LFG Tool - : Why have report button ?

I saw a tweet from the GW2 team saying to report anyone selling paths.

As for consequences of reporting, thats for the support team to decide, You would have to ask them directly about that.

The nature of the internet will always cause this, all popular mmos suffer from this (except lotro which always seemed immune). The devs put out content which requires server coordination and i imagine part of their intention is that this will, long term, help build better communities as eventually players realise it is in their best interest for teamwork. Time will tell if it will work, altho its clear on some servers it has

I have to say, apart from a few cusses and minor rows, it hasnt been as bad as what you have seen on my server. But, I also have little need to go to lions arch so dont see the map chat there

Facebook is updating server kill list with screenies for anyone interested. Twitter also confirms a number of overflows too. Looks like plenty of servers now adding thier victories

The only thing is remember is, that (afaik) the Pact offensive (as ref in that screenshot) does continue post-Zhaitan in Orr. It could be construed from that message that becuase of the offesnive and defeating zhaitan teq has eveolved. But, again as stated, it’s unclear.

not quite, after the defeat of Zhiatain, it is no longer an offensive, but rather an occupation. An offensive is an invasion, but that stage has passed, the troops that remain in orr, are simply on clean up duty, which can hardly be called an offensive.

I know what you mean, but by their definition, it could be what they refer to

This is useful info Bobby, but again, finding out this is part of the story through a forum shows something is going wrong in game.

There could have been an intro for this at black citAdel with rytlock or more importantly the pact leaders. Finding the dragon clues could set up convos with priory npcs that then teases the connection to what is happening in Tyria. Right now, theres nothing tieing this to a story except your above post. Its just a boss fight and nothing else.

Saying more will come later is great….but how do in game players currently know this until the UI is ready?

You didn’t need to find out via the forum. You were just too busy being angry and flaunting your entitlement complex to work it out on your own.

Much like the entitlement complex of the likely overgrown kid above my post.

eh? I think you replied to the wrong post there I’m not angry at all, although I am entitled to express my opinion..with ideas..exactly as I did… Also, the writers have even said they haven’t put enough story communication. Not sure what constructive point your reply was attempting here..

GW2 End game Tequatl?

in Tequatl Rising

Posted by: Randulf.7614

Randulf.7614

The zone lvl is irrelevant as you scaled down and end game content is rightfully not contained to max lvl zones. That would not be right for GW2 at all.

Should it be Teq? Yes.
- his revamp is being bundled ito the current living story and will be explained later
- this is a test case for other bosses. The current ones needed a reva,p and at least 1-2 needed to be challenging
- no reason to suggest new dragons wont be like this or balanced somewhere between teq and old bosses. The longevity of this encounter will dictate that no doubt

Remember, this should have existed at the beginning. Face rolling bosses are fine to have in the game…but not every boss should be that way

Teq isn't the challenge organizing people is

in Tequatl Rising

Posted by: Randulf.7614

Randulf.7614

Organising is always going to be the biggest challenge of this type of fight and is the direction the devs wanted to go in here. There are other boss fights for other dificulties out there which are comparatively mroe rewarding, so there’s no need for an immediate nerf.

Do the afkers need addressing? Absolutely. How? Not a clue!!

Has it fractured the community? Yes, but this community can agree on nothing and it’s been fracturing for a while now. It’s concerning, but it’s a fact of life with popular internet games.

Is overflow a problem? Yes and I don’t really see overflow finishing this. Partly because its too hard o coordinate an overflow and eventually numbers at the raid will settle and less ppl will be sent to overflow. However, anyone who can organise an overflow to kill him deserves kudos and a special reward in my book!

Is the event perfect? No, but it’s a welcome start. They wont fill the game with these that would silly, but 1-2 of these type of events are always healthy for the game

A few suggestions...

Randulf.7614

Although I’m already seeing lower and lower attendances on our server each spawn and I agree big parts of the day are hadrer to fill spots with, bringning back old Teq for those times would be bad and prob impossible. Remember he spawns on all servers and then overflows at the same time. Diff servers and zones have diff peak times and it would prob wouldnt be possiblt on a technical level to do this. Also, ppl would just ignore new teq even more and wait until old teq comes round.

The only thing I’m not a fan of is the time limit. It’s disproportionate to the fight and other bosses and tbh I would enjoy a more prolonged battle. Having said that, I’m also not going to call for a nerf yet. It’s too early and clearly there’s a huge number of ppl having fun with it and getting satisfaction from the win.

Long term sustainability? Probably not, but changing it down the line is viable when ppl are
a) bored of failing
b) got the achievements and no longer feel motivated to continue

GG! Blackgate and Video

in Tequatl Rising

Posted by: Randulf.7614

Randulf.7614

I was one of the turret operators during the fight last night in which we finally defeated Teq on Blackgate and I am a native of that server.

I can honestly say our zerg did a great job, conjured weapons were used and food buffs helped quite it a bit but it wasesent as straightforward as dps’ing Teq, others have made this point in this thread so it does not bare repeating.

The turret operators I would say have the most critical job in this event as there are only 6 turrets and after a bit of trial and error we finally hit the nail between the 6 of us and got used to the mechanics and how they should be used during this event.

Cleansing is absolutely vital and to anticipate when to hit Teq to remove his hardened shells plus protecting our zerg and the people who were defending us at the turrets was the key to this whole fight.

Another huge factor is that 30 second ish window after the megalaser is defended were as a turret user you apply quickness as much as you can to the zerg and use the number 1 skill as much as you can with as much a 9k+ per hit. Its considerable damage with 6 turrets hitting Teq at the same time.

With time and practice people will understand these basics unless Anet decides to tweak it of course.

I wont deny using TS helped a great deal, all the turret operators by the way where on TS. In fact I would even go far as to say that as an open world event it should not be necessary to use it but unfortunately the reality is its needed to coordinate.

It is concerning though that servers with lower population will struggle with this so I do believe Anet will have to tweak this event to compensate for that fact.

Anyway have fun everyone and hopefully well see a couple more servers tonight manage to do this event.

Good luck all!

Pol

Whilst I agree TS/mumble should never be required for an open event raid, it’s still a huge achievement for you guys – not just beating him, but also managing to organise and coordinate, as shown by the fact everyone was in position at the start of the fight.

Good job all round!! Any reports of turret users not getting loot? Ive heard rumours of that at earlier phases

Shatterer was identical apart from more health. No mitigating mechanics to prevent the safe spot being used whilst he uselessly breathed flame or attacked the empty space in front of him (the random crystal drops made no difference at all)

The Future of Tyria

in Living World

Posted by: Randulf.7614

Randulf.7614

It’s possible zhaitan can still corrupt even if truly “dead”. There is ofc a lot of Orr unexplored. It’s possible that area could be used to show any dwindling corruption.

I think the game wasn’t built in mind for a fully living breathing world in the terms being construed. It would require huge overhauls to each affected zone to do so and I imagine that’s a lot of extra work on top of the 2 week schedule, that would also invalidate a huge chunk of older content. It’s one disadvantage of us going up and destroying an Elder Dragon.

In the current context though..the invasions are more in keeping. Teq revamp is more in keeping. They could press forward the charr/human negotiations rather than having the delegates standing in a tent doing nothing for a year. Random attacks on Ebonhawke ala invasions with Renegades would classify too. Same with future dragon minion attacks.

Removing corruption or overhauling zones? Potentially over ambitious and complicated for any game imo

Shatterer

in Tequatl Rising

Doesn’t seem to have changed much – the extra hp is noticeable but there’s still a safe spot you can stand and avoid damage. It just looks odd when he’s breathing and attacking his front and everyone is actually safe to his flank.

The Jormag phase 1 improvements were better though

No not at all, we’re used to dps/zerg tactics – fair enough since thats all we’ve been asked to play. This in some ways is how it should have launched, but its too early for the nerf cries until we can see if there is a learning curve.

All MMOs have these bosses where it takes weeks to work them out. GW2 should be no exception as long as game essential gear doesnt drop (which it doesnt)

It’s just getting used to learning mechnaics and not pure dps/zerging

Claw Of Jormag......overflow??

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Randulf.7614

By doing what? Overflow kicked in because in because the zone is full. They found out from Lost Shores if they increase the number of ppl for a zone, ppl cant play in the zone due to lag.
Next week Teq kicks in with overflow having the event run simultaneously in the same way invasions work. They said they’d look at ways to do this for the other events if possible.

If you are on a server where Jormag creates overflow, I bet a lot of players would be happy with such an active server!
