Try Angvars Trove in Snowden (there are 2 wps next to each in the NW corner)
(edited by Randulf.7614)
Can you remember roughly when you last had 100%? That might allow for backtracking to see when last WP was added
edit: number 512 was added during flame and frost in MArch
(edited by Randulf.7614)
Many were also added to places like Orr and also where Guild Challenges were added (eg Snowden)
I vote stickying what Josh said in every subforum and then ensuring everyone is forced to read it as a pop up before posting!
Hey Chris,
I have to ask this once more on this tread – will we have any opportunities to share our thougths on storyline and in which direction it should follow? Due to high numbers of post it could have been missed by you.
I, and I bet many more players, are very fascinated about the lore of Tyria and the ways it’s handed to the player base. Is there any chance we will see the same collaborative bridge between devs and players – such as me – at the topic of storyline, or some new possibilities of introducing it to the player base?
Greetings, Pat
This was brought up earlier in the thread, but to save you scrolling back through – yes this was one of many such pve discussions that the community could have the chance to discuss in the format Chris is putting forward
I would sticky it for the weekend players to peruse, but I suspect left open it will derail further. I think 19 pages of largely constructive chat has covered all the bases
Virtually nothing to kill in Frostgorge! (and Jormag is still bugged – never lands). A few mobs here and there, but pretty much an empty zone
Gunnars Hold server
(edited by Randulf.7614)
This happened to me – if I remember rightly I had to buy and learn the specific recipe for the weapon I wanted to get round it. Was a bit annoying compared to the ease of other weapon crafting. I don’t think I ever found a way to use the inscription via discovery – only with the recipe.
Still happening on Gunnars Hold.
Seems to be a constant/frequent problem
Living Story/Lore implementation is prob the only thing I’m personally fussed about, esp as it’s the main focus right now
When anet stated during Eurogamer there wouldn’t be anymore zones, a part of me died.
Any more zones full stop, or any more zones this year?
Indeed, I couldn’t find where it was said during Eurogamer categorically no zones ever. Can you provide a link?
2996kittenris Whiteside.6102:I want to echo the people who have recently been requesting in-game polls. Since currently there has been no real acknowledgement or response to player dissatisfaction with the pace of Living Story releases, I have chosen to simply not log in at all to avoid being counted as a “satisfied customer” in your concurrency metrics.
An in-game poll where I would have the chance to have my opinions actually be counted would be something worth logging in for.
I think this is an idea worth discussion for sure. But i have a question:
Would in game polls affect the immersion for the player?
Chris
But what constitutes as “Immersion”?
…you guys had said you didn’t want to do things like fight with town clothes because it “broke immersion”, but, like…can we say that the LFG tool breaks immersion? Not too sure we can if you were keen to add it
Good point. So for me immersion breaking would be a pop up appearing after an event completes or following beating a dungeon. But you raise an interesting point with LFG. Perhaps (and i am just brainstorming here) it could be a tab that you can open up to give feedback.
I will think about it some more. Keep the ideas coming.
Chris
- Seiging a T3 keep
- Just broke through outer
- Attacker stacks, fire fields, drops veils
- ‘Hi, how do you feel about guild wars 2 today?’ popup appears
- Guild stop fighting, keep lord takes a tea break while everyone fills in survey. Warriors clean their banners, guardians polish the golems.
- War resumes.I can see that happening.
But so English of us

Chris
A poll sent to our login email would (hopefully) not affect in game immersion.
It would not. It would also have the benefit of reaching those who play less regularly/taking a break who would not see an in game poll and show that the company is interested in the opinion of players past and present (and thus future)
They would have to timed accordingly. Maybe twice a year/quarterly

For me yes and perhaps many in game who don’t visit the forums it would possibly seem random. Never been a fan of the idea personally – I would much rather see conversations like this..outside of the game (forums, reddit, livechat etc). They also strike me as a rather desperate measure for an MMo company to take and almost acknowledges that their product is poor. I know Anet get a lot of flak (way too much imo), but I don’t see they are at this stage or anywhere close.
Personally I’d prefer to see a more regular update from the director rather than just every half year/quarterly. If you look at Colin’s last update, it’s out of date mostly as you have caught up and overtaken it. If it must be that we will get 2 week updates, a “what’s ahead” every month on these forums is more appropriate to the timescale you are working towards.
It’s slightly off topic, but would aid communication if workload is so high for the rest of the team.Oh and don’t apologise for being a fellow Brit…but never use the word riffing again
Not apologizing for being a brit (-: Just pointing out the daily persecution i receive from my fellow developers (-:
Chris
Next time they persecute, say..
“Keep your north and south shut on your boat race”
that’ll learn ’em

As the SAB dev said, the engine isn’t designed for jumping to this extent. To be honest, they’ve done a pretty good job at getting the game to do what it does with JP’s considering. It’s worse for larger chars due to some change in the camera during development – future JP’s they try try to design with this in mind, but old JP’s suffer for it.
I’m not a massive fan, but they get easier the more you do them. And when you see other MMO’s try to copy them and fail miserably (I’m looking at you Lotro), suddenly you appreciate the JP’s here a lot more…
It’s pretty much an MMO thing. TSW is worse for eg – anyone wanting to join the upper echelon dungeons will not be allowed in most groups. No first timers allowed are reg specified (which can only hurt the community long term)
It was the same here after the new TA path – “experienced only”…less than 24hrs after the patch, when plenty of ppl wouldn’t have even had the chance to log in and play let alone be experienced!
Setting your own lfg descriptions or joining a like minded guild are the standard ways to get round this. I personally have no issue with level/prof/build/experience for those I team with and there are plenty of players I’m sure who are the same.
Either a dev stole his puppy in real life…
.. or he means this https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Superior-Rune-of-the-Noble-changes
Most of GW2 has fulfilled my mmo wants and needs since I slowed down playing Anarchy Online, which was for what I personally wanted at the time, near perfect.
As for combat, I am probably more at home with GW2 than any other mmo I’ve played.
I’d probably like to see a quality of story telling and quest depth rivalling TSW (which has an awesome story and quest system) and the instance + guild functions of Lotro (before Lotro lost its way about 18 months back).
Yeah, ill wait until they are in game before passing judgement too. The skins are irrelevant anyway since I would transmute my current look over them if i decided to get a set.
It’s unhelpfully labelled as Harpoon Master
We took 2 sturdy heavies who grabbed the elementals and tanked them in different corners out of the oozes path. That gave a clear path for the runners. Was the easiest of the strategies we tried.
It’s the result after Rytlock bites Logan during a full moon…
Can’t comment on rest of dungeon – we were getting wiped at sparki/slick so have no idea how hard rest is until we can get passed them.
At least the achievements feel like they are worth something and feel earned.
I will try the new path before assuming anything.
But yeah, I’m not going with my main, I know that nobody wants to run a dungeon with a Ranger. Not true. I personally have no qualms about any profession or any spec ppl choose to bring.
Really?
Can I give you a hug then?Hug me too, you could do a dungeon with me as a condi necromancer for all I care
Group hug people!

Not all, some only last 2 weeks depending on schedule. If I remember correctly, Tequatl LS achievements end today since it is part of the Sept content.
Invasions were the same – specific achievements lasted only 2 weeks and then were archived
I would very much enjoy seeing my Warrior bash people’s heads in with a book.
“LEARN IT!”
“PAIN, VOLUME ONE THROUGH TEN!”
“Oh look, there’s an obituary here! YOURS!”
“…The End!”
Best post on the forum in a long time!
I still don’t like the time limit, but that’s just the way it is sadly.
Conspiracy theory: The time limit is there to force players to use 3rd party guides to be able to complete it in time.
We could try to play a game, Ill hide somewhere in Tyria and you and your guild try to find me in 20 min. Lets see how easy that is without any hints at all.
I’m just crazy enough to almost take you up on that
Bounties (as discussed relentlessly on these boards) need reworking in my mind to cater for all sizes of guilds. The time limit serves no purpose for this type of gameplay and only enhances the luck element rather than the skill.
The Guild Treks however, are one of my fav pieces of mmo group content. I hope they keep adding more screenshots over time. I know the rewards aren’t great, but it is entirely tempered by being able to explore and the satisfaction from finding the location. I still don’t like the time limit, but that’s just the way it is sadly.
Looking forward to rushes if/when we ever unlock them. They sound familiar to the old chicken run days of Lotro!
I thoroughly enjoyed the dragon clues – this is exactly the sort of exploration stuff I really enjoy in the game. I would def like to see more. The main problem I found was the temporary nature – this didn’t need to be a 2 week thing and I could have hunted at my lesiure rather than rush through it (although I didn’t use Dulfy, as time constraints aside it was never necessary to use)
The giant hot air balloons were also unanimously enjoyed by our guild. They added a lot to the scenery and again, it was just fun to explore and get involved with the events.
So, I’m afraid I have to disagree about them not being fun – you have to remember all sorts of different people play the game for their own reasons and (pinatas aside) these were aimed at players like myself. Having said that, this should exist alongside other content. The clues, whilst great for me, only went hand in hand with a tough piece of open raid content and understandeably many felt shut out.
A balance is needed for sure, but removing these “scavenger” quests entirely is not something I’d like to see
Ah I don’t mean stretching the dragons out 10 years on their own, I merely suggested other options that we would have should all the dragons hypothetically be dead in 5 years (which probably wouldn’t be a wise idea anyway – killing one off in the first few months was too soon as it was). There’s easily 10 years mileage in 3 extra continents alongside 5 dragons.
If the devs chose to go that way of course..
The Molten and Aetherblade dungeons are being added to the fractals later this year, so they will be able to be played for those who missed them.
For the rest, I’d personally prefer a SAB style holodeck to a time machine.
Top 5
1. Fractals – love the idea here. Looking forward to more being added
2. Invasions. Not the zerg part, but the feeling of fighting back a real army. Has great potential for dragon invasions if the reward/farm/failure balanced is tweaked. The clockwork mobs looked awesome – kudos to the designers.
3. Southson – It’s a nice zone with harder mobs. I found little to complain about
4. Boss and champ overhauls. It’s a step in the right direction, just wish it launched bosses better
5. Achievement points. I’m a sucker for these!!
honourable mentions to the noir custscene we had. That was cool. And the wallet.
Worst 5
1. Living Story going to 2 weeks. Content feels rushed and not ready – indicated by responses from writers about time pressures and lack of UI to fill in backstory for new players.
2. Scarlet. Too cartoony for my tastes
3. Too many RNG skins. Happy to buy with gems or earn in the content.
4. A lack of Dragon activity. Not even a pact investigation. Nothing
5. Emphasis on festivals. Understood reasoning..just didn’t agree with it.
Have to say, I was finding more things to like than dislike, which is always good!
How long do you think it should take to fight all the dragons? After we defeat the dragons, what then?
Well, Cantha and Elona would provide a couple of years each, with the unknown continent also unexplored. There’s a good ten years from just dragons and that alone if they chose that path. I wouldn’t want to slay the dragons within 5 years mind, I just want to see them really starting to have some impact.
p.s..the puff the magic dragon song Elb posted – genius
I like the idea, but “living” story is an odd word for just a normal mmo story released in stages. A living story would be better as multiple stories around the world at the same time, either separate of converging, whilst impacting on the world as it unfolded. I have criticisms of the writing and lore too, but I’m also playing through GW1 prophecies on HM atm and I’d forgotten how much worse that was than any of the story here.
Part of the reason it feels disjointed is because the links are often tenuous between chapters or the explanations for events and characters can only be found outside of the game. I’m no fan of Scarlet, but I probably could appreciate her as a villain if she was fleshed out in game and not solely on the website.
It’s not putting me off the game yet though – I still thoroughly enjoy it, but I think someone on the forum described it pretty well for a new player coming to GW2 and “Opening a book halfway through and not knowing what happened before”.
People jump on what they say and take it as gospel and then rant at Anet about broken promises. So they are deliberately being vague so as not to cause themselves issues down the line. When they say " we probably wont", many interpret that as a “defintely 100% wont”, which is of course utterly wrong. I suspect when/if the more vocal side of the community calm themselves somewhat, they will become less reticent to communicate their plans in detail.
As for level cap, well there is already a sep thread discussing that in the genereal discussion subforum. Personally I wouldn’t expect (or want) to see it happen.
The scaling of their events has been their answer to smaller group content, I would like to see them expand on it even more with bigger chains.
Fractals lower level is viable. Ive been in 4 man groups which have run thro the lower levels with ease, so its possible 3 man would work, albeit with challenge. Hopefully they will expand on scaling dungeon in the future.
Quite the opposite in fact. I always find a profession in most MMOs to fit my playstyle, but often I have to force it a little.
In GW2 however, the options, builds, skills etc feel a lot more accessible and wide ranging enough to allow me to naturally fit into a playstyle I enjoy – regardless of what the meta is or other players perceptions. What is also enjoyable, is that becuase of the blurred roles, I can pick a class and easily adapt it to a playstyle which suits me – I can’t do that with other games and their differing professions. For me personally, I think that’s a huge factor in my continued playing, even when I get frustrated with the direction the game goes in at times.
GW1 interestingly enough remains the only game I have completely struggled to find a comfortable, natural playstyle with. I enjoyed it for sure, but at times it felt like a chore. And the hardest game to return to after a break for this very reason.
There would be no logical reason to do raise the cap – it would serious and potentially irrevocably undermine the game.
I had no issue with ascended coming in, although I could understand 100% why it drew frustration out of people and it certainly was too early to knee jerk it into the game. Having grinded or worked so hard to get full ascended, I could not see the core playerbase then scrapping all of that for more levels and grinding all over again – all future content could easily be based on level 80 mechanics instead.
There’s an argument that says, well if they levelled gear with you then it wouldn’t be so bad. True, but then why raise the level cap. Level caps exist as false feelings of progression and to intice ppl to play more. Something better achieved with improved content.
Lotro shot itself in the foot with yearly +10 level grinds. I have little wish to see another game I enjoy go down that road and I expect (maybe hoping) that the devs feel the same way.
Politically yes, geographically it is still officially within the region of Kryta – it just doesn’t fall under its juridstiction anymore
The Lionguard have been in Caledon from game start. They have a number of forts there. Given that LA is smack dab in the middle of Maguuma, it makes sense for them to have outliers as a screen against things coming out of the jungle or sea. Remember, while the current LA started as a pirate run trading post, it also rose from the floodwaters thanks to Cobiah Marriner’s determination to forge a force able to withstand the Risen threat. Also it became a political force holding its own against Kryta’s attempt at assimilation. So it’s going to act in ways governments do, including sticking military force in places not technically under its jurisdiction.
If something’s stirring at TA, it’ll focus Lionguard attention. However, they aren’t there only because of TA.
LA is in Kryta
Remember, this isnt Game of Thrones where thousands of years pass and apparently civilisation fails to move on. Tyria is meant to evolve and that means technology. The fantasy genre has become extremely stale in the last couple of decades, but an emergence of urban, punk fantasy has refreshened it more recently. Its very much in vogue right now across films and books
Its extremely one dimensional to think of fantasy as D&D or medieval. Fantasy is and can be so much more than that and aetherblades, steampunk, zeppelins all fit perfectly with a fantasy setting. The world is moving away from its Gods and technological revoultions naturally follow suit
Of all the criticisms I have with the living world concept, I find this aspect actually holds together reasonably well
They are revamping karka queen ala tequatl next. I suspect that will help
If you can dodge and jump well enough, yes rare is fine vs teq.
I agree with what ppl say about defending though. Turret defence is very important and a high dpser is invaluable there
omg, can we STOP with the Sylvari? getting SO SICK of Anet’s Sylvari swooning.. on top of them getting all hot & bothered over all things Sylvari (the 2nd least popular race) We have to deal with Scarlet, the most annoying character ever, AGAIN?
I respectfully disagree with your rant. I like Scarlet as a villain and I like Sylvari as a race.
You’re proven to be in the minority about the latter, and I presume about the former sentiment of yours, too.
So are you in the latter case. AFAIK not a single race has an absolute majority.
Quaggan do!
Sounds great fun and a brilliant idea too. Wont be around that weekend, but hope it is a huge success
A lot of servers of all population sizes are killing him regulaly now and it is less than a week in, i think their facebook is tracking server names.
I doubt we will see a nerf yet whilst servers are actively winning. A decline in participation long term may change that if it wrre to occur
