I’m going to quote myself for the second time, because I think this solves your issue but everyone seems to be missing my post…

How about this situation:

Team 1 is winning 350-200. A player in team 2 ragequits and team 2 loses.
In this situation team 1 was likely going to win anyway and was actually the reason for the disconnect, therefore team 1 should get the win since they were winning before the disconnect.

I don’t know if this is already the case, but if not then it should be.

What if someone on my team, in my party, DCs for longer than the grace period, but I win the game 4v5 regardless?

Full loss for ladder standing.

Someone on the team mentioned that, I think. The theory is if we allowed this then people would have someone D/C in the beginning just to guarantee that the other party members can’t lose ladder standing.

I’m not sure I understand this logic, I would like to suggest a change:

If someone in the party DCs and the team lose, they receive the full loss (which is what happens under the current system anyway).
If someone in your party DCs and the team wins, the remaining members receive a win.

In this scenario, someone in the party DCing does not guarantee that the other party members won’t lose ladder standing, because they still lose it if the game is lost. This however gives leeway to teams that are winning 300-0 before a party member has a powercut or something similar.

If you DC and do not reconnect within the grace period, yes.

This is to discourage groups from leaving the match early to invalidate a win for the other team.

I really hope that you aren’t saying that the winning team does not get a win if someone on the losing team deserts. That makes no sense.

I’m hoping the actual implementation is like this:

1. If you win the game and played until the end, you get a win
2. If you win the game, and deserted, you get nothing
3. If you lose the game and had a deserter, the remaining team members do not get a loss or negative mmr
4. If you lose the game and WERE the deserter, you get a loss and negative MMR. Ideally, I’d even make it so they get a double loss.

It doesn’t need to be a net sum zero of wins and losses.

To clarify, I am not using party and team interchangeably.

If you play solo, you will never lose ladder standing because someone else on your team deserted.

If you play with a party, you will never lose ladder standing because someone else on your team, but not in your party, deserted.

If you are the deserter, no matter who wins, you will take a full loss worth of ladder standing.

If you play with a party, and someone on your team deserts then everyone in the party will take a full loss worth of ladder standing.

You will only earn ladder standing if the losing team did not have deserters, with the assumption that the game wasn’t a valid challenge between teams.

If both teams have deserters, the game does not count for ladder standing at all.

The point in emphasis is probably controversial to some, but we feel it is necessary to prevent exploits, and permissible because of the grace period.

He said you will never lose ladder standing, not you will never gain ladder standing.

On another note, surely you should lose ladder standing if your team was clearly losing before the person on your team that wasn’t in your party disconnects?

I may be missing the point you’re trying to make, but you get the exact same achievements in unranked as you do in ranked. They both count as ‘rated arenas’, which seems to be a term you are mixing up with ‘ranked arenas’.

PvE players by more gems and fund development, just be thankful they exist otherwise there would be no PvP.

I don’t mind pve content at all I will not play it anyways so… I just ignore it. As long as it makes pve players happy and spending money to keep the game alive, any pvp content is a “bonus” although it makes things worse then they are more often then not…

I don’t think the difference is as big as you think it is. I imagine that the majority of gems bought will be for cosmetic reasons (new skins, makeover kits). Also PvP players probably have more reason to buy gold with gems since they are less likely to farm for say, a legendary.

Taking beast at beginning in Ranked

Try to look at it from the eyes of a beginner guys.

The NPCs award points, and give you a buff. Who wouldn’t want that?

It takes a higher level of understanding of the both the map and conquest mechanics to get that securing mid is important.

How would you guys suggest we go about teaching this to players?

You(AN) are always looking for difficult ways to do simple things. REMOVE PVE from PVP it’s simple as that! You can not teach people of intelligence!

No.

Lord rush and forest creatures can turn a close game into a win or loss and is a brilliant mechanic to have in higher tier pvp with two stalemated teams. It forces the team to always have this at the back of their mind when playing those maps.

Fake casting worth it?

In very specific situations, yes.

Off the top of my head, moa bird comes to mind. Top tier players can easily spot the animation for this and will dodge it, so you can either cast it from stealth or fake cast it to make your target waste dodges.

Guild rankings would have to be carefully planned, or it would just be “who has the largest pvp guild?” if going for a more additive approach, or making it impossible for pve guilds to get on the leaderboard even if the whole top 20 was in it if an average approach is used.

Ironically this is actually heavily discouraged in ranked arena since it counts as a automatic loss for you if you reroll >.>

So I’m sure we’ve all queued in ranked arena with 4 people and getting a pug that does not communicate at all and has no concept of teamplay while being against a full organised team. This was not that big of an issue previously since people that pugged team arenas generally had some desire to communicate with a team otherwise they would just solo queue.

One suggestion I have is to have a minimum number of unranked games won before being allowed to enter ranked arena, therefore requiring a minimum amount of team arena experience before being allowed to play games that affect the ranking of the rest of your team. What wouldn’t work is total games played or using rank as an indicator, since custom arenas do not promote any kind of team play.

A step further from this would be to have a similar restriction on unranked arenas requiring a certain number of custom arena games won, which would give new players a chance to get used to their class in pvp before trying proper matches.

Engineer magnet pull will interrupt just about any heal if you can predict it, doesn’t matter if they are blocking or in stealth.

as someone who mains d/p thief I fight against condition builds all the time and it’s no mystery heavy condition pressure can counter us badly, yet i breathe a sigh of relief when engaging in a 1v1 against a condi ranger because of how easy it is to handle them, even on 26006.

Maybe you just thought bad Rangers. In a 1 on 1 fight a condi survival ranger, with sword or axe will always win a 1v1. If it becomes 2v1 or whatever then fine yeah, but thief wont beat ranger in that setup 1v1. Of course most rangers suck.

I won’t deny that condi rangers are one of the strongest 1v1 builds/classes, but they bring absolutely nothing to a team fight except predominantly single-target conditions and easily cleansable aoe conditions, which makes them good only for defending the close point or pushing the far point (I know they have some aoe condi damage, but this is a very small percentage of their total dps). But even then, they don’t have the mobility to push the far point from the close point without easily giving up the close point, the enemy team would likely see you running to the far point as well, causing you to lose both the close and far points.

I would much rather have a celestial ele of some description (d/d or staff) as the side-bunker since they actually bring something to the table in team fights, while being very capable at 1v1.

What about bunker guards that do their job but usually end up with low amount of points?

Leaderboard points have nothing to do with the score you get in matches (except maybe getting more than 0).

This penalizes solo people who are thrown into a match against premades and are basically given a loss by the matcher. In my experience, it is really hard to earn points on a loss.

Not really, if you lose as a solo queuer against a premade you don’t lose anything, you will even gain a point if it was a close loss. This is in fact the issue with the current system, you can gain points so much faster as a solo queuer than a team queuer – I wouldn’t be surprised if 90% of the top 100 players are predominantly solo queuers.

I get the same bug with Spvp. Once I enter a match(not even start it) I’m stuck there untill the score pops at the end. If i switch to a different toon Saved at another location, it pulls that toon to the pvp match, logging out completely doesn’t help either, SAME THING!

That isn’t a bug, this is a measure used to stop people bailing on pvp matches leaving their team 4v5.

The attachment shows my pvp leaderboard details between two refreshes 1 hour apart. The only difference between the two is that I had gained an extra win, but this somehow resulted in a 5 point loss.

Suppressed messaging when commanding

I wasn’t sure where to post this, so I put it here.
This is a recurring issue which is highly irritating. While commanding, I have to be able to write numerous instructions within a short space of time and occasionally have to repeat the same instruction several times (e.g. saying ‘Turret’ at the BBB boss in Crown Pavilion).
This often results in my messages being suppressed and essentially rendering me unable to command for several minutes.

@Jerzor – Rabid isn’t the only thing with condition damage, I’m pretty sure you get Carrion armor at level 70. All the main stat sets repeat every 10 levels or so

Story quest keeps disconnecting

I keep disconnecting right at the start of the battle during the ‘Killing Fields’ story quest. I had this issue with the Claw Island quest beforehand, which I resolved by running the -repair command, but it doesn’t seem to solve the disconnecting issue with ‘Killing Fields’.

I am able to play other parts of the game without any disconnection. The error I get when I disconnect is 7:11:3:191:101.
