Both disable movement and attacks.
Both are escaped with stun breakers.
Both are negated if you have stability.
Why have 2 forms of CC that perform exactly the same purpose?
Some of them aren’t advertising for anything specific, just that they want to run paths. Besides,if you can’t join them, make your own. A lot of people do background checks on their party mates, but never the party maker, because they just automatically assume they know what he’s doing.
Run over to where the the submarine bursts through the wall after you kill Alpha in path 1. When the submarine actually does come in, with a little bit of luck you should be able to wiggle your way to the back of the sub and get the PoI. If you aren’t afraid of Anet you could also use some dubious wall hacking to get at it.
They get stacks by hitting things. Don’t get hit=he gets no stacks to move/attack fast with.
Its not from fratcals… This weapon was in the game (Well… Lootables) before fractals came out. People were searching for it before the update
I can confirm it is in fact from Fractals. I had found mine in the reward chest for completing the Urban Battlegrounds Fractals. There’s absolutely no reason Anet would make this one particular exotic mind numbingly hard to get.
Anyone seen Infinite Light? It’s a highly stylized sword that glows when wielded, and gold dust falls off of it when in motion. It looks immensely butt-kicking, enough to make it a legendary in its own right, but it’s just an exotic. Minstrel does nothing besides look good, and even that’s debatable.
These kind of dungeons would get old really fast once people find all the traps and secrets. The only way to keep it fresh would be to randomize everytime you go in. And since dungeons typically last anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours, depending on how competent your group is, and good DnD campaigns aren’t certainly played in just a single sitting, and can always be different everytime as told by the dungeon master.
These stories are all self contained. Who is the Mossman? Why are the Grawl sacrificing humans for no real reason? Why is the raving asura living alone in his own city cube? They tell a small story with lots of unknowns.
No, they can hold other equipment to. read the description, they are like any other specialty box, it’s priority not requirement.
I think I should’ve worded it a little bit better. If I pick up a masterwork item, will it go into an exotic fractal box? I ask because right now I don’t know why they have 3 tiers of the same box size. There has to be something to differentiate them.
Bump. Anyone know the answer?
Are these boxes only capable of holding equipment that fits the box’s rarity? Cause that’s kinda stupid if it does.
Ori nodes can sometimes spawn inside the cave jumping puzzle of Malchor’s (the hard water cavern one with the power orb things, not the easy cave one with the free loot).
Coincidence + placebo I guess, I got several since then. Humans are just not good at judging statistics.
Now without math, anyway.
I just tackled Teq at level 80 and his chest dropped level 80 stuff… I know not all lower level dynamic events do this though. How do I know which ones do?
It’s the same as looting any mob in any area – for weapons/armor, whites don’t ever scale, blues very rarely scale, greens seem to have an even chance of scaling, and rares will always scale (in my experience).
Whites do scale, I’ve gotten several lv70+ whites while in low level areas. They’re just not likely to.
He means the massive, half destroyed towers that appear has elongated orange rectangle things on your map. There’s one on Grenth Island too, they’re massive.
High end exotics require gifts of _______, which require lv400 in whatever craft profession it demands of you.
I’m not talking about story mode there champ, i’m talking about exploration.
That’s what he’s talking about. Champion Gravelings drop 5-10s from their corpse alone, plus another 15s from the boss graveling, plus the 26s on the dungeon reward, and AC is easy enough to complete a path in 30 minutes, 40-50 minutes if you stop to fight trash.
Assuming ascended armor has it’s own grade of color, you could just transmute the skins upward onto ascended gear, or you could just link your gear and they can examine the stats themselves.
So, stomping through CoE, laughing at how easily dodged Alpha’s various AoE spam is, and then we get to this here guy. So, you got your three guys on the lasers, keeping the fire shield down, but the issue is that the fight is so necessarily long and drawn out it seems. You have 2 people who need to hop down, beat on him for about 5 seconds, then rush back out, then wait for the shield to go back down and do it again. Your laser guys could jump down and fight too, but then its just everyone hopping like bunnies, auto attacking for a bit, then running back, a very slow and droll tactic. Very very few weapons feature enough length to attack from a distance. The fight as a whole is immensely unwieldy to participate in as the “do damage” guy, and extremely boring for someone who’s on laser duty. Is there anyway to speed up the fight and make him die faster?
So, I have the Purity trait and Resolve for my heal. How do these 2 work together? 2 condition cleanses every 10 seconds? 2 cleanses every 20 seconds? Or do they simply not stack at all?
They don’t. A lot of items with the same icon has different looks, a quick glance into some weapon pages at the PvP locker can confirm this.
These events are going to be gone after today anyways, it was annoying because the event chains wouldn’t produce the doors sometime , meaning you had to keep huntingdown the randomly spawning haunted doors and hope they take you to the mad realm. Not fun when you spend a whole hour opening doors and you still can’t get to the mad realm.
People flipped out when a bug made mobs move out of AoEs. Mobs would detect the AoE during cast even and completely invalidate the entire attack. There was literally no point in casting an AoE skill -ever- while that bug was around.
It can’t be the GriffoonRook Run, since the jumping puzzle is populated entirely by Griffons, hence the namesake. That Air elemental seems to be in a totally isolated, un accessible spot.
If the game didn’t have levels, you’d have alot of players simply not knowing what to do, because there’s -so- much to do. A lot of people that are turned off of minecraft cite this as a reason, having absolutely no pre-set goals leaves players scratching their heads in what should be done next. Not to mention if a new player wanted to go right to Orr and started complaning about the difficulty, why is it so much harder of an area if the whole game is the same?
We all need a sense of progression and leveling does that for us. Everyone likes to see the numbers get higher, that little flash of light that occurs, that statement of “I leveled up” every race has, it’s a gratifying experience.
Just because it’s listed at 300g doesn’t mean anyone will buy it at 300g.
And just because people don’t want to buy it at 300g doesn’t mean the sellers will stop putting it up for 300g+.
See the problem here?
The fire elemental kinda stomps groups regardless, he’s pretty ridiculous for the zone he’s located in. Of course, there’s also no penalty for not killing him so if people don’t feel like it, they don’t fight him.
It can’t even be a “Race” to E-sport-ness. LoL is an e-sport, the biggest one in the world right now, supplanting even SCII as the most popular game in South Korea. It used to do balance patches every 2 weeks (they’ve since slowed down), but that didn’t affect their E-sport status. If GW2 can’t be considered an e-sport right now, I think one could expect a possibility that it might not be an e-sport ever, or at least not within the near future.
They do, albeit at an annoyingly rare rate. I’ve gotten at least 2 via drop so far.
Indeed, it’s said that Primordus now resides underneath the Wastes, and he packs literal heat, so that might have to do with it.
As for the Diessa question, that could probably be Kralkatorrik, somehow. Iunno, dragons be weird.
I think a lv80 accessory would have been nice, since those seem to be harder to replace since they’re not dropped, only crafted or bought from karma vendors.
What’s even worse is his pitiful damage potential. He can very easily and very quickly place 25 stacks of vulnerability on you, and still does pathetic damage.
At least it’s safe. I didn’t have much issue with it, all but 1 jump can be made being slowed down/in combat mode. The ones that aggravate me the most are those that can actually kill you and don’t provide a trip back to where you started. Although even with that feature I don’t think alot of peopple enjoyed Goemm’s Lab.
Playing Devil’s Advocate here Shoopa, the encounter is only 10 minutes, since that’s the timer imposed on you to defeat the priest.
But this guy is the pinnacle of zerging. People are going to die en masse, it’s inevitable, and thus you just really need a huge swarm of players to chip him down before time’s up. The level of interactivity this fight has is dependent on how often he targets you and wether or not you’re in range of banner drop. It’s a dance of death if he seems to hold a blood vendetta on you, a snoozefest if you’re ignored the whole fight.
It’s probably going to be Jormag, seeing as the Norn plan on tackling him once against once Zhaitan is dealt with. Jormag has been stomping around the Northern Shiverpeaks for awhile now. Not to mention he’s the other active Dragon; Primordus is MIA underground, and Kralkatorrik is kinda just doing his own thang, letting the Shatterer command his minions.
All risen priests aspire to be as unnecessarily powerful as Balthazar. I am genuinely sorry for low population servers that try to take him on.
Possibly also because everyone else has too much of their own issues to deal with.
Humans are in a perpetual state of war with the centaurs. Sylvari are only 25 years at their oldest, and they live for themselves, if their path leads them to war, they join the Mists Wars. Asura are dealing with inquest and the skritt, not to mention they probably feel that as a whole they’re far too superior to even consider war with such “savages”. Norn fight off the Sons of Svanir and Icebrood, occasionally tangling with Dredge and such, every Norn is out to make a name for himself, and while this does including massive amounts of battling, it doesn’t always have to be explicitly about war. The Charr are battling human seperatists, Charr renegades, the flame legion, and the ghosts of ascalon, the last thing they need is another enemy.
I think the pale tree’s magic protects them from being corrupted into risen, but I may be wildly off base here.
The risen priest of Balthazar is far too powerful for his own good, I don’t think any guild can maintain constant success status all day long, especially during their off-peak hours.
Yeah, the collectibles bank tab needs to have slots for crafted materials, such as sword blades and combined cooking ingredients and such.
Would you like new random Daily/Weekly/Monthly Achievements?

I wouldn’t mind, but so long as the reward is worth it. Monthlies give you 20 mystic coins (big whoop, they’re way cheap a pop in the TP), and a very measly amount of copper, vs the typical 4s that dailies give at lv80.
Not sure if I should take equipment crafting - looking for advice

Couple things to consider:
1: If you like to zip through the levels, crafting is gonna be completely and totally useless as you zip past gear that you can craft way faster than you can make them. With steady DE participation you can just use the various karma vendors to keep your gear up to date.
2: Tailor, Leatherworking, and Armorsmithing only produce 1 distinct “look” per craft tier, so if you’re crafting for looks, then you better hope you like the armor design, not sure about weaponsmith/artificer/huntsman.
3: Jeweler is easy to level up to lv375 but after that is becomes extremely annoying as you require ectos for all of your recipes from then on.
4: Crafting for looks is typically done via Mystic Forge, which require weird sets of materials and may or may not actually require a crafting discipline at lv400, but they look pretty cool.
5: Each armor discipline can also craft bags, which is neat, except for the larger bags which require the ridiculously expensive holding runes (2g for 18 slot places? lolno).
6: Crafting things -usually- sells at a loss, the raw material used to make them typically bring in more profit. This isn’t always the case, but most of the time it is.
I’d actually give that title to a vista in the grove, which is directly to the right of the LA portal, it’s literally impossible to not see. unless you have a deep rooted fear of rotating cameras.
The problem isn’t in players rezzing defeated players, the problem is in the obscene damage and HP pool priest of Balthazar has. This isn’t intentionally making a DE fail, as I doubt players that are rezzing defeated people are going “kitten ima make us lose” in their head, if anything it’s just unintentional. It’s like the fire elemental, trying to revive players is typically a death trap as youi get smacked in the face by his or the fire imp’s AoE spam. The only difference here is that there is now a time limit in which you can kill Balthazar if they lose. I’d reccomend increasing it to something more reasonable (MegaDestroyer gets 20 minutes, usually dies in 15), or to just dramatically lower his HP pool so that attempting to rezz fallen allies doesn’t lead to failure because those people weren’t adding to the deeps.
edit: kitten is a swear word that gets censored? lol wut?
I really wish we didn’t have to use amulets and jewels to solely determine our stat load out in PvP. They can give you 3 primary stats and 3 secondary stats, sure (not counting celestial jewels) and you can get more specific with traits, but there are people like me who like to min-max and squeeze out every ounce of efficiency we can from our characters.
I would propose putting PvP stats back onto the armors/accessories. Right-click the armor/accessory and you will be given a “select stats” option among the list. This lets you pick your primary stat and 2 secondary stats for your armor. The stat total is not changed in anyway, simply rebalanced in a method with which you prefer.
Yay? Nay?
Somebody posted Jormag's Breath of Ice sword recipe, can a player confirm?

100 orichalcum sword blades? The rest of the recipe seems legit except for that part.
Well, right now our only real “meta” to speak of is “have a Guardian”. Mesmers and Theives pubstomp, as 1v1 classes are wont to do.
People that have played multiple MMOs and any MOBA at all realize this right? The classes that do best 1v1 tend to receive the most OP complaints.
These are probably the worst DEs to break, the ones that grant access to CoF, CoE, and arah. It’s blocking off the entirety of a content area to players who want to do them.
I think that the Dragons are Lovecraftian monstrosities in almost every sense. They have their own agendas and drives which are utterly alien to us. Their mere existence is completely inimical to our form of life. They were here long before the mortal races crawled out of the primordial ooze, and they expect to still be here when the sun goes out. They are in it for the long haul while the lives of mortals flicker about them like fireflies on a dark night. Or at least, they were.
The fact that the mortal races of Tyria were able to bring down Zhaitan is a wonder; imagine a swarm of gnats suddenly dropping a bomb on you. Completely unexpected, yes but now the other Dragons know we are a threat, and that we are too dangerous to continue ignoring.
I expect Zhaitan to be the easiest Dragon to take down for this reason. He underestimated the 5 races to his own downfall. The others will be expecting us.
I’m not so sure about that, Kralkatorrik was attacked by DE and, were it not for Logan’s infamous decision, he probably was going to lose that fight and be mortally wounded/killed. And that was just 6 people, if the pact decides to bounce around Tyria like an ED-extermination service, we might just be able to spam #2 to win against these other EDs as well. I’m estimating Jormag and Primordus to be the strongest dragons, since Jormag was the only dragon that actively combatted other races (the Norn and Kodan) in order to claim his territory. Primordus’ destroyers are by far the strongest of the ED minions, and one of his champions was the boss of the original GW1, while Jormag’s, Kralky’s, and Zhaitain’s are mere world events.
