It’s not only on range, melee too. I noticed it a lot @ teq. No damage numbers pop up and combat log empty. It’s not limited to ranger only … i’ve seen it on guardian gs, thief’s dagger and many more. It started since the new trait patch.
Must have been something gone wrong with the network coding.
What i can tell you is … get over it. The game is build on old engine that literally bugs out everywhere.
Fractals and dungeons are massive grind, where Anet doesn’t really care about them anymore. Even with masteries later on HoT, it will be only smoke screen of gating while you grind the same bosses and instances repeatedly till your eyes fall out and finger gone numbs.
Take the glitch whenever you can, save yourself some time. Spend it on your family and friends. Go outside or something.
They’ll eventually fix it sometimes in the future, then you’ll get to play properly and watch how pug scrubs wiping out @ Mossy @ high level.
Believe it or not glitching is like a norm in this game, i take it op is new to the game.
(edited by Pino.5209)
There is no such thing as play as you want. It’s a marketing gimmick that get you to open up your wallets.
The design of the game encounters mostly do not require full support as into healing or tanking or cc. Only dps with minimum support equipped+active defense like dodging.
The price GW2 pay for getting rid of trinity. Deal with it. There are no clear benefit on going deep into tanking or healing, you either go full ham on dps or let rng, lag, cds and exhaustion get the better of you by trying to be jack of all trades.

When doing CoF Path 2, unable to attack Eternal Flame with Mace AA, even when standing right on top of it. Had to use Whirling Hammers or get OOC and swap to Hammer to do any damage to it. Might not have occurred until after the Eternal Flame started to show visible damage.
That’s not only a problem restricted to Rev. Most 1h mh weapon have this problem. Ranger’s mh sword, Thief’s mh dagger and sword, Warrior’s mh axe, etc. You can hit it but the positioning is a bit tricky.
As for bug Selfless Amplification GM under Salvation, does not work.
its not actually the first ‘Beta’ though’ is it right?
It is. Before this it was a stress test.
If this is the current state of Rev @ dev end, probably the predicted August isn’t a realistic date. Unless, the beta is older build … then this beta is not really a beta, more of preview.
Hello All,
I had high hopes after playing the Revenant at EGX Rezzed. After Playing the first beta, I am so disappointed.
I have tried a zerker and condi build with all weapon types. All I have seen is crazy low DPS, to the point where it took about 8 mins to kill a vet with other players.
That and no underwater weapon hardly make it much of a Beta.
From my perspective, I wish Arena net had not bothered with this weekend. I would have preferred them admitting that we are a long way away from hot completion.
After what I have seen today, I doubt very much that I will be playing a rev from day one, if even at all.
For what it is worth, I am seriously questioning whether I have a future in this game. (No you cannot have my stuff).
I guess that’s what you get for blind loyalty when the overlords have a culture of bleeding gamblers dry when you are a bit of a gambler yourself.
It is utterly dumbfounding how many people don’t understand the purpose of a beta test.
It isn’t to market a finished product. Its to find flaws and address them.
You know, “Hey devs, it looks like the revenant has a problem with damage output you may need to address” is a great way for a beta tester to report issues they discover.
Your response isn’t That of a beta tester. It’s that of someone looking for a bnigh complete product, which this isn’t.
I suggest you and others of your persuasion look up what a beta test and beta testers are. It certainly seems you either don’t get it, or don’t have it in you.
While you are mostly correct, you are blaming the wrong people. The gaming industry has started using beta testing as a marketing tool rather than what it is supposed to be. You can’t really blame gamers at this point. You should be saying, “it is dumbfounding how the game companies don’t know the purpose of a beta test” or “it is dumbfounding that these companies continue to knowingly misuse beta tests”.
If this is marketing tool beta, then it has failed miserably. I’ve been in 2 betas the first and this one. The 2nd one was a joke of a decision to put access through rng. Bottom line is Rev has failed to impress ever since the beginning.
This is a terrible marketing idea … if it is one.
It’s not dps problem only, I put on healing gears n set it up as healing support with staff, god it’s awful to play.
(edited by Pino.5209)
I suspect swords will come if shiro is indeed the 4th spec, which strong indications show
Remember, the beta isn’t the full Rev, so plenty to be added yet
That’s pretty fair. I know it’s a beta but I thought all the specs were released/revealed already for it.
We have not released all weapons and legends for the Revenant yet. Right now there is definitely a gap in the playstyles offered as we haven’t discussed the more pure DPS focused setup yet. soon tm.
You also, unfortunately, haven’t released weapon swap for the Revenant yet. Right now there is definitely a need for it because the playstyles offered feel kitten. I fear even the DPS focused setup won’t be enough to change my opinion going off what I have played thus far of it… unless the DPS legend is extremely OP, it will fall short.
Rev is melee heavy oriented class. How in the world they can think they can get away with them stuck with 1 weapons. There are lots of pve and pvp encounters that require weapon swapping. Imagine the potential of being kited to death on pvp.
It’s not only they haven’t released everything. The whole class seems to be poorly designed so far. Lots of the released traits looks very very underwhelming. If this is their current state of dev for rev class, it still very far from completion.
There is a problem with axe. Axe 4 skills, sometimes bug out n doesn’t register hit.
It’s closing gap skill. I suspect it’s the same problem we have with the like of Rush or Leap of Faith.
Can any1 confirm this? I tested it, it doesn’t seem to work at all. I was wearing Magi. No boost at all, combat and out of combat.
Salvation, GM trait btw.
I was wishing the whole time that. Switching your legendary meant switching your weapon too. It’s really hard to not have the option of switching to range or melee.
This is very true. Especially on a heavy melee oriented dominant class. Guardian and Warrior can swap to range from melee. A Rev can only choose 1, which is very very bad, considering there are encounters that need lots of swapping, fractals come to my mind straight away. Indeed on pvp too, a melee heavy class need option to switch melee to range in combat.
Bad design tbh.
(edited by Pino.5209)
The current problem that I see, is that weapons were created to fit with a particular legend, staff have quite a few supportive options with not that much dps since it fits with the support legend.
All weapons need to be able to do competitive dps no matter what legend you are using. If i want to use staff, but use it with the upcoming “power” legend, I should still be able to do competitive dps with it, while having the perks of the heals dropping from AA and the AoE condi cleanse.
The main point of this thread is that core classes aren’t penalized for taking certain weapons for a certain playstyle. Guardian can do great dps with GS no matter the utility build. Ranger can pew pew with LB whether they are running pet skills, traps, or shouts. Warrior can do awesome dps with GS whether they are running shouts or banners. So why can’t the Revenant do awesome dps with staff or hammer, while running ANY legend?
This doesn’t seems right by single bit. Ranger LB for instance you have to invest on Marksman with arrow pierce and cd. Otherwise the LB dps will hit rock bottom. Ranger’s GS is locked to Beastmaster. These are just some example on 1 class (take a good look @ warrior too, same stuffs). One of the fundamental problem with GW2 design that certain weapon is locked to certain trait in order for them to be effective.
With rev, they basically add another layer, in form of Legendaries Stances. For example, Staff is tied to Legendary Centaur which are tied to Salvation to be effective. That’s 3 layers for single weapon.
So, no, like other core classes, you won’t get competitive dps across all legends with a certain weapon.
It’s GW2 game design in general, so deal with it.
(edited by Pino.5209)
It’s a pvp skill that has no place on pve tbh. Went to Curshed Shore watch all the revs use it on Giant Legendary the whole fight, lol. Horrible.
Bad design for pve.
The only thing i like about the class right now is the animation.
The class still feels slow and clunky overall, even more than a guardian.
Perhaps increase the mace axe attack speed a little. They feel bit slow for 1h weapons.
Overall damage output is horrid but that has something to do with incomplete traits, or probably incorrect damage modifier.
This is more of preview than beta. No much to test on the class, it just feels far from complete.
The staff animation is perfect n fluid btw.
Dying 20 times in AC is atrocious. Whatever variation of gears or traits builds, the only difference will be the length of encounter, especially @ introductory easy dungeon like AC.
The longer an encounter, the more likely the chance you’ll encounter those deadly oopsie moments with bad timing on crucial cd, running out of endurance, reaction, lag spike etc.
Just go full ham on dps. This is what this game about in majority, cc and supports are minor stuffs that require precise timing.
Take a good look at silverwaste mobs, you wanna kill them asap. Won’t be any difference @ HoT xpac too i bet.
(edited by Pino.5209)
How about this? Since every1 already knows by now that you won’t get to keep it. Don’t loot and throw stuffs into MF to save yourself from the agony. Self control ppl, Seriously.
Auuuuw, that hurts, was expecting August. No, new content for whole year gonna be suck big time. This game is on Zzzzzzzzzzz mode right now.
Well it says “This summer”, so August – September is probably what they meant at the time. It’s most likely a slip he made though, and probably didn’t intend to say it. My guess is that we’ll get a release date or another major feature announcement at Gamescom, early August, but that’s a guess?
I see, all good again then
.
Auuuuw, that hurts, was expecting August. No, new content for whole year gonna be suck big time. This game is on Zzzzzzzzzzz mode right now.
A lot of players are using zerk builds, now that the stats are gone from traits and all stats are in the armor, wont a lot of people find it harder to survive?
No, it’s easy. Nothing changed. Almost 3years old dungeons/fractals, players with exp will not have problem surviving, not before and obviously not after patch.
Zerker is not only still viable as far as I know it is still meta.
It still probably is. Try this, find your profession’s proper trait, add a little seasoning of burn on the side of full zerk and watch the whole dungeon melt in front of you.
Ppl thought only world bosses like teq melt because of new condi damage.
Zerk is doing the same thing in dungeons.

Does anyone know: If I buy ultimate edition, how would that affect my current account? Will I use the ultimate expansion over my first purchased game or do I have to install the game again, using the new KEY and then upgrade to ultimate?
I bought it, so i can tell you. When you click buy in game and complete your purchase, whatever package that you selected in game will be tied to your account automatically, you don’t have to do anything else. An e-mail will be sent to you with the Key for that package to confirm your purchase and stated your account is tied to this key+you don’t have to do anything. It means, the free vanilla game basically disappear into thin smoke from your package.
If you are ignoring the reality that $50 is rip off, the ultimate package offers better value since it gives 4000gems+1 char slot(worth 800gems).
The 4000gems will be delivered straight away after you finished your payment. Along with 2 extra account slots, 1 being for the beta.
Doesn’t take away fact $50 is kinda rip off.
I’ve been supporting GW2 with lots of regular gem purchase over the years, so it doesn’t matter for me anyway. I just volunteer, lol.

No truly competitive person/gamer will say 5% or 10% is trivial. That figure can mean dead or alive, win or lose.
Why majority of gw2 players always brush the difference off as trivial? because it’s a casual game for casual gamers.Yeah except this game isnt a game which is win or lose based on a minor stat difference on gear. So it really doesnt matter. It is trivial unless you are a mix/maxer. And if you are a min/maxer you should already have/want ascended gear. The complaints are flawed.
Also using food and potions still gives more than switching to ascended. So yeah people are complaining over nothing. Especially when most of the people complaining probably dont even use good food.
It wasn’t a complaint btw. And you just proved my point, casual spotted
. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing lol.
Yeah im so casual ive only got 6 ascended sets out of the 9 I want.
Lack of dragonite in fractals/dungeons. :<
Well, at least your response was typical casual :P. Still my point stand. Dragonite ores? easy, run around in circle @ silverwaste following chest train lol, very casual. 2-3 rounds will get you a stack. /chuchu
I’ve got it! One of the devs must have found out I used to play Rappelz, looked at how that game did end game skill tree choice and then brought the idea here (and then ruined it even more).
I dunno what rappelz talent tree looks like, googling it up shows as a 2006 game. Pretty sure this is sarcastic post.
Torgaard brought up WoW’s talent/trait doesn’t mean it’s about WoW’s talent/trait. It’s pretty much generally he was using WoW as an example of what old days tree system looks like. From your words your Rappelz seems to fell into this category.
Bottom line is … gw2 is taking a huge step backward.
i guess so mr pino
it is sad bc i really dont lik the idea of a tredmill. they are like polictians and anet is wors than obama
I’m not saying anet is worse than Obama lol, Obama is just another typical politician.
Bottom line is, everywhere you go, ppl will say everything are flowers, roses, kisses and hugs to get you to open up your wallet. Manifesto means jack.

i read the manifeso and this change seems to voilate the manifeso
i dont want to alway grind grind grind for gear thats why ibought gw2, 2 play and have fun not run in circals for gear
pls just undo the ascend gear leavin oragne gear at the top

Manifesto lol, was nothing but mere propaganda and hype to open up your wallet. Like your politicians running for elections, elected then backflip on everything they promised.

I’m not sure the problem is eliminating traits. The problem is you’ve just been back-doored by a Talent Tree system, and I don’t think most people realize it (yet).
Wah, i’ve never thought about it this way.
Now that you’ve mentioned it. Take a screenshot of the new trait, flip it anti-clockwise 90 degree. There we go, old school talent tree lol.
It is indeed being dumb down, being forced to take 3 of them make it even more obvious.
—
Actually being able to choose 3 out of 6 make it more like Rift Soul Tree system than wow’s old school talent tree. However, due to nature of guild wars 2 system when it comes to profession, there won’t be a clear cut change in role like Rift’s.
Disturbing, i came to GW2 from Rift back then, welcome to the past … i guess.
(edited by Pino.5209)
The traits are all more worthy of taking now, they have made every choice valid and have cut the pointless rubbish. You have more valid choices now just less pointless choices. Its a better move for diversity not worse.
This not entirely true. You have less choices and flexibility now. Less pointless choices, which you can’t avoid while being lock into a line, just because you want to get a specific useful trait in that line. I wouldn’t call it better move for diversity. It’s a better move to dumb down the traits, less complicated for the simple minded. Just like when they dumb down leveling, NPE. Not only this, the nerf bats that come with this new system is enormous, just to poor salt into the wound.
(edited by Pino.5209)
Yah, for sure we are losing flexibility with 3 lines system. I enjoy changing traits within same build to suit situations. These 3 lock on looks gonna be painful. You have to redo everything depending on circumstances. If only they were to introduce a way to save a preset build along with this new system or perhaps even with gears, it would mean a lot.
I’ve always felt Anet decision making has been poor and on down hill slide ever since the introduction of NPE, perhaps even further before that.
Looking at HoT, i’m not sure it will be up to the hype. We’ll be seeing more Maguuma stuffs that we’ve been seeing for the past couple of stagnant months. Masteries are nothing but content gating smoke screen imo. I’m not looking forward to the next trait patch and i’m starting to have serious doubt about the depth and quality of HoT.
We can only wait and see i guess.
(edited by Pino.5209)
lol @ Genlog. Bearbow and proud. Baddie spotted.
Ppl like you are the reason ranger getting the kicked n shoved from dungeons without question being asked upon joining.
/facepalm
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ranger
OP need to have a good read about ranger. Ranger in this game doesn’t mean a class that specialize in range weapon.
I swear to god anet needs to change the profession name just to avoid this kind of silly misconception.
Truth be told most range weapons in game are not as good as melee in term of sheer damage pve wise. So it’s not a ranger with longbow issue only.
guildwars comunity was always nice and greatfull overall, Anet has 10 years of it.
Stop living in the past, the golden age of online gaming where ppl actually being nice was long over. Welcome to the age of online trolls and ragers. GW2 community is no worse or better than any other online mmorpg out there. It’s just the era we are living in.
to say this game has the best online community is an overstatement by far.
You misread a few things, this being one xD
It’s your title lol, you left the sarcastic part out.
“Gw2 has the best MMO community?” would be more appropriate as sarcasm.
That quote you put, doesn’t say that you actually said it. It is actually being aimed at those generic post that say gw2 has the best community, hang around reddit and this forum and you’ll see a lot. There is a reason i didn’t quote you directly.
(edited by Pino.5209)
./facepalm
how much more warning do you need?
You got 1 in game right below the mail.
And when you enter to post on this forum, another 1 on the top as sticky.
Would you like a pop up in the middle of your screen while playing every 5 mins?
Just let them know you needed the heart quest, get it done and get out of there. Why they are mad easy? Because ppl grief and troll them a lot.
And OP, anet hates all kind of farming in game, because it hurts their gemstore. If every1 could easily farm their way to thousands of gold and just convert gold to gem for spending on gemstore, Anet would not make any money.
Silverwaste chest train is just what you so called as ‘toxic’, same like FG (ppl breaking train rage), same like CS, Queensdale, etc whatever farming you can think of in this game.
(edited by Pino.5209)
GW2 has the best community is a total myth. It’s not much difference than any other mmorpg.
One of the contributing factor that make you think as such is the nature of the game where cooperation is needed rather than competition, heck even nodes farming there are no competition.
Like Teniz said there are fair share amount of rude ppl in this game from open world pve, dungeons, fractals to pvp. If you haven’t seen it, you obviously haven’t played long and extensive enough.
I’ve played WoW, AoC, WHO, Rift. No different, rude ppl on every corner.
It’s the nature of online gaming community these days. Yah there are nice and good ppl here and there, but to say this game has the best online community is an overstatement by far.
(edited by Pino.5209)
Looks like the elite spec announcement is following this page pattern:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/
Mesmer Guardian Necro (confirmed) …. Ranger Ele Warrior Thief Engi (unconfirmed)
left right left right … order.
Happy.
Level increase is a pointless cliche overdone time sink content for an expansion, given almost every1 already familiar with the game already. It serves no purpose. Efforts should be invested on other contents.
Removing the cap should fix most of not all issues I think.
Then again, could the solution really be that simple though? The fact Anet hasn’t done anything about conditions in this game makes me think the solution might not be as simple as it seems.
It won’t solve it. The queue system on that stacking will still slow down condition damage user, for once, knowing a white damage user can easily give out not optimised condition just of their traits and weapons skill alone. Then there are condition optimized users queuing on top of each other. Kaboom slow.
They need to redesign how the entire conditions work entirely. There is a reason they still can’t fix this glaring issue till now. They can’t without major overhaul.
(edited by Pino.5209)
Or you know what… Some could consider this as trolling…
Maybe just deleting +Pow +Prec +Fer gear would solve problem (in exchange offering wider array of +Pow +Prec +X and +Pow +Fer +X (honestly I was looking for something like +Pow.main + Prec +defensive Stat, and there are none, the closest one is zealot with healing power (least favourable option I think), and it is not even easy to get -> as it is event stuff))…
Due to how these work, by multiplying their effectiveness (stacking these 3 at this same time gives relatively higher boost than stacking only 2).It would remove zerk meta (as there wouldn’t be zerk gear anymore), and maybe give some space for condi builds…
The problem with conditions on pve has never been zerk gears to begin with.
It goes deeper than that 25 stacks caused by engine limitation. The 25 stacks problem is just the tip of the ice berg.
Just for example, take 2 classes, white damage GS Warrior and condition bleed Shortbow Ranger.
GS Warrior usually investing 6/6/0/2/0 or any slight variation of that, on Arms early, there is Precise Strikes that cause bleed on crit hit. That GS warrior does not necessarily wearing zerk gear, you can use pvt for instance.
Shortbow Rangers heavily investing on Wilderness Survival, Carrion/Rabid gears, with tons of condition damage, bleed on that shortbow.
That Warrior’s (who does not necessarily a zerk geared) bleed will slow down the ranger’s Shortbow bleed due to queue and stack limitation. The warrior’s bleed isn’t optimized for condi and the ranger’s one is. Throw in whatever class you can think of into this and you’ll have one gigantic cluster poop.
PVE condition problem is chaotic one, to the point weapons, utility, skills, elite skills and traits inter classes causing problem on top of that 25 stacks. It’s one big gigantic utter mess and design flaw. Everything is stacking, queuing, overlapping.
It has never been about zerk gears.
(edited by Pino.5209)
Just look at the past changes:
-nerf to ferocity
-nerf to FGS
-nerf to norn racial elite
-tomorrow a nerf to mightThe dmg that you think is ok and “skillful” is just too high compared with everything else that it bypasses the easy hp spong bosses. I am glad that Anet is slowly walking towards the direction of reducing the direct dmg output in the game. Next step would be add more unavoidable dmg like perma retal, auras, pulsing aoe, etc…
Sinister is a full offensive set but condis are still bad in a group. It is not the offensive stats that are broken right now, just zerker/assassin all the other stats are subpar.
This is so wrong in so many ways. The problem with bosses dying too quickly is not of zerk gears. It is the problem with the encounters scaling. Blaming dps is getting old and before you know it you’ll be dishing out damages by the scale of peas after all these nerfs.
-Nerf to ferocity is a minor nerf to zerk stats. Zerk is stat is primary power.
-Nerf to FGS is a long overdue bug fixed.
-Most elite skills in this game are next to useless due to long cooldown. There are no direct damage nerf here. Norn elite skills are used only for fun, no one is using it for direct damage dps.
-This latest nerf to might is much more of nerf to ppl wearing knight, soldier, rabid, carrion etc on pve sense in comparison to zerk. Might nerf doesn’t do much to zerk stats, just a minimum damage loss, keep in mind their crit is intact.
You see the problem with all these nerf changes? None of them addresses condition damage, which is the alternative to white damages (dominated by zerk(power+crit)).
If you nerved the damage output of white damages to the point of equivalent conditions damage (in current state), we’ll all be having problem killing stuffs, teq and 3xwurm for starters (given scaling doesn’t change too).
You are saying offensive stats not broken while pointing out condition dmg is useless in group and blaming zerk stats again. You are contradicting yourself there. There are two type of damage builds (relative to gears) in general in this game, you either go condi or white damage. Offensive condi is obviously broken due to game engine limitation.
It is very unlikely that any bosses couldn’t land a damage on a group, on instance like AC for example. The problem isn’t solely on zerk stats build killing too fast. There are lots other problems.
- Scaling of encounter is one. AC P2 boss still will die within time frame of 1 trap even without stacking on pillar, given the group know what they are doing. This is a scaling problem.
- People often forgot stacking on corner does not only optimize dps (limited range) by might stacking+other buffs, stacking also optimize (limited range) defensive buffs and healings, which often proc upon attacking. This is combat mechanic problem, it entices player to stack. Hence, Stack Wars 2.
This optimization of defensive and offensive buffs while stacking combine with poor encounter scaling cause bosses to die easily.
(edited by Pino.5209)
One of the issues I have with the this whole berserker argument is that it suppose to be justified by the lack of defensive stats, but by that same notion there should be a build of some profession that caps out damage wise in Rampager’s or the new Sinister gear as they equally lack defense. Then we get into the odd critical hit immune object bosses (that feel a bit lazy in that over all design).
One problem with no crit is that there are conditions that proc on crit. Giving higher armor and maybe less hp would be a good way to promote conditions a little bit, at least for bosses.
Condition damage problem boiled down to the limitation of the game engine. Shared, capped, redundant and queued of 25 stacks make it awful for group game play. Each classes should have had their own specific conditions to begin with to avoid queue and redundancy problem inter classes. Then condition damage should be on individual basis, no queue, no stacking, no 25 stack cap BS.
Even if condition damage become viable or fixed for group play, OP’s dilemma won’t be solved by much. The game will be majority a dps oriented game. OP is just taking a short cut by blaming zerk, which he confused for build, not gears. There are zerk gears with meta build around it. It doesn’t mean you can’t wear other gears with that meta build. Go wear a soldier or knight gears for instance, no 1 stopping you.
Look at silverwaste, at first you thought it’s challenging and toughness+vitality matter. Reality is it consist of spamfest and virtually no cd hostile npc all around. It’s hardly a survival fight, you still want to kill them ASAP.
Breaches and Vinewrath bosses are DPS fight (with hard timer), with few survival mechanic build for you.
Even the most difficult encounter 3xWurm is a DPS fight (with hard timer), survival mechanics are just extras.
Likewise, Teq.
It’s the very nature of mmorpg, dps dps dps. Even with holy trinity around on other mmorpg, players don’t like to spend an eternity killing stuffs. The problem with gw2 is without holy trinity, the focus on dps is even more obvious and amplified.
It’s not different on FPS games either, overpowered guns tend to be used and survival come down to who can kill faster, dps, given skill and tactic are on par.
OP, probably should play single player game like Dark Souls series or others.
(edited by Pino.5209)
We are asking for balance between Condi and White Damage especially on pve. All we are getting are nerf after nerf on white damages, change to ferocity nerf and now might nerf.
Condi will still suck on pve because of the 25 stack cap, regardless.
The problem with quick encounter has never been the amount of damage output from players. It’s the scaling and npc mobs balance on pve that are next to garbage.
Guess what? after this nerf, zerk will still be the meta.
What next? nerf all Power stat across the board? lol
What op called toxic is nothing new and pretty much one the many flaws of GW2 that most players turn a blind eye.
Almost everything in this game melt when there are too many players around.
It’s a combination of poor balance on event scaling and how boons stack increases dps on large scale crowd. Throw in tagging problem where the measurement stick is dps and dps only.
Everything that doesn’t have defiance is basically a pinata when there are lots of players around. Though the defiance mechanic itself is far from perfect.
The terms Zerg Wars 2, Stack Wars 2, Train Wars 2, etc … pretty much a reflection of the core of the game, especially on pve. Players want efficiency and effectiveness when farming. Whether Anet wants this by design or it’s just something they didn’t anticipate is another matter.
Bottom line is yes it’s pathetic mobs can be dead before they even can be rendered by the game engine on your screen. And, no, doubt they are going to do anything about it. It’s just the way it is.
1. Legendaries have the same stats as ascended, but you can change the stat type(zerker, knights, carrion, etc.).
2. It’s worth it if you really want it and not worth it if you don’t lol. Eternity has no advantages over Twilight/Sunrise.
lol I guess for my second question I’m going ask to ask this, does Eternity have better or unique special effects to it that make it look more appealing?
Beside the day/night changes on the sword and glowing end @ hilt and better footstep effect, the most noticeable and outstanding part imo is the aura surrounding the wielder body (the aura also changes day/night).
Eternity wielder aura is very different from twilight and sunrise. Twilight and Sunrise only give glow aura. Eternity’s aura on wielder is smoky, gorgeous.
The game is all about aesthetic, so the argument about it having same stats just totally goes out the window. Eternity has the best effect among all 3 legendaries GS. Worth it? imo, yes.
(edited by Pino.5209)
No to Season 3 LS.
LS is a cheap distraction content with close to zero replay value. The game at this stage feels stale and old. GW2 needs a proper expansion contents.
Beastmaster Might and Mighty Swap are kinda redundant, if you had Fortifying Bond which requires 3 points into Nature Magic, you wouldn’t have needed Mighty Swap. Plus boons duration on Nature Magic is very good if you wanted to stack might.
Predatory Onslaught for BeastMaster Might isn’t exactly good either. Give up 10% personal and 5% pet dps for 3 stack of might, which is actually personal might stacking instead of for the team like your setup claims to do. You’ll be single target dpsing quicker without using LB5 since cripple doesn’t buff your damage. The whole purpose of using Barrage is for the cripple so Predatory Onslaught can kick in on rapid fire burst, which your setup actually doesn’t have.
Trapper’s expertise is practically useless in term of team might stacking since stacking might usually means the party is stacking on top of each other anyway. Also your trap condi dps is lousy since you are wearing berserker, which means Trap Potency’s trap duration dps benefit is also lousy. I do realize you want to use the blast finisher from both your pet but the might won’t last long enough anyway.
That setup is far far away from optimum, to the point of actually bad, even if the purpose was to help bad pug with might stacking.
I can see why lots of ppl criticizing it.
+I just tried it bit, this setup is like Phalanx Strength Warrior, only way crappier. You can build 25 stack of might quickly for yourself but for others in your team it won’t reach 25 anytime soon before the end of fight. It relies on area of might from pet swapping, trap cool down and warhorn 5. The build up is slow for the team. One rng cc from boss on pet, that means might stacking for team is broken. The duration also short. The build up is even worse if you start your rotation LB.
So 0 might for team at beginning of fight since you used LB5. Swap weapons (still no might for team, sigil of battle is personal might). Trap down triggered by enemy, Pet activated (still no might for team, Mighty Swap is for pet), warhorn 5 (area of might-team), pet’s tail swap blast (area of might-team). Doh, awkward wait for trap, Trap down, switch pet (have to swap pet because tail swipe is 30sec cd, no might for team), pet’s tail swipe (area of might for team). Warhorn 5 won’t be ready by the time pet swap since the cd is longer than pet swap and trap.
You can build personal might fast but not for your team single handedly.

The headlight said that the topic is providing tips for dungeons.
Tips that are incorrect for results, are not tips to be either trusted or followed. With all due respect, not only your build is not efficient enough in comparison to the meta, it doesn’t even fulfill a role that any other class/build could do better.
Which, sadly, means that your build and tips are for nothing else but casual players that play for fun and therefore do NOT NEED any tips whatsoever.
Unfortunately, the 95% of this category are called … How was it … Oh ye, BEARBOWS.If you want to provide a tip for fun, classify it that way. If you want it to be on par with other “up to date builds” (see how I didn’t use meta?), then you have to bring a proof that supports up your statements.
On the other note, maths is a language that the mature people use for understanding each others’ findings on a TRUSTWORTHY, UNDERSTANDABLE and COMPARABLE basis. If you can’t accept this nature (or understand it), than I sincerely have no idea how do you dare to insult our community fun-less.If you find fun in literally bothering other players’ lives, using up their precious time, encouraging the rest of the community to copy this behavior, then I hereby declare the wise and friendly part of the community not fun at all.
Because I will not stop helping people get better. And I will keep my eyes wide open for any build or idea that is trustworthy (at which, sadly, maths is the language).Sorry Sir, but being impolite (mostly rude at that) will not help you raise your reputation. Because being rational is definitely more fun than being an arrogant freak that insults everyone who … Is actually right and provides correct statements.
Your english sucks and you’re also completely missing the point, not surprisingly.
That there are more ways to play the game than by the meta and that you can bring a lot of self-support without lacking group support.
If you want proof try it yourself. Why do I have to provide the facts? I could say anything I want and claim it’s “fact” are you going to believe it because I make it sound believable? Probably, you seem naive enough to do so. You know, just because a group of people say “this is the best there is” doesn’t mean it’s true. You just believe it because it’s more than one person saying it and they make it sound convincing. That’s called manipulation. It’s like if someone were selling food on the side of the street, 2 or 3 “customers” say it’s healthy when really they’re just fooling you in to buying their product and the customers are actors. You, being a consumer and an idiot, believe it only to later find it’s been significantly increasing your cholesterol and are now at a greater a risk of heart disease. Why are you in this predicament? Because if a group of people claim it’s true, and it sounds true.. It must be true!
You’re the kind of gullible moron McDonalds makes hundreds of dollars off of by telling you their salad is fat free.
Wah, soo much rage. The most optimum dps meta existed not because “just a group of ppl said”, meta is usually backed up with testing against multiple variant of others traits setup. Not only that they are usually also formed looking at how it coexisted with other classes setups and traits.

These meta for respective classes actually take considerably lots of testing. And the people responsible for these testings, usually compare the dps chart.
So it’s not exactly something that come out of the blue or like you said “someone said”.
Beside that, your build gave up Vigorous Spirit which means you’ll have only 35% proc rate of it and you are giving up Fortifying Bond too, in exchange for lousy 3 stacks of might on pet and a short duration of might stacking using trap+warhorn 5 (nothing on Nature Magic trait aka boon durations).
Bottom line is the setup gave up lots of personal and team dps.
It’s true you said these setup might help with bad pug but you’ll be better off running
6/5/0/3/0 the normal meta (yes, with predatory onslaught, vigorous spirit and fortifying bond). Sword-warhorn and sword-torch. Swap out Quickening Zephyrs for Flame Trap to help with Might stacking and Jungle Stalker for Mighty Roar.
This way you won’t lose out much on team and personal dps, while helping bad pug.
Also sword 1 has cripple, which stack on durations plus other classes has criple too, so basically you won’t give up Predatory Onslaught benefit. Only gave up burst with QZ and Rapid Fire. You can make up for those burst back with warhorn 4 but not much.
No point of helping stacking might when your boons actually run out very fast.

+1
But like most other criticism about the direction of game heading to wrong direction, this will probably sink to oblivion @ the bottom of the forum.
Bottom line, i don’t think anet cares. It’s not democracy. They select whatever they wanted to hear and filter out the rest. That just how it goes.
Many developers were moved to Healthy and Appropriate QA.
Throwing away pieces of the original designer and developers’ work doesn’t just happen, it takes person power.
Side Note: As a joke, I had posted a cardboard robot pic as what our characters would eventually look like, to make sure we weren’t offending anyone and we were all taking part in raising everyone else’s children for America and NASCAR, and they quite literally made a tonic that turns us into…a big box. That’s awesome.
Post Side Note: Having said that, I’m still more or less enjoying the game. I just ‘really’ don’t like this one, over reaching, heavy handed direction that pulls out visual aspects of the game I really enjoyed for the first 14 or so months of the game (running animation, idle animation, original clothing system). The changes all seem to support a common theme. I’d still like them to just admit it, if nothing else.
That Danbooru pic from Yotusbato! pretty much describe my feeling on Fractal reset/changes, NPE, traits change, living story and now this daily system. It just downhill slide one after another.

it is sad bc i really dont lik the idea of a tredmill. they are like polictians and anet is wors than obama
