I’m surprised no one mentioned this lil’ gem here. It’s the most engineer-y looking thing for me, at least. It matches my gear, too.

I guess it happens to depend on what kind of engineer look you are going for, steampunk or futuristic.
The shield is cool but I don’t think it fits the engineer model though. Plus who would put a book on a shield?? I feel like its going to be ripped/burned/disintegrated if I try to block with it. :X

These weapons are unique in appearance, require some resource gathering but aren’t as hard as legendary weapons and can still make you stand our from the more common weapons. I do believe these are “In-between”
Edit: Unless you referred to these weapons as “mist” weapons then my bad lol
I see that engies are a class that rely on boons to help them fight, like guardians. Then there are some other classes that do not have as much access to boons but have natural strength like thieves and warriors. I assume the trade off is that without boons, engies and guards are weaker than other classes but with boons, they are surpassed.

It could be, or the gears there can also be just to rotate the turret, hard to say
I have tried similar builds and personally I’ll rather have a full set of runes of strength rather than a hybrid set of runes. I mean you miss out a lot of power at runes 3 and 5 and an extra total 5% damage imo seems to make up the extra set of might that you get from hybrid rune builds.
I would say just a new kit of pure rifles turrets just the way they are now, except without the overcharge.

Did I hear wrong and he said that you can actually transmute light armor skins on to heavy armor and then have a heavy armor character wear that gear? I would love to have some of the medium ranger gear on my Necro lol. (Or heavy plate ;p)

While they are fixing the rifle turret, how about actually putting three barrels on it like the icon shows? Because the it’s current look of a sausage maker on a tripod is rather laughable.

I have thought of this too, but came to the conclusion that while engies are not physically strong or naturally attuned to magic, they are the smartest class in tyria and use that knowledge to fight
I forgot from what interview but at one point they said that the opportunity cost is too high (Low or high I get confused) if aoe attacks do 8/10 as much damage as normal attacks. That got me thinking, most of out auto attacks are aoe so what would that mean for skills such as flame jet? They cannot just nerf it to 6/10ths as much as other auto attacks or it’ll be worthless. I really doubt its just going to be a flat dmg reduction to all aoes, it will probably go to specific types.
But Mesmers are getting some new definatly OP skills.

You will never have this on this game becouse there is no monk or a support class, instead of having a game with team play they created a selfish game.

You don’t need a dedicated healer to make team gameplay. Having support is enough and there are many professions that can be build for support. Whether they are up to par yet that is another story.

The way I see it:
What we pay for kits: weapon swap lower kit damage, utility slot.
What we pay for having a class specific mechanic, the toolbelt: Well we shouldn’t be forced to pay anything, thats a class mechanics for penguin’s sake.
Why? Cause everyone knows builds defining traits should be grandmaster traits worth 30 points such as natural vigor and automated bomb dispenser, not some lowly traits such as static discharge and kit refinement!
I have noticed this too, so when I do want to lvl up I am forced to make my character as offensive as possible. When I play bunker..the points..theyre so little. So I agree something has to be done about it
Edit: Although one time I did get a very high score in capicorn from continuously killing someone trying to take the underwater point lol

Thieves have mobility in ways that outclass swiftness, they don’t really need it when their gap closers and shadowsteps do it better. Plus having swiftness does not really mean mobility. Take engies for example, perma swiftness yet are a slow slow class.
They have already stated that they are going to reduce the amount of rng an engie has. Its planned for the March patch.
I think your are basically asking to play engineer. You just don’t know it yet
Its not faceroll, its most damaging builds are always being nerfed.
Its unique. Toolkits and turrets and what not.
Decent at pve.
Aoe- Has plenty, try flamethrower.
Speed: 10 points in traits to get speedy kits gives you perma swiftness

For those who don’t know, explosive shot has an incorrect tooltip. It does say it creates a bleeding aoe but instead the aoe is the direct damage. In the video I got barely in range range so that only the explosive shots hits the golem (Which is why it says miss when I do damage). The aoe still triggers traits and such though.
Wait, when is the march update again?
It seems the problem is that in the upcomin patch 100 nades will be nerfed while turrets buffed, but turrets have sucked for so long that its near impossible to imagine them as viable and/or competitive. We have to wait until patch to see how much is changed before judging.

Will male cof medium shoulderpads ever display correctly with the rest of the armor?
In pve maybe, in pvp never. There are builds out there horribly unbalanced. One example is the infinite dodge underwater thief. And finishing off people underwater is a pain, especially against rangers.
Yeah putting a slider would be awesome in helping me live my pyromaniac dream! too bad it seems too complicated for what the current skills are capable of
It seems that most likely, turret rifle is going to have a direct buff to damage so this can possibly be the best time to ask. May I suggest it gets a rate of fire increase instead? Watching a turret shoot faster is much more pleasing to the eye, makes it seem like its actually doing damage! Think of it as a visual buff as well
There are two ways to fix this current situation. Either nerf eles or buff other classes up to par. Im sure everyone would rather prefer the buff, and I really hope that is what devs are working on right now instead.
Too bad they didnt talk about gadgets though, many of them need some help.
I never got 24k damage on someone. But I did with my thief.
Like I said early on when 100nade became popular, I don’t care if they tone it down. I’m not a fan of one shotting build in mmo, even if I roamed quit a bit with 100nade (it was fun for me, but I’m sure it wasn’t for others).
But I wonder : Why remove it from engineer, and not from other classes? Shatter mesmers (might get nerfed so), DD thief, 100b Warrior (tho they aren’t that bad).
And if you are removing it to us, give us something else to make up for it. Not like 100nade was FOTM in tPvP.
I think its pretty sad that they don’t want engies to do high damage at all. Playing whackamole with our builds that show damage potential, their class philosophy on us to have damage tax, and so on while other classes are left untouched.
Granted I’m pretty excited that turrets might start showing potential soon but knowing that we’ll never be a dd class saddens me.
Yes, probably genius. There are some people who have them, we’re just too smart to display them. Everyone wants to kill the engi, especially if he’s got the title. Best to let them think you’ll be a free kill.
Why would everyone want to kill the engi?
Usually seen as a weak class. you know, cant run way from a fight as easily as others, pretty slow, and if you got him down hes not going anywhere.
Well I would say use dual pistols to level up since you like them, you would probably enjoy the game more that way. To use them effectively though search for armor with condition damage. And every ten or so levels you should be buying a new set of armor at trading post, its very cheap there and makes the game easier.
Ha wow well that makes choosing traits easier :S
We already have backstabbing self cc skills we dont need to take it from our traits too! Though in this case selfstabbing would seem more appropiate

Usually it gets a lot of flak, but has anyone else found it to be responsive recently, as in it doesn’t have hangtime anymore. Or am I imagining stuff?
I use flamethrower all the time, I keep moving around the targets to line them up the best, and I run a condition/bunker build that profits from critical hits. Getting those on five enemies instead of three 20 pulses for each skill use would sure make me happy, but I don’t feel impaired without it.

You wont hit them hard but still.
Its 3 because its a pulsing skill which is different than AoE skills.

This bug has been around forever with still no update. Activating supply crate while having 6 lyssa runes does not give you the lyssa boons.
Is there any update if this is being worked on? I really want to try that combo :/
