“What Part Of Living Says You Gotta Die?
I Plan On Burnin Through Another 9 Lives”
Another one, when I am in a party with another Guardian I always watch their skills and their icon in the party UI to see how often they actually use their virtues. I cannot stand when Guardians don’t use their virtues effectively.
So. Flippin. Cute. Hamfast!
Keep at it, someday one persons mind might change. Also, very interesting information to think on about the health of the game. I was pleasantly surprised indeed. Not that I thought the game was in any danger really, just the amount of people saying they leave, and the amount of people I see still online often now that I think about it is quite sharp.
Those are the person who are severely addicted, probably have a few thousands playing hours and wondering why they felt the game getting staled.
The problem I have with these sort of tools is very few people even use these tools. Xfire is pretty much saying there are only 50 concurrent players that is using xfire and playing GW2 at the same time.
And raptr and overwolf never even release how many data they manage to collect per month, that’s why people discredit them.
I’mn talking about people on this forum that shout to the mountains that they are quitting, have quit, etc. I have started putting several of them on my Friends List just to watch and I am amazed at people that I see online A Lot. Not just intermittently like that are checking.. but on for hours at a time and often.
I pug everything. For the longest time I was never in a guild except TTS and they aren’t that active in guild chat. Not that I mind because I am often in their TS when I have some quiet hours at home.
But yeah, I love to Pug most everything because it makes it so I don’t have to wait for friends. For some reason runs take much longer when I do it with friends. Though I will do runs with friends when they ask, lol.
I must say, I’ve been following this thread actively. Simply for the sheer fact of it that people automatically say the opposite of Vayne no matter what. This is highly amusing. You cannot provide evidence of why you believe what you do, so instead you try to discredit Vayne who is firing back with the evidence of why he thinks as he does.

I don’t know, LOL. Also, Nice one. I’ve solo’d Anomaly more than once because people refuse to listen about not going near others when they have the bomb over their heads.
The same for Shaman Fractal when people with the Fire Bubble didn’t dodge but then spread their fire to others. At higher levels this is highly annoying.
I’m a bit of a fractals snob. =(
Nah, shame on you! I like coaching people through it, in a Guild that mostly consist of casuals, so they don’t know the content as well. My default mode to explain it to them on every run.
I can’t help myself. Also, I love running where I never have to explain anything, but I tend to do it anyway, but at Fractals 30+ It is annoying when people do it wrong. Hahaha. You should know by now, you have to do 30 fractals before this you’ve had your time to learn. I teach when I do low level daily fractals though.

BG takes a break after Tournaments. You’d know this if you logged on the Server TS. Also, 1am GMT is totally not close to NA Prime time and it is mid-week. many people are at work. There is a lull in WvW when there is events going as well.
So you see there are many factors to why it is “dead” as you call it in WvW.

Marry me?
Perfect!
Except with exception to the Norn part. Asuran master race FTW!
lololol. Marry You? =O What makes you ask that, praytell?
Also Asuras are okay, but I still find them to be creepy little aliens? =) I don’t mind Aliens though.
Simply because Anti meta is so fun but also that pretty much all of your “confessions” agree with me quite well.
PM me in game sometime, I cant’ guarantee marriage. But at least fun will be had! I never turn down opportunities for new friends. =)
Moar Confessionz:
1. I often seek out in-game romance/partnerships because I love having someone else to play the game with that is just us. I love pugging others in dungeons and events while we carry on with our inside jokes. It never hurts to have a partner.
2. If you get defeated in a dungeon or the party wipes I won’t “purposefully” down myself just so we can reset. I will actively try and best the encounter on my own. If you all wouldn’t have wiped it wouldn’t have been a problem.
3. I tend to judge people based on how they make their characters look. And despite doing it on occasion myself I dislike when people make skimpy outfits.

1. I generally enjoy teaching new players how to do things and I will take any appropriate level into a dungeon…Most of my friends think I’m rather “Elitist” because I speed clear all the things all the time.
2. I run non-meta builds on purpose with classes people think are rubbish just to see if people say anything or kick me. You’d be surprised at how little this actually happens.
3. to supplement this I take GREAT GREAT pleasure when someone who has expressed negativity toward me for playing something “different” dies/gets downed/generally messes up and I do flawlessly. Mostly this happens in fractals when the party wipes and I finish off the boss/encounter solo just because I know the actual mechanics.
4. I got a Second account and when the NPE came out I pretended to be completely new to the game and I used map chats and party chats etc. to ask questions I knew the answers to just to see if people would troll me or help me. You’d be amazed what you can learn about a community when you do this. Long story Short: I made some cool friends. The experiment lasted until I got my first 80 and anyone who went out of their way to help me, the day I turned 80 I sent everyone who was nice to me 25g and told them the truth. (a funny story about my second account – When the game started there was a mix-up with Gamestop (they over sold the CEs in my area) and when ANet Temp-Banned me because I didn’t have my proper key yet (ended up waiting 6 weeks extra) after the 5-day grace period I bought a second account. I never played it after I got this account back until the NPE )
5. I flirt with every Male Norn I see… I love norns.
6. I loathe people who call anyone by their class and not their name. In return I always will type out someones name when I am talking to them.
7. I prefer to pug than run with friends when I am having a bad day so I don’t accidentally hurt their feelings.
8. If you assume I am a male when you talk to me I will correct you that I am indeed a female, and I will generally dislike you for awhile. No idea why I do this it just irks me to know end.
9. I loved Living World Season 1,and I found Scarlet to be a fantastic villain that tugged on my personal love of The Joker.
10. I genuinely love to have “link Parties” in Map chat, Party chat, Guild Chat, any chat! I love when people start linking random things they have. And I love linking back. I enjoy the conversations it spawns and the cool people I meet. I am actually happy when I see someone who got a cool drop at a boss/event and I always “grats” them, and I hope that those same people are happy to grats others that do the same.
11. I say my main is my guardian but that is only because no one questions me on my guardian. I actually love to play my Necromancer more than anything else.
12. I made my mesmer simply to port random people to teh ends of JPs.
13. I ask for help/donations in Map Chat on LA regularly on a unknown character alt. When people send me money I send it back + more.
14. my best weapon (foefire’s essence) was given to me but I sometimes lie and say I crafted it myself =/

With the basic Non-expanded space you are given you can have 100 slots of inventory space if you have all size 20 bags. There are many awesome crafted (hidden) recipes for neat types of Bags:
- Basic — No special properties
- Craftsman’s Bags — Looted crafting material is placed here first. Tailor only. Their contents do not move when inventory is sorted.
- Oiled Packs — Looted junk is placed here first. Leatherworker only. Their contents do not move when inventory is sorted.
- Equipment Boxes — Looted weapons and armor are placed here first. Armorsmith only. Their contents do not move when inventory is sorted.
- Invisible Bags/Safe Boxes — Items in these bags can be sold neither to merchants nor at the Black Lion Trading Company. Their contents do not move when inventory is sorted. Using ‘Deposit Collectibles’ will not affect items inside invisible bags; items individually can still be deposited using the right-click menu.
^from the GW2 Wiki
Cheap/Easy to Obtain 20 Slot Bags – Current Halloween Event. Fractals Boxes are very cheap if you do fractals. You also are given various bags from Personal Story I know I got a few 8 slots this was on alts.
Certain events in low level areas (Killing Boar in Queensdale for example) give free 4 sloters and you can easily craft 8 slotters right away from level 0 of any crafting Discipline.
I would say that they are very generous with bag size in this game and there are many ways to get bags of various sizes and types.
Here’s the Wiki Page for Bags that has lots of cool info on how to get them: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bag
Sure new players may not know all of this but when they get introduced to crafting they will likely notice it.
Suppression seems to be bugged at times. However; varying what you are saying in map and common chats seems to prevent it from happening very often.
the AP Caps are there for Achievement Hunter Leaderboards. Not new people. It was said somewhere on this forum awhile back.
I rant into a Norn tonight in MKL, named Nigel Nornbeary
I laughed… outloud.
I got to admit, its taking a little to long to re-implement a “custom” feature we already had……
Maybe they lock the old thread in hopes everyone forgets about it. It worked with the fractal reset for the leaderboard.
No its because they answered the problem of that thread. There were/are problems with the leaderboards and how they function. It is tabled. Thus the thread is byebye.
I can’t complain much about it, I almost have this achievement done because I had a personal Achievement a long time ago when the Wardrobe came out to get every Karma, Dungeon, and Cultural skin in the game. I don’t worry about it too much I find when you don’t focus on it and just do dungeons here or there while you do other things tokens really stack up.
I can get almost 7k AC tokens doin’ all paths each day in one month. All paths of AC takes maybe 45 minutes to an hour with a good team. Better with a great team. A little worse with a bad one. The same goes for most of the other dungeons, there are only a few that take significant time. Arah has been a kittene for me, but I am about 67% finished with that one. Just a few more weapon skins left.
I don’t think it should be changed because its not that bad you get 180 tokens a day if you do all paths of a single dungeon. That’s one full set of armor in a week. It’s meant to be a long-term Achievement.

Pro tip. Take a break. I skipped a day of play and got an Endless Bat Tonic from a single stack of ToTs after just a few minutes upon my return. Deminishing returns is bound to kick in. Whether your farming the laberynt or just standing around in LA opening bags all day.
Bags do not trigger Dimishing Returns. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Diminishing_returns
It only appears to be DR to some players, because the more they click, the more their brains tell them they should have gotten something good by now.
Taking a break for personal mental doubt reasons is another thing entirely. And yes if you feel upset and "grr’ after opening a ton of bags and getting nothing. Do take a break it will recharge you. The mental fatigue when you really want something is part of how Gambling Addicts have trouble not spending all their money. =/
1. That’s a TON of time to spend in the game.. that’s actually supporting their process.
2. This game is DESIGNED to be able to step away and do other things.
3. It’s not a crime to play another game. This MMO is not like the rest where they make you feel like you have to spend all your free time here or you might miss something.
4. Its all personal preference on what you do. I personally enjoy WvW and EoTM in sparse spurts to supplement my overall enjoyment of the game.
What do you hope to gain by boycotting? And what are you boycotting exactly? This confuses me greatly. I am not sure what you want to accomplish.

Not Keeping the Text here because its sickening-Paradox
Woah now…. there’s enough of this happening for real. Lets NOT talk about this crap on here. That’s just very wrong and way uncalled for considering what happened on Friday here in the US.
Zuzu is currently at about 17g on the market, right? :P
Well yeah, but its always nice getting something you want from where it’s generated from instead of just throwing gold at the problem.
The main way to get the Cat is Candy Corn Cobs form the merchant, not the bags. Its a bonus form the bags. What people are talking about is the Mini Ghost Wolf that is the actual thing most people want from teh bags that they arent’ getting.
Update: at 30k bags opened, No Wolf =(
Show me a MMO where their forums aren’t full of people shouting and complaining about this, that or the other.. or saying that the game is dying and I’ll give you a Spicy Pumpkin Cookie. Every forum for every MMO I have ever played has been a cesspool of negativity… regardless of the reasons. Those games aren’t dead or dying, but you’d think so based on the forums.
1 – It’s Their Game.
2. They are advertising in a very non-intrusive way an event they have going this week.
3. Just ignore it. It’ll be gone when the event is over.
There was a way to do it with a Command Line Argument for awhile. But one of the updates to the client disabled it.
Windows 7, 64 bits, thank you for suggestions but the problem isn’t on this end.
I’m going to level with you, I believe its server overloading problem , not user end. I made topic this way playfully. Hoping that more people would testify to how bottle necked the service can get during prime time, and get some attention to the problem.
I dont’ think its a game-side issue or WAY more people would have problems.
I am running on a crappy lap top and I never have problems with the game as far as disconnects go. Not even on Wurm or Teq.
There may be a combination of something with your computer and how it talked to GW2 though. I don’t have any real solutions since I don’t have this problem, but I do wish you luck on figuring it out.
5k ToT bags in, I am addicted. Do Want this puppy. I don’t care so much that its RnG. Jsut gimme lol.
Goodluck. I know from personal experience that GW2 Customer Support is one of the best in this industry. They are super awesome. I really hope they can help you!
@fellyn: They can confirm it. Everything is in their knowledge. They can see if you forged, sold, destroyed, or got anything in the game. The game logs every. single. thing. that happens to everyone.
Doesn’t change the fact that it shouldn’t be reimbursed when he did it to himself.
I can understand if there was a glitch or something that resulted in it disappearing from his inventory but that isn’t the case.
I wasn’t commenting on your opinion about whether or not he should get it back. My comment at you was directed at the fact that you stated that ANet couldn’t do something. That is not true, they can, and they have. My case was one of them. It was almost similar to this, only it was T3 Cultural Armor I accidentally Transmuted in a wrong direction back before they updated the icons and they all looked basic. ANet sent me a new Chest skin. Everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes you can get help and others you have to chalk it up to a “learning experience” and move on. There is nothing wrong with supporting someone in getting help and answering their questions. You are fully allowed your opinions but don’t push your opinions on me or use silly arguments like “It doesn’t chance the fact.” All I did was address the part of your post about what ANet can and can’t do when it comes to lost items.
Google trends or not, the simple fact right now is that game never felt that empty. Day after start of Halloween, 10 ppl doing Mad King says, dead chat and ~2 not full maps farming Lab at evening. This is new and imo, no matter how you look at it, it’s not a good sign.
You were probably in a new or older Map thread. At any given time there are TONS of maps open for major hubs like LA. Just saying what you experience is not necessarily the experience of others.
Goodluck. I know from personal experience that GW2 Customer Support is one of the best in this industry. They are super awesome. I really hope they can help you!

In a player driven economy, the demand of an item surpassing the supply generated by the playerbase will increase the value of it. While there are some items in these bags that are not based around cosmetics (the low drop rate of T6 mats), the price of these bags is directly relative to the cosmetic value that is being placed on them. While currently profitable, that profit is derrived directly from other players and their willingness to play a higher price. In essence, this is a transfer of wealth not wealth generation.
As far as this specific spawn of ambients is concerned, it’s definatly one of the faster ones to farm. As long as the playerbase is willing to pay for that item, and the demand remains higher than the supply, it will be profitable. This is not an exploit, it’s the playerbase saying “thank you for farming this, because we didn’t want to”.
Can’t say I’m surprised at that response. Most players did the dungeon like normal but a very small percentage got lucky and found out about this before they did it. Now they get to reap the rewards while everyone else is out of luck. In Anet’s eyes it must be deemed okay since its not everyone using it but just a few players. Ignore the fact they get to make massive bank on it while everyone else is basically out of luck.
Anet has already shown they don’t really like to give everyone a even playing field, be it this patch or past ones. Either remove the critters the first time you enter or give us a option to re-play it. If you deem this as a non exploit then we all should have the chance to do it.
This is just silly because there are other places with almost as many ambient creatures in the world.
What were you doing that it took you 30 minutes to reach level 4? Just out of curiosity. You are level 2 within about a minute because the starting story instance gives you a whole level. Uncovering bits of the first map you will level again very shortly and all maps 1-15 have a heart very near where you start out, putting you at level 3 when its done. One more heart or a couple of vistas or PoIs or maybe a little event which there are many fast cycling events in the low zones and you are 4. All in about 5 minutes tops.
If you do hearts or any events at all they are about 1 level a piece of experience until level 15.
Also if you want to do story you can craft your way to 80 rather easily and quickly.

I have tons of fun. So nope not done here. there is so much I want to do. So many friends to play with. Assuming based on some backlash that all people hate something is a little harsh. I really wish people wouldn’t lump everyone together to justify doing something.
Go where you have fun, that is the most important part. I have fun here so I think I will stay.
I am not positive but the person that I seen had it in LA told me when I asked that they got it from the Exotic Trick or Treat Champion bag from the Legendary Monsters.
You mean people are actually killing the champs? I’ve been in the Labyrinth for the past 2 hours and seen all of maybe 6 other people total, all just running around doing small door events while fleeing in terror every time the Labyrinthine Horror comes around. I’m rather surprised honestly, day 1 and already deserted? Figured people would be down doing achieves at the very least. Especially if there’s exclusive loot from the legendary bags.
Horror and Grand Viscount are ‘worth’ killing. Lich not so much. Horror seems to not have as much health as others so he can be burned down pretty quick. Viscount doesn’t take too long either. Lich on the other hand is too much of a pain, due to all the skeletons and their retaliation.
Opened over 10k standard ToTs so far, still no mini. Got an Endless tonic though so I guess it’s not all bad.
I’m inclined to believe they don’t actually drop from them.
How the kitten do you already have 10k ToT bags? And how does your hand not bleed from clicking that many times (unless you bound left click to mouse scroll, which shouldn’t be against ToS, one action per button press)
Lich is VERY easy to down. Melee Him, Have people bring their Stun Breaks/Stabilities. Have others bring they Boon Ripper (Null Field, etc) for the Skeletons. We burned him down with a decent zerg within 3 minutes.
1 Year from now I’ll still be logging on to play with my friends enjoying the new things that have come out however it may be. Not all of us share peoples concerns about delivery. I happen to enjoy Living World, and I happen to enjoy the game as it stands right now.
“@Paradox.1380
I agree that the NPC that offers them is allready full, however the choice of weapons is still weird.
I could agree to holiday items, since they are coming back year after year, but this choice is cutting of actual content from the game, which at this point where lots of people is pleading for content being ingame is kinda counterproductive, don`t you think?”
I think that they will probably bring them back some day. Maybe in a different means? Who knows. All I know is that this is a common practice for them to take out older skins to make room for newer ones. Only a couple of the categories are tied to actual holiday events (Wintersday, Halloween). The others are mostly random or tied to special events themselves from Living story (Jade Dragon, Fused, Scelerite, etc).
If the only way to get them was to buy them from the trading post then yeah, it would suck. But since they apparently drop from mobs I don’t see an issue.
Assuming that they do drop from mobs. The whole gem thing has soured me from even bothering to log in since the update.
Not sure if they directly drop from mobs, but they are a possible reward form ToT bags from the event (which you get tons of if you do the achievements or farm a little of the labyrinth).
On Topic: I would be maybe a little miffed if the skins weren’t RNG in the first place. The fact that there is in game means of which to try your hand. It sits well with me. Especially since this is a Raffle, and Raffles are something that is done very often in the real world and I quite enjoy them.
I just must say, this is fascinating to read and watch people theory craft something.
But they are back.
http://i.imgur.com/KanshP2.jpgBuy Candy Wrapped from the TP, receive a chance to win one randomly. Yay?
Worst way to do this ever. Anet must be out of their mind
Just wanna throw this out there, you can get the Silver Wrappers from Trick or Treat bags. I have 250 ToTs from farming Labyrinth with my guild and I got 20 Silver Wrappers from them that I chucked at the little Skritt.
And this is the problem with the RNG. I opened > 200 of them I got from the Labyrinth as well, and I got 4. 4 ><
You can get guaranteed drops for 25 gems, lol. Free is free I am not gonna begrudge if I get 4, 10, 20, or 1000. A chance in a raffle is all you need. You just need one ticket.
I dont know if you played during that halloween but all skins were obtainable through that chest at the end of the dungeon.
Stop spreading false information.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascent_to_Madness
The now re-released skins (Chainsaw, Ghastly Grinning Shield, etc.) were never obtainable through the chest at the end of the Ascent to Madness dungeon.
The “exotics, including Halloween weapon skins”, Dulfy was referring to are totally different skins (Arachnophobia, The Crossing and The Mad Moon).
Sadly, this is exactly what I stated in another thread to kins, complete with links to all of the information spelled out… and he ignored it and then said he was wasting his time with me. But thanks for the confirmation. Nice to have someone else’s input maybe they will understand now.
They were very quick to remove the free skins that you could get during the 2012 Halloween.
what free skins from 2012 could you get? I remember no free skins.
The only thing I remember was the temporary skins you could buy from a merchant for some silvers. They only lasted a few minutes.
Everything else costed some kind of cost.
You could get the very rare black lion chest ones (Greatsaw, Ghasty Shield, etc), or you could get the ones you made form very expensive recipes (The Crossing, Moon Shield, etc). You can still get and make all the stuff for these. I just got The Crossing last week.
Those were the weapon skins I remember.
A version of the devil horns that now cost 200 gems were given away for 0 gems through the Black Lion in 2012. They also didn’t limit it to one per account. You could grab as many as you had characters.
This being said, at the time they qualified as ‘town clothes’ so they were limited in use.
Once the wardrobe was activated the horns became regular headgear (and to what is being sold today).
Ah yes I forgot about this. Because people lost them in the Mystic Forge. That was a free skin indeed. Thank you, though it was not what was being discussed by kins. =)
No! The old skins dropped from the DUNGEON during THE 2012!!!! EVENT.
Why am i discussing this with a person who most likely didnt even play back then.
All of the weapons I listed where from 2012.
The ones form 2013 are entirely different. Sorry to burst your bubble my friend.
Also, I was there and I have been since beta. But that is not important since I cited every thing with relevant informational Wikis/Update Notes from THIS site.
What the hell are you on?
http://dulfy.net/2012/10/28/gw2-halloween-ascent-to-madness-act-3-dungeon-guide/
I dont know if you played during that halloween but all skins were obtainable through that chest at the end of the dungeon.
You are talking about two different sets of weapons. The Ascent to Madness dropped: The Crossing
The Mad Moon
Arachnophobia
Mad King’s armor
These Weapons Came ONLY from Black Lion Chests, OR from Mad King Chest (Mystic Forge Recipe):
Greatsaw Greatsword Skin
Chain Sword Skin
Ghastly Grinning Shield Skin
Scythe Staff Skin
Grinning Gourd Rifle Skin
Severed Dagger Skin
The only Mad Kings Chest Other than teh Mystic Forge Recipe (was an Rare Quality) was the one for the clock tower An Exotic Level Container (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mad_King_Chest_).
Read and weep mr know it all but know nothing
Surely: “Mad King Chests were created in the Mystic Forge during Halloween 2012. Recipe no longer works. Any booster could be used except PvP Glory Boosters.”
Not only do I have the direct Wiki Evidence, but I distinctly remember becuase I spent 50USD on Black Lion keys and never got 1 Skin. When they put the Mad King Chest recipe in the game (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Update-Notes-October-24-2012), I took all of the crap I got form the black lion chests and made a ton of the Mad King Chests. I opened them and got a bunch of the skins including 3 Great saw skins, two of which I sold last year.

Wont happen. The skins were free thus Anet cannot make money of them.
If they were gemstore items they would be back, but they wernt.
Since you fail to read I’ll respot this for you:
The 2012 Halloween Weapons (Greatsaw, Sword, Ghastly Shield, etc) were never, ever free. You had to open black Lion chests for them. And later they put in a special recipe for the mystic forge where you could turn your over abundance of Mystery Tonics and Boosters into Mad King bags for a shot at them as well.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Greatsaw_Greatsword_Skin
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mad_King_ChestWrong, you could get them by running the special little mini dungeon they created.
Nope, that was the other weapon skins: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascent_to_Madness#Rewards
Also, to point out THOSE specific weapons were not skins, but statless weapons that you can still craft today. I made The Crossing last week.
