Do you even lift, bro?
(edited by Oglaf.1074)
I can see Thieves being in that category, but outside of PvP Mesmers and Elementalists aren’t nearly as powerful as people like to think.
Both WvW and sPvP these three rule supreme…
I would have liked to see more buffs to weaker/caster professions
Yeah, me too. Instead they buffed the overpowered trio; Mesmers, Thieves and Elementalists! Ahahaha….
“LFM [Insert PvE Content Here] – Warriors Preferred”
Not anymore. The changes to Omnomberry Pies/Ghosts will be a huge nerf to Warriors in PvE, without any form of compensation to our PvP capabilities. Pies/ghosts will be as worthless as Sigil of Blood. Hooray.
But I guess the three most overpowered PvP professions needed it more. Fair is fair.

“Food items that give special bonuses upon a critical hit now have an internal cooldown before they can produce the special bonus again.”
This could potentially mean that Omnomberry Pies/Ghosts will be nerfed quite a bit. All speculation on my part, of course. This would prove devastating to certain ’zerker builds, as it is what keeps them alive.
It means all the fools who thought that the “Whirling Axes” and “Omnomberry Pie” combo was going to stay around forever just got a nice dose of balance changes.
Its probably a 1sec cooldown that won’t effect most builds outside of the one mentioned above.
Sorry guys, I won’t say “I told you so” because I never made a post on the subject…but I’ve been reading the warrior forums about the axe builds lately thinking: “These guys are going to flip when they nerf ‘on-crit’ food…”
As Stewie Griffon would say: “Well, go on! … Start flipping!”
Now hold your horses, mate. I’ve been a Hammer Warrior for ages, and Pies have been a staple ingredient in my PvE build forever. They essentially removed a lot of Warrior sustainability, for what? Warriors did not get anything resembling a tankyness buff this patch. Warrior sustain is horrible as it is. Us other Warriors sorta needed this, only ’zerker Warriors abused it.
What bothers me is this: this removed a lot of Warrior survivability. Where is our increased tankyness to compensate? Even Warriors who do not go all ’zerker are relying on Pies/Ghosts to survive.

I would like to know what anet means by this.
Removed the ability to use many karma related items in WvW
Anything bought from Karma vendors, I reckon. Like there are consumable stat buffs in the Norn starting area that a lot of people abused.
Replace Dolyak Signet with Signet of Stamina.
The extra dodge juice as well as total Condition cleanse is way better than a few extra bits of Toughness. Dolyak Signet is the worst.
Dolyak Signet is worthless. Why pick it?
Try it and you will see it’s not that useless with the build i provided
How is it not useless?
1) All it does is add 80 or so Toughness. Waste of a Utility slot.
2) If its Stability you’re after, Balanced Stance does it better.
How do you outlast a Mesmer? A Thief?
You don’t.
They can both disengage at will to heal, and they can stealth. You might be able to kill a terribad Thief or Mesmer, but a good one should have no reason to lose against a Warrior.
I guess this build will be pretty much history after tomorrows patch?
Confusion is overpowered in WvW. Anet pretty much realized it was overpowered against enemy players, so in sPvP the damage is cut by 50%. For some reason, they never changed it in WvW.
It is an AoE, too.
You can stop up to three people dead in their tracks.
Elementalists, Thieves and Mesmers all got buffed one way or another.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry…
I guess it is time to jump on the overpowered bandwagon and roll one of them, rather than hoping Anet are smart enough to balance the Professions.
R.I.P Omnomberry Pie
:3
The reason why we’re so squishy is that we aint got no avoidance abilities. Stealth, clones and stuff like Ride The Lightning makes almost all classes be a lot tankier in PvP because they don’t get hit.
Warriors aint got nothing like that, except maybe Defy Pain, but that is still just facetanking damage for 5 seconds.
How many people complaining about warriors being squishy play with shield? Nothing better than reflecting Mesmer skills and creating my own illusions, that’s an already won battle most of the time lol
Anyway, we still have double HP and healing surge is probably one of the biggest heal in game when adrenaline is full…
I repeat that going full berserk with DPS traits wont help any warrior survive other classes that are better suited to do the same. Better learn to use what we have at hand if what we want to do is survive rather than pretend to have “magical” skills to survive.
Again, our Health and heavy Armour means nothing (the difference between heavy and light armour is less than 15%!) when we are forced to facetank all the damage thrown at us.

They assume they’re hitting max targets, all the time.
To me, AC is easier than CoF p1. Ive had countless bad teams wipe on Slave Driver, or unable to kill effigy. Very very few fail AC path1. If they do, they get a ele.
Oh please. The Burrows part in AC1 and AC3 are harder and requires more team effort than the whole of CoF1.
Remember the Karka event? Boy did culling ruin that one! Bombarded by invisible Karkas…
My biggest gripe with it is the huuuuuuge charge-up time on it. It makes it essentially useless in a PvP setting.
What is up with these groups forming for CoF farming that they only want 5 zerker warriors in the group.
Is there a specific reason for this ?
I know if you take 5 warriors you can practically keep 25 stacks of might up if done right but wouldn’t that increase the chance of dying ?If someone can give me more info on this that would be great
Long answer short: It is CoF1 being too easy.
The problem with Burst skills is that all it takes is 20 Trait points to make saving your Adrenaline being the more attractive option. 9% Critical Hit Chance and a whooping 12% damage boost for being at full Adrenaline?
Yes please!
Not to mention Healing Surge: blowing your Adrenaline on a Burst is potentially dangerous because your healing becomes a lot weaker afterwards.
As far as Warriors are concerned, Confusion isn’t as much about the damage as it is about causing “panic” in the enemy player, making them hesitate and slip up.
I can’t check right now, but I do know this: Hammer disables do not last as long as the tooltip implies. No way it is the full 2 seconds on Hammer 5.
EDIT: Wiki says 5 seconds of three stacks of Confusion.
Well, you can get Confusion pretty reliably with a Hammer.
Distracting Strikes, 20 points up in Strength.
Works wonders in WvW where Confusion is still pretty overpowered.
Hammer confusion-Stack confusion when u disable an opponent (5 sec)
Confusion-deal damage when enemy uses actions
disable- unable to use skills or actions (Hammer disables are 2 secs)
therefore-your confusion is wasted… (2 secs they can’t use skills anyway)That’s not how it works. Whenever you interrupt a foe with any weapon/skill, they get three stacks of Confusion. So if you time your Bull’s Charge+Hammer 4+5 you can get nine stacks of Confusion on someone, which is more than enough to make them think twice about using skills.
Alternatively you can use F1+4 on a large group of enemies to not only stun/knockback them, but again make them think twice about using skills.
If they are disabled, they are not using skills. You are missing the point. regardless of the stun, its still a stun. So part of confusion uptime is useless because they weren’t using a skill anyway.
I don’t really see what your point is…?
interrupt annoying skills > kill 10% faster.
from AC Scavengers leaping skill to breaders to fractal harpys knockback shoot to removing defiant of bosses,… I’ll always prefer a good hammer buddy than a full dps with no other use. Specially for dungeons.
Problem is that situations where CC is “nice to have” are far rarer than situations where just bulldozing through with as much damage as possible is preferable. Mobs like AC Scavengers are in the minority, sadly. It would make for a more diverse and interesting gameplay if there were more like them.
I know full well how to “manage my inventory”. There is no excuse for this sort of sloppy design. A quickbar is core feature in any MMORPG these days.
Why?
Because it is a very, very good feature.
The only thing the BL Salvage Kit is better for is retrieving Sigils/Runes, as well as having a higher chance to retrieve Gossemer instead of Silk, Ori instead of Mithril etc etc.
Unless they sneak-buffed it to boost sales. Which wouldn’t surprise me.
A quickbar function for all professions would prove a very valuable addition. Able to quickly change weapons/armour out of combat, eat food and other consumables on the fly. Rather than having to rummage through your inventory!

Raw damage usually beats cc in PvE due to Defiant and the fact that killing stuff quickly negates having to tank them any longer.
That story is told through a flashback. Said flashback tells of how the various Jotun Kings eventually killed each other off in massive battles, which supposedly led to the fall of the Jotun and the rise of the lesser races.
Arah Exploration mode speaks of the Jotun fighting the Elder Dragons a long, long time ago.
These two don’t seem connected to you?
Defeat Our Ancient Foes (formerly called Strength) in the bio leads to a storyline about how a jotun tribe leader is seeking to become a giant-king, having been promised power if he worships Jormag by the Sons of Svanir.
No I remember them quite well.
1) That was a long long time ago. Possibly the first time the Jotun encountered Jormag
2) The Jotun apparently learned from that. Well, some of them did. Also, the ones who got corrupted all killed each other eventually.
Why are there risen chickens then :|
Because chickens explode when killed, obviously. It is strictly a avian trait though, so bunnies are still ruled out.
Also, on the topic of Icebrood Jotun: aren’t they an available path in Arah exploration mode? Which implies that they faced the tempting and luring powers of corruption before. Perhaps they’ve collectively learned their lesson and are not as likely to give in as the “younger” races?

I never said that they were forces of nature. I was talking about their nature.
It is pretty sad that people who like the skin, even after completing a level 80 dungeon and their whole story, then have to find and use a transmutation stone to make use of the reward.
Same as T3 armour really. You essentially pay 120g for six skins; nobody in their right mind would actually wear the T3 armour sets as they are…
They don’t seem to want to destroy the world as much as they want to change the world to fit their nature, i.e Orr being riddled with undeath and The Brand being riddled with Branded Crystals.
Personally, I find the Elder Dragons and their motives to be very Lovecraftian in nature. The sentient races are as insignificant to the Elder Dragon’s as mere ants are to us real-world Humans. Their motives are too alien for us to comprehend.

If you think the 300 precision points are wasted in a gs build, then you are doing it wrong. Critical damage is your best friend. It is the reason you build up furry. It is the reason you wear berzerker gear. It is the reason you go discipline line.
Dealing double damage is double damage no matter how you look at it.
No, you must have read it wrong… I said 300 condition damage is wasted; thus making a build using that trait line and using a GS not the best build. Maybe a reaaaaally good one but will never be “the best” wasting 300 stat points.
Oh please. The 300 Condition Damage is pretty much wasted regardless of what weapon you use. It is not wasted more on a Greatsword build than on a Sword build in the long run.
You guys, I think you should not take human values to a non-human race, how humanlike they are.
But how could we not do that? Norns, Asura, Humans and Charr all probably share our real-world sentiment that incest is disturbing and wrong. No doubt they would look upon the Sylvari the same way us real-world Humans do.
^Props on the somewhat realistic breast size.
But technically, those locations are “stuck in time” so to speak, so when you’re playing in Cursed Shore – for example – you’re going through events that occurred before Zhaitan’s death.
Exactly. If you go replay the newbie areas the NPCs in there have hardly even heard of Zhaitan or any of the other Elder Dragons. The Pact hasn’t even been formed yet!
No Elder Dragon in their right mind would waste and effort in corrupting a being that takes 100000000% more damage from everything.
That’s one badly sunburned Norn!
The antlers on the male heavy T3 are too small. It makes your head look tiny. The concept art looks waaaaaaaay better.
Yeah. The lesser of two evils, as it were.
Personally, I never found dungeons to be that great for gold, but then I don’t speed-run CoF p1 endlessly all day …
1) Lucky Exotic/Rare drop
2)Completion silver/boss silver
3)For CoF and up, buy the 30 tokens armour pieces and salvage for Ectos
Because that is totally lore related.
Right-o.
I’d say Skritt are more of a stupid comedic race than the Quaggans. If you read the article I posted you’d see that there is a lot more going on with the Quaggans.
No, the problem is pretty much identified: it does not revive them; it heals them by a set percentage instead. So unless you nail them with your Warbanner as soon as they go down, chances are they won’t get revived.
Pretty stupid if you ask me.
