All turrets need to be inside 1 kit,.
Their traits need to not be spread across the entire engineeer tree in a totally illogical and un-buildable way.
They need vastly better ai.
They need several seconds of invulnerability on placement so they do anything before they evaporate.
I agree with them being in one kit, I hope if they’re still reading this thread, they take it into serious consideration.
Karl, will rifle turret have some more hp to go along with the damage? because you know…it gets destroyed pretty easily as of right now
It sounded good for engies, getting buffs and what not Plus overall better condition damage
Wait is our rifle weapon damage going to increase, or rifle turrets? It is kinda unclear.
they said rifle turret.
There goes my hopes. Either way rifle turret buff is still good.
What do you mean by “regardless if you hit something or not.”? So as long as you attack while in stealth you get revealed?
I missed it but this sounds very interesting
Glad rifle is getting some love
Woops, Yes I meant glory
Is there a site that tells me what are the different it rewards between, say a copper wolf chest versus a gold wolf chest?
I’m trying to figure out how to spend my glory effectively but can’t if I can’t tell what are the different items between copper/silver/gold

Be able to equip kits in the secondary weapon slot. I don’t mean taking them away from utility slots, just be able to equip one on the weapon slot, freeing up utilities of you plan on only using one extra kit anyways. Then if you want more just put them on utility slots.
One extra utility is not going to make engineers op, and seems reasonable enough to me.
If engineers could put out the same amount of crying as thieves did with the rng skills from steal they would probably change something..
Steal isnt rng. it varies based on the class you steal from. But its always the same thing for each class.
Lol well simply, I was making a point. Engies have to cry louder to be heard. If thieves could change it for theirs, then so can other classes. (Back then the item you stole from a player wasn’t always the same thing http://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Steal&direction=prev&oldid=444714)
I’m not too sure but didn’t mesmers suffer from too much rng in the beginning too until they started to complain?
(edited by Penguin.5197)
For the love of god please change this. I kittening beg of you. It’s driving me insane
Do you understand what it’s like a-net? when I lose or when a fight because of sheer kittening LUCK?
I’ve thrown elixir S to stealth downed teammates before. I have won and lost games with that single ability alone because of RNG. Don’t even get me started on elixir X. Or even our heal. “oh, a thief is about to gib you? HAVE SOME MORE kittenING SWIFTNESS LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL”
RNG IS NOT FUN RNG IS NOT FUNRNG IS NOT FUN RNG IS NOT FUNRNG IS NOT FUN RNG IS NOT FUNRNG IS NOT FUN RNG IS NOT FUNRNG IS NOT FUN RNG IS NOT FUNRNG IS NOT FUN RNG IS NOT FUNRNG IS NOT FUN RNG IS NOT FUN
Yes, I am kittening mad.
Lol other classes would be mad too if they had to deal with rng. Imagine if thieve’s steal skill gave them an rng wep. Their outcry would be so loud arenanet would have to change that mechanic asap.
A greatsword. I really want to equip the chainsaw skin one I have on my engie.
All the while engies just stare at other classes running around with their gap closers in envy. Engies got very screwed in that department.
Yes it is normal for any Glass canon build.
Successful burst = kill
Failed burst = deathThere is not much balance centered on 1v1, its more on group play.
You’re an elementalist, you should have one of the best escape/mobility abilities of any profession. Something a lot of people complain about. With that, you should easily be able to recover and come back.
That should be true, but failing at burst does not mean death for thieves. If they fail they can just as easily stealth and retreat.
Imo all burst from all classes should be toned down a bit (With compensation of course)
Also one last thing:
http://www.gw2armor.com/human/female/medium_list.php
Out of all the medium female armors, there is only 1 (the cult t3 one, or 2 total if people are hellbent on counting named armor) armor that can be counted as revealing out of 23 possible armor sets.
That’s saying something about MMOs in general, not that GW2 is better for it.
Real life standards suck. Why don’t we get searched and list items acquired before going through every Asura gate, eh? True to life, woo!
If you can’t keep your kitten in your pants and out of your head, go watch some prons. The sturdiest armor in the game shouldn’t look like kittening hooker gear. Appealing to horny teenagers < not degrading yourselves and your game.
If people want skin, keep it to town clothes. Y’know, the ones you wear when you’re not out being mauled by undead, dragons and undead dragons.
Haha I knew that last line would grab someone. But anyways theres plenty of armor for medium females (Since medium is shown here) that isn’t revealing at all. You can do crafted/farma/catacombs/arah/coe/ hotw/se/ta/wvw and so on.
And good sir/mam I did say it was hot while not being revealing.
Really I think it’s the male version that got kitten here. Yet another long coat as if every other set didn’t already have a long coat. I want male leather chest piece that stops at the waste please! My Charr engi’s legs need to be seen, they are strong and powerful, why must they be shrouded in ugly bulk!
Yes do away with long coats for medium armor! >:( Long coats here, long coats there, long coats everwhere!
That’s actually really covered up by mmo standards. Heck it even is by real life standards, I’ve seen girls with less clothes than that.
Now if that’s what you are actually complaining about that we need less clothes then I agree
That armor on top is hot but not revealing. Gw2 doesn’t have any armor that resembles this:
Wait till they add the next round of legendaries.
I really don’t see how it could be anything other than a kitten looking shotgun.
Hmm well it can turn out to be the rifle version of quip, or one of those purple spectral weapons like lysa. Maybe a gatlin gun style rifle. Heck you never know.
Possible answers:
1. For ride the lightning
2. For riding in asura golems
3. Witch broom
Or..they can make the toss elixir junk linger when it hits the ground for more chances at getting the buffs you need (like chaos storm). I mean who is going to stop attacking to gamble for a chance of one stack of might? freaking really?
Its a trick question! None of the gadgets are spells! :P but chrispeh got it right.
If we wanted to compare supply crate, it should be to other skills with equal cooldown.
Rampage, guardian tomes, thieves guild, tornado, fire greatsword, moa morph, lich form and plaque.
I find that untraited, supply crate is way better than rampage, tornado and fgs in a bigger variety of situations and is comparable enough to thieves guild (Based on my own spvp experience that I can counter thieves guild with supply drop). And when traited for more supply drops and rifled turrets barrels, it can easily become one of the best 180 sec cd skills and destroys builds with low defense.
Super Hyperbeam Alpha > The Predator
I just wish it made pew pew laser sounds.
Its a cool weapon but I think it only fits if you are an asura, doesn’t seem right on a charr.
I’m going for the predator, if not only because I can something thieves can only dream of: Play as an assassin with a sniper >:D
Thanks, I’m trying! As for other discussions like this, not really. I try to encourage my work mates to get on the forums more, but they are very busy – especially the balance folks. I work hard too, but I try to schedule in time to go onto the forums and interact instead of just lurk and skim topics. Also I try to take the opportunity of loading screens to steal a quick glance and see if there is anything I could post quickly in… however that doesn’t always go as planned and I end up spending too much time on the forums, lol.
That’s a shame, for sure other classes too (ex engies ;D) would love to hear what is going on with them but its always great to hear whats going on for any class so thanks for dropping by! It helps keep morale up for many!
The funny part is our elites are so bad in general, we tend to say things like “mortar isn’t anywhere near as good as supply drop” often forgetting how rubbish supply drop is compared to say daggerstorm.
Idk about that, supply drop gives a 2 sec stun, med packs to heal and turrets for damage. Overall its pretty good, a little too good for engies, sometimes I’m afraid its a possible candidate for nerfs :/
I would like to drop this in, watch it from 2:50 onwards.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWm8dTrEyWM
“unlike other games stealth is not unlimited”
“its not unlimited it should be used with careful forethought”
The current stealth in game acts nothing like intended, something definitely has to be changed.
(Also thanks to the person who found this video for me again)
They were never buffed again after the 30% nerf and yeah other class can kill in less than 2 secs, why not us?
I like this idea very much. Creative killing with traps sounds way more fun than just plain kills
And for silverfire, you can still kill people, just with more awesome methods
I just did this one a few days ago, she damaged all my armor down to yellow before I decided to screw it all and just keep hitting her with the gs and ignore the mobs. Was definitely the hardest fight I ever had in this game (At least I won in the end).
Hopefully game devs will one day learn invisibility isn’t a fun mechanic to play against, no matter how cool it seems. Its too late for gw2, the mechanic is already there and there is realistically no way its going to be removed. The only hope I see here is gw devs implementing a hard counter to it, at least then it can turn into a game like chess, where you got to at least try to outplay each other and not just have one person unable to do much until the other person feels like attacking/retreating .
Fear goes through Stability.
It shouldn’t be able to, it says right there on skill description it makes you immune to fear.
the mortar is a nice concept it just needs a bit of a kickstart say about 25% damage increase except for the #5 skill and about 2000 range so it can actually be used to defend keeps and such in wvw
Yup just those two things would help make the mortar more viable.
Swag is right, as a side note its THE only chest medium armor for Charr at least that doesn’t have a trenchcoat style sides that hang down on you
I was gonna say se armor is also an exemption but upon closer inspection its just a trenchcoat in disguise.
I love how heavies get different styles of armor while mediums get different styles of trenchcoats
By the way so you guys wont get confused, this thread was a parody under the spvp section but was moved here.
I am deeply disappointed you did not mention turrets at all. Deeply. Disappointed.
Also you forgot the period at the end of topic title
(edited by Penguin.5197)
I’ve never heard of this problem too, my experience is like fatezero’s experience O.o
I like the fact that whenever something is illogical or hard to explain, the answer is always magic.
What?? You guys actually thought my previous attempt had some pretty good colors? Well I guess its true what they say…beauty is in the eye of the bees holder.
EXCEPT THIS GUY MAKES THE EXEMPTION!
Makes perfect sense to me. Charr are experts at masking their tracts :S
For a new ranged weapon either giving them the rifle or a crossbow.
Rifles? Watcha talking about? Thieves can already use rifles
Can we please have another game mode that doesn’t revolve around trying to turn it into an e-sport? At least gw1 had team deathmatch.
When fighting another player, you can usually see their boons and debuffs under their life bar and by knowing what they have it helps you fight appropriately. The problem is when someone has a lot of buffs it makes it way harder to keep track of the more dangerous buffs, like lets say stability or retaliation and in a battle you can’t just stare at your opponent’s buffs for more than a second! I suggest allowing us to customize the buff colors the way it would help us more, like changing the background color of stability from yellow to red. Now it can stand out more in a sea of yellow and allow for faster reaction time!
I use it on WvW when defending a keep / tower. Once (yes, only once) I remember firing off the barrage (#5) while defending Bay on our borderland. Three guys flew off the cliff and plunged to their deaths. That was funny xD
Ha knocking down people is always fun~
What we are missing? The SPY and the SNIPER, but we can play those guys as engineers (even if we can throw elixirs as the sniper throws jarate).
But, worst of all, we are missing the HEAVY! The most awesome symbol in the entire game! We have to fix it.
How?
Time to riplace the mortar with a MINIGUN!XD
Yeah, we too want to touch Sasha!XD
We can cloak (although limited) so we just need a minigun and sniper kit and we’re set!
They can use help, but I don’t think engies are severely underpowered as you make them out to be (As long as you either go 100nades or bunker at least).
by the way, perma-stability for warriors is complete garbage. you can do absolutely nothing to that as a rifle engineer.
I just wish the stability icon stood out more, I usually have to search for it when fighting a guardian or warrior because I know how threatening it is to engies, and for guardians its usually hidden under a whole mess of other boons. It would help if they allowed us to personally customize the color of the boons (Like say I wanted to make stability red to make it stand out). But anyways with a rifle you should still be able to immobilize someone with stability.
Pros
- Great for interrupting bosses
I never considered it to be a good interruptor, Care to explain more on that?
Hah well gratz! And if I had known sooner it was a pinkie pie party I wouldve paid more attention :S
I absolutely love the concept as is; it’s a portable siege engine that wreaks absolute hell on groups of people on top of working great over long range.
The concept is great though I don’t see it quite yet living up to its long range nature. I would say its base 1400 range is quite debate able over how good that actually is. Screenshot below shows its farthest range under best conditions (on flat land), and that distance is easily traversed by a gap closer, probably faster than what it takes for a mortar shot to hit the ground.
Granted there are times when mortar can shine (Like your story) but those instances are few and far in between
