grind’? Like I said, there are a lot of things to consider, and some decisions can bite you in the kitten .
People who put in a lot of work on the game can afford the mini polar bear(and its gaurenteed). Bug weapons and fractal weaps especially r not a symbol that people spent ample time doing the content. Its a symbol of luck, cuz its rng with no progression. And you can get them right away if ur lucky.
You only support that these weaps shoudl be tradeable then cause legendaries are supposed to be the rarest weapons in the game and can be bought like the majority of stuff in this game. So why cant fractal and bug weapons be bought as well?
FYI my necro rocks final rest staff and she looks amazing. That “prestigious only me has it” desirability you speak of is just peoples big egos. I can show u a screenie if u want shes so awesome, and with mostly basic gears too. I get compliments on her look all the time :P
Its far more grindy to leave it as rng assuming your luck is bad like mine(lets not forget about the chance u may never get the weapon). And yes there shoudl be ways to earn all those things through any other way than just rng. It doesnt remove any wow factor becuase im alrdy upset about the amount of time i’ve wasted. Even if i got it now i would still be smh….

The short, and simple truth of the matter is that RNG loot is a necessary evil in games. Not just MMOs, games in general. Honestly, the amberized bugs aren’t any different than opening chest after chest in GW1 looking for that perfect 15^50, +20% (or whatever) r9 in GW1. Does no one recall that nightmare and the cost of some weapons prior to inscriptions? It’s the same thing.
It’s no different than going out to farm whatever unique from whichever specific boss dropped it. Your friend could go do the run 4 times and get it, you could do it 400 times and still not get it. That’s just how it works. It supposed to make you frustrated. So you walk away, take a deep breath, come back and continue doing it. It is the hook that makes you continue to play. “I want this, so I’m going to get it or die trying”
Now, this hook doesn’t work for some people. It’s not how their mentality works. They desire additional options for acquisition (above and beyond the repetitive ‘grind,’ farming isn’t their ‘thing’). They want to be able to buy it from players. They want to be able to buy it for real money. Etc, etc. I’m not against additional acquisition options; however, their impact on the game as a whole (not just economically) has to be taken into consideration.
Upping drop rates, making things sellable via the trading post, etc may sound all well and good but can end up being a double edged sword.
It is different becuase in Gw1 everything was tradeable(thank god). Plz explain why making fractal weapons and bug weapons sellable on tp would be a double edged sword… or the other option, why woudl making them earnable through a similiar token system like dungeons be a bad thing?

Except I don’t use Trading Post. I play on exclusive drop-reliance. I sell to Merchants.
Maybe you’re talking to the wrongest person here because I have what seems to be a totally different mentality from both “lucky” and “rng hate” players.
There is no skin I desire. I get drops, and wear and equip what I like the look of best, out of what I am given. Wardrobe, to me, is unadulterated laziness.
To sum this up quite nicely, all you people are like lottery players protesting government/overseeing body to change the system because not enough of you are winning it big. In the lottery. And that’s just silly.
That is your personal choice to not use the TP. You can acquire your rare drops more reliably on tp.
The whole point of this post is so we dont have to play lottery. Cause some of us again dont like gambling and making it the only way to acquire something just makes me not want to bother with it. In real life i dont gamble or play the lottery ever. I earn my money from going to work :P I’d like this earnability for everything in the game.

I dump absolutely every rare item I get into Mystic Forge, so far about 700+, only got 4 exotics from drops ever, NONE of which my char can even use but they sit in my bank and I treasure the shininess.

Trolling aside i never stated rng was a being out to get me.Rng cankittenover however! While progression doesnt. You put int he work you get the result.
Your example of using mystic forge is bad. Because u ignore the key fact that anything rare u get from it can be bought on the tp. Which means there is always progression as you make gold in game. Account bound rng=0 progression which in turn=frustration(or possibly yaaaaay im so luky).
Gw2 endgame revolves around skins. Anet is basically dangling kool stuff we would like to have and making us play slot machines for it. Thats fine thats its optional but if you open your mind and put yourself in others shoes you shoudl see why people get upset by this stuff! People are over putting in tons of time becuz a certain desired skin and constantly getting nothing with no progress. Why woudlnt u want to change this? (trolling bak on) Maybe you will have a change of heart when anet releases a weapon set u love, u start the gamble and u dont get a thing..ever ;D harharhar. Then someone who put 100x less work gets it right away. Does that sound fun? If you didnt alrdy give up out of rng resentment you coudl sell your soul and still not get the skin before gw3 comes out! And btw, I’m not lookign for handouts just tired of gambling. I rather spend my time on guarenteed rewards over time rather than possible but not likely rewards. I think the point is I have spent 30-40 hours doing fractals with 0 progress towards the skin I want and absolutely nothing to show….. How many people making their legendaries or ascended weps etc. can say the same thing? I’m also sure there are people in the same situation as me with hundreds of hours…….
Thats exactly what u gotta do. Forget fractal weapons for now until something is changed and make a legendary! The more u try the more you start to resent gw2 cuz of this rng. And the resentment only grows when you see low lvl fractal runners getting the weapons you want even tho u spent so much time in fractals(good for them but sux for u). I spent many more hours than u trying to get certain weapons and the luck it takes is just not worth it. After about 2 months i am along the way of makign my legendary quip and should be finished with it in about a month. :]

People asking for increased cast time on signet of spite? with all the blocks, stealth, evades, people that los all day and blinds spam prevelant in this game… It alrdy has to be carefully landed as an all or nothing attack so i dont like the idea. If its too op for u then nerf a bleed lol, assumign it wont b removed anyway. Also i like the new dhuumfire as is, never bothered to use life blast before in condi build but now i always do.(its way more fun then a random proc) You can now control the condi burst too. The downfall to the new dhuumfire is all the ai pets running around body blocking the blast and taking the burning. I also feel for a grandmaster 3 sec burning is not very long.

Same here, i would run aetherpath a lot more if the ooze part was more pug friendly. Just make the oozes u hav to get across allies that u can heal! But in the past wen i tried(sometimes it went well) our pug was usually stuck at the first door. Trying forever until everyone just givs up lol. Everythign else in the dungoen is kool tho!

Was the one with 6 in ferocity the more damaging spec before it got changed to ferocity? I only ask because it would seem if you have a group giving you buffs and your using zerkers you wouldn’t need all the precision your getting from the curses line.
I’ve seen a lot of variation in power builds, i havent done tests to see which is the top dps tho. To answer your second question power builds often put 5 in curses line to get the damage boost via target the weak. I personally run 6/2/0/0/6 as i often run with pugs and non meta groups. And 6 in soul reaping gives you a ton of survivability and option to range better than the 5 in curses build in case your group runs into a tough situation.
To the OP. I myself have only seen condi necros or some weird power/hyrbid builds where you can tell they’re not zerker cuz they just dont kill fast. I think people see light armor, caster type class and they opt for staff and scepter as their weapons. Not to mention there is so few necros i get in pugs. I think if any newer necro players came on the forums they might just reroll after all the crap people talk about the class. Its too bad cuz it seems necros have pretty high damage vs the other classes. Only my ele and theif beat my necro in dps.
Its almost like the community has multiple groups of people with differing opinions.
For me its more like dont fix what isnt broken. Queens Gauntlet was a popular and everyone seemed to like it last year. Whether it was for farming mats, or for queens gauntlet challenge. Why change something everyone liked? leave it i say lol.
Well i came into zephyrite today and the dolyak race was near the last 2 mins. I made an attempt to get to the top for the reward and didnt make it but i still got 32 tickets anyway for participating i guess? lol thats how i found out.
I havent really noticed people harassing others to hurry up. But like you said it only matters that you finish so just ignore them. There needs to be obstacles along the way otherwise its a liesure walk to the top(well it almost is that right now). Tbh i would like to see safety net removal and spike traps that do damage like in guild missions
….along with not recieving the reward unless you cross the finish line.
The zone as a whole is my favourite, I love exploring and searching for sky crystals and getting progress towards rewards by doing things other than pressing 1 and/or relying on RNG gods. It isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I find it very refreshing.

I really like the zone and aspects too, refreshing indeed. I wouldve done the sky crystal search myself. I think it could be fun but atm not rewarding enough for the time spent imo. you just get a few achieves and 1 to meta. Maybe they will have another event like this later on that has a worthwhile reward, i would def like that!
Well you have to admit last year queen jubilee was over the top, it completely ruined the game economy.
The more rewarding events get the less ingame gold has value.
Yes but considering it only drops prices of tier 6 mats once a year at most. I dont see it as such a bad thing. The economy equalized over time and will do so again even after a rewarding event imo.
While i strongly dislike the new pavilion and miss the old one. I have to say i like crystal collection and flying dolyak events. While i think it could be a little more difficult its nice to have something to do in towns that is rewarding. Also a nice change of pace in a game where you are mostly fighting and killing things(which i also enjoy doing but just saying). In many rpgs too, there is often breaks from the fighting where you can earn extra rewards by doing certain events. I like having that option, maybe add something to the game like this that is permanent plz :]
Because queens gauntlet was the most rewarding event last year and now they nerfed it. You have to pay to do the event and have an organized server or guild to get a just decent reward. If you get bronze reward it is worthless. I think many people(myself included) were really excited to be able to farm mats like last year only to see dissapointment of no loot and exp. On a good note i like the new town events in zephry sanctum although they could use a little more difficulty.
I wouldve trashed my blade shards a long time ago if i had known. They were just taking up space for some greens…..

Like some have mentioned, i would like to see the orders skills in. In particular order of pain and order of the vampire. Make it an active utility that buffs the party giving them lifesteal and power boost that is unique to necromancer only.
You boost drop rates too much, and then everyone and their cat end up with fractal skins. Once you get those skins, there really isn’t much incentive to run fractals anymore.
It’s a sad truth, but low RNG encourages business in the long-term. What’s the point of playing a game if you beat it within hours?
Then they need to make fractals actually worth running beyond the rng weaps and ascended boxes. If the rewards are good then people will still run it even after they got their weapons.
I think what annoys me is they could at least add a few of these gem store items to be earnable in game. It would be more fun and feel more rewarding to have vs just buying your look. I can understand they are trying to make money, but they are going a bit overboard with gem store stuff imo. It comes off tacky when they add 80% of new items to be bought with gems.
It mostly happens on my necro with dagger mainhand. Bloodlust will just not stack even though i have the superior sigil on the dagger. On occasion it will stack to 25 as normal, but majority of the time on necro it bugs. On my other chars i dont seem to have this problem, their bloodlust sigils stacks normally. Its very strange :s ….Sometimes the accuracy sigil my necro has on offhand will bug too…Also i do not remove weapon or have any other stacking sigils on so thats not the problem either.
You just have to be quick on the summons, and as soon as they’re summoned you swap them for your reals skills. Start with 1-2 to get the hang of it if you’re afraid to be stuck with a minion. Even 1 grants you the 10% needed to enter DS.

Why would you use wells in a 1v1 scenario?
In fact fighting thieves is normally a waste of time simply because they will reset the fight as they please and there is nothing you can do unless you get lucky…
However with some LF you also shouldnt lose that easily. This is actually important if you encounter a thief make sure you always have some LF left to enter ds.
This. having Life force makes the difference 1 vs 1 against good warriors and especially good thieves imo. I try not to 1 vs 1 at the begining of a match until i at least hav enough LF to enter deathshroud. If u didnt alrdy do this, some maps have objects that u can hit with staff 1 to get LF early. I always it use it on the boxes at kyhlo on home points.
You just gotta down one person or join the team fight. Then as long as they are not on point staff auto them to death while they’re in downed state for a full life force bar. Thats what i do XD. I tried the sacrificing minions which works in hotjoin. but unless im missing something in tpvp your life force resets when the game is about to begin on the last 10 second timer. Your skills are then locked at that point. Dont wana be stuck with minions when im not MM.

Just reverting droprate to prefractured would be enough.
I got all skins at that time.(about 18% at max level).
Its current droprate that is irreasonable and also bugged since really lot of people reports drops being better at lower levels (see also reddit statistics).
Or get rid of rng. Becuz pure rng is frustrating causing people to grind longer than they should for a non legendary while others put in hardly any work and sometimes get lucky. Last thing i want is for them to just leave it rng..so i can get my 4th fractal warhorn, no thnx. Lord Byron you have no arguement justifying rng being the best way for everyone to earn these. Becuz its not, gradual progression is the way to go.
I’ve only been kicked once or twice by trolls who were kitten cuz i asked them to do something having far more experience in the dungeon than them. However i have noticed that many dungeon runners get really annoyed by the slightest mistakes even if its not a wipe. So while dungeon community is not that great..imo its not as bad as your making it out to be.
Well i can at least say the new grenth is a pain in the kitten . Just a tad bit too close to those shades and boom u insta dead! Long walk back too lol

It took a year to me to get the one i needed.
They are skins and the only rare skins in game not gold related…they should be reasonably hard to get since you can play without them.
They can be reasonably hard to get without rng…that would be nice for everyone…… Lets not forget the newer fractal people running aroudn with fractal weapons cuz they got luky. I’m going over a year now although lately i run fractals scarcely cuz of crap rewards. Focusing on legendary now cuz it at least i can 100% get it. I’m still bitter cuz i designed my look on my guard based around fractal stuff and prestige i really dont care about, i only care about my char looking awesome.
I always thought that Fractal weapons were intended to be one those “take a year to get” weapons, to be honest. My main gripe with them is how they are locked so far behind RNG that you could play the game for 7 years and not get the skin you want, through sheer bad luck.
If they were intended to take a year to get. I wouldnt see people runnign around with it and not have the fully ascended backpiece, and getting it on their first fractal 20. (which i witnessed when i first got into fractals lol.) The second part i completely agree with u. It really is just luck luck luck. Forgive me but fractal weapons is one of two things that makes me bitter in this game. Hardly try for the weaps anymore and im now moving on working on a legendary. At least i know with the grind i put into a legendary ill hav it 4sure one day. In fact, i’ll likely have spent less time making the legendary than i have getting nothing in fractals! sad…….
I think rings need to be removed from the loot table of the 41-50 daily chest. This is getting beyond a joke. I have at least 80 rings lying around doing nothing in the hope that one day they allow us to do something with them (500 jewelcrafting anyone?)
Please for the love of god, give us something worthwhile for doing 41+
At the very least they should do this. Remove rings from 40+. Did lvl 50 2 days ago and the whole party got a ring LOL. But to make people actually want to run fractals they should make it less of an rng festival and more rewarding so people will still run it after they get what they want.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been deleted yet. I made a similar thread and it got deleted for being about gold sellers. I’m also getting really annoyed by gold sellers. Its sad that i think they spam you more when you block and report them. It’s getting out of control how many times they message you. And their messages are always huge filling up the entire chat log…
- Fractals; They are dungeons, I rarely do these but I know alot who does them as an endgame content and it is really crappy rewards and generally takes to long for what you get out of it.
I like your optimism, it is a pretty fun game to me too but i had to fix this for you!!
tbh OP a lot of the endgame is grinding to get nice weapons and armor for customizing your character and you can do all the things edgar suggested to get stuff you like. I would recommend not to invest time into fractals atm. Unless you are extremely lucky you will be dissappointed.

I skimmed through your ideas and they would be nice to have. More than anything, I would love the option to make the cursor stand out more!!! I have lost track where the cursor is a couple of times( i have a huge monitor and the cursor doesnt get bigger to scale with the monitor). So sometimes mid fight i will have to stop and scan the screen to find it. :/ Better targeting system is also most welcome!
I use whatever dungeon potion im in and then truffle steak or candied dragon roll if i feel like i need some sustain. I run berserker 30/30/0/0/10
