Its very lovely to see such positivity in my thread about this. I have no made the Mawdrey on both of my accounts the second one taking some time because I had to farm Bloodstone Dust…. Yes you read that I farmed dust hahaha. All in all with both experiences I ended up happy! It was nice to get the interaction with others and with the second one a few of the events had just been completed but I still found players inside the mini dungeon and willing to help with a quick Map Tele people came to my aid when I needed. It was joyous.

“New achievements will also now be available for completing Wardrobe account unlocks for the series 1, 2, and 3 minis.”

When you already have all the AP for those mini sets, will you unlock them retroactively? Because I’m sure not I’m alone when I say that I have sold all my mini’s after I unlocked the achievements related to them.

Yeah, it is total bullkitten.

Why? He sold the minis, so he doesn’t get the minis now. Makes sense to me.

Because people are silly, entitled brats who think that they must have everything handed to them retroactively when they made a decision before a feature was announced. It happened with the armor in the wardrobe too. People get over it.

And let’s not forget we’re not getting:
-fixes to the precursor market (precursor crafting) -
My Thought: Would be neat but they have said they were having trouble getting this just right. Probably so that it doesn’t ruin the market as it stands currently.

-removal of hobo sacks
My Thought: I have No Idea what this even is?

-the SAB (just turn it back on as-is!)
Content and NOT a Feature, also we don’t know why it didn’t come back only speculation abounds as to why it is.

-a real fix to cloth prices
Was Stated That the Silk thing was intended, otherwise not certain what you mean by this either.

-various camera fixes and/or first person
Also, something nice, unknown reason why its not implemented either.

As for the Leveling Changes that were made, personally I find them awesome. They are targeted changes that obviously ANet has reason to change they have numbers and information we don’t (A lot of it from my previous experiences with developing things on my own). They care about new player retention as should any and everyone out there. New Players are the lifesblood to an MMO, even if you don’t like the idea, they are in some cases even more important than the veterans of a game.

triple trouble: the power of one guild

This thread is just dumb. It is meant to be EXTREMELY difficult content. If you can’t learn how to use Teamspeak then you shouldn’t be doing this content and before anyone says that i’m some member of TTS or w.e i’m not. This content is NOT exclusive and here’s why.

I recently came back from about a 6 month break of gw2 and I have to say that this boss is the ONLY reason that I am continuing to put my time and money into this game. It has been the most fun I’ve had in this game since launch and yes, I failed more than once. Eventually I got into a world where there was actual organization going on and NO it was not TTS. It was Attuned [Att] (I think) and they were awesome! They posted their teamspeak info and I got on in less than 2 mins with ease. The fight was explained perfectly and everything went smooth. After that I decided to look more into guilds that did it frequently and found TTS. I went on their website and saw exact times for when they were doing it. I got in their ts with EASE when they were doing the event and got to their instance with EASE. There was no exclusivity and I had as good as a chance as any to participate.

TLDR: Don’t call difficult content exclusive because you have to be a little more proactive to beat it. Instead thank the people who made it possible for you to beat it IE. TTS, ATT, etc.

Just for Clarity, TTS’ TS is open to the pubic at all items except in times like when were were having our domain DDOS’d during raid set up and we had to use the various guilds for set up.

Anyone is welcome to a TTS Raid and most often TTS Members do NOT get priority entrance to maps even. They just tell you who to taxi on and you go. Simplistic as that. We often put up our TS in chats as well when we are using a certain map to get everyone on that map involved if they want to be.

I think the whole “TTS is Elitist” junk needs to die. We’re not elitist, we’re inclusive and we love seeing new faces at our raids, especially doing the harder jobs like Condi Teams, and Reflect Teams for wurm, Defense Teams/Turrets for Teq. because teaching people those jobs to ensure we have enough people to do them every raid is essential to continued success.

I’ve seen/heard of Attuned as well they seem like fantastic group of people also inclusive.

These Fights are community driven, not exclusionary. All you need to do is be willing to bunker down and learn the mechanics, there are people willing to teach you, just have to know where to look.

It’s nice and all. All that’s left is to take it one step further by ensuring that if we have a mini enabled, it would stay enabled no matter which map I go to unless I say otherwise.

Might wanna read the news thread again hun.

“Once equipped, there is a show/hide check box that summons and hides your currently equipped miniature. When shown, minis will appear next to you in every map you travel to with no further work necessary to deploy them.”

I will say this from experience, one person after Decap standing in the wrong spot too many time can ruin the win for everyone. I’ve seen it happen twice. even TTS doesn’t always succeed every map.

I manage to do this 3-4 times a week and I think out of a month I end up missing the actual kill at least 5 times.

FGS is not as huge a component as it might seem. I never see them telling people to pop it specifically not any more than any other beefy dps booster like a consumable Pet Ogre Whistle, or Ember.

Maybe the will put in a feature at some point that allowed you to toggle on and off viewing commander tags on PVE maps.

Though, to be fair there are plenty of places where having a commander tag in PVE is nice.

Ascended Back, Nope nope nope

Crafting any profession to 400 is negligible in cost, just FYI. Google gw2crafts, and you will find a very nice set of guides that use the TP API for pricing. You only need ONE of the main Armor professions at 500, however the Heat Stone itself to buy on the TP is pretty much “at cost” to buy it. Meaning if you didn’t have the materials anyway just buying the item is about the cost it would be to make it. Especially if you don’t already have a armoring crafting leveled to 500 yet. Also, these items are made for people who are looking for new things to craft. People like myself who have nothing to craft at the moment because we’ve done the work already and need something new to go for.

as for the backpiece itself, cosmetics are subjective, I personally find this item to be the best looking backpiece in the game currently and it sings perfection for my Sylvari Mesmer and matches her T3 Culti gears wonderfully.

Mawdrey 2 is the real problem

in Living World

Posted by: Paradox.1380

Paradox.1380

I want and a lot of people want a better way to dispose of their Bloodstone dust. That ability shouldn’t be coupled with a back piece.

If this is what you’re concerned with, Mawdrey II isn’t the answer, anyway. Especially since some players have this issue with a different Ascended material entirely – WvW and EotM players are likely overburdened with Empyreals.

Mawdrey II is basically as “necessary” as Ascended equipment itself (excluding their Fractal use!) – it confers one small benefit, and takes tremendous work to obtain. We don’t need it. Even if you champ farmed and got flooded in Dust, you also would have had at least a dozen times the loot you’d get from Mawdrey. Meaning that it’s increasing your overall loot by only 8%.

Treat Mawdrey II as what it is: A prestige reward for the most epic scavenger hunt of GW2. It’s nice, but it’s really no more than that, in practice.

P.S. For a REAL solution to the “ascended material abundance” issue, I’ve always thought they should be convertable in the Forge, with a recipe to the tune of [250 “A” + 250 “B” + some Forge-related material + 10 or 25 Thermocatalytics == 11-40 “C”], where A, B, and C are the three flavors of (unrefined) Ascended material. (Meaning the recipe can be used to turn surplus stacks of ANY TWO of the three into some portion of the third type.) If we still had a Suggestions forum, this would have been posted on it back in June.

A special, hard-to-make item that takes only ONE ascended resource and turns it into minor loot is not the answer you want for this, even if it is the resource most PvE-ers have in extreme surplus.

I liek this idea. Then I can turn all my Dragonite and Emp. Frags into dust and get more Gifts from Mawdrey. Because I’ve gotten some really good items from her.

Yes a player does, deserve teh better rewards. How often are you going to reandomly spawn into an alreadt T6 map? Almost never. The means the people that were on that map already MADE it T6. Trying to succeed doesn’t make you a winner.

Like I said, you don’t want to do what it takes to get to where you want to be. That is simply your problem. Why shouldn’t you have to schedule? Why shouldn’t you have to help organize? Doing the events themselves doesn’t not make up for the entire process of getting to the best reward. The lower rewards aren’t much worse so I don’t understand what the big deal is.

And yes I rep TTS 100% of the time as its my main guild, and I know the TS has been “lacking” in people in the Dry Top room, but it doesn’t stop you from going into the general chats when there isn’t a raid going on and asking if anyone wants to do Dry Top. Many of us do like to do dry top! Just because someone’s not already doing it doesn’t mean we aren’t interested. Take initiative.

This thread sounds like entitled whining. You want something, but don’t want to do the work to get it there. I’m on NA as well and in TTS and there are several days we get together and organize up. But we put the work in to make the map and then make it work. Sounds like you want to load in to a map already in progress (they are out there by the way), but you likely won’t find one because we fill the maps to keep the events running. As others said you have little wiggle room for mistakes in the events to hit Favour level 6.

The game shouldn’t put you at the best reward cycle “casually” because it takes more than casual coordination to get it there. If you want the casual matching deal with T4 and the occasional lucky T5. If you want T6 you gotta put the work in to get it there and that doesn’t include just showing up and running the events. It also requires you to communicate and get involved in setting it up and yes even scheduling a time and place where you can find the people you need.

The brackets look like 1-9 (any set will be a daily), 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and Finally 50. From what I remember 50 is the only one you don’t get a daily chest for, but they might have fixed that.

Just to comment on this, that’s not how the reward brackets are laid out. They go 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40 and 41-50. That’s why you don’t get a separate reward chest for 50, as you noted.

The confusion comes because while those are the reward brackets, the Agony brackets are instead 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50 standing alone. That means if you do a scale 10 fractal, you’re dealing with the higher tier Agony but only getting lower tier rewards.

Yes that is what I meant, sorry I typed it wrong thanks for the correction. However Agony doesn’t start until level 10 and its okay without an resistance until about level 15. Here is an Agony Chart with the numbers: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Agony_Resistance

Also here’s a good reference though: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fractals The GW2 Wiki is a wealth of knowledge.

I just wanna throw this out there if you are in the Defeated State, you should get up yourself and run back. If you are downed most often you are ressed especially in places like Teq and Wurm where the leaders usually have warriors use their War Banners, and things of the like. There are times when it is more dangerous to res a downed player than to let them be defeated while you stay alive to stay in the fray.

This game is awesome in that fact, just knowing any one can give anyone that “Healing Rub” is awesome and worth it.

I just finished the one before this, and was thinking about pursuing this one too. I kinda like the epic and long crafting and trekking around the world to get the pieces to do these things. I can’t help but think some of this isn’t a dry run for at least a component of how legendary crafting will work.

At any rate, I’m a bit intimidated by the fractal part, and want to make sure I don’t do something wrong there. Do I just need to go on 5 different days? Is there anything special I need to do to collect the item I need, or is it part of a reward chest (lower right) for completing the instance? Or is it like a big ground chest, and I don’t want to miss it? Do I need to talk to anyone at the beginning or end? Or do I really just have to solicit a group or wait until a level 1 pops up and join?

Sure hope I can get this done, the pet sounds fun.

Fractals sound more scary than they really are. The item you need from the fractals is the Pristine Fractal Relic. I twas previously only gained by brackets 10+ from the daily chest. Awhile back ANet changed that so that even the first tier got you a relic.

If you are just starting out I would suggest doing level 1, 5 different days. If you have some knowledge you can do any level 1-9 for the first, and then change it up with another in the 10-19 bracket.

It only sounds confusing because there is like with other dungeons a Bonus Daily Chest (where the Pristine Fractal Relic is given), but that Bonus chest is broken up into the different difficulty levels. A seasoned Fractals Vet can get all 5 Relics easily in one day.

The brackets look like 1-9 (any set will be a daily), 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and Finally 50. From what I remember 50 is the only one you don’t get a daily chest for, but they might have fixed that.

If you don’t have a group of friends or a guild willing to teach you Fractals people like me set up LFGs at level one that look like “lfm Level 1, Patience Requested as we are Teaching New People” these are the best ones to join in. If you if you are really scared feel free to PM me in game and I will see what I can do about a teaching run for you.

Please don’t derail my thread with your complaints. There are two other threads about that. This thread is about my journey in getting this item and the fact that this is one of the first new scavenger hunts that was actually in depth to the point where I actually find myself attached to the item.

I will say this though, every component that needs “crafting” for this item is purchasable on the TP. I priced it out for my second account doing from the first version to the third version is about 80-90 gold if you are only buying the components that you would otherwise have to craft. Furthermore, there is only one bit that takes level 500 crafting (the heat lamp which is about 20gold to buy). The others require only level 400 which is significantly cheaper.

A final note that I forgot to mention in my story above; Thank You so much for putting to use older items like Charged Quartz that I had just piling up haha. I love it when you mix new and old crafting components. Its engaging.

Awesome story! I want the devs to know that good ideas will be recognized by the majority of players (obviously not everyone can be pleased…). Audrey just happens to be one of these amazing ideas.

Yeah! That is why I wanted to tell my story. This also gives me hopes for future things. Imagine if Precursor crafting did something like this? Only on a bigger more epic scale. That would make it fun to get and keep its value on the TP (especially if you make the crafted precursor a account bound item). Oh, the possibilities are endless! And I do enjoy the fact that it is making crafting even more important but it doesn’t restrict non crafters. They just have to buy some extra items really. I am working on it now on my second account. I ended up buying most of the stuff for that one instead since I don’t have many crafting disciplines leveled there and I’m impatient with a lot of money. So I like that I can just buy some of it off the TP but that doesn’t take away from the “hunting” of things since that is afterward.

I just got finished with all of the steps to create this lovely little creature. When I first found out about it my first thought was “ooh a pretty plant for my Sylvari Mesmer!” So that was my motivation.

The first parts were admittedly a little tedious and kinda boring, but then I got up all of the components to make it and that was when I got my first taste of connection to it. Crafting this took me to several maps and I got to revisit old places I did with friends/guildmates back in the day. Needless to say it was a trip down memory lane, and while I was meandering down that lane I ran into some people doing what I was doing.

This is where it gets a little weird for me, as I am generally a solo player (now that my old guild fell apart due to internal reasons), I whispered one of the people who seemed to be having trouble. Along the way we ended up having to do all the escort and pre-events to all the mini puzzles and such. This person and I ended up partying up! I had so much fun doing it too and we ended up with a large group toward the end. We decided to not just stop at the components. We finished the whole thing, cheering each other on, helping each other figure it out.. for the first time in awhile I put down my Solo player mentality and opened up to find that despite my run ins with some bad seeds (pun intended) recently, this game and its community are filled with awesome people!

It made me stop focusing on my end goal for once, and instead I ended up just having a lot of fun. The journey to get there was just as rewarding as the end product! I’m glad I didn’t let the daunting task of its steps prevent me from accomplishing this.

tl;dr: I love this aspect of creating an item! It not only attached me to the item (and the little shop of horrors homage tugs on my nerdy side), but also it gained me a couple new friends. I generally enjoyed my time making it and now I am proud to have done it. Thank you ANet, whoever dreamed this up is really on to something!

Looks at WvW

Looks at sPvP

Looks at precursor crafting

Looks at official GvG game-mode

Looks at guild capes and guild halls

Looks at new zones and dungeons

Looks at new weapon, utility, and elite skills

Looks at slow and almost non-existent balance updates

Ok Mark.

Umm…

Two WvW tourneys, WvW skill progression paths, Competitive and casual WvW rewards, new score mechanic added to the existing map, new map added.

Three new maps added, 48 new traits, eight new skills, two major reorganizations of matchmaking and tourneys and many smaller ones.

Given

They never made any indication they were going to add GvG, your expectations not being met does not show a lack of work on their part. And they’ve added two new zones as well as smaller areas to six existing zones.

Same as above

A new dungeon, with dozens of paths, two paths added to existing dungeons. Dungeon rewards revamp.

They stated new weapon, utility, and elite skills would be a long way off. Your impatience, is your own fault.

Eh, admit I kind of agree with this one. Nonetheless you still have zero logical basis for stating they have done nothing, because they have done balance updates, just not enough for your liking, or mine.

Don’t forget in WvW, they reworked the borderlands, they changed up how Enemy activity is shown on the maps, improved Loot drops to bring them in line with other forms of the game.

They added Custom Arena’s to Spvp then turned them fro ma gem shop item to a in game item. They changed the way you get rewards in spvp as well to give them more ability to add new things for people to work on.

They added space for Unofficial GvG’s to the Obsidian Sanctum JP area of WvW.

So much more was added to PvE the game doesn’t even play remotely to how it used to in the beginning (in a very good way).

I really feel like going through every update not and cataloging the Content Changes to this game so that I can copy and paste it to every person who says ANet has done “nothing” in two years.

2 years is a long time for an MMO not to release anything.

I think you are mistaken. We have released content and features in the last two years on a fairly regular basis. Just because the content and/or features were things that you personally did not particularly care for doesn’t mean we didn’t release anything.

Please don’t trivialize the efforts of our design and development staff down to “nothing” because you didn’t like it. It’s fine to comment that you didn’t care for what was released, but don’t pretend like we’ve done nothing here for the past two years.

I’ve been saying this for so long. Thank you, Mark. THANK YOU! I have loved a ton of what ANet has put out over the last few years. You guys really have that QoL Thing down, and some of the awesome festivals and rewards. I cant’ get over it. I genuinely appreciate all your efforts.

ps. I so want this as my signature now, lol.

Colin, I would love this. I am someone who generally understands and supports your team and everything being that I talk to Mike Z and a couple others in game time to time. I totally get you all are still human and love your game as much as me. But this is a fantastic idea, I would love to see something like this just as a general baseline to know what is cooking even in the most base sense. Please do something like this.

How you choose to use your time is up to YOU. You cannot tell me that I have to feel how you do (as the OP clearly did telling me I should open my eyes and see what all is wrong when I actually don’t agree with what they think is wrong).

Fact is this is a pick up and put down game. You don’t have to put thousands of hours in if you don’t want to. See the point here is that you WANT to do something, and if you want it you have to do it the way its implemented in the game, or you don’t get it. Why is that a bad concept?

In Wow I want the best gear, not gonna get it if you don’t do Raiding….. even if you HATE raiding. (just using it as an example, I don’t play WoW so I don’t know exactly how it works that’s just how I heard)

In GW2 I actually HATE the way precursors are handled. As such its the reason I don’t have a legendary in the game. It’s never hurt me to not have a legendary. I simply didn’t do it yet. When and if ANet changes how it is gotten I may get my legendary. But I’m not about to come on here and yell, scream, throw things and tell people they HAVE to agree with me simply because I dislike how something was handled. I might make a thread about how to make it better, or reply to a CDI about said subject… but in a suggestive and constructive manner. Not a whiny one.

We are in different player segments. That’s OK. Nothing I have said invalidates you, your playstyle, or the segment of players you are part of. By the way, we agree on precursors and legendaries: I have neither.

Please do me the same courtesy. In order to outfit the three professions I primarily play in Ascended gear, I have played a lot of content I love, but some content I truly detest. As you say about WoW raiding, that was what it took to get that BIS gear, which I needed in order to attack content I did want to play.

Anet needs to make difficult choices between player segments, because the financial model of GW2 (buy to play plus gem store) is not providing enough income to evolve the game in support of all playstyles. This is reality. Within that reality, it’s OK for you to advocate that resources be spent on content you enjoy, and for me to advocate that resources be spent on content I enjoy. That I would advocate something different than you do invalidates neither of us, and I hope both of us have the maturity to accept such differences.

You’re the one that responded to me when my post was towards the OP telling me how I should feel and that I should do what they are doing or I am a Mindless fangirl who sees ANet as Gods….

Neither of which is true I just happen to have a different approach and yeah I’ll be an outlier and say I actually, truly love this game and many things about it.

I don’t’ think ANet is struggling at all, and I think there is a reason we aren’t seeing sweeping changes to the world. I don’t know what that reason is, but I believe it is there. I also know that they don’t HAVE to cater to everyone’s play styles. No other game does. You play what you are given.

Also, I have 15 characters between two accounts, all of which are geared to do endgame content. Only one has Ascended because there is no need to Ascended for anything in this game except late-mode Fractals. You are allowed to gear up your toons that way but no one is forcing you at all.

I don’t feel voicing complaints gets ANYTHING done when its not constructive. Especially when its just whining about things you hate but NEVER any ways to improve what you don’t like. That is your problem, not mine. I don’t have to hate it. I also don’t base my opinion on the health of the game based on the minute amount of people that use the forums.

I highly doubt this game is going anywhere, so go ahead and leave. The whole forums of people could leave and I doubt there would be much of a difference actually in the game. A lot of it stems also from the fact that a large portion of people that post on the forums whining still play the game on a regular basis.

Then why do you frequent the forums?

Why do you bother to respond to these threads?

I’m using the past as indication of what happens to MMO’s – I’ve been around this block so many times before, with Warhammer Online, Rift, and lots of others.

Will GW2 end up the same? Or can it beat the odds?

My feedback amounts to this: in order to beat the odds, Anet, you have to produce a lot more NEW content.

Recycling stuff (i.e., livid story) doesn’t really count – not that it was the worst thing you could have done – it’s ok – but because it’s not enough.

More maps (entire regions).
More dungeons.
Etc.

You’ve seen my laundry list.

That’s what will keep this game in the Top 10 – maybe even Top 5.

More content, and nothing less.

It’s my privilege same as your to come and post and read. I come here to offer my own insights. More More More doesn’t make anything better. People will always complain and about everything. Also I don’t know why you are complaining AT me. I never once actually singled you out other than they fact that you are hijacking someone else’s thread to complain more.

How about you just leave and let me stay where I want to stay? I play multiple games so I don’t have to worry about what this game does or doesn’t do. I don’t understand why people are always “this is MY game is it has to be EVERYTHING i could ever want in a game or its just not good enough and I am taking my toys and leaving the playground so NEENER!” That is honestly what this thread sounds like. Maybe play some different games at the same time? Its not like this game requires significant time sinks to get places. If you don’t like one thing about this game find another game that offers that, but don’t begrudge someone else’s feelings if they don’t share your own. I happen to adore GW2 and all that if offers. If it doesn’t give me something I need from a game, I find one that does, but the fact is GW2 offers a lot more than you give it credit for. Also as a side note: ANet adds A LOT to their games as far as QoL and Story goes, just because you didn’t like the way it was delivered doesn’t mean you get to say it never happened at all.

As a customer, I need to invest about a thousand hours in a game before I have learned the world, found the right class/profession for my main, and become proficient at playing that main.

This isn’t about neener-neener, it’s about I made that investment based not just on the game at release but also based on expectations which were set at release as to how it would evolve.

Those expectations are, in the words of a certain historical U.S. presidential administration, “no longer operative.”

So the question is, do I cut my losses and go invest the thousand hours over again somewhere else.

Glad the current direction of GW2 meets your needs and the expectations you have of the game.

How you choose to use your time is up to YOU. You cannot tell me that I have to feel how you do (as the OP clearly did telling me I should open my eyes and see what all is wrong when I actually don’t agree with what they think is wrong).

to much much whinning i agree with

but when you say arena net is doing " everything they can" to work on living world and such just isnt true they have a few small teams i think at max 25 people (remember reading somewhere, may be different now i dont know) out of there 400 employees

the staff to content ratio just dosnt make sense.
from what we have heard they are all split into teams to do with there content
i dont know about you but i havnt seen much from the dungeon team or even much change in the world events (which were originally supposed to change from day to day) I still have hope that theres something better because i love the universe of this game and the play style
but theres just not enough content to keep me hooked like other games

Maybe… just maybe there’s a reason for it “not making sense” They don’t have to tell YOU what they are doing. You bought and paid for the boxed game as it ships. Anything else added on is extra, and not something you can demand,

I don’t know about the company but posts like this have been floating up every week for the last 2 years in this game and for years in every other game I have played. So pretty much business as usual.

What an ignorant comment, and it’s false for one. In guild wars 2 it’s happening more frequently, compared to games i’ve played in the past. The reason is because other game release expansions/new content that majority wants ( big new dungeons ). These “wow factors” draw attention away from the, “i’ve been staring at the same thing over and over.. Boring.” mentality and into the, “Cool stuff that is new to me, exciting to explore”.

Don’t believe me? Look at the mmorpg gaming industry. Guild wars 2 has trouble because there aren’t enough distractions.

Another game I am in Beta for has Forums that already say the game is dead and is NOTHING but complaints… the game isn’t even outta Beta yet… so yeah no, This is Business as usual for forums.

I have two Accounts…

Pros: For me its Double Everything that is “Daily”. Double Dungeon Runs (especially the fast ones), Double Boss Hunting Loot Chests, Things like that. I bounce Materials and Monies back and forth. I invested in 500 Crafting one my main account and 400 Crafting in the other, so I easily can make time gated mats two times, I can easily send over my mats to my main account for things like Ascended crafting.

Cons: Having to log back and forth or accidentally logging into the wrong one sometimes gets me hahaha. Also, don’t Dual-Box it can get annoying and really isn’t worth it. I don’t play them at the same time I play one and then the other.

Really, its all in personal preference.

@Protoavis: I don’t think so? I’ve had both of my accounts since head start and I don’t ever recall being banned once for mailing myself stuff back and forth…And even if that DID happen I would just submit a ticket to support explaining what happened (its easy enough to prove you own both accounts), also there are 3 accounts on my ISP (multiple family play) and we mail back and forth all the time. In fact my family has on more than one occasion loaned me 200+g at a time and I’ve mailed it back with no problems.

Paradox.1380

Thats an entirely different argument though being theres no Gear Check system in teh game itself. Personally, I do what is needed based on the content I am wanting to play at the time, but what I was saying is that Zerker is a niche gear for niche contents. Not everyone farms dungeons all day, and outside of dungeons where is Zerker gear absolutely needed? IMO even in Non-zerker groups the difference in clear times is a few minutes at the longest. The real key is understanding the content and knowing when and where to properly place your skills and DPS, as well as keeping up with when and where to use your defensive and dodge abilities. Dead men do no DPS regardless of gear.

This whole Zerker or GTFO has gotten outta hand and people run with it. There are places where being totally zerker is the right thing, but its not always. Also, carrying a couple non-zerkers has never been a problem for me. You barely notice in some cases. I’ve accidentally not switched gear after killing Teq one time on my Ele… Didn’t even notice until the end of all 3 paths of AC that I was still wearing my Knights gear.

The problem is not about needs for wearing zerker gear, it is about people asking for zerkers and we having liars who want to get carried in their nomad instead.

I pug all the time and i join “all welcome” group and speed runs indiscriminately. but when i have very little time before going out, i don’t want to see nomad-specced players. and somehow, playing zerker the way i wanted is wrong because carrying others is more important.

I think you mis-read what I wrote there. Maybe read it again.

People asking peopel to wear zerker gear can get around that by asking people to link their gear upon entering the party if they care absolutely that much about it. Also, how many peopel wiht Nomad’s gear do you actually know? Nomads gear isn’t all that hard to get, no but it certainly takes more effort than some other stat combos. Besides even Soldiers and Cleris gear have the Power stat on them making them pretty good outside of High Crits for anything. But like I said if you can’t PLAY in zerker gear you’ll be downed and dead (which by far outweighs any lack of DPS because it requires others to STOP DPSing to res you or for you to get up when we’re outta combat.). Also, not everyone plays dungeons every day and outside of dungeons there is NO other place I can think of where Zerker is the best gear. Open World doesn’t really count since you can kill mobs easily and quickly in almost all gear types.

No one is making you get this item. Its not needed for anything, at all. Complaining about something you don’t need is dumb. Since its not Forced. Forced would imply that you need to item to do something important… and you don’t need it for anything. Also, no one is stopping you from actually doing it other than personal reasons.

You’re right, no one is making me get this item. But I WANT IT BADLY. And when you want something badly, you’ll do almost anything to get it. Almost. Everything. Almost. Emphasis on almost.

Trust me, I have done MANY things that have taken me out of my comfort zone. Probably more than most players. But fractals I will NEVER do again. I gave it multiple go’s but still hated it – why can’t people just accept that I don’t like it?

And sorry but I am being forced to do content I don’t like. Tell me, is there another way to get the Mists Stone? No. So stop telling me I’m being lazy and just need to suck it up people.

Like I have said, multiple times, but I will repeat myself…

I am more than willing to put in the time and effort, just give me another way to get the Mists Stone. Same difficulty. Different Method.

I am more than willing to put in the time and effort, just give me another way to get the Mists Stone. Same difficulty. Different Method.

I am more than willing to put in the time and effort, just give me another way to get the Mists Stone. Same difficulty. Different Method.

Hope that sinks in now. And hopefully people will stop accusing me of being lazy. How would you like it if you were forced to do something you absolutely despise with a passion, and then get a ton of players claiming you’re lazy? Wtf? They obviously didn’t read my posts…

Either way, I’m just going to leave this thread. Too many people claiming I’m lazy and that I just need to get with the program without even realising my point of view or reading my posts fully. Thanks to those who actually understand things from my perspective – especially those who do fractals.

For now, I’m done. Anet probably won’t change a thing and I will just have to learn that in the future, if there is something I want, I will just have to leave it for a few weeks and wait to investigate what it requires before attempting to get it, because I might be extremely disappointed with the acquisition of it, especially if it forces me to do content I don’t like, such as fractals – I hate it so much in fact, that I’d rather stick my head in a fat vat. I know what the trolls are thinking “Don’t start people pleasing now”. Don’t worry, I’m not coming back to my thread.

Sorry to burst your entitlement bubble, but not getting something because you don’t like one component of how to get it is silly, trivial and you can complain and whine all you want but it only makes you look bad. Fractals may be something you don’t’ enjoy, but if you want the thing you want and it requires you to go into fractals… suck it up buttercup. There is NO reason for them to bend over. If that was the case man oh man would I have some things for them to change about acquiring some of the things -I- want….

To create contents that can be cleared by all kinds of gear set would be too easy.

If they changed core game design where mobs deal lots of chip damage, it would really hurt zerkers and reward bunker play style.

If they changed game design where mobs have tons of toughness and armor, this will hurt every playstyles except conditions.

the best way to do is to create encounters one after another that benefits different play-styles. but then people will complain about the needs for different gear/constant trait reset. (not even going to talk about elitisms).

They already have started doing this. The Wurm boss in Bloodtide Coast needs all kinds of different Stat set ups because the different mobs there do different things. I imagine as they go forward they will do this more and more.
