I’d love to dual wield sword on my warrior…but the 4, 5 skills are just “meh”. Mesmer’s dual skills are better.

Glass cannon warrior, perhaps? A little toughness goes a long way.

How does 3rd place taste? About the same as 2nd place. 5th or 6th out of 24 servers ain’t no small accomplishment for anyone. There are no losers in T2. Never has been.

I’d go ahead and report it. What can it hurt? But burning up supply on useless seige and upgrading just prior to reset isn’t normal gameplay.

It will be a judgment call on ANets part.

I haven’t played Guild Wars 2 for a very long time so I decided to stop by and check in.

When I last played WvW we were up against FA and they were complaining, bitterly, about 2v1… it’s good to see that some things just don’t change.

Keep it up FA. If you must know there is a secret treaty between TC and Kaineg. The leaders of all the major guilds met and signed a non-aggression pact. Unfortunately, not everyone follows it but most people do.

Yeah, but a fight broke out over whether to use green ink or red ink.

Such is the nature of WvW.

The rivalry, in effect, sets the tone for this tier. Allowing Kain to run rampant across 2 servers at will due to coverage and numbers.

The floppy hat is closer to an old style cowboy hat than the feathered one. Almost a sombrero. Feathered hat looks kinda dude-ish to me. I don’t think there is perfect hat for the look…so maybe the big mustache and long hair would suffice in lieu of a hat? But prob not on a sylvari (missed that).

Floppy round brims could be found back then…but, so could every other imaginable style also.

I thought I’d be able to easily sub my Necro for my Ele also. Couldn’t do it. Went back for an Ele. Had the ele guard Hodgkins and the rest take down the burrows.

Well, Necros are supposed to be creepy. I’ve transmuted those alll the way to 80 for mine, lol.

If your wife dislikes PvP, she may be hesitant to even try WvW. But there are quite a WvW’ers playing now that hated pvp in any form. There is no guarantee you can get her to like it.

I’m betting what she doesn’t like is the in-your-face aspect of pvp combat. Try getting her to play a ranged profession first..maybe a ranger. Or maybe have her play a necro or ele and aoe keeps n’ towers or aoe from keeps n towers.

There are other builds for Necros also. I’ve never used minions on my lvl 80 and I do just fine as condition wellomancer.

My friend and I recently fired up another MMO (which shall remain nameless) to go back and play around a little bit. Before GW2 came out, I thought this other MMO was awesome… Well, let me tell you, GW2 has really spoiled me. From superior graphics, brilliant level syncing, a far superior trading post, a much more vibrant and active world, much more engaging PvP, better art design, and a way better payment model, more interactive control scheme… Guild Wars 2 topped it in every category I can think of outside of a couple bells and whistles such as a dungeon finder.

To be honest, I was shocked at how much better Guild War 2 was. Has anybody else experienced this?

Same here…I re-subbed in my previous MMO (EQ2) this weekend. Just to go back and see if I could regain the old magic. Signed up for a new raid guild. They played it some this weekend.

But the clunky artwork and stiff combat animations (comparatively)….((sigh))

I cancelled my sub again this morning. There is no going back at this point. Better games may come out, but there is no going back for me apparently.

I was on an alt in Harathi yesterday and couldn’t even see the mob of dying centaurs that the mob of players around me were killing. Culling would end as the bodies of the centaurs fell…

I just stood there doing diddly squat. Couldn’t see anything. Not sure why either as the player group wasn’t overly large compared to some groups I’ve seen running the meta-event.

I have one of each profession. All are solo-able. Engineer was probably the most difficult to solo, but was also my 3rd lvl 80 and one of the most fun to play.

Ranger was the easiest. Elementalist is a lot of fun.

Choose the one that best fits you. But you can solo with any of them.

I remember now. There was a thread about this hairstyle and its unavailability during the betas. It’s puzzling why it’s not offered as a choice. It’s already in game so adding it would be a fairly minimal fix.

I seem to vaguely remember there was an issue with it clipping rather badly..??

I’m having real trouble operating arrow carts.
I know ppl build them on the inner edge to avoid being targeted from the ground but that makes it equally impossible for me to target anything with the cart.

No matter where I position, I can’t ever see more than a tiny corner of the ground, usually a spot nobody ever enters

Is there some trick to it?

Roll your field of view outwards and then try targeting, Contiguous. Maybe move your mouse so its facing the target area from an oblique angle. The arrow cart is meant to be an indirect fire weapon. Even though it looks like it should shoot straight out, it actually is meant to shoot up in a high arc and fall down on the enemy.

And then, there are times where the placement is poor and you simply can’t target anything.

I think part of transitioning from tier 3 to tier 2 is figuring out how to kill alot •and• get ppt at the same time. If you kill people enough, they stop coming back. On that note…an I the only one who really loves reset? I look forward to it all day!

Those were supposed to be blown staff kisses since well, there is no way I could kill ya with just them. After having just fought off a NW gate assault, we figured you were going to set up a catapult in the boat. Of course a minute later, all of GODS suddenly appeared on the boat with you.

Now that I know that was just a romantic cruise in the Bay, I will definitely be more understanding next time

Alas…tis the bane of the Necro. A nice ranged weapon that might as well be blowing kisses for all the damage it does. Good thing it has all the marks, though.

It doesn’t take any time for those who use gold & credit cards to craft. For those of us that harvest and play, its a pretty good accomplishment to level all the trades.

In any case, if you actually read the post, Mujen. I wasn’t suggesting that Master Crafters be allowed to craft precursors. I was suggesting that there be some sort of questline that once completed, would allow Mastercrafters to craft precursors. Make them account bound if they don’t want to affect economy.

Just want to clarify: Our oceanic coverage is nice, but it’s nothing like the Kaineng SEA coverage. We’ll have a good number of people and a couple awesome guilds cleaning up, but it feels more like we do well because of a lack of KN and TC coverage, not because we have huge numbers at that time. When SEA prime rolls around it feels like KN’s back up to NA prime numbers. That kitten is impressive.

For this match up I’ve been seeing points swing TC’s way during NA, FA during oceanic, and then Kain during Sea/Euro.

Rinse/repeat. It’s not every night, but pretty consistent.

And while it did sometimes seem like we’re getting doubled at times, I for one don’t attribute it to some super-secret illicit agreement between the two servers – just natural tendencies to double the team in second, or hit the guy you don’t like more. It’s all in good fun for me, makes it more exciting.

This is pretty much it. FA and TC have coverage holes that are exploited by KA at will. FA and TC seem to exploit each others coverage weaknesses. And, I suppose, at times it can feel like 2 v 1.

But so what? Its a 3 server system, there is always going to be some sort of 2 v1….but its not planned. It is, however, taken advantage of when it happens. I don’t know how many times our zerg has come across a KA/FA battle and we’ve just watched while ya’ll fought…then barrelled down on the the weakened winner.

Technically, that is 2 v1…but not through any planning. Just a happy coincidence.

FA wipes TC in every engagment nearly and if we hang out to long, sure enough Kaineng will show up wipe us then leave. No big deal…. Good team work TC and Kaineng. Glad you enjoy fair game.

So, if what you are saying was even halfway true….with every TC wipe, you would be scoring. And KA would be scoring off you and adding to their score, while TC should be in a holding pattern. But it doesn’t seem to be working out on paper that way huh?

Well….I might miss the inter-server comraderie that BG provided. But do I miss those wonderful times when they were rick-rolling us every single day with oversized zergs hitting 2 keeps and a tower all at once? No.

I use Scepter / warhorn (sometimes dagger here also) & Staff on my Condition Necro. I like its application there. I’m kind of blah about the other classes use though.

Only time I’ll use scepter on my Ele is if I need the focus.

Scepter on Guards are just so-so. But not much else to choose from.

Scepter on my Mes only cause I want to stay ranged AND use the focus.

You couldn’t have chosen 2 more different classes in terms of tactics. If you like kiting and choosing your battles 1 v 1 and 2 v1…then Thief.

If you like taking on entire mobs and aoe-ing…..Necro.

There ought to be a way to access precursors via crafting. For those of us that have taken the time to level all the trades to 400? Some sort of Master Crafting quest of some sort?

Open field combat has its place…if you’re forced to do that. But Keep / Tower / Supply Camp defense and offense is WvW, IMHO.

Open field combat is where 2 zergs meet each other on the way to accomplish something more important. Its great that some guilds are good at it, but its like bringing a Football team to a Baseball game. The overall tactics of such an encounter have no bearing on the game. Might as well be large group spvp.

TC Militia may lack the group coordination of large guilds, but we can defend & take keeps, towers and supply camps with the best of them. Within the scope of our coverage , that is.

But so what? Its part of the game dynamics. If we can use an unsuspecting KN or FA
zerg to accomplish our purposes, then we go for it.

Man up and keep fighting…or not…as you prefer. The score on Friday will tell the story and then we’ll do it all over again.

Remember that T2 will be stable for quite some time. SoS is not likely to move up and SoR isn’t like to move down (they’re losing and gaining points in t1 and t3 respectively)

To think, all this bad blood came to fruition because a RP event in a PvP zone was PvP’ed. Appledainty didn’t even seem that offended from what I’ve read of that forum thread way back! I think TC got more offended than she did.

But yes, I can agree, this matchup is fun, had a great time fighting CERN and PiNK last night – it looks like tiers are finally stabilizing but who knows how long that will last, meh.

The ambushed Dolyak Parade has become a symbol for the perceived FA penchant for hooliganism. Its useful in firing up the zergs with “Remember the Dolyaks!”….not unlike “Remember the Alamo!”. Is it true?….No, but who cares? Its a kitten game.

Doesn’t matter what who trolls who on either server. All servers have trolls. I will gleefully kill, maim and dismember the enemy animation in front of me. I may even dance upon his corpse. If the game would let me, I would parade his/her cartoony lil head around on the end of my greatsword (Note to self: new suggestion to ANet?)

In RL, however….we could go get a beer.

I watched a RP Wedding in Divinity’s Reach some time back. Under the circular columns that lead to the Vista. In front of the Goddess statue. Was a nice setting there amongst the trees and columns. And a well acted ceremony.

TC has a pretty active NA day crew. As well as quite a few EU players. Right now is coming up on..if its not actually in EU Primetime. Our coverage holes are elsewhere…as everyone here knows.

I don’t understand how anyone could miss the new content. I understand you may not find it fun, but how can you possibly miss it? There are giant glowing yellow stars on top of NPC’s that constantly spam in every city to talk to them and learn about the new content. Not only that but they sent you a personal mail that details what when and where the new content is.

I know its there…I’ve read the emails. I’m just not interested in it right now. WvW pretty much takes up my limited game time for now. I pve’d for months before trying WvW and I’m now finding that PvE is kind of stale comparatively. I may delve into spvp also now.

In the meantime, I have all 8 professions in the works, 3 lvl 80’s…and all the crafts mastered. And have never stepped foot in a fractal or even bother with dailies. Only done a couple of dungeons. And I consider this a fun game that I’ll likely spend several years in.

I don’t think any of us can quantify what is “fun” for anyone other than themselves.

Or make them “tick-able” like all Seige? As long as they’ve been ticked, it belongs to that person. That way someone who has to leave can send a PM to another person or guild with the last timestamp tick…and if someone forgets to tick it and someone else claims it? Then so be it.

But if its its in a keep thats been taken, all the enemy can do is destroy it like they should be doing with all seige anyway.

I think the level scaling is one of the best features of this game.

I’m not going to disagree with you at all. Cause any kind of control is better than what we have right now. I’m open to whatever ANet might be able to come up with.

That said, Omega Golems take 5 Alphas to make. The ownership of that Omega ought to go to whomever…or whatever guild threw down the build site. Guild Ownership would be a better fix. And probably easier to implement than a “locking” feature, I would think.

That has not been my experience at all.

We used a couple of Omega Siege Golems in taking of a keep, then parked them in Garrison to save for further operation. Only to have a (supposedly) noob wvw’er take off in one and lose it fighting an Iceworm. He refused to bring it back…said he didn’t care who built / paid for it…etc..etc…

Those kitten things are expensive. Is there anyway to give us the ability to lock them down when not in use and pass the “key”, as it were, to another player if we have to leave?

Or maybe have accessible only to the Guild of the person that made it?

Anyone with a hundred gold can sport a tag. But hold a zerg together consistently day in and day out? The system, or rather the players, quickly learn which commander they prefer.

But I wonder if there ought to be some sort of color progression in the tags..that keep count of successful encounters and show players the most experienced commanders on the field?

Ahhh…Reset Night. Just in time to get home after work, que up….and walk the dog, order a pizza, go grab a six pack at the corner store. Pay off the pizza guy, start on the 6 pack, eat dinner and wait on the the que some more…finish the 6 pack….

I could care less about the dailies and monthlies. If I get a daily just by playing, hey thats cool. But I never hunt for em.

I really don’t understand the seemingly “innate need” some people have to complete them.

I was wondering about the increased aoe area traitable in the Arcane line. I rarely use arcane skills favoring cantrips. So, I’m on the fence on spending traits here. Does the larger aoe maintain full dmg over an increased area or does it dilute a set amt of dmg over a larger area?
