There are no in-game moderators a player can petition to take a look at questionable gameplay. I think this is what the OP is saying.

Pity…would do wonders for this game.

Supply…only a large group can carry enough supply to tackle sieged keeps and towers.

Roam all you want. Havoc all you want…but the business of taking and holding property requires a hefty supply train. An Army…or Zerg, if you prefer.

Angry at what? That I didn’t get my money and a good deal of fun out of a game I’ve played for literally thousands of hours over 2 years? I can’t say that. 60 measly bucks for 2 yrs worth of fun…quite a deal, imo.

I don’t think WvW is broken. I might not agree with some of the aspects of it…but all in all, I’m still having fun.

Dueling is waste of time. Adds nothing to ppt and in many cases keeps you away from your original goal (yaks, camps…whatever)

I’ve leveled 7 classes in WvW & Crafting. Only one I PvE’d up was my Ranger in the beginning (at launch).

I rather have a root canal sans painkiller than ever participate in EotM again. Got stuck in there for 10 days due to transferring servers during season. What a useless waste of time.

I like weapons leaning a bit more towards the realistic side….like Krytan Swords, Axes, Warhorns, Staffs and Aureate Greatswords, Greathammers, Maces.

All my weaponry is skinned into those looks.

I kill everybody red….

This is a great place to WvW in, folks. Everyone works together and we have a good time no matter who we are fighting or what the score is.

We(PF) moved here a few weeks ago and have absolutely no regrets. Come be a part of Sanctum of Rall’s rebirth.

I’ve watched quite a few GvG fights in OS when ive been dueling there and tbh it just looks like 2 hammer trains surging backwards and forth. The only interesting stuff occurs on the periphery of the fight where the thieves/dps are operating trying to pick off anyone that drifts too far from the melee ball. And then getting countered by enemy thieves/dps.

Im sure in the main hammer train groups there is a condi battle waging but it all seems a bit meh to me.

Definitely arguable if those 20 man GvG blobs smashing into each other is the epitome of skilled gameplay.

Is PPT flawed, yes, but a metric is required as not everyone wants to GvG. Having said that im not sure why an arena instance wasnt built into the game so people could take their 20v20 GvG’s there and slug it out.

Wouldn’t make a bit of difference, the anti-ppt’ers would still be here in the forums trying to get ANet to change the entire game to fit their singular viewpoint.

I still enjoy thoroughly WvW. The comraderie, fighting with friends, TS chatter and joking. We lack coverage, but big deal. We give a good accounting of ourselves for the fights can participate it. And we have “fun”…..some people have lost the meaning of that concept apparently.

My feelings on hacker and spies. To kitten with them, I say. The best way to deal with folks like that is to go ahead and enjoy your game play in spite of them. Show them that thier best efforts don’t really mean a thing in the long run…and they don’t.

That said…WvW could be greatly improved with in game moderators / referees to deal with hacking & cheating. In EQ2, a simple in game message to a mod would bring a real person to check out any problem pretty quickly.

Making gold in this game is so ridiculously easy that this entire thread is just …ridiculous. Spend a week to 10 days on the EotM Karma train and transfer to any server you want.

The truth is that this topic is far behind the times. Good guilds stopped ppting a long time ago. Present day, not only are they bored of ppt, they are bored of the pug farming and blobbing that constitutes 99% of an organized raid.

The only interesting thing to do in this game is GvG. The level of player support for such an unsupported game mode is a testament to how sophisticated the combat system and current meta really is. It’s a shame that neither this nor any other type of guild-centric activity was ever emphasized by Anet.

So only “good guilds” GvG?…just…lol

CU is years away and unproven. Even now, I predict massive whining in CU’ s forums….cause thats just the new norm for some gamers.

WvW has always been about points. I like that playstyle, personally. The entire game mode is NOT about fights. It just seems that way to you.

Armies (blobs) milling about in the middle of the field accomplish nothing in the game or real life, for that matter. Its always been about the taking and holding of territory and resources.

I would really hate to see the OP’s version of WvW come about.

I’ve been in T1/T2 throug T6-T8. I prefer the lower Tier servers. No lag, no queues. I can play/ switch to my alts whenever I feel like it.

Blobs?…well everyone blobs in all Tiers. Just part of the game.

If you don’t like your server and you can’t buy gems with a card, go run the karma train in EotM for a week or so, break down the the greens & blues & sell the mats, sell the yellows and exotics and transfer wherever you want.

There is a nice range of WvW gameplay right now. Should be server out there for everyone.

If you actually like the game, that is.

Negativity is always louder…in any game. Or newspaper, or govt, or website or…whatever.

Its “so” much better than it was. At launch, you “had” to run PvE on a couple of toons just to support your WvW toon. It cost you coin to play WvW. Repairs had to be paid for too.

Nowadays you can actually maintain a positive cash flow in WvW.

Don’t change a thing.

I just think non-crafters or peeps that don’t care about leveling the crafting beyond 400 should have an outlet for earned loot.

I really don’t care to craft beyond the ability to make exotic armor and weapons.

Can we get an NPC vendor to sell this stuff to? Or, at the very least, give us the ability to give it to a guildie that wants to max thier crafting?

Its cloggin’ up my bank and I just know that the day following my decision to delete it…that will be the day you can make a fortune selling it to an npc.

Same here. If I make enough to keep me in siege wvw, I’m a happy camper. But the loot frenzy in this game…sheesh.

You get 7 concurrent days of lock out. So if you transfer a few days before reset, you can add those days on to your wait time too.

Couple of questions?

Will the 7 day wvw waiting period still be in effect?

Any idea of transfer costs after season end? Any different than now I mean?

Hated that game, myself. But all that proves is there are many opinions….none of them any more “right” than any other.

But you won’t find me lamenting my dislike of GW1 on those forums compared to GW2 either.

EotM & the PvE Megaserver were just the warm up to alliance style play, I think.

Then they have a problem that GW2 engine wont handle enought players in WvW and WvW maps are small.

Its not the launch…its the warm up. No doubt they have issues…but I think its coming.

I played the big ol ESO WvW map during Beta and after before cancelling my acct. The whole time I was in there, I kept thinking how much fun a map of this size would be in GW2.

And it would be. Giant zergs are inefficient outside of taking a keep in a map that size. If you want to control territory, you “have” to work with smaller groups. Scouting becomes important.

I’m not pushing ESO either. I don’t think its as good a game as GW2. But they had some good ideas. Ones that GW2 “seems” to be leaning towards.

Its just a game I play….no more, no less. Far more interesting than PvE. I don’t care about loot, achievments, ascended or legendary stuff. Or anything, really, beyond having a good time when I sign in.

Maybe not right now. But eventually, they’ll leave the server vs server style behind and go the alliance vs alliance route of Planetside 2 or ESO. With various campaigns (i.e. server instances inherent in each alliance match up).

The only way to actually nerf coverage would be to take all the wvw populations and re-shuffle them evenly across all the servers & lock down server transfers at that point.

But no one really wants that.

Game forums are where the malcontents hang out. Take everything you read here with a grain of salt and don’t let it affect your game or your enjoyment.

I can’t seem to add a new 2nd sigil to any 2H. It just replaces the original one I had in the first slot and eats the old sigil. Have lost prob 10 gold messin with it.

It is sooo much better than it was at launch….

I’m okay with it now. Because I remember when playing wvw was a losing propositon in soo many ways.

The ride (up tier) is the best time on a server. Still have seats left.

Yep…PF transferred in from TC last week. No queues, no lag and wvw is fun again. Can’t say enough about the welcome we received here. Good folks.

That if I don’t play it as much, I enjoy it far more.

I’ve got one of each….but I play the Guardian, Ele & Necro the most. Engie & ranger are okay and a nice change once in awhile.

The warrior, thief & mesmer, I don’t care for.

Everquest 2 uses a GM system. In game mods (24 hr service) that will respond to issues that range from griefing to bugged instances. Can’t tell you how many time we had problems and had a mod show up, fix the issue, chat a bit with them…then go on and finish whatever we’re doing. Not to mention keeping the trolls in line.

Wouldn’t mind seeing a similar system here.

Maps are too small in GW2 for mounts…not really a need for them.

Employed casuals with more bucks than time pay the bills. Hardcores tend to be ftp leeches.

Outside of this forum, most players simply don’t need thier hands held to enjoy a computer game.

Thanks to WvW, my highest map completion I have on 10 characters is 63% on my 80 Ranger. My lowest is 13% on my 80 Guard who literally grew up in WvW…all the rest are scattered between 20-30%. And thos only because I fool around for a half hour in the morning before work.

Ahh well…all the Legendaries are stupidly ugly anyway. Even if I had one, I’d just skin it with something to make it look more functional and realistic.

Look in different places than here. Find the server specific website and ask there. Lots of WvW / PvE guilds could care less what you play.

Interesting to note all the callouts for a new ppt system since the one we’ve got now is the result of the last wave of whining. Said it then…will say it again now.

Be careful what you ask for…you just might get it.

No matter what ANet does, someone in this forum will hate it and tell us all over and over why they hate it.

That said….I vote “Yes” on Season 2.

Seeing this more and more now. Just make it so each claim has to have a min of 3-4 buffs (for keeps & garries) and that the claim will expire after the buffs go down.

Would that be so hard to implement?

I hate anti player siege like ACs. IMO Anet should just remove that crap entirely. Siege should be solely for destroying walls and doors. Instead Anet should add other options for defending, e.g. loopholes, trenches and stuff like that. FIGHT LIKE A REAL MAN!

Soldiers take every advantage they can using any weapon available and/or cover.

I’m all for any siege or weapon that gives me an advantage over the enemy. I don’t care how you die as long as you do it as quickly as possible so I can turn my attention the next target.

Fair fights are for fools and children.

I mean we do not have season 2, so there is not need to win the weekly match up. You can just hop into the new map, fight, get WvW xp and have a better experience.

There is zero incentive to return to the current bl’s. Why would you not improve the current ones instead of this?

I don’t think the new map is that much of a threat to wvw. Fine for filling in time while in queue, but nothing to hold me for any length of time over the regular wvw maps. This is pretty much the take on almost every serious wvw’er I’ve talked to?

I think we should give rangers the thief stealth and give the pets to the thieves.

Yep…just as I thought…roaming zergs all over the place. Anyone who thought this was gonna be a haven for small groups is just fooling themselves. The herding instinct is too strong.

That said…it was quite fun in a zergy sort of way.
