Genetic doesn’t really work that way. Myth aside, the 2 races obviously share some gene pairs. Different species often mate all the time. May take a few thousand years to find a compatible gene pairing, but it they are sharing the same world, its going happen. Especially as close as the races are.

But my Tyria appears to be different than yours. All any game does is provide each of us a framework for each of our interpretation. I don’t give kitten about GW1 or GW2 lore…in my world they are compatible.

If they aren’t in your Tyria…thats okay. Our worlds don’t really mingle anyway.

This is a factual discussion. Fact is Norn and humans can’t have children, because the two species are not related. As I said before, they probably don’t even originate on the same planet. They just look similar because of some cosmic coincidence.

You can dance around and pretend that Norn and humans are long lost siblings as much as you want for all I care, if it makes you happy. But it’s still wrong and it’s ignoring the truth.

Factual discussion? There is no truth or fact in a fantasy video game…there is only imagination.

Until Lost Shores, they held true to their pre-release promise that I could play GW2 the way I wanted to, now I have to play it they say I should.

You see, grind in most people’s minds (like you mentioned up there) is doing stuff they don’t want to do, in order to do the stuff they do.

People make huge mountains out of molehills. I can adapt to any nerf (i.e. re-balance) on any toon just fine.

Funny how they all cry for balance…as long as its not their class.

Ranger?…not for me. Human are rangers. Lithe, quick, agile.

Norns are melee. In the berserker traditions.

But that said, I have a Norn engie, Guardian and warrior.

I’ve got 3 toons that will (eventually) be based on that premise. Basically the sire was a large-ish human (now deceased) who met a Norn in the Vigil.

In any case the genes expressed themselves in thier children in the form of a very tall human male Ranger, a shortish, but broad, Norn male guardian and an extremely tall female Norn Engineer. All serve in different orders. My ranger followed his parents into the Vigil.

More to follow as I flesh out the background stories and get back intoRP’ing. (been awhile)

I like the dance. Think its pretty kitten hilarious. Especially on gigantic plate armored Norns.

Can’t stand Asura. I’ve deleted all my Asura. Too short, can’t see over things…too goofy looking. Come to think of it, I’ve deleted all my Charr and Sylvari too. Just Norns and Humans now.

Something occurred to me this morning..I don’t think I’ve seen it addressed. Or maybe I’ve just misssed it. When you “guest”? Do you have to take your entire account (all alts) or can you “guest” with one toon only?

I love reading the mindset that seems to say…“If I die, it must be the class, cause its surely not me…therefore all classes but mine should be nerfed”

Those mindsets permeate gaming forums.

They make me laugh.

Eq2 has one of the best housing systems in all the mmo’s. Nowhere else does a player have more power to manipulate their own environment than that game. Even the tradeskills allow the crafting of home items. I’d love for ANet to implement something like that here.

The Divinity’s Reach neighborhoods just “scream” for player housing. Rurikton for me…if something like that ever gets added

Buggy here too…I’ve been having to open up the roster in the Guild Window to invite guildies to groups at times.

I am also totally miffed by this u-turn decision for guesting. Having been in the same international guild for the last 6-7 years through GW1 it is indeed sad to have to say goodbye to a long list of American friends I’ve made over the years, not only through our guild but the 5+ years of making GW1 movies and the loyal friends i made from my viewers. I guess we can still chat but there’s just way too many for me to keep track of long term with only chat as a means of interaction. Thanks to you guys for putting up with me all that time, our cards may have been unwillingly forced but you will not be forgotten. I’m not sure why they’ve made this decision, is it somet to do with WvW? It doesn’t interest me so i don’t really follow whats happening with it, i’m a 100% PvE’er!! I guess we can still keep up on forums and i have quite a few of you as friends on FB but in all honesty i don’t have as much time to keep up with forums like i used to grrr. The original guesting system they promised where we would be free to guest anywhere with friends would have been ideal for me as i work the 3-shift rota, looks like i’ll be on my own at 3-6am in future

Why is this any different than what you have been playing for the last 6 months? Its not like they are taking anything away from you. Its the same game you have always experienced as there has been no guesting at all?

For raids to be succesfull and be anti-zerg they would have to make them difficult, meaning that the majority will QQ because everything that involves strategy or listening is to complicated, thus having to be nerfed to a point were a mindless AI zerg could do it aswell as a group of players.
So, if they introduce a raid that is not pug-able the amount of QQ would be bigger then when Asc. gear was introduced, and if it is pug-able you might as well go do the dragons.
Anet should rather focus on releasing some more quaggan items, that seems more appealing to the majority of the player-base + allows them to milk out some more cash.

Which just means that you should go back to your previous game to get your raid fix…and quit trying to make everything you play into a WoW clone.

Its not really that bad.

No one should have to mute the game because 1 person wants to be annoying. Bells should only be heard by the player, or in the players group.

Conversely…no one has any right to tell any other player who paid hard cash (just like you did) for the game how they can enjoy their time in game. If thats spamming choir bells, then so be it.

Aforementioned bells being a legit part of the game. I don’t like sunglasses and ballcaps either. But I’d never say anyone couldn’t sport em if they wanted.

Thats my goal. My current 80’s are (in order of completion) Ranger, Engineer & Necro. The rest range in level from 15 to 55. Though, I’m just as likely to delete any toon on a whim for the most minor of reasons.

It gives you a pool of good people for dungeons or personal stories. Makes lfg a thing of the past. Lets you get to know people from all over the world and all types of backgrounds. WvW, guild voice = fun. Dungeons with guildies = fun. DE’s with guildies = fun.

So its social…and practical.

I don’t multi-guild though. Guess I’m too old fashioned for that. Not a big fan of the mechanic, but its a part of this game…so no biggie.

Seriously though, its not that way on all servers. I have 9 alts running from lvl 11 to 3 lvl 80’s…I run into peeps all the time all over the maps on Tarnished Coast.

I’ve found the Norns, due to thier size, to be a bit of a hassle in jumping puzzles. At least compared to humans. All my jumpers are human. They’d be Asura, but while I think the Asura are kinda cute…I hate playing one. (can’t see over stuff).

Legendaries should only be able to be crafted by the user and should be automatically soulbound upon completion. Not available for trade or sale.

Of course, its not that way…..

Its just background stuff though. All the subs, helicopters and tanks just sit there. We’re all still afoot shooting and swinging swords at each other.

I prefer the Necro over Ele, personally. I have both…and a Mesmer. Necro is my favorite of the 3 casters. I run a condition wellomancer (no minions….except flesh golem) traited with targetable wells. I like the aoe’s that I can target and fire quickly over and over. Ele’s aoe’s have felt slow to me.

My 3 level 80’s are in order of completion….Ranger, Engineer, Necro, lol…go figure. I like making wonky classes work. Solo’d everyone of them to 80. WvW with all of them. All of them have issues, but there are viable builds and ways to get around bugs and still have a good time.

I do love that Necro class. Make good money soloing around in Orr for mats on her.

I don’t do em’. If they happen while I’m questing/harvesting/exploring…fine. If not, then no biggie.

Passive condition removal would barely touch the amount of conditions a single wellomancer could lay down.

Only peeps that want to remove money are those that haven’t figured out how to acquire it.

If you actually play the game as ANet intended it to be played, you can’t help from making enough coin to keep you going.

I like being able to make anything I need. Especially exotics for my 80’s.

I’d be bored to tears by now with only one character. Like Deniara, I have one of each profession. 2 lvl 80’s the rest of them spead between level 15 to lvl 70. Another nice thng about a spread of diff leveled toons is your harvest box stays full for beginning or finsihing a tradeskill.

Not sure of the max…but one of my guildies is up to 12 .

Ranger for you then. The Engineer is more fun…but frustrating at times.

I have one of each profession. 2 lvl 80’s…the rest running from lvl 15 – lvl 70. Thinking about rolling another engineer too. I’ve probably deleted and started over a dozen toons in the lvl 20 area. Its just what I like to do…and I don’t get bored with it.

All of us play the game differently.

Its only an issue if you regularly server hop.

Everyones recruiting more than usual right now due to the ending of free transfers on the 28th.

The recruiting doesn’t bother since I have map chat disabled 95% of the time.

This list depresses me and I don’t even play Necromancer. All of my whys and hows. I commend you for the work you put into it, though.

None of the listed bugs in any way make the class unplayable.

I’ve only been in 3 times on my necro, but I’ve racked up over 400 kills. Condition Necro using scepter/dagger w/ targeted wells and upgraded staff (traited for larger marks & unstoppable).

Only level 70 right now, but all my current gear is rare. Pretty useful in denial of access of confined areas and ramps.

Its going to be my main wvw’er eventually.

Not sure how you can class any server in T2 as “always losing”. Just being there in T2 is testimony enough to each participating server winning plenty along that ol’ road.

WvW isn’t for everyone.

Dying in pve is embarrassing. I’d rather spend the silver and save a bit of dignity tbh.

I often wondered about that as I too always help downed players and often have them disappear on me. Lol then the animation sticks as you get eaten alive by mobs.

A lot of times though, I don’t see the “A noble soul is healing you” until I’ve already wp’d. Otherwise I’d have stayed. But in a big fight, someone healing you is liable to die also…sometimes if a wp is close, I’ll just go to keep from anyone else getting killed.
