I love this idea. But ranger has already a lot of weaps in comparison to ele, it’s not really probable to add attunements-more skills..well if the class was completely redesigned maybe…not gonna happen ever though

that build isnt bad. But
In comparison to ramp/celestial build it has 330 more cond dmg, 70 less power and much more direct dmg from dagger auto attack.
Ramp/celestial has more condition duration, 51% more critical damage(imo needed for a useful dagger autoattack and ds life blast), vulnerability from axe #1/life blast and a little bit more survivability…and if you kill enemies with the scepter you get cond dmg stacks to cover up the cond dmg difference. And better deathshroud when axe is equipped.
So someone could take the rampager/celestial build and use the dagger and be more effective than the build you posted, because of the much higher critical damage and the higher precision/power…changing the axe mastery trait and dhuumfire for chill of death and close to death.

rampager trinkets>less survivability, less defensive stats, with celestial you get 54 crit chance (without food) with ramp you’d reach a (useless with the lack of crit dmg) 60+ crit chance.
with rabid you focus more on conditions, and start lacking on the power section of the build, again with lack of power/crit dmg, and with berserker you focus more on the power side, so why not go full zerk after all. And nemesis build already leans towards the power side of the build with the berserker backpiece. Hybrid is about having decent balanced stats all over the chart and nemesis build offers just that. And the build is flexible, you can change rings to zerk/rabid and suit your needs.

PS I have zerk/hybrid/condi/pvt and have tried most builds (or variations of them) i’ve seen, so im not that ignorant regarding theorycrafting.
I do not think all of nemesis builds are that effective, but every time someone mentions nemesis i see your hate flowing…why, because he didnt adopt the zerk meta?

Full Rampager is supposedly more dmg(power/condi) might be the best choice with the ferocity change. With the celestial trinkets you get a bit less power/cond dmg but more crit dmg and defensive stats. Full celestial doesnt have enough cond dmg/power, and celestial armor/ramp trinkets has similar dmg to the first combi, but is way more expensive to make and not as defensive. Sure he can make it himself but since another guy offers a ready guide with everything explained (gear/trait choices and math about dps/dps uptime, aoe/single target wise) why not see what he likes from that guide and copy it.

you can switch curses VII and take Banshees Wail and use dagger/warhorn, if you feel axe is too easy

@ Dranror i always thought lb is homing…i can remember specific fights in pvp and im fairly certain it is homing in pve

i think heal shows when it’s up, for example warrior’s trait for regen based on adrenaline heals every 3 seconds and every 3 seconds you see a green number, while regen heals once per second and you see its green number every 1 sec (if i understood correctly)

Healing spring removes conditions, up to 5, 1 every 2 seconds. It’s also the longest water field available iirc (and blast finishers/leap give extra healing, for example gs #3 or wh#5). Troll Unguent is a very good heal if you want sustained healing, and heal as one, maybe not too special, but heals for a good amount on a short cd (10 second less than thief;s Hide in Shadows. The stealth on heal is a complete another topic). Healing spirit actually heals on cast, heals on hit every 10 sec and heals on active, so good burst heal and good sustained heal. No active condi removal, but you have other means to deal with conditions other than heals (empathic bond, bear, signet). Ranger has very good heals compared to other classes. And pet synergizes with healing spring, for example drake makes a combo finisher and canine do a leap for extra healing.

I agree that healing power could scale better. Get some facts straight before whining.

yeah i agree that helps with sustained dps on adds. Maybe that’s the reason we dont get cleave on dagger, we would be too op spreading condis and cleaving kitten

i think condis spread with epidemic, tick based on the necro’s condi dmg. so if a zerker spreads 150 tick bleeds they will tick 25 on the new target.

First of all, ive never played wow. So my pov is from gw2 only.

About a build
For traits check which traits benefit ds/minions. So Soul Reaping and Death Magic. Two more traits are +30% minion power in the spite line and minion hp siphon from Blood Magic. Soul Reaping line gives critical damage, so your build probably should be a power type build (most effective dmg wise for power builds are armors/weaps with power/precision/critical damage). From death magic you get toughness and boon duration. That is actually good, since necromancers have high hp.

Some pointers i want to write down. Life Force scales with hp, so the more vitality you have, the more life force you get. Life Blast (auto attack in ds) hits harder if you have a 2-hand weap equipped (like staff) becauses it uses the stats of a 2-hand weap instead of an 1-hand. And as you cannot lose hp while on deathshroud, you also cannot gain any, so keep in mind that any regen/siphons arent effective while on ds.
A build i just made based on your preference, you can switch the berserker armor for more defensive stats (like power-toughness-vitality) if you have problems surviving.

some tips
For Pve (dungeons and events) its better to focus on damage, since surviving is relatively easy. Minions aren’t that good in pve. In my opinion control/dmg hybrid isnt compatible with pet build and needs condition damage/duration to work. Imo a power type build with some control would be a power/well necromancer. I’m guessing you are still leveling or just hit 80, so i would suggest to get some rare gear, run some dungeons with guildies, get gold, and buy armor. Also read the stickied thread about pve guide and i suggest the youtube videos of ’’iamoneandiamlegion’’ to get you into the necromancer way-to-play for any type of build/situation.
About pvp, the gear is free so you can try any combination you like:) Minionmancer is very effective at the moment (also brainless). The build i posted could maybe be effective in WvW with some trait swapping and some more defensive stats..i dont do wvw much so dont take my word for it:P

couple of suggestions, get koi cakes for more condi duration (longer vuln/bleeds), remove sigil of force/night on condi weapons since they affect direct damage and not condi dmg. If you play more pve and want to run rampager gear, better invest in power damage=asc celestial trinkets, and runes of divinity/traveler. Also use a sigil for 25 stacks, either condition or power. Full cycle is : BiP-dagger #4,#5,scepter #2,#3, scepter auto until 20-22 stacks, well of suffering, focus #4, axe #2, ds (use #5 if not cd) life blast(4x i think), axe #2, scepter auto, cast BiP and continue. Pretty nice to crit 8k with 130 bleeds ticking

Ofc for pve zerk is better but i enjoy hybrid more

So you’ve got some things mixed up:)
First of all scepter/focus and axe/dagger dont synergize very good. Focus strips boons in pvp and applies pretty fast vuln on opponent and some regen on you. vuln+axe #2 is the way to go. As for dagger as offhand its usually used with the scepter to apply extra bleeds with dagger #5.
Utilities are all changeable so you choose what you like
About traits…the 25pts spite minor trait (might when health drops to 25%) is absolutely worthless Also as second major trait instead of axe mastery take chill of death for pvp, i think it has 20s icd ? (the skill from the trait is the skill #5 from focus)
You dont really need that much condi duration from traits (20% bleed + 33% from scepter) especially since you have invested in spite which already gives cond duration. Use the grandmaster trait for 33% more condi duration on scepter for longer poison and cripple, switch the first major trait to Weaking shroud (casting dagger skill #5 on ds enter). The 5 points you removed from spite you can use to take blood magic 20 pts major trait, and take trait I for lower dagger skills cooldown (condi transfer+blind on dagger #4 on lower cooldown). The standard choice for pvp necros is to take the trait IX on Curses, Terror, to deal damage with fear, and its a way better choice than faster recharge on corruption skills.
The choice of runes shows you want duration on your bleeds, but there are way too many condi cleanses in pvp and duration isnt that important. Duration is important in pve while pvp and wvw you must focus on your condition damage. So with the rabid gear(lots of toughness) a solid choice are the runes of the undead, which convert 5% of your toughness to condition damage. Your sigil choices are ok, maybe change the 10% more vuln to something else, like Superior Sigil of Nullification (remove a boon on crit, 60% chance to proc) or any sigil which works on crit because you have a high enough crit chance.

tl;dr
That build needs changes
Anyway id suggest level your class first to learn it, look at some guides online, browse the forums (dont let the immense qq-ing in here affect your view of the class:D) and then customize your own build, according to your preference and experience.

If they hadnt of tried to chill, poison and avoid the aoe lifesteal as much as possible they never would of been able to kill lupi.

so this vid was made to show a MM party arah run or to prove nemesis MM build sucks because the idiots kept on using minions in lupi p3 ? If they used minions just phase 1+2 they could make it to a 35min run max, which isnt that bad for this build imo…

i have found some uses actually (yeah still prefer CC but meh)
coe subject alpha…team is low on hp, pop it and they heal a bit
also useful against lava shaman in fractals
if a guy is downed and you pop it, he could potentially rally
extra damage!
if u use the 3might on heal run, the 3 might on signet use trait and sigil of battle + blood is power + signet of power you can reach 22 might stacks in 3-5 seconds

Actually a rabid necro reaches 133% condi duration and can keep 22-25 bleeds almost constantly…and for your question, no, the higher your condi dmg the harder your conditions hit

Hybrid build works perfect in fractals…you need to get used to its defensive capabilities, once you learn it you will feel pretty tough :P Rabid gear is also pretty defensive, dunno why u had problem with it…if u feel you need more defense go for soldiers gear(Power/vit/tough) which also gives hp (you will have aroun 26-28k hp). Soldiers gear and minions is a popular tanky and good dps build, imo its pretty good for dungeons but not for fractals.

Necro can be a good support…with plague u can hinder the enemy and sometimes escape Also running with spectral walk, and go ds+tainted shackles can really make a difference^^ same with putting mark#3 or #5…ok maybe we dont do long distance jumps but we have means of crippling the attacker

since u use heal power gear, u can use Well of Blood instead of the Blood Fiend. Aoe heal, and the Bone Fiend projectiles through the light field proc 2x condition removal. Also helps with transfusion(heal with ds #4) or deathly invigoration(heal on ds exit) to keep minions alive longer. You seem to use both, although id suggest to use the minion siphon trait which helps quite a lot, dps and sustain wise..

actually i like this signet, in difficult boss encounters u find yourself with a good amount of lf most of the time and dat feeling when u res the nub warrior…ive used it at mai trin, lupi, molten bosses,fire shaman fractal…granted with a good party its not really needed, but every class has a res ability right

i have a suggestion you could try, maybe with 30/25/0/0/15 traits + signet of spite , u can be even faster ?

(Target The Weak+the 6 condis (one of them being 5stacks of vuln) from spite signet give like 10-12% more dmg)

To observe that bug you have to do as following: Equip in a utility slot signet of spite. Use it on a mob, then get out of combat. Change the utility skill next to the signet (right or left), and watch the skill you just changed have the same cooldown as your signet of spite. From testing this happens only with signet of spite cooldown.

Necro main here, also have a ranger and roam both forums…seriously, fleshy is a joy to play but to be actually able to control your pet with f1/f3 (responsiveness), change from tanky pet to hard hitting pet, and the better dmg from the pet, proves ranger’s pets are way better than the fleshy..seriously you cant compare the MINION to the pet…it shows ignorance of both classes.

Just target your enemy and press the auto attack before you reach him. The minions will attack him as soon as you reach him…as for the bone minions, yeah they react slow cause their main purpose is blowing them up, for like 2k dmg. With heal well they give area retaliation, aoe poison and aoe weakness i think with staff #3 and #4 respectively. So if you have the trait 20% cd on minions, blow them up and then summon then again, if not maybe the wurm is a better fit. Personally i have the most fun playing with minions

PVT gear is good for MM, (maybe with a mix of assassins for more prec)
Also rampager’s gear is good for hybrid setup , 30/30/x/x/10 and scepter+dagger/axe-focus.

hmm, good traits for wvw would be ritual of protection, staff mastery, greater marks, reaper protection traits from death magic trait line, master of terror+foot in the grave (soul reaping line), focused rituals,chilling darkness,terror (curses trait line), close to death/dhuumfire, spiteful marks and spiteful removal (power trait line). There are also traits that give retaliation through ds/healing which i find useful, like spiteful vigor and spiteful spirit.

Also about wvw, staff is a must imo, and if you prefer running with zerg wells + focused rituals are probably the best way to go. Minions suck, at least till october :P
