Jesus Christ. This patch is a nightmare for people who enjoy their AP grind in peace. Now AP acts like a currency and there will be tons of QQ about it becouse people will want their unlocks now or else bad things happens. Just play the game, you will get them in time.

The issue… as it almost universally is… is not just a we want things now. AP’s are not a linear currency. If I want to buy a skin I can farm money and expect the same rate of return. With AP’s once I finish my jump puzzles… thats all, they are done. I can never repeat them to get points. At the current pace while yes, the low level rewards are pretty easy to get, to get up to the 15-20k required (at current figurative pacing) we will be playing this game a very long time trying to grind dailies to get enough points.

But please, go ahead and say everything is a matter of entitlement…

Its always possible that the Glint we met in that game was an illusion or a aspect of Glint. @kriza krimos: We are mostly seeing the foundation for future story so far but they have done alot of groundwork (and groundwork is important in large scale storytelling. We have seen the corruption of the Ministry plot line touched on through the introduction of Marjory and Kasmeer, we have seen several events with unknown backers to establish a larger consperacy at work and now we have the EDs story getting some set up.

As Arenanet has gotten its stride its story has been getting better. If the LS improves in the next 6 months as much as it has in the past 6 then its going to be very interesting.

I can turn on news and see same stories, im here for killing dragons and monsters not playing policeman on festivals, and discovering corruption of some in-game Berlusconi.
After 4 months i must say im beeing more and more disapointed with LS.

Yup, getting real tired of the over used “Hey look a festival! Oh no something has gone horribly wrong that you must fix while letting this NPC take credit!” Seriously… these ‘ground work’ stories are so disjunct its been pretty boring. F&F connected to Dragon Bash how? Aetherblades come out of nowhere (while blimp tech is still in its infancy… come on, be consistent) and now who cares about them!

I got to say though, this story FINALLY seems to be connected to the already established Tyrian lore because of Glint. Anet doesnt need to reinvent this games lore every 2 weeks so hopefully we can keep going on this story that actually has a connection to the world.

Instant kills make this map not worth it. The skill in GW team oriented pvp was being able to down and then stomp an enemy. Thats gone with this map and its over abundance of instant kill. Not to mention the 1 interesting mechanic (the cannon) is far to over powered to be taken serious when you can have a gimmick CC class standing up there since the portal is ridiculously buggy.

Its not even a matter that we have to change comps – thats fine, but rather than making something like power builds better you just added a new mechanic (instant kill) to make people not play condi builds. Sometimes the answer isnt to add new things but to balance…

Taking a vacuum to your system is an absolutely TERRIBLE thing to do. Please, for the sake of your systems safety, never ever do it again.

Clear dust the smart and safe way – Pressurized Air. Blow the dust away, let it settle in your carpet, vacuum the carpet. While your computer is fine now vacuums are a big creator of static. Static is, of course, electricity. Depending on what the static jumps to you could brick a component, corrupt some data on your hard drives or even brick the system.

Remember, always practice safe computing.

the thing is nostromo’s are not permitted in tournaments
because of their obvious macro capability, which is a bummer because just like most of you I have it for the easy keybind setup and the D-pad movement, not for macro’s at all. I only have 1 macro and it’s for F interact and T for target called target.

if they were permitted in tourneys I’d be trying to up my game even more so I can play in tourneys.

Nostromo is permitted in tourneys, its a simplified keyboard. Just because something allows the use of macros doesnt mean its banned, just like using any ‘gaming’ mouse is legal while it still allows the use of 3rd party software to overwrite control. Its the use of macros which is the bannable offense. There are plenty of ways to create macros through software regardless of what peripherals you are using and if the software is bundled with the hardware or not. Does this mean all keyboards and mice are banned? No.

We hear you guys loud and clear! We definitely plan on mitigating the leaver issue with a form of punishment. I wont give details about what the punishment will be, but it should be enough to deter this form of behavior. Anything we add will be in addition to what happens now (loss and rating hit).

And how will it ‘punish’ people who get DCed and try to come back? I DCed from a match once came back just after it had ended and received a chest for winning however got to take a lovely hit to my ranking and a loss… Thanks for that…

D/C rarely happen if you have a stable connection and if you don’t I wouldn’t suggest playing pvp because you would be a liability to your team if you have to keep reconnecting…

What gives? You claim you want to promote 3rd party tournaments over running tournaments of your own. You claim you want to be an ESports game, and when a respected ESports orginization decides to put your game through a trial tournament you get the word out with a whole 2 Facebook posts and 5 tweets. No post on the website, no post on the log in launcher. No blog post from developers. Just 7 quick easily skipped social media messages, most of which came on the day of and not even before.

The reason is (or was) that the Orb is unrealiable. Sometimes it wouldn’t spawn. So the map was removed until these problems could be addressed. Unfortunately, there have been no updates on the state of this map.

The supposed imbalance isn’t the reason it was removed.

While its not the reason it was removed, it still is a reason thakittens not enjoyable in a tournament setting.

This is something i would like to see… It is frustrating to have randoms come through a guild server and just start 5v1’ing someone that was dueling a buddy to test a build out….

Password protect?

We like to keep it open for fun duels for everyone but there are still them kittenes that wanna roll through for no reason but to troll. Not sure what being an admin would entail but it would be nice to be able to kick people from a custom server if they are doing nothing but what should be done in a hot join server (i’m talking about servers that have no progression no rotation and no real “start” to the game)

They really do need more commands. As owner of my server I can end a game that starts and kick people during games.

Cant start a match
Cant progress to next match without the match starting
Cant force an autobalance based on current scores

I don’t know how much clearer I can be.

The first thing you should ask yourself is why are people leaving?

Most players will not leave a match due to a reasonable loss.

Many players will leave a match when they solo q’d and are getting rolfstomped by a premade.

So let’s fast forward a bit to your proposed changes. Well use wow for example – you leave a match and you get a 30 minute debuff before you can enter another match.

BRAVO – all you guys got what you wanted.

Now – here’s the by-product. Less people will que for matches. New players will not want the hassle of getting farmed by pre-mades and on top of that a pentalty if they leave because it’s neither enjoyable or a learning experience for them.

The real debate should be about how to address the horrible problems with the match making system which would solve a good portion of this issue.

And you know they are prioritizing this over matchmaking how exactly?

You cannot throw every possible developer body at a single issue and make it come to completion any faster… It doesnt work that way in the software world (I know, I work in this world).

I am not the one asking for a fix which will stagnate pvp ques and matches.

I am also not the one asking for the band aid fix which will reduce the amount of new players getting interest in pvp.

What i am saying is leave it alone until at which time Anet fixes the match making system. At that time then this viewpoint holds some value – until then it will bring nothing positive to the game.

Again, what have they at all said that implies this is going in before matchmaking? Stop making unfound assumptions.

Indeed! Admins for custom arenas is something we plan on supporting.

Can I ask when? Or better put, can I say that when you add this I will buy one? Because at the moment having one requires my presence but I work and cannot possibly admin the CA during that time. I want to have it open to my guildies but we stretch from NA to EU.

Plan on supporting is code for on their to do list but havent started yet.

I don’t have any problem to buy an arena and maintain it, in fact I have one for my guild and friends.
The point is that PvPers can NOT afford it in any way. And it is absurd too being forced to PvE for SPvP purposes.

I can agree with you, as I have previously in this post, about that. I think its absurd for a dev to come in here and basically say PvE for it if you dont want to use cash. That is very telling that Anet really does have the opinion that the PvP community is a second rate community and we are treated as such.

Thats gonna have to change if you want PvP longevity.

Yes, because pets are all the ranger was….

I already said it, spirits and traps are still very viable. I was a BM home point bunker for my team pre patch. Post patch I am running spirits and can 1v1 a far point assaulter coming to my point equally if not better with this build without sacrificing my sustain or survivability that I had before.

Just because other classes got stronger does not imply the ranger got weaker, and just because you cant afk use your pet doesnt mean the ranger is done.

Why GW2 has a fee AND this fee is expensive too?

I can’t, for the life of me, think of a single MMO that has such a feature. Care to enlighten me of any MMO that offers the ability (without a subfee) for one to be able to host their own, custom rule arena? Otherwise we’re just saying other games offer hotjoins… but hotjoins offer hotjoins.

I was not talking about RPGs (if you are saying that with the MMO acronym). But 99% of online FPS, MOBA, RTS or whatever give you the possibility.

FPS – host on your own machine if you want a custom server and need fast enough upload speeds to properly host one, otherwise you pay
RTS – not really servers, one machine hosts or you connect to a central location… that how it HAS to work or you dont have any game at all
MOBA I dont have enough experience with to make a statement on.

Regardless, you basically said that because other unrelated genres have ‘servers’ without fees that this genre needs it too? Why exactly is that?

FPS – normal rooms are hosted on game server, not on player’s machine. And custom server, yes you’re right, but custom arenas on GW2 are not that “custom” to justify the price.
RTS – yes and so? Matches are hosted on the server, why can’t be here the same?

Basically ArenaNet is NOT providing a total customizable arena, it has only basic options. They are just trying to monetarize it somehow.

What FPS games are you talking about? Something like Killing Floor where the player population is tiny? What large FPS game along the lines of CoD/BF3 has free servers?

RTS – the point is the game is designed to connect to a peer and play. Thats what you paid money to do. RTS’s have very little substance outside of peer to peer matches. Compare that here… Last I knew there was a sprawling PvE world that was developed and is the main focus that you have access to with the purchase of your game.

Anet gave players the ability to join free servers at will, jumping in and out of matches without penalty. You want more customization then that? Then you pay, the exact same as if you play on someones FPS server and you dont like the rules. You dont just get a free server because of that.

The minimum players to start is per team, not total. If you set it to 2 expecting a 1v1 with ready up it wont work. Rather you need to set that value you 1 so that 1 person on each team needs to click ready for it to start.

The tool tips are horribly vague.

no1 is forcing you to pay for a custom arena but its a basic feature that most of the games have it for free … (yes most of the rts games some fps games mobas and many other type of games)
its not about the money becouse every1 has 20$ to buy their own room, the problem is that what they say and what they do. i tougth that with gems the only thing that u were going to be able to buy was just cosmetics, does a CA looks like a cosmetic to you?.

They never ever said the Gem Store was going to be purely cosmetic. Its not their fault that you failed to read anything about the Gem Store or look at any of the options in GW1 store to realize some functionality that enhances but is not required to play this game to the fullest would be sold there.

Do you need a Custom Server? No
Do you want a Customer Server? Yes

You can always play ball at the public park, but if you want your own hoop at home then it ain’t free. IMO, that cost for CA is reasonable. Not everyone needs their own server, and the cost to maintain it can easily be shared. Likely it will be shared anyways unless you like to play alone.

Can you make money in sPVP? Yes
Do you need money in sPVP? No

Use your glory/chest to make dyes. Sell it for gold. I’ve made enough to get toys and character expansion slot. Its not the same as farming PVE CoF, but as a PVPer you have very little need for gold. The gear is all free.

I make a lot of gold of dyes. Sometimes I wonder how may pvper even take the time to craft dyes and sell them.

Sometimes I wonder how many people dont consider that rng is random…

100 dyes that sell for 1 silver each isnt going to pay for a weeks worth of CA time.

seriously though there is nothing wrong with Anet trying to make a buck off of pvp i just think they went the wrong way about it.

keep in mind if pvp makes them more money it gives more incentive for Anet to support it. that is just how the world works it takes money to make things happen, believe it or not those people who work on making content for this game like a thing we call food and shelter

Believe me gw1 devs were not homeless guys…and they still didn’t ask for a single dollar outside game’s price…and dear god pvp was 10 times better than here…

times have changes and GW1 was not really an mmo, it felt more like an ARPG while mmo’s cost more to make and have more fierce competition with other mmo’s.

The Guild Wars In-Game store was introduced in 2006… I dont know about you, but to me that wasnt very late in the GW1 timeline of releases…

You can always play ball at the public park, but if you want your own hoop at home then it ain’t free. IMO, that cost for CA is reasonable. Not everyone needs their own server, and the cost to maintain it can easily be shared. Likely it will be shared anyways unless you like to play alone.

Do you need money in sPVP? No

Use your glory/chest to make dyes. Sell it for gold. I’ve made enough to get toys and character expansion slot. Its not the same as farming PVE CoF, but as a PVPer you have very little need for gold. The gear is all free.

The issue is that a Dev just came in here and told PvPers that it is perfectly viable for us to pay for an arena with in game gold. Im sorry but your not going to make enough money selling dyes to covert into gems to get tokens to pay for an arena by yourself.

I dont mind the price, I have an arena and I will pay for it for my team, however the opinion that this Dev seems to have that we should be happy because we can convert gold to gems is way off base and makes it seem like they dont actually live in the “real” (in this case in game) world.

IMO custom arenas were probably not the greatest idea, simply because of the shear lack of content in the mists right now.
So my suggestion is to adapt a more profitable business/cash shop model like successful PvP games DoTA 2, or Team Fortress 2.
TF2 probably being the best fit because the whole salvaging items to get new ones with there crafting system could fit the mystic forge.

attach a PvP specific cash shop to the pvp locker.
scrap the boring RNG loot chests, and make it so people actually have to invest skill or gain rating to achieve cool armor, cosmetics and novelty pvp items, not just make a time sink ranking system. since Anet did say they were working on a more rewarding spvp.

While Anet should allow you to purchase skins far more often then they do for use in PvP, the rest of your argument is a little weak.

While yes, you can try your luck with RNG chests to get the armor you want, you can also craft those same skins with very minimal risk of not getting your item (i.e. only the very ‘rare’ skins require a crit forge). In addition you need to be of X rank to make these items which requires an investment of time to achieve, and while not directly skill a skilled player will achieve those ranks faster then an play time equivalent poor player.

That said the PvP is not very rewarding if you do not subscribe to the thrill of winning a PvP match, in which case your probably playing Hot Join where wins dont matter much in the same way that playing BF3 or any other shooter it doesnt really matter how the team did which is, after all, the model they followed for those servers.

I Don’t think they should sell skins at all the whole point of SPvP is to earn that “cool look” people want and to “PvP” if your not subscribing your self to winning a match even in hot join then PvP is probably not for you.

The whole point of PvP is to win a game… not to look cool. You even say it yourself but then claim that looking cool (the point of PvE’s end game) is why people PvP. Also, you clearly have never been in a hot join match. Very little attention is given to winning the match (and to be fair 30 glory isnt much to play for) and much more on killing as many people on the other team as you can.

People are outraged because there hasnt been much developed specificly for PvP and now that something has, they have to not only pay $20 but $10 a month thereafter to sustain it. So I agree with you, price is pretty fair.

But others need to think to themselves… do I REALLY need that custom server for yourself? If you have reasons (such as my own, my PvP team uses our server to practice and hold scrims) chances are good that you are willing to pay the money. I would fancy to guess the people complaining were all hoping to create some awesome server that everyone would love and populate without having to pay for it. Guess what, if arenas were cheap then everyone would have a server and none would be populated.

I agree you should be able to pay for custom arenas through only pvp play BUT you have to realize the devs need to eat and a lot of that comes from in game purchases which sPvP players dont have to make at the moment.

People keep posting this, but I don’t think they have any idea what they’re talking about. Not a single one of you know how much money anet makes, or spends, or needs. Businesses don’t seek to make just enough money to pay their employees, they try to make as much money as possible. We have not a single clue how much these custom arenas are actually costing anet, and my somewhat-educated bet is very little in the grand scheme of things. People really need to stop drinking the anet kool-aid and actually think for a second. These are not servers like you would expect in some other game. You are paying for the privilege of playing against your friends, like any other mmorpg game would give to you as a basic feature. How can you customize your arena? Adjusting some numbers? Change the map? Kick people? All things that are trivial to alter for anet, and don’t actually cost them any resources.

“needs to eat too” is a statement that implies that a company needs to make money, not that they need the money in order to continue operating. So really, you quoted a guy saying the same thing as you and implied that he is a mindless Anet support. GG.

By the way, you can already play with and against your friends in normal servers without paying, however just like in other games if you explicitly want to play with just a select group of people then you need a custom arena, and that privilege should cost something.

2500 gems gets you 183 days instead of 30 days at 500 gems. yes, in my example, the price for 30 days is 500 gems. but at the moment we have a price of 1600 gems for 30 days.

4000 gems gets you 365 days and the server gets +1 day if there are at least 100 unique players per day visiting the server.

My point was, I did purchase already and if they compensated me by giving me access to 2 more servers I would have absolutely no use for them. I like the vast majority of your idea, just not that compensation. Rather they give me an equivalent amount of time tokens.

You miss the point entirely. GW2 pvp is considered fun for the reason I outlined. If you are playing for ‘fun’ and not having it then your not going to have a good time, and complaining isnt going to help as the direction of this game is not moving the way you want it to and it will not move that way.

Fact is the GW2 community doesnt have to like PvP, they are still playing the game over in PvE. The GW2 PvP community has to enjoy it if they are to remain playing. Anet is a unique spot that they can tailor the game to their tastes to offer to a wider range of gamers. Those interested in GW1 style pvp are going to continue to play GW1 style pvp over in GW1. They can then use GW2 to cater to a different type of player base. So again, if you arent enjoying GW2 pvp, then move on. Is this truly that hard of a concept to grasp?

To answer your question, by the way;

I dont play PvP at all to rank up. Ranking up is a side effect of me playing in tournaments which… contrary to the vocal group on this forum… is quite enjoyable.

I dont play tournaments to earn money. This is a game for me, not an occupation. I work during the day so that I can enjoy playing at night. I do tournaments for the thrill of challenge.

The game doesnt need to “pay out” to be fun, it needs to have a good core concept and a community to play with… and while the community of people who actually play the game and not sit on the forum whining about everything they dont like may be small, we do exist.

Your losses are to worse players then their losses. If I play against Follidus and lose and you lose to a guy Ranked 1% your rating is going to tank far more then mine.

Rank has, as far as we are aware, nothing to do with your internal rating.

PvP ranks need reworking, as do WvW achievements. Anet made them both extremely hard to get. I somewhat understand why, to draw out rewards as much as possible, but I see what they did as just a band-aid fix.

And what does rank really mean to you? The rewards are kinda useless as they are purely skins, but is it the exclusivity of those skins that bothers you? Besides thakittens really a number and a title (though the fact the number and the title dont line up is extremely annoying).

Ok, got it.

I’m one of those trying to come out with its own build… Let’s see if that will help me or not.

However, how did you manage to learn the map? I mean… when I play solo queue, there is no recognizable strategy, and it’s hard to understand what strategy did the enemy use.

I still don’t know whether I know or don’t know if I really know how maps work.

Learn the fastest ways to get from point A to point B. Learn the mechanics of all the secondary objectives and figure out when the optimal time to use them are. Learn the viewing spots to get optimal view coverage of your enemy. All of this can be done solo.

When playing soloq what I found worked best was to just pick a role and play it. To often when I face a bad soloq team its 5 players each trying to ‘win’ the game on their own. They move from point to point trying to cap it and get frustrated with the rest of the team when they lose a point. I play as a BM ranger and when soloq-ing I will either bunker home, or if another pug says he is going to do that I will assault far point. Even without communication your team is now less of a zerg and stands a better chance to be in proper position.

Now to this community of the forum…….

The real question for everyone though is why PvP, and thats a legitimate question. If your answer is to raise on the ladder then you need to adapt your build and play style to the most complement common soloq players – i.e. play bunker as most soloq players play roamers or team fighters. Learn multiple builds so that before the match starts you can change to a different class to give your team a better comp.

If you answer is to join a premade team and do things like 3rd party tournaments or Mist League then pick the role you are interested in an when soloq-ing ALWAYS play that role. Get better at that role and then use your resources to tryout for a team. There are plenty of teams recruiting (my team just recruited 2 new players) and many places to look. If you cant find a team your not trying.

One of the biggest issues is, that you get more rank with braindead hotzerg then with tournaments. Another problem is imho, that you get rank anyway. It doesnt matter if you play good or bad, if you help your team or not. In GW1 the rank meant something (not talking about the last 3 years, but the first 3), because you actually had to WIN to get rank and the more matches you won (in a row), the harder the enemies got. Parallel you also received more fame (rankpoints), when you won many matches in a row… I dont unterstand why Anet didnt take this system into GW2…^^

I think this is a little misleading. Bad players will not gain as many points as a good player even in hotjoin. They get 30 points for winning and the rest is based on their performance. The other issue I have is that while HA rank did indeed mean something, it also lead to a massive issue with entry into PvP. Seeing messages like r3++, r6++, ect were common place, and teams which had any chance to really gain rank with any sort of speed where those teams. That is not inviting to a new player as they are now either with other new players or possibly bad players which, unless they are lucky and play a team of equal standing, will then be matched against one of those r3/6++ teams which due to experience will win 9 times out of 10.

That is why the current system was implemented. Players who may not get a chance to join a team due to rank can still work towards getting better even though they lose.

So… you moved AFTER getting on a premade, right?

That means that players might need to get an organized team to become good. Then there is still a problem in playing tourneys as solo queue.
2 problems: you might end up in a bad team composition (e.g.: no bunkers). And organizing is harder: people can communicate only where they are dead. Before that, they are fighting. This without voice chat.

And there’s also the build problem: to make a good build you have to choose a role and adapt to it. In solo queue that role might be useless. Not in a team. Or you go and play a bunker. And then you don’t learn much, for you will be knowing only one part of the game.

Im not doubting that issue. Im not doubting that a split of soloq and premades should be created. But to say that match making isnt working is an incorrect statement. People of similar ranks are still being put together and facing against a team of other similar ranks.

The issue is that in the range I have identified there is a MASSIVE variance in skill. Good players drop due to a string of bad games. Bad players rise because they are carried, they then meet and the match goes south for one team. Its not Anets fault that a bad got carried or good players had an off night.

EDIT: I also joined the premade when I was around 80%. At that point I had changed builds to a more meta build and actually learned the map and how the game is played in a tournament setting now. However at that time I would still drop to 60% on a bad night and could rise to 85% on a good night. Since creating a premade we have since stabilized at the 90% – top 1000 grouping where solo players are fine by themselves and teams are generally around the same. As always there are matches that go poorly or that are easy, but 9/10 the game is close.

I Predict someone will Rank 80 in about a year and a half from now. Great posts in this thread though. I agree with most of them. There should be a real tournament and it shouldn’t be all Conquest all the time. I also feel that you should not be able to gain Glory in Hotjoin AND that you should only gain Glory when your team wins in tournament sPvP. But they haven’t implemented tournament sPvP. What they call tournaments are single round Team Arena vs Random Arena.

As far as PvP is concerned they haven’t done a single thing right. I saw the GW2 box in Gamestop yesterday. It had the nerve to say that the game has “World Class PvP”. Can you believe that False Advertising? World Trash PvP is more like it. I used to be one of ANet’s biggest fans too……

While yes there should be better tournament formats, you need a player base to populate those tournaments. So it becomes a bit of a chicken vs egg question.

Do you implement better tournament structure (which by the way they already had and removed due to low population and complaints of length of time to complete) and hope that attracts more players risking development time and money for something that may not work, or do you wait for the population to grow and then implement features when there are more players to use them risking the population never growing?

Based on the fact they had a better tournament system, people complained it took to long and so they removed it, they are clearly making the right choice to wait for the population to grow by advertising the 3rd party tournaments. And personally, its posts and opinions like that which are hurting the community. Claim they cant make decisions or do anything right while begging for them to add something that we begged them to get rid of in the first place… so really, who is the ones that cant make decions? (Spoiler, the answer is the player base)

3 Conquest Maps in a row isn’t much of a tournament. Bottom line is thakittens not that much fun. I guess you didn’t play the original or you understand what I’m talking about. They had the blueprint for a successful tournament and they threw it all away to gain absolutely nothing. In the original HoH Tournament in GW1 the second map alone contained 6 Pre-Made Teams with each team consisting of 8 Players. There was never any wait time and there were hundreds of Pre-Made teams of 8 players playing HA at any given time. Why did GW1 have no problem filling up the queue and GW2 be an Epic PvP Failure? Simple, GW1 was more fun, had a better combat system, required more skill to play at a high level, and had a real tournament structure with Team Death Match, Conquest, King of the Hill, and Capture The Flag style Maps. Throw in great rewards for winning the Hall of Heroes along with a legit Fame /Rank system and you can clearly see where GW2 went wrong. GW1 > GW2

Funny that you reference an HA map that was removed from rotation because it wasnt well received and often was unfair. While I agree GW2 still has flaws lets not say that GW1 was the greatest of pvp games. While HA did have multiple game types, that vast majority of maps came down to a deathmatch game with periodic ressing and side mechanics for teams that needed the boost.

And this is beside the point. GW1 (which by the way, played for over 6 years, thanks for the assumption I didnt play) was strictly a team based game. While player skill was still highly important team and build comp were far more important. GW2 is much more personal skill oriented. GW1 had a high barrier to entry and a large learning curve. GW2 allows new players to pick up the game, play with others on a smaller team and still get rewarded even though they are new.

The point I am getting at is that these are 2 different games, and there is a reason that GW1 still is being hosted and not shut down. If you like GW1 pvp go play GW1 pvp. Its time for this community to accept that these are 2 different games created by the same company.
