Most northern location on map+nearby waypoint=access to a new zone in the future no doubt.
Because we can’t just get enough of those centaurs.
They’re described as forces of nature, albeit possessing some level of sapience. They existed long before the giants, before the gods, even. They are akin to a primal forces, kinda skewing them into true neutral since we don’t why they seem to fight and destroy other than to just consume more magic and stay alive. They claim “territory” and use their champions to defend it and command their minions, which hints at evil, or maybe just that they’re influence over the land they reside in is so powerful that their will is passively exerted onto the populous, whether done on purpose or not. But then again, Zhaitan seems to be actively trying to destroy Tyria, but what’s not to say he’s just desperate for a big ol’ magic feast? There’s alot about the EDs we don’t know yet.
At least one person credits their crafting of a legendary weapon to the unbugging of Temple of Balthy and AFAIK it was bugged on like, literally every server. I did it for the first time on Sanctum of Rall and we seemed to have somehow auto-won against the risen priest of balthazar even though he still had 85% HP and about 3:00 minutes left on the clock. 2 questions really:
1: what’s so special about this temple? Do people want it just for the karma gear or is there something else there?
2: How is this event cleared? I kinda feel like mine wasn’t done the right way.
Just gonna throw this out there, a legendary weapon requires at the absolute minimum 100g, 500K-ish karma, 200+ skill points and at least 2 craft professions at lv400.
So uh, hold off on that ambition.
Blind only has a 10% chance on working on bosses/champions with the Unshakable buff, which100% of all bosses and champions have.
Honestly, I’m not even sure if that stat combination exists. Like, at all, I understand there are stat types that are not capable of being crafted but I’m not sure if that particular combination exists anywhere in the game. My only guests are Whisper armor.

Wow that is amazing, could any budding mathematicians work out the cost in USD for the heck of it?
I’m no mathematician, but I do recall someone estimating the material cost and placed them arond 500-600g depending on mystic clover luck. But the end product of Legendaries themselves I would imagine vary between like 1000-2000g, depending on the weapon.
It’s a mathematical point. If it says that the DR refreshes every 24 hours, then obviously 24 hours has not yet passed by and thus he will have to wait another 12.
I wasn’t even aware that the DR resets every 24 hours aftering triggering, or is that just me making up junk?
edit: guy I was responding to deleted his post, lol…
Another story which is somewhat related is when Runescape tried to get rid of scamming, which was running absolutely rampant back in ’06. They had to add increasingly draconic rules until it finally culminated with them just straight up disabling PvP.
They had since re-instated it but their playerbase never really recovered after that.
All we can do is report bots and see what Anet plans to do. How this situation is handled is mostly out of power and we just gotta hope that Anet knows what they’re doing.
Any good level 80 crafting gear that's "better" than the normal stuff?

Legendary weapons are -very- slightly superior in exotics in base attack strength, but that’s it. Once you hit lv80 and you get exotic weapons and armor, you can either say “I’m done” and run around in that armor forever, or you can say “I want to look cool as hell”, and do the farming required to get the cool looking armor/weapon skins. Once you have lv80 exotics you’ve hit the top of the gear mountain.
Ah yes, with the most recent server reset, the orichal nodes have been scattered about again. Bleh, not enjoying running through orr hunting down these nodes while I beat back the risen by the millions…….

All gear of the same level and rarity have the same total stats, be it crafted, dropped, purchased, or earned via dungeon runs. Even at lv80, all exotics have the same stats regardless of how they’re earned. So to answer your question: No.
Congratulations, now you unlock the true final boss of Arah: Ganondorf.
How’d you make it, by the way?
Indeed, young padawan.
Hmmm, last I checked Ferguson’s Crossing wasn’t exactly one of the most populous servers, evident by the fact that your server is 3rd to last place in WvW rankings.
As you close in on lv80 I think you might start to see less and less people than you already are, sad as that may be.
i am very disapointed with Arenanet and crafting in Guild Wars 2

The cloth is for the armor padding underneath, it’s might uncomfortable to wear just heavy armor and probably results in chafing and other such painful things. But yeah, you don’t really need to craft if you don’t want to, you can make a fair profit just selling the craft mats you find/gather.
I guess it’s offensives to amputees? I dunno, never heard it used in any way other than describing the act of surgically removing one’s limb….
Honestly these items are probably still underpriced considering what goes into them. There’s a serious liquidity constraint at the very tip of the market holding prices down, and expect to see legendary precursors rise even more as the economy evens out.
I expect to see them fall like a rock once its realised that about 1/10000 will ever make one…Yes they are rare…but someone who will actually end up using it is ever more rare.
But the number of people that go “I totally have the time and monetary requirement to make a legendary” won’t. Getting the precursors is the easiest step, and thus will likely be the first one they start with.
Every single class is overpowered, underpowered, balanced, broken, and in need of a rework.
At the same time.
A slow, crippled, pulling, chilled, occasionally feared slog through enemy-respawns-in-roughly-four-seconds-after-death-and-also-5-veterans-guard-temples-held-by-them-so-have-fun-getting-that-SP territory.
His scream I think hits in an AoE forming from his mouth, as well as a cone extending outwards. The issue is that this AoE circle also extends to his hind legs. The safest place is probably next to his tail while still in melee range.
From a crafter’s point of view it is entirely worthless, as crafting the box requires more materials than creating each individual piece of armor does. In your perspective, simply check the prices of the armor. If you can buy all 6 pieces cheaper than a box is worth, then it’s obvious what the answer is.
Honestly I think it’s entirely for continuity reasons, same with Kormir jacking your spotlight in GW. They need to be able to say “Zhaitan was slain by Firstborn Sylvari Trahearne”. Not, “Zhaitain was slain by the commander of the pact but we know absolutely nothing about him.”
Beta testers could only go as far as their lv19 story, everything after that was up to internal testing and QA. Judging by reaction to story difficulty/Trahearne, they probably were not as thorough as the beta testers were.
edit: completing the personal story up to lv72(or joining someone’s story isntance at that quest) is necesarry to actually getting 100% map completion for the Straits of Devestation, as a PoI is placed in an area only accessed during the lv71-72 story quest. It’s accessible with tricky jumping, but not a lot of players know that.
Berserkers, Knight’s Rampager’s, Carrion, Shaman’s, Cleric’s and Valkyrie are the only type of insignias to be crafted. Other stat combinations exist in the 42K karma exotic armor in orr, your order’s armor/weapon store, and each racial armor has a different set up of stats.

Yuu crazy son, all destroyer weapons have a unique, molten skin that has smoke coming off of it. That’s the only reason people have to craft them anyway, and they still sell for like 10g.
The price is probably gonna climb for abit. 100g buys you the commander thingy for WvW and 117g gets you T3 cultural armor. If you don’t want either of those then you’re sitting on a lot of money that’s probably just gonna go to gearing your alts which can be done for like 20g.
I can’t help but feel gamers have always been like this since the beginning, and now the technology is around to finally voice how they feel about stuff without fear of repercussion.
/2 cents
AFAIK there is no specific recipe for PvP items in the mystic forge. Just throw in the appropriate tokens and powders and crystals and hope for the best, or hope you get it out of a chest.
Not to mention the story naturally leads south towards Orr, completely away from Frostgorge. It seems a fair number of players let the story dictate their world movement so going to Frostgorge is kinda like a bonus zone. The other people are there to farm snow trolls/drakes/the few orichalc and elder wood nodes it has.
Especially painful on Sylvari who have met Trahearne already, but are reintroduced as though they’ve never met him at Claw Island.
It’s worse when the T6 armor designs are not particularly fancy compared to what you can find with karma vendors inside a zone or the cultural/dungeon armors. The reason most people make them is for the easy exotics stats for a (relatively) low price tag.
Have games been getting progressively easier throughout the years? No doubt. Is this a bad thing? Not at all. Is it ok to have hard games when most others are easy? It’s perfectly fine. In fact a lot of these older games, a level-headed video game player from that era would look back on them and be surprised they played a game that had by today’s standards terribly laid out and unituitive game design. That doesn’t they suddenly decide it wasn’t fun anymore, and nor does it mean that today’s easy mode games are nothing short of crap made digital. Whatever games trend towards are meant to appeal to as broad of a gamer audience as they can, and if that trends is easier games, then so be it. It could’ve been fancier art styles or deep narrative stories, but it just so happened to be that people decided they’d like the difficulty in their games toned down.
It’s a shift in how society is deciding to accept something, whether you like it or not, and you’ll just have to roll with it until it swings the other way.
That reminds me, I always see a huge swarm of players battling a champion snow troll in Frostgorge all the time, and I always wonder why when they could be farming the snow trolls in the back (competing against bots of course, but you get what you can).
I’ve gotten like 3, but most of my exotics came from 70+ zone completion, as the game rewards you 2 random exotics.
Everyone in this thread wishes they knew their mother more.

They are, quite annoying as a Guardian when you try to use a shout, which only affects 5 allies, and necro minions or mesmer illussions soak up the buffs.
I rarely invoke the ire of other players unless I verbally provoke them through being contrary or derogatory. Something makes me suspect you’re not entirely innocent here and are in some way provoking these responses.
^
Playing Devil’s Advocate here. Typically people don’t just spout insults at you if you have in no way interacted with them, unless they’re specifically looking to start a fight so that you can break ToS and then get you banned for lulz (people do this). So, more likely than not you might’ve done or said something to provoke him. Especially if this incident occurred in PvP.
edit: “get over yourself/stop being a whiny baby/perma-ban all who use bad words” responses inc.
@Painking Except for selling those materials would net you more of a profit (in most cases)
Exactly, which furthers the point that crafting is not profitable at all atm.
Logically speaking you could turn a profit off of lv80 exotics in any craft, but you’d need to go out and personally farm almost all of the mats, or at least the expensive ones.
Example, I require 10 scraps of gossamer, 20 gossamer spools, 15 of a T6 ifine craft material, and 5 globs of ecto, just to make the Insignia I want. This doesn’t include the gossamer and orichalcum needed to produce the actual armor piece needed. Were I to buy everything it’d run me well over the few gold I would make selling the finished product.
There’s also a “small” friendly giant in Harathi Hinterlands. Again, not killable.
I’m not at home to check, but does anyone know what the Giant Slayer track tops out at?Edit: oooo, good tip Painking.
How is Kol not killable? He’s the same as the one in Diessa Plateau and both are easy as hell. Just a ton of HP.
He says “friendly” giant. Kol is the furthest thing from friendly.
I was thinking that while my main wanders in Orr or Frostgorge, any crafting materials he picks up will be deposited to collectibles. Once I’m done adventuring, I’ll switch to my trader alt, withdraw the deposited materials and sell it off.
Also, any deals that might come up, the trader will buy it off and retain it on his own bag, not the account bank space.
Does that make sense?
There’s actually a TP to use in Frostgorge Sound, not sure about Orr though.
If I’m not mistaken, there’s a DE that randomly occurs where a Largos assassin shows up out of nowhere to assassinate the Kodan Chief of that village. Perhaps that’s said “creature” he’s talking about, given that Largos and Kodan hardly shared the same landmass, let alone location up until now.
You can buy more bank slots by converting gold to gems and such, up to a maximum of 7 slots for a total of 240 bank space. As for trading, right now there aren’t really any town clothes that fit the fancy gentlemen stereotype, not to mention so long as you stand near the a TP merchant all day you can buy and sell to your heart’s content.
Over in Brisban Wildlands there is a veteran giant who is in no way part of a quest or event. He is my single giant kill. He resides in toxal bog, near U.N.I.T’s spawn point.
Not entirely sure what you’re saying but I’ll see if I can provide an answer.
1: Discovered items cannot be “rediscovered”, they’re added to your craft list.
2: Different “tiers” of bags require different runes of holding. If you’re making a bag with a higher item tier, you will need a better rune of holding.
3: Only items that can have something be discovered from them by your profession show up in the discovery tab. No need to “discover” a recipe you can’t even use right?
Did any of those answer your question?
What’s up with those Mesmer trait numbers? Are you sending us secret code or something?
On topic, one thing tanks lack is damage, this is their balancing. Theoretically speaking, one guy specced for power+crit vs another guy specced for toughness should kill each other in about the same time, all other things equal. Condition damage also hurts tanks since they don’t usually stack tons of vitality, or are Guardians and thusly have low base HP pools. This is all I can really say since you don’t single out any particular class or skill/build.
Try running story mode again, see if that works. If that doesn’t work, then you gotta try all 3 explorable paths again. And if that don’t work, then you got a bug on your hands.
Specify your server if this is the case, I killed one this morning on Sanctum of Rall.
