“What Part Of Living Says You Gotta Die?
I Plan On Burnin Through Another 9 Lives”
What I am seeing here is that it looks like you got your butt whooped and you are crying about it?
NEw Confession:
-Despite my earlier confession of not liking Humans. I fell in love with a guy who plays a human and as a result I play my Human Ele more than any of my other characters when I am with him, unless my Ele isn’t’ geared for what we are doing (Fractals I am lookin at you).
- I joined the Meta on my Elementalist to impress said guy.
- I actually really enjoy the meta staff bunker build in spvp
- I really like Meta on my Ele =(
- I still feel horrible for liking Meta after all of my years of fighting against it.
- My Guardian will never have berserker gear or DPS traits even though I have fallen down the Meta Rabbit Hole.
- I fell in love with someone I met in this game.
What I want to know is what is wrong wit ha situational skill? There are plenty of skills that are situational. They shine in different areas of the game with different builds.
Some could use tweaks and balancing a little more, sure, but the same could be said for a whole host of skills.
Arcane Brilliance is probably one of the most used Healing Skills for ele in pve. I love it, run into the group that’s killing me pop it and fully heal myself. I also use the Warriors Defiant Stance especially when I am taking damage. Those big one-off hits aren’t when I pop my heals anyway, I try to actively avoid those bit hits.
Well they’re changing conditions caps. With Silverwastes having high armour mobs that should be ideally killed by conditions, the meta might change depending on what boss mechanics will be.
I run a hybrid necro as my fractal toon with high health pool and I’ve yet to be one shooted by anything in as high as 49. Is the difference between 49 and 50 really that bad?
No. The only thing about 49 and 50 that is annoying is that 50’s Instability is random Agony. Its annoying but not going to one-shot you with enough AR. Honestly, I’ve very rarely been one shot by anything in Fractals, because I play Active Defense.
That is exactly my point, you dont get 1 shotted because you dodge/blind what ever, but when you miss, then they 1 shot you, that is the problem, if armor is not going to prevent that, then it is a useless stat, rising difficulty makes it only more useless.
I’ma Knight’s/Cleric’s Combo Guardian, and there are rare times when I don’t time properly and get hit and I normally don’t get one shot. It also helps that I run low Health Pool high Armor (I have just shy of 3.5k Armor). I’m all for them ramping up difficulty. Having good toughness and the like on top of properly timing your dodges and CC are all well-rounded and fun ways to play.
If the people you run with don’t wanna have fun I don’t know what what to tell you, but my groups never gripe about having me in a party ever.
I find GW2s music fascinating, and I love the title music so much it is filled with such memories for me. And I still listen to the OST I got with my CE of the game. Its beautiful music.

I’d personally perfer to have no content for a few months and get the expansion faster than slow down HoT production for a few extra living story fillers
And also it gives me a chance and opportunity to get things done I’ve been meaning to but haven’t gotten around to in the past because of the aggressive content schedule.
I do believe the Stronghold Gametype is being touted as an answer to GvG because there will be Guild Leaderboards and ability to have Guild Teams in it. They mentioned this off-handedly a few times.
There will NEVER be open world PvP, ANet has separated PvP and PvE all together and they will never mingle the two outside of WvW which is a different beast on its own.
Don’t use them to try and turn a profit then? ANet rotates the dyes in and out the BLC, they have for quite awhile now. The put the last set in pretty close to the release of the last set of the others too.
I’m glad for the Shadow dyes, I hadn’t finished collecting them myself as I focused on getting two Shadow Abyss ones for my accounts.
They were not earned with Baubles, the only one was the Mini Moto guy. Which is not in the BL Chest.
Unless the Wiki is lying to me.
They weren’t earnable in the Gamemode to begin with at least not the first ones. They were Gemstore bundles.
EDIT: I went back and checked and all of the Minis for SAB that are in the BL Chests are Gemstore Exclusive Bundles.

“Adventure is out there!” from the animated movie “Up.” Love it, Paradox.
The player piano music when one dies is very cute, and I liked the sepia tone for a few minutes, but I’d like to turn it and the airplane noises off (I know we can’t) now.
You can turn both off: Sepia is Post Processing just set it to “none” and the other is player voices which is located in the audio section (this will also turn off all the other voices like shouts, player cues for boons, etc though)
“but yeah to me 500g is what everyone makes on a weekly basis.”
This is part of your problem. I run dungeons almost on a daily basis, I am not a streamer, and I have two accounts. I don’t make 500g on a weekly basis, nor do I ever transfer that much between my accounts (I use my guild bank for transfers of wealth).
You are one of the unfortunate but small percent of outliers this WILL affect. Chris has clearly stated some people will be affected.
Obviously, you are smart, you will find ways around things. Maybe start having people pay you with items over actual gold? Its not hard to turn gold into items in this game at all.
ADVENTURE IS OUTTHERE!!!!
Brownie Points to those that know where this is from.
Also this is the best ever. I love it and I really want to know who did the voice acting for the plane sounds. I literally ran around for 30 minutes giggling like a kid again.
I wouldn’t mind having a bank i can deposit gold and items in that has a password i’d have to type in before anything can be taken out.
I’d love for my bank to have an option Password Option! Where I can store my stuff and money in case I ever get hacked (not likely to happen since I am quite security conscious). The idea just sounds grand to me.
HoT was announced and I get the opposite. Instead I want to finish as much stuff as I was working on as possible before the expansion comes out so I dont’ feel like I am falling behind with my personal goals. So I am going around and finishing up as much as I can of things I didn’t have finished that I would like to. Like I am finishing up Sunrise, Getting 100% Map Completion on a few more alts. Finishing up some of the collection achievements I put off to do other things. So I am pretty busy these days.
I’m a Knight’s/Clerics Guardian and really, all I have to say is stop making us look bad. Get your AR and suck it up. You have to play the role you cast yourself into. If your group wants to melee DPS down the boss bring what is required to get it done. I do Fracs all the way to 50 almost every day on my guardian. You can say goodbye, I say good riddance. If you are going into an encounter ill-prepared yourself how can you expect your team to be? Trait properly so your wall last’s long enough to reduce the fire, make sure you’re not using Empower and overwriting might stack duration, bring your greatsword, and your sword/focus. Also make certain that instead of using your shouts to remove the condis, use the Virtue Trait that clears condi so you can put more useful traits like one that gives aegis. IF you are going to play the support role remember its about supporting others not yourself. Also you should always run shelter in Molten Boss.
^
I’d take this guy in a fractal run over the OP anytime any day of the week. I’m all about the meta and making my runs as efficient as possible, so I would obviously prefer you’d run Berserker gear. But if I have to choose between a bad zerker or someone like the person I quoted I’d take him over the bad zerker any time any day of the week.If you want to be a “support guardian” at the very least know how to actually support your party, like this guy I quoted.
Well, I don’t join Meta Groups with my Cleric’s Guardian so there’s no worry about that. But that is also because I don’t really run speed or efficiency clears, I mostly carry Guildies and/or teach tactics for encounters (As in I teach people how the fights work and what skills to bring to the table for each role in the party, not what gear they wear. Unless they ask about gear i leave that for them to discover their own way) to people who ask me. However, I am firm believer in bringing knowledge to the table. You can run almost any gear (nomad’s is pushing it, imo) and succeed any encounter as long as you know what you’re going. When I do run efficiency runs in my own spare time I run according to what my teammates will synergize with.
Meta Zerker just turns it up and makes it highly efficient, which I understand is fun to some but not all. So that is my due process of why I run what I find to be fun, but still expect people to play the role they bring themselves and know what they are getting into. Also, talking to your team be them pugs or otherwise is always a good idea.
@OP: This sounds less like a build/meta issue and more like a poor communication issue coupled with the fact you guys were trying to do an encounter you weren’t prepared for. Running higher level Fracs when no one has the AR to live if it goes badly is a bad idea. Though in my opinion I think not running AR is stupid and I wouldn’t take someone who doesn’t have at least the basic amount of protection. Agony is not designed to be outsmarted by mechanics. It is designed in a way that you are supposed to have AR. But, that’s just my opinion, now that every set of fractals ends with a boss fight and there is always unavoidable agony on boss encounters.
For the record, don’t run Empower unless you are using it for healing and there is no other might stacking going on. You’er just weakening your entire time by ruining the duration of stacked might.

scepter works great for that fight , seems a shame to have to buy one just for one fight tho. you’d think all weapons would do it.
Hitboxes for structure bosses were messed up in the tuesday patch. But a single target range weapon will automatically aim its projectiles towards the correct spot. This may be why it works?
This fight has been bugged on and off for a long time, not just since Tuesday. I have a feeling it is not intended and will eventually be fixed.
Hey Corvus! I never heard of you before (which is a shame on me cause wow I love your composes videos!) but thanks to this post I found a new person to subscribe to! I won’t be entering a t-shirt contest since I couldn’t wear it if I won it (they never go to my size) but I think that is a cool thing to do and I just wanted to let you know you earned a new sub from me today out of your sheer awesomeness.
Wow, dude! Seriously, thank you so much. It means a lot that people enjoy my content – I don’t do it for any other reason than to entertain and inspire other people who share my love for this amazing game.
No need to thank me really. Your content is quite wonderful and speaks for itself. So thank YOU for making it and I shall continue to enjoy it in the future. =D

Since I am not entering the contest on your page I will put why I love GW2 here: I love Guild Wars 2 for many reasons. The most important of which has been that people I ahve known from other games have migrated here and we are able to continue our journey, and even though everyone is at different stages in the game we can all still get together any play when we all find the time. The community as a whole has a lot of loud, kind voices and level headed-discussions even debates can happen in the actual game world! I had one such experience the other day when talking about HoT things. It was amazing and people in the map were like “Wow I’ve never see an actual conversation happen on LA Map Chat that didn’t devolve into insults.” A third reason I cherish Guild Wars 2 is my sense of belonging. I feel like I am part of this community I help make it what it is and I contribute. With every player I lend a helping hand to, with every “This game is for fun there is no ‘best’ class, but here are your options based on what you said you want to get out of the game” piece of advice I get to give a new player I am communicating the spirit of this game. That is why I love GW2 so much, because I feel like I am a part of this world it is a big part of my life RL and otherwise and so many wonderful things have happened that the blips of bad are almost always off my radar.

In my experience, their support is not slow at all. I usually get a response within 7 business days of my ticket. I’ve only had it go longer once and that was due to a high level of tickets probably reporting for the same thing that I was.
They have also be exceptionally kind with helping me with a mistake that -I- personally made and was not even entitled to their help. I mistakenly bought an outfit I owned on my account for myself when I meant to give it to someone else. That is a policy they have stating that they don’t refund gem items. But they gave me a one-time reprieve because they like to work with customers.
I know that not everyone will have the same experience, though I highly suspect you are upset because they gave you a response you didn’t like the answer to. At least they aren’t steam, someone “MAY” have accessed my account there so they locked it down and now I can’t use it. My ticket has been pending for 13 days without anything other than the initial auto-reply. Now THEY are slow and we are talking about actual dollars here that is trapped on an account I can’t use.
As for the naming policy it clearly states when you make your account name that it will be the name that is displayed on the forums AND in the game. And their naming policy is quite clear in laymen terms and everything about what is appropriate and not.
The hobo-sack incident is something they are looking to fix they have said as much just because it looks easy doesn’t mean it is and easy fix and its also a cosmetic change. There are countless other times ANet has listened to the community and changed things, even within a couple of days (Custom Gem Order Form I’m looking at you). You cannot make a blanket statement about them never listening to the community by singling out a few of the instances they haven’t had time or resources or the priority to fix while simultaneously ignoring the same amount of examples that discount your statement. It doesn’t work that way.
Finally, just because you think something is wrong doesn’t mean that ANet thinks it is. They can listen and take in feedback and still decide that its not what is right for their game. There are three sides to every argument about that anyone. What one person likes another may not, and ANet may have a third idea all together.
They have stated before that the person that writes the update notes doesn’t always know everything that gets added or taken out. Things change up until the very last minute. Also they don’t list some things because if its an exploit or not. Also Patch Notes are just there for a general overview of what was changed.
Should they be a little more transparent? Probably but at least they give us patch notes at all.
How about… don’t post the same message over and over? I have hardly EVER been suppressed in this game and I am a huge talker in Map Chat, Party Chat, Common Chat. You name it. Change up what you type, how you type it, etc. Pretty sure a copy-pasted Recruitment message is considered spam.
Congrats!! Such a wonderful story. I met my BF of three years on a game. So it works =D
Use the Scepter.
Hmm is this a new version of that bug? I found using a single target ranged weapon worked. Try that? I had the issue once a couple weeks ago when I was trying to help some people get it done.
Anet are not any worse than other MMO development studios in this regard. I generally avoid playing major patches in any MMO until a few days after they go live.
I am not a fan of the basic idea that its OK to put out a shoddy product and then wait to fix after its faults impact paying customers…but MMOs are a pretty complex endeavor so I guess cutting them some slack is not too unreasonable.
Its not a shoddy product. You cannot plan for, or prevent all bugs. No matter how much testing they do when something is pushed live there will almost always be bugs. Because you cannot test for a live environment. Things crop up and happen when its deployed and interacts with the rest of the game files. You have to give them time. Some bugs will never be fixed, but most of them will. Anet is rather fantastic and fast at squashing bugs.
Works okay with Norns but that’s because they can be quite huge.
Something to definitely look at in the future.
You cannot prevent all bugs. Its not possible to test for the live environment. Many things that happen as such are being fixed anyway. Hot fixes happen for almost every live game there is. Things will be fixed and stablized. I think ANet does a fine job of squashing the bugs.
My Abyss Dye looks exactly the same as it always has.. I haven’t noticed a “Lightening” of my color at all and I use Abyss on most of my characters.
Icebow and other Conjures do Exotic Level 80 Damage. It wasn’t nerfed. It is possible that it is just a bug in that fight. I had trouble with him a few weeks ago when I was trying to kill him for some randoms. Only I was on my guardian and my GS2 skill wasn’t hitting him hardly at all. I had to swap to my Scepter to damage him proper.
I would really like the Downed State to be changed back. I have trouble seeing green and its hard to tell when my teammates need a revive. Also the green text in the bubbles against white is also hard to read when Green is a hard color to see.
Restore the settings to Default, then check box next to “Adjust Camera to Player Height” and it will be almost exactly as it was before.
Human is the exact same face this time with a little more or less makeup on each of them. Norn and Sylvari all have drastically different options. I think all the races go through it. Some get more changes than others. Happens with the hair too. I am still waiting for some good Sylvari hair.
I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out. I like it its more bold and visible. And Probably in preparation for them to be adding new information for the Mastery System on that bar.
EDIT: Also want to point out that since I play with my UI setting to “Small” I haven’t noticed a lot of the UI changes as of late because its even more subtle when its small.
(edited by Paradox.1380)
Its in Beta. So, there’s that. Instead of complaining, give them honest, good feedback on it and allow them time to fix it.
Why don’t you just play the parts you like and don’t play what you don’t like?
They’re too big.
They’re actually dark grey not black.
Everybody and their Mom is getting them.
Game looks like a cookie-cutter Korean game atm.
No thanks.Ya some of the stuff they’ve added to this game is ridiculous. Super sayian charr hair, neon colored hair, these wings and the list goes on. Makes me wonder if I’m still in Tyria anymore…
I have to agree with this one. I left that last game that had these wings, now I feel like I’m right back there. Everyone’s wearing them and frankly it looks ridiculous.
What exactly do they have to do with Tyria? Where’s the lore behind these?
It reminds me of a Korean game I used to play a few years ago. Desperate for cash game, they actually came up with all kinds of wing models and sizes, the thing was that the game didn’t really have a lore to talk about. That, and also, the fact that with those wings you could, you know, FLY.
I wonder about all the models of gliders that will show up in gemstore in HoT now.
This game is Chinese not Korean, just FYI I still paly it.
Submit a ticket with a screenshot attached. There is an in game option. ANet deals quite harshly with bots and they are normally quickly banned. Don’t forget though most botters are very persistent and will simply make a new account/etc. They make RL money off botting (most hardcore ones) so they aren’t going to be deterred losing one account. Its a forever battle.
Would be either Guardian or Elementalist.
If you are roleplaying a human, then I would go for ele and tie each element to a god, like Balthazar = Fire, Dwayna = Water, Melandru = Earth and Lissa = Electricity (close enough for the last one)
For other races guardian would fit better imo, if you know D&D , then guardians is just like Clerics.
What about poor Grenth and Kormir? =(
Charged Lodestones also drop FAR less than the others. So there’s that. As far as I know, though, no new recipes have needed lodestones of any kind really.
I would go with Human Guardian.
Screenshots would help to better aid in what you are meaning I think. Because I don’t understand what you are talking about.

I knew this, but its a good tip.
Ah Sweet Nostalgia. I watched this when he posted it. I must say while I miss that old LA I am kind of glad that it has changed so much. The new hubs are awesome, the remains are still there and when its rebuilt I hope that it maintains its difference from the original one. It means that the games story really did have a lasting impact on the world and that things can indeed change for good.
Even things like Kessex hills, I mean almost half of that map was changed due to one temporary arc. But I still remember what it looked like, and what some of the old Hearts had us doing before Nightmare Tower.
Don’t know if anyone has noticed but those wings are suspiciously taken to the Raiment of the Lich Costume’s wings from GW1. They split the wings from the costume double the profits! =D Still getting them by the way.
