Robert, so i managed to log in and i saw the new spy kit changes, so now its a bundle with a 1 min cooldown, thats is a pretty good change but i have some suggestions.
Can you add a CD to the actual item instead of just the CD once you use it, or maybe if you don’t use the #1 skill on the bundle and drop it can you regain back the spy kit and not waste it.
Since its 1 minute CD now, how about letting people move after going into stealth.

It basically means you can’t abuse them by doing something like 100b or BF and get all your health back via Omnomghost or what have you. I agree completely with 1 second being just right.
Yeah pretty much. Stacking 3 mobs and 100B pretty much meant you were invincible. The same could be said for any class that could stack and AOE a spot rapidly over a short period.
My ranger’s penetrating arrows while using a shortbow was incredibly OP, considering I could heal 1k a second on average just by hitting multiple dudes. Running that and troll unguent for a heal meant I could just stand still and not die.
The pies doing damage is intentional i imagine?

Yes, there are. Many of the glass cannon builds rely on the food buffs for lifesteal that is greater than healing. I added a 1 second cooldown after each proc to stop abuse using certain skills that could heal a character from near death to full health due purely to critting with a food item.
Alright 1 second seems fine and i thought they were too good but 1 second leaves them viable while not overly nerfing them to oblivion. 2 seconds or more and i would probably just go back to Mango Pies.
Looking forward to the AC changes as soon as my guild is on later today, any word on changing the current Warrior “meta” for dungeon runs.
This is coming from a guild that runs with at least 1-2 guard and 1 mesmer in dungeon runs with 2-3 warriors.
Food change actually nerfed Berserker Warriors (other classes too but perhaps people can’t survive glass anymore). So perhaps we will see a change.
We don’t run full glass but a mix of knight/zerk gear so it’s NP.

Pretty much this, you nerf the ability to play a dps ele even further down and push us more into bunkers. Bunkers ele still will have RTL up when needed to run away since they won’t use it to stay alive inside the kitten small node, WTH is this crap. I wonder if they even fixed the air trait to reduce cooldowns to affect RTL because before it was still at 15 secs regardless of the trait.

Agreed with OP, when GW2 was released i spent 90% of my time doing PvP tournys with my friends and the rest leveling my ele in PvE (took me over a month to hit 80). Now only 4 remain from 30+ and that sole reason is that we enjoy the PvE/WvW side otherwise we would be gone. Game has potential but Anet has been dropping the ball far too long in the sPvP Side.

^ obviously forgot how pugs work. Incase you don’t know pug-life is hard, its real hard. The vast majority of this games population just isn’t any good at this game to be honest. 9 out of 10 wars i come across run fear me with str/dolyak signet or something close to it. Not everyone spends 10/12 hours learning how to solo
I join these groups that say “experienced players only” and im still only one dodging grubs. Have to change armor sets just to make sure i get argo of p3. Go pug a few times and you’ll realize where this guy is coming from.
If Weth pug he prob just solo the boss and let people die to make it easier. Sadly 99% of my deaths in pugs are from trying to rez downed people.

Does running with the same setup (and same players) not bore you? I mean regular dungeon running is repetitive enough as it is. The only thing that keeps it interesting is the wild assortments you get from PuGs. In some situations an entirely different strategy is needed. As I have yet to play as each class it’s how I learn what the others are capable of doing and how different classes can compliment each other (for instance a regen banner warrior combined with an accordingly traited Mesmer granting them constant protection.)
I mean sure it’s good to run with the same people for really nailing down a strategy (there’s one guy I regularly run with who’s figured out to time his blast finishers when I lay down a fire field, between the two of us we maintain 25 stacks for the whole party.)
But yes there’s my 2 cents worth, the same party composition would be like scraping a cheesegrater against my forehead…
Considering i have a Guard/War and a mesmer that i might get to 80 soon and my guildies have at lest 2 classes we usually swap toons around but keep the same comp while running dungeons. the exception being Fractals since we have our mains there while getting higher levels.

Quite bad boss design honestly, all other bosses have interesting mechanics but this one is just gimmick.

Yes there is a limit in dodging, which can be mitigated by endurance regen like Vigor, traits, food ect. If you are dodging when not needed then that is a learn to play issue. State your class if you want specific help.

Traps actually arent that great in PvE like PvP. 1st you have to take a trait to make them last longer so they can do good dps. Spike trap is actually pretty bad bleed damage. Flame trap rocks but its still just burning which isnt great if you have another source of burning in the group. Poison trap is pointless since you have poison on SB or Sword. Really taking the trap trait for PvE just for Flame Trap isnt very good.
I think SB is a great weapon if you have to range but sword all the way in a good group and both are better with a power build. Knight/Zerk gear is really the best mix atm.
I can give you a build when im home but vs ST i can keep much more than 3 stacks of might vs 1 target on my pet and vs 3 mobs i can keep 22-25 stacks of might on him. Btw this is SOLO and it gets easier in a grp.

It depends on your build, but in the base state (i.e. 916 power and 0 condition damage), SB with bleed has about 30%-40% higher DPS than 1h sword autoattack. I need to do some calcs with sword’s poison to factor that in, but I doubt it’s enough to make up that gap. Sword is better against multiple targets though.
The reason it depends on your build is that if you add an extra 916 to power it will double sword’s autoattack (and shortbow’s physical damage) while bleed damage will remain the same. And sword will be better. But likewise if you put 916 into condition damage and 0 into power, shortbow will pull even further ahead.
This is very false. Sword is a 1.8 second cast time chain with a .6/.6/.7 skill modifier on its chain. SB #1 is a .5 cast time with a .4 Modifier with a 3 second bleed.
Full berserker vs 2,600 armor (Heavy Dummy in the mists) in a 30/30/10/0/0 spec (no specified traits)
Sword #1 = 1,833 DPS
SB #1 (Flanking) + #2 = 1,748 DPS if you can’t flank its 1463
Full Carrion
Sword #1 = 898 DPS
SB #1 (Flanking) + #2 = 1,607 DPS if you can’t flank its 944
TLDR, SB Does more damage with a power build than a condition build, rabid is worse dps than carrion, but at the end its still worse dps than Sword, which we can add torch as an offhand boosting sword even further.
SB is comparable against 1 target IF you flank every attack and land poison volley which means being very close for all 5 hits to land. Sword cleaves AND gives might to your pet which scales very well, and the might on the 3rd hit is per target so a potential 3 might for your pet every 1.8 seconds.

Rangers highest dps weapon is sword followed by SB. A power based build will give you more dps on SB than condition. SB does more damage even without flanking (bleeding) than LB. Your option for sword is to pair it with a torch even in a power build.
Dont ignore pets, they do insane dps. Ive been running some #s and i believe rangers have the ability to do more dps than wars provided the pet doesnt die and has 25 master bond stacks, but thats very hard to do.
Jaguar is your ST dps pet. Drakes is your AoE dps Pet since Auto Attack cleaves.
If you run a hammer guardian (i hope you do since they do 90-100% of the dps GS does) then you can give your pet perma protection with 15 in nature magic.

MF Gear stats are actually not that bad. Better than some peoples builds who actually have real armor. At the least, its a Knights set of armor that doesnt have toughness, however if the person can survive, they technically did not even need that toughness. So yea, its not as good as zerker, but most people seem to frown upon zerker anyway.
Im not trying to say MF gear is “Good” but its not as bad as people think, if the player is able to live with the gear. (Most cant)
Yea, ~1k toughness means nothing, just take MF instead, it’s not that bad…
If someone can survive, then they could run berserker, which is over 30% more damage then mf gear.
Such a useless, selfish trait that should never be in a MMO, especially not for challenging group content.
Pretty much this, don’t need toughness/vit then run zerl gear and blow stuff up.

The increased damage you do in melee more than makes up for how much more work you have to when you are in melee. This increases exponentially when fighting multiple mobs and ranged weapons lack the cleaving melee weapons have.

Scavengers hitting you from way outside of their melee range has always been the norm, its dumb
Not just outside the apparent range, but even the wrong direction. Sometimes you’re standing behind the scavengers and they knock you down. It’s as if the model is being drawn in one place (and facing one way) but the server thinks the scavenger is somewhere else. It’s been like that since release (in fact, since beta).
It probably happens with other creatures, too, it’s just more obvious with the scavengers due to the stun (which, BTW, doesn’t appear to have a cooldown; sometimes they re-stun players even before the previous stun is over).
Yup this has always been this way since release, its dumb.
