Do you go to a certain BL every time or just where there isn’t a queue?
Usually go to BG but I do go to SoR or EB if if i think there is better action. I rarely go to my home BL JQ.

So you’re the warrior I ran into yesterday by SoR’s tower on Blackgate borderland. At first I thought it was a mirror match, but seeing your build I now know why my Skull Crack didn’t last as long on you. I pushed my luck & you got me. On one hand I’m relieved I didn’t see myself in the video, but on the other hand it would be interesting to see the fight from your perspective to learn from it.
Good video though, looking forward to seeing more. Your ranger video inspired my to level one (got him to 80 just before the patch), now this and Matale’s videos are keeping my warrior interest alive.
Nice fights but i couldn’t fit in all the clips i had.

Simple answer is no no buffs to mobility. Warrior can not out run a thief unless they run S/X in both weapon sets.
For any warrior who think they are the ultra mobile elite.a a good thief will have shadowstep and bow or dagger. Factually if a thief just want to keep up with you its entirely possible because they have the gap closing mobility to do it no matter your set. There is no way around it. If you ran fro ma thief and got OOC the thief either blew their cool downs and you didn’t or they simply sucked.
While Warriors need Sword and GS with perma swiftness to outrun a thief, they can very much do so.

Finally a good warrior video, alot of bads posting videos now n days.
Thank you!How you liking Cleansing Ire? Seems like it might be overkill on conditions with shake it off, runes, dogged and food.
I went 25 in arms and skipped Ire and use Frenzy or Endure Pain instead of shake it off and I don’t feel like conditions hurt me to bad.
Shake it off is a low CD stun breaker IMHO. Stability is just for stomping. Cleansing Ire is for the Adrenaline regen mainly and it removes any non CC condis off me if i do have some.

Hello everyone, Puandro here. This is my 5th class WvW video, I main Elementalist and play Ranger/Thief/Mesmer on the side also, videos of those classes can be found on my signature.
This is my warrior video. I play on Jade Quarry which is a T1 server since Release/Beta. My build was originally made for small man fights but it turned out to be a good solo build and here I am.
Hope you enjoy!
Edit: Before people ask me how long ive played Warrior, i have 225 hours on it since November but all in PvE. Been playing this build in WvW since the patch.

One more CC + 100b build.
Useless :/Just one more free kill in PvP.
Have you played it?
Yes.
Do not works against:
- condition spammers
- bunkers
- fast healers
- hit and run(or evade) with ranged attacks.
- burts (because -3k thoug = instant death)GS only viable in glass builds, and PvP is not place for glasses.
I recomend put 3k or more thougness, and mix raw dmg with condition dmg, or go full condition.
All another classes(thieves have other resources) have easy access to protection + regeneration + retaliation at same time, good heal skils, evasion in weapon skills, combo fields. Warrior have nothing. In my opinion Mace are useless without Axe, all then properly traited.
obs: If you need swap weapons to deal average dmg, is because are some thing wrong with weapon skills.
I cant speak for sPvP since i have not have a chance to run it there but in WvW my version of Mace/GS is kittening disgusting, if you dont have stability i just make you into a punching bug. Easiest kills are necros which is pretty funny since everyone thinks they are OP atm

They are nerfing Sigil of Para soon because of necro-fear. (I think) they are bringing it down to 10%. So that means Skull Crack might go down to 3 seconds.
1) They are making stun duration not affect fear.
2) They could nerf it to 10% and it will still bump it to 4 seconds.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/2-Videos-Matale-8-WvWvW-1vX-and-Duels
This is what I use and how I play it. I’ve changed it recently to Runes of Lyssa and Superior Sigil of Impact on the GS (+10% dmg vs stunned players which is when you score your kills).
I don’t think Frenzy is too important since with Sigil of Paralyzation your skull crack lasts 3.45 seconds which is the duration of a full 100B.
Lasts 4 seconds.

A defensive high condi duration engi has a really good shot of countering this build. Everyone is too busy complaining about necros but i think this is 1 of the best builds to countering them atm. I personally don’t think the build is OP but any more warriot buffs that affect the build might push it over the top. This is WvW of course, in sPvP warriors still need a bit more since they still suffer from the same problems in group fights as before, its just slightly less worse.

Well, since you asked, I tested it in HotM using Eviscerate, Bull’s Charge and Shield Bash. 52% crit rate, so Unsuspecting Foe would push me to 100%. I tried both Shield Bash + Eviscerate and Bull’s Charge + Eviscerate and found that the latter did not guarantee crits. It’s a knockdown, so according to you, it should.
As i said above i was testing hammer with unsuspecting foe and hammer #4/5 were auto crits as of 2 patches ago.
Lets stop the back and forth here. I should point out no one here is new. It has never affected knock downs. Not up for debate unless they ninja changed the trait and last I checked they did not. Do not derail the thread trying to prove a point. This is common knowledge.
I guess i just got extremely lucky with my crits when i tested it. Managed to get 10 crits in a row right now until it did not crit with 52% crit chance alone.
Good talk bros.
Did you have critical bursts? That’d would make your crit chance 62% ontop of that
No, but that only affects F1.

Bears are bad because they have nothing good about them.
Tankier? No Drakes for that matter are tankier than Bears, a lot of health does nothing if you have no toughness to back it up.
Bad dps after the patch for pets? Cats were the top dps before the patch and birds just had good burst. Cats lost 50% of the direct damage off Maul but its on a 20 sec CD. Cats still do awesome dps, birds got neutered so they aren’t even good for burst anymore. Its really 3 options, Cats for ST DPS, Drakes for AoE DPS, Canine/Spiders for CC.
LB is still a bad weapon option but thats not the point of this post.

Anyone who thinks wars wont broken back then didn’t play Beta. Warrior burst line provided 1% extra damage on burst, Eviscerate did more damage than it did now, + there were other sigils and traits that boosted wars damage much more. Old divinity runes ect ect. Yes they overnerfed warriors but don’t claim something didn’t exist. It’s like claiming ranger GS damage was fine back then basing on how it is currently.
It didn’t exist. Old divinity runes weren’t nerfed because of Warrior, they were nerfed because EVERYONE used them and there was no question what runes were best in sPvP. Warrior was fine in beta, and I did in fact play in the beta. I played Warrior, Guardian, Thief, Ranger, and Elementalist during beta weekends, and spent a lot of time in sPvP. The only people who thought Warriors were overpowered were the horde of players specializing pure glass cannon who didn’t know how to dodge. Sure, if dodge didn’t exist and everyone was specialized glass cannon, Warriors would have been overpowered. Warrior was nerfed because of bad players whining in beta events. That is all there is to it.
You are delusional to think warrior damage was fine back then. I dare you pull off this kind of damage now while using points in the defense line like in this video. No divinity runes werent nerfed due to wars but it was just another thing that added to warriors damage. Crit damage on amulets were also higher. You could pick any trait you wanted with just 10 points into a line also. The incarnation of the warrior in beta with the old mechanics was OP plain and simple. Its a different and more balanced game now.
No, no it wasn’t. Of course you will simply keep arguing that Warrior was overpowered so I will just exit the conversation now.
Same thing can be said about you.

I went against another warrior today with similar build and same wep sets. Even though this one i managed to defeat 2 times during our 3 1v1 encounters, this build and playstyle is very very scary! as an s/d burst non-glass cannon build ele.
I noticed in WvW more people running this while roaming. It seems to have caught on like hotcakes kinda like DD ele back in the day, but I digress. I have been try to think up counters to it beside running Melandru and food to reduce stun duration. I think my engineer with bombs could possibly negate the build with blinds, stealth, range and overloading conditions. I will have to find someone to test it on.
I imagine with S/D ele its going to be when you pop your blind. Also in open space I doubt S/D could lose to this build.
I remember the D/D ele craze. So many free kills. Maybe it was just me since i main D/D ele since Beta but those FoTM D/D eles were some of the easiest targets.

The build is very good but its really up to the player behind the wheel. Stability is actually not that great of a counter since you can just kite it out. Blinds and proper dodges will mess it up though.

Sounds like the spec Matale put up on the forums(and videos to go with it)
And yeah i played it myself and it is insanely good (for wvw anyway :P havent tried in spvp yet)
Ah yah now that i see his build is a bit differently (he is built more defensive) but the concept is the same, stun and kill. Lack of food and dogged march seems like it would be easy to kite him with chill and cripple.
Jade Quarry – Team Savvy – #1 NA WvW Solo Guild
Think you misread what I said. I meant Mace/Shield + Sword/Mace. I had no intention of using immobilize just sword superior mobility cripples and final thrust opted in for 100b and tremor for the last bit of cc in case they run. Noting that tremor is a knockdown not a stun it wont trigger unsuspecting but since you can only stun break a knockdown in the process of getting up from it it is possible to use that in your bait tactic and force them to use break that wont work and continue your chain of stuns. Hope that clears that up. I most definitely do know how the traits work lol. The reflect is not part of you main build usually? Ok that makes sense just seemed like a nice trait for roaming considering. Have you fought D/P thief with this set up yet? Even with defensive spec 0 30 30 10 0 does great burst. Also it should be said no thief worth their salt doesn’t run with shadow step so there should be no beating a good one in melee just forcing a draw. I know this is just your second day with the build so I do not expect that you have fought the multitude of builds there are.
If this is duels in WvW, maybe people will start eating Roasted Lotus Root or Saffron Bread :P
I actually considered that a while ago to deal with hammer spammers. More reasons now.
Daze/stun/knockdown/knockback all trigger unsuspecting foe. Yes i misread it was almost 4 am when i replied. Sword is good to keep on the target but solo its not a good weapon mix with mace. There just wont be much dps let alone burst. You are better off with sword hammer imho.
Reflect is nice but dogged march is a superior trait imho. I played a D/P thief a bit and know how they work. You can do many things to stun when they HS out of BP. Shadowstep alone isnt enough to not die since its on a 50 sec CD. Also they can just decide to stealth and run but there is no counter in the game against that if the thief decides to bail. I did fight 1 D/P thief today. I dazex him and he blew his shadowstep then i shield bashed him later as he was HS out of BP then mace stun and killed him. But good players are hard to come by now a days.
Jade Quarry – Team Savvy – #1 NA WvW Solo Guild
If you want to run it for more grp CC thats good but in my build i have 50% chance to crit with fury and with unsuspecting foe its 100% in stuns so what you are thinking is a differrent playstyle. I stun and kill and play decensively between stuns. The reflect projectiles was just something i swapped over dogged march since the dueling thing broke out around me but its not a trait i run otherwise. As for not being able to catch ppl. Sure its not as mobile as sword gs but then the imob can be cleansed once you reach the target. Unsuspecting for doesnt work with imob. You can also use skills in imobs like evades or stuns. Sword is a great weapon but its not for what i want go do with my build. As for mesmer or thiefs. If a thief is glassy enough to pose a threat he will be too squishy to do live in 1 stun and i catch him. If he isnt then he wont do enough damage. Mesmer it depends. Shatter is predictable and i have yet to fight a good phantasm one. A really good condi engi can pose a threat but a mistake on their part is usually enough to give me the win. Also i was just dueling there but i dont hesitate to reset fights or wait on CDs if i need to while i kite.

Doing a 0/20/20/0/30 M/S GS. Ive only PvE on my war so this was my 2nd night out on him in actual PvP. Build is pretty nice 1v1 and 1v2-3. Also awesome in small group fighting. Gear is zerk and cavalier mix. The build is more about baiting the opponents dodges and stun breakers and then landing the stun for HB and WW.
At least my guess was partly on the money. Are you running melandru or something else? If not how is condition management? Also I think this is the first time I have seen anyone running mace main hand in WvW. It was nice to see that. Might have to pull mine out and try it lol.
Yes Melandru. I dont think a pure melee build for war is truly viable without melandru + Lemongrass + Dogged march but thats just my opinion. While i am new to warrior in PvP ive pretty seasoned PvP player from DAoC and ive WvW on Ele (Main), Mesmer, Ranger, Thief (not very good on thief… :p). Vids are in my signature if you care, Ranger video #2 is pretty good according to the ranger forums.
As for the build being a duelist build that just happened to be on accident. I actually made it to run with my friends 2-5 large group. But i found myself alone at 1 point and managed to 1v3 a warrior/mesmer/ranger (yes horrible ppl) and saw potential so i started solo roaming with it tonight. I think a lot of people see warriors as free kills and it lets me kill people pretty easily. Even after people saw what i did over and over again for like 45 minutes its still easy to bait stuns and land HB and WW. The build itself is awesome in groups since anything pretty much dies in the stun.

Does Heightened Focus + Gear really make up for the loss of Precision with having 0 in Arms? I’m rolling with the 30/25/0/0/15 Build (GS/Axe+Mace) and I am doing really well, with Zerk everything, so how do you maintain a good Crit chance w/o the Arms trait line?
You have more crit with 30/0/0/10/30 than 30/25/0/0/15….. yah its silly.

I dont know what the coefficient is for warrior banners but lightning hammer is high enough to make eles do more damage with it than with daggers. Truth is mesmers do less damage than rangers but their utility allows them to come in groups while a ranger has warhorn buff and it ends there.
