Outfits can’t be made that way. They cited technical issues when they first designed them. Outfits are one pieces and one pieces only. The only way round that is to make them armour pieces and armour pieces are exclusively now developed for in game.
Ectos will come by the truck load if you do Auric Basin successfully. Salving the rares you get in the treasure rooms will net you maybe a dozen ectos a run on average depending on the kit you use.
If you haven’t got that far yet (prob not if u r just 80), then world bosses, silverwastes or the frostgorge champ train – the map rewards from frostgroege this week are insane!

It’s not overlooked, it’s that the system isn’t in place for dyeable back pieces. Now, until that gets changed, if ever, the moth backpack will remain as is.
We already know adding dye channels to weapons would be significant time investment from previous, recent dev statements. Whilst back pieces are unlikely to be the same level of work, it still might be more work to retro-actively do than they are willing to put in at this time.
We’ve seen in the events the ley line coalesce into elementals. With more magic released back into the World, I wonder if it could coalesce into even more powerful forms.
So pretty…
They confirmed before HoT released that agony would not be forming part of the raids
The point is moo-t anyway
Bagpipes
Item to make my magic carpet into a glider
Cowboy Hat
Quip. I fail to understand what it even is meant to be.
I disagree with the underwater ones – in fact compared to the other skins for underwater weapons, actually the strongest legendaries in that regard.
Moot is my fav
I make orbs on mine and occasionally platinum ingots
No, but there has been mention of a work to improve the forge in a non-specific sense. It slipped out when they accidentally patched in some forge recipes for halloween items. Maybe this will be part of the wider update when it is complete.
If it isn’t already, please can we have this on the launcher for prominence
human male warrior.
I also dont get why so many people like to play human, I mean you play one in real life for like 20 years or more why would you still wan to play it in a fantasy world.
Three reasons.
- Players more often than not prefer an avatar they can better relate to. With non-humans that is less easy to do for some
- GW1 was human only and many want to carry that story across in a similar way. The NPC races of Norn, Asura and Charr were also quite different in GW1, with Norn in particular being heavily watered down in GW2, potentially making them less desirable. Charr were also the enemy, which attaches a certain stigma.
- Humans are standardised models. That means clipping is less of a problem vs charr, JPs are less of a problem vs Norn and clothing aesthetics are more visible compared to asura
Plenty of players can get over both of those reasons, but they are predominatly why players choose humans. Sylvari are a bit of an anomaly – they fit in easier since they are new and are almost identical beyond some facial art and an glowing aura.
As for most common class, I would suspect Ranger gets that nod.

“Are you up for a challenge?”
I mailed two people and now I can’t mail anyone else. TWO people.
Why is this a thing?
Please make it not so restrictive.
Another fine game feature brought to you by your friendly Goldsellers. Message them a thank you when you get the chance,
He’ll have to wait for the excessive messaging suppression to pass before he can thank them
It even gets in the way of good manners…
5-15 people in a HoT map is virtually impossible. The map would be asking for a closure long before it got that low. Same with Cursed Shores.
Players are generally are spread out, but I’m not sure what advice I can give since I have never seen what you are saying you are experiencing. Map chat should be your first port of call, but lfg will work in HoT maps. Less so in cursed shore I would imagine.
Depends what you are doing. For bosses and meta events, use the lfg tool, join a group and right click on their name to taxi into their map.
Also, as he sticky at the top of the forum says, the search tool does not work.
I enjoyed exploring it. The problem with the majority of GW2 maps is that I dont find them satisfying to explore. There is no sense of adventure because everything is too easy and accessible to reach. It waters down the landmarks and landscapes enormously when you reach a cool location, yet you are a quick walk to the next.
TD, whilst flawed, is a map catering to adventurers and explorers. Finding masteries and hps deep within tunnels which require a bit of though over the navigation is healthy for a fantasy game.
I understand the frustrations and I am not advocating all maps emulate this, but maps need to cater to a wider audience. A full batch of bland, flat maps is as much not for everyone as complex maps are. Hopefully they will find a middle ground going forward.
Hello,
Thanks for the call out Gaile. The Layline sounds were a team effort between Drew and I.
Maaaaate.
‘Layline’ sounds are the ones produced by the young couple in the next door hotel room while you’re desperately trying to catch some sleep on a bumpy mattress.
Leyline sounds are the stuff you worked on.
I prefer the latter a lot for ingame sounds OR next door hotel room sounds.
There is a house on a corner in Divinitys Reach which appears to have “layline” sounds. These devs will go to great lengths to set a certain ambience for their games…
A few people brought this up in map chat during the early part of the event. I agree, they added a lot to the feel and atmosphere of the event.
Would like to see a lot more emphasis on these little ambient details. I thought HoT was crying out for it as I toured the jungle.
p.s. for those who didn’t know, when the event is active, you can also glide on the ley line spout

Depends entirely on the precursor. The Tiger bow certainly has a fully fledged story, unrelated to crafting for tier 1. Rodgort also had some nice storytelling elements.
The crafting is part of the story in some cases granted, but it varies from weapon to weapon how much of the core part of that story it forms.
I also require this. I’m not the world’s greatest player, but my tanky warrior might be of some use if a team is being put together.
EU/UK player
They removed the heralds concept though. Wasnt it because they werent serving the intended purpose, ie not being used by players? I liked the idea, but it was clear they werent as organic to the content as they wanted them to be.
I think Norgu is a contender for a Revenant legend. Without his heroics, we could never have won against Abaddon….
Im slightly interested in ls3, but after HoT and the deliberate direction to cut all the interesting stuff out, I am beginning to lose interest. Whilst production and dialogue is certainly improving, it is well below the standard for what Anet should be capable of.
I would prefer the gw1 style of individual campaigns, but I think that ship has sailed.
Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised by the length and quality of ls3 though.
As far as I can remember, I do not recall any intention to include salvageable legendaries.
With the new pre crafting system, to do so would trivialise legendaries as Just A flesh Wound described above
Now that you have done the first bandit bounty, you will start the daily from tomorrow.
One more point that game security just brought up:
While your pet is auto-attacking your avatar should be in NO WAY attacking or casting any skill.
Wait so if you’re playing Ranger or Necromancer and you need to run AFK, you have to turn off whatever skill you have on Auto-cast off? Just in case?
I’m a bit confused by the statement as well. I don’t really play pets much so it’s probably a mechanic thing I’m unaware of, by why can’t your pet auto attack and your toon use skills?
Well, E has dropped off to irrelevancy now, so it would at least bring them to the forefront again. I asked some guildies about who they thought E was the other day and no one could recall E even being mentioned in the story.
I still think they need a bit more info, even if it’s a mail in game. I find plenty in game who haven’t noticed or come across these events. I know they aren’t big or significant content, but it does seem a tad weird not to advertise them beyond an easily missed, cryptic line in the patch notes.
As for the events, they exist to enhance speculation ahead of LS3. I think they do that well for their content limitations. It’s also reassuring to see them continue to develop new events for the core maps.
There are reports of the megaserver system not working as desired in maps like these and changes are coming long term to help address such things.
The scope and detail however are unknown, but we can but hope it helps here. Or that maps are less focussed on full metas going forward.
EU runs regularly – a couple of weeks ago I was running it once or twice a weeknight.
But it wont run unless you get in a reset or taxi in. I would say DS runs more than a proper VBT4 or even TD. The issue is unlike other maps, you are unlikely just to walk into an active map, which is somewhat of a major design flaw.
If you enter a map 20mins or more into the cycle, you will almost never see it running.
Use /wiki event timer in game to see when the reset hits for the map.
Both have 2 upgrade slots, you can overwrite the one Juggernaut comes with. You can also change the stats on Juggernaut at willl, whilst Fix R Upper has a cost to do so via the forge.
Im standing on top of it.
Doesnt register as a waypoint, so still shows that I havnt found it.
If it shows as contested, then it means you have found it. It’s not that waypoint.
Can you provide us a screenshot of your map?
And you are 100% certain the waypoint you are mising isn’t the one south of the lake in the underground quaggan home? That gets missed a lot.
If they are churning through the TP at a slow rate, surely that is because people aren’t willing to pay silly prices – considering the sheer number of coins needed for certain recipes in weapons, legendaries and Guild Halls, that it is understandeable.
That would suggest a desire for players to want alternative ways to obtain the coins.
For what purpose? Now that you can instant consume a stack of any size, there is almost no need for tiers beyond the few crafting recipes that need them.
It was suggested quite prominently during HoT beta when they asked fir feedback over the day and night cycles. Verdant Brink at night would have more dangerous and atmospheric with a pronounced gloom in places.
The suggestion, was never acknowledged, so I suspect they are not in favour of darker nights.
And launcher too. The other poll did, but i spoke to a few people who hadnt heard of this poll
I loved GW1 and it invokes strong memories, most of which are positive. It was a game which founded rich lore, founded a better business model for us all and has had aspects emulated in so many mmos since.
Having said that, I remember:
the vast complaints of storytelling,
Pvp,
huge imbalance of classes,
grind for titles and social stuff particularly during some festivals
the hatred for hard mode by casuals versus the love by more elite players,
map design in Cantha,
world exploration being a nightmare to get 100%
For everything amazing that GW1 did and it was groundbreaking and evolved to a high level by its end, there are many echoes of complaints of what it did wrong then as what GW2 is perceived to be doing wrong now.
GW2 makes many of the same mistakes of the past and a whole host of new ones in its story and uncetainty in how it wants to celiver its vision and that is part of the problem. However, it has attracted a wider audience and continues to at least try to break new ground – sometimes failing, sometimes succeeding. But, GW1 was no perfection judging by what the vocal community often were saying at the time.

Whilst i dont think this will happen based on the small info we have on bubbles and that a great darkness in the past from previous rises would likely be better recorded….i really like the idea. I like horror and mythos themes and this has strong appeal.
Its ridiculous, expensive, unnecessary and immersion breaking.
I want one
She hesitates too much. I’d be halfway back to the castle in that time.
Sometimes turning off the music and having more ambient sounds can be good for immersion. For example, wandering through the jungle with more sounds of birds, roars, and general background, can really enhance the setting.
I remember when I reached Gondor in Lotro and the glow of Mt Doom was visible on the horizon. The intense thunder and lightning, combined with an eerie silence made it far more immersive than playing obtrusive music.
Not that GW2 music is bad, in fact the newer music since Dry Top has been exceptional and more appropriate to the maps than Soules stuff. But, sometimes you can enhance a setting equally with amplified sounds of nature and weather just as much.
That portal was beta access to the expansion which is to the west of silverwastes. It obviously is no longer required.
There are no areas north of silverwastes that are or have been part of the playable map. The GW2 map includes non accessible areas for geographical reasons
Name purges are not common. They do exist granted across many mmos, but never without consideration of the wider impact and rarely more than once in a games lifetime.
The devs have answered this quite definitively – there simply is no gain for them to do this. Existing players will find names to use from a system which is extremely flexible and lapsed players have the option to retain character names should they wish to return the game.
I would say do not rush through HoT just to finish masteries. Most of the mastery lines have only small QoL benefits and rushing through maps just to get them can be detrimental to savouring the experience.
Also, the more you farm towards a goal, the longer it will feel like it takes. I played a few toons in different maps, doing various activities and after 3-4 days my final mastery line was done and I hadnt even noticed.
And yes, 400 was the launch hp requirement. A backlash from the community got Anet to change it to 250 after the first week, which is a lot more sensible. I agree with HoT being quicker than WvW for hps. Plenty of players seem happy to help on a map when a call goes out for assistance.
So I got the item, did what it said to do, and then investigated the three locations as noted, and I see…..nothing. Theres nothing there. Anyone seen anything odd? Speculations? Theories?
The events will spawn at the nearby leyline font every 10 mins or so. The general consensus since the events began is that this is the prelude to LS3 and speculates that magic leaking back into the world from dead Dragons is being consumed by the other dragons and their minions. And possibly other beings..
Dont forget mayatl the fierce who gives a hidden mastery point not listed in your panel. Located in verdant brink. You or someone with you will need the relevant mastery line to access the fight.
