Any class and I meen ANY class that lets the Reaper get to close is gonna regret it…. they think just cause we are slow they can keep us at a distance. Iam gonna be the first to say “I told you so” to the ppl who think we are slow walking lootbags cause i see builds where not even a Warrior can stay for long in Melee with us… but just wait and see when they cry as the 4th or 5th Gravedigger hits em…

Iv bin with the Necro all the time since before start and for the first time Iam actually happy, cause I see the builds, I see the pain, I see them crying….

worst thread I ever seen in Necro Forums, Iv bin there from start and I share the frustration but reading this makes me almost ahsamed to be a Necro…

On a Necro build of any type I never have issues or fear a Thief, what i fear is 2 Thieves….

that will NOT change with Reaper, I can see them get me but Thief needs to be ready for a longer fight vs a Reaper and I can see them haveing huge issues with that. Pistol Thieves can created issues and if they get Rifle as there Elite there range advantage will be an issue.

“Reapers Shouts are way to powerful to be instant cast”…. Anet sees them as being quite strong and maybe there internal testing shows that. Imho tho it really feels like they are only strong in 1vX enemies(prefer 3-5) to get the full effects. For solo roaming I really dont see any shouts makeing it bar 6-10.

But listening to the stream for the 4th-5h time today Anet (Robert) things they are very powerful.

I can see several of the Shouts being really kitten good and Specced with Augury of Death or what its called (cd reduction) but it requires alot of targets to be effective so in WvW thats were they will have the best effect and I will use them for sure.

In WvW I can get 8k+ Healing + 40% LF gain in same time as u get off 1 Consume Conditon for example.

yea its situational ofc, but I feel it can be a kitten good option both in WvW and PvE

and with the Suffer shout you will have the Condi Cleanse so np there…

so “Your Soul is Mine” the new shout-heal we get, a challenge to Consume Conditions ?

Cause if I get this right in a situation were we have alot of targets around us and with the New Trait “Augury of Death” 7% recharge /target x5 =35% recharge

then we can get 4k Healing + 20% LF every 13sec right ? and thats sounds pretty kitten good.

This is factually wrong, as anyone who has played Guild Wars 1 can tell you.

In fact, it is wrong on two counts. Necromancers in Guild Wars are not evil, and in GW1 they were also not selfish.

I played Gw1 and Necro, but that is NOT the standard of necromancer and look at the names of the skills and you know exactly what i ment. Take referance from RifT,LotR, and other fan fiction its NOT represented as a servant of Good is it ?

Also the concept of your own little “team” as in Gw1 isnt here anymore, you known this for 3y aswell.

Shouts are mostly instant
Shouts are quite powerful
Shouts provide effect not just dmg

Id say for those looking for some type of support from Shout, you most likely get that in the Heal-Shout we will be getting, maybe in the Elite. However Reaper Shouts will be dmg-based and not grp/self buffing.

We known for 3y that Necro dosent offer grp-support in any other form then maybe applying Vun. to targets, we also known that Anet wants it this way. I guess those that do Dungeons/PvE content suffer for Necro not haveing this support but as I said 3y is plenty of time to make a desicion on your main profession and if that is indeed your game-content preference it must have bin more easy for you all to long ago change class rather then to change “the Class”.

Anet dosent want us to do that, we known this for 3y so why still ask for it… maybe the Increased dmg + cleave + shouts can give you the PvE tools u want (i dont do PvE) but buffing allies never really bin the concept of Necro

We got Shouts and lets face it most of you tought so, I didnt but was wrong. However I said if we get shouts they wont buff allies and on that part I was correct. There is in true necro Forum style alot of negative comments and yea words as “slow” is not really what we want to hear, tho calm down… we still havent seen any Major Traits, basicly no Weaponskills and we read about 1 out of 6 shouts.

And on positive note: Mesmer got 2 W-skills + F5 and we get 5 w.skills +5 DS Skills so alot of new stuff

Il go Spite + Soul Reaping (reason I havent re-rolled) + Elite = Power Build is Given

I hope for:

a way to dis-engage a fight (leap,teleport)
a reflect/block/dmg mitigation (only class that lacks it)
a Greatsword that is Melee-based (not like the mesmer)
and that they dont mess-up DS (i like it mostly)

Life Siphon ? nah that ship has sailed, Anet has no clue howto do it correctly

Atleast iam happy the necro reveal is under PoI-Week and not under Ready-Up week due to the fact that Josh seems to give us the cold shoulder and seems so unintrested in the necro overall.

These are the Classes left that could get Shouts: Elementalist, Necromancer, Thief, and Engineer. It may very well be us that gets it but Shouts are on the classes that have it skills that gives Boon,Buffs,Support and that is NOT something that Anet has ever given Necromancer. I have a hard time seeing us getting that at this point in time, it also dosent fit our Class imo. So could the shouts all be like “Fear Me” (warrior variation) ? yea maybe..

We know Ele Elite is called Tempest, Necro isnt a Support/Boon class (shouts usually goes that way),Thief or Engi is my guess for shouts but I could be wrong ofc.

If Necro gets shouts however dont expect us the Shouts that support or gives boons to either us or allies…. I just dont see that.

There is another Nerf to those Condi Necros that use SoS aswell since the Adept Signet recharge trait is now GM in Spite Traitline wichh I basicly see no Condi Necro going for so 48sec SoS is 60sec.

Food Buffs,Runes and Sigils didnt change and was/is not part of the discussion so plz leave it out. We talk about the Trait-Changes here and nothing else. And a 1sec Dhuumfire even with no ICD is a Nerf and haveing both Terror & 100% Con Duration as GM in Curses is a big Nerf that is the point Iam makeing, if u compare that to what ALL other classes got yesterday only DD Eles can share this crap we got.

I can still as I say see Power Necro now being stronger however Power Necro has always bin behind Condi Necro in strenght and it now feels that none of our Builds really will be up to par in the current Meta.

Power Wellomancer in large scale WvW will still ofc has its place but thats is only a small part of my gameplay and I bet its not everyones game mode either.

And since necro is rarely represented in sPvP or tPvP (with a very few exceptions) and basicly non-existing in PvE of any kind (still several lfg that specificly say “no necro”) I then cant understand why Anet choose to do so little for this class and even in some cases Nerf it yet again when they clearly Buff up other classes….

Food, Runes has nothing to do with trait changes so why even bring that up. Shrouded Removal is NOT a specific Condi based Necro trait is it ? so dont get that either, I said in wich Traits and How I think a Condi Necro is getting nerfed and I still stick to it.

GM trait in Curses (huge nerf mainly due to a choice)

It seeems after 3y and constant Nerfs Necro still is considered OP and requires a Nerf from Anet. I dont get it.

Ok Its only the Condi Necro that is getting a Nerf , Power is actually imho getting a Buff or atleast a chance for a better Build with potentially higher dmg with Chill apply Vunerability trait aso… But the Curses GM wich have a Conflict between Terror & Scepter-Duration Trait is a real Nerf and forces Condi Necs to do a hard choice. Dhuumfire tho moved and removed ICD is a nerf.

I just dont get as atm Necro is the least played Class in 2 out of the 3 game-modes, I say it again; least played Anet

Ofc the other Nerfed Class is the Arcana Ele or DD Ele wich have now a similar hard choice in GM Arcana when Elemenatl Attunement and Evasive Arcana share a slot

I still prefer Power Necro think its more of a Challenge and more fun, it has always bin the weaker of the 2 and maybe now it will shine for a few months until Meta change again with introduction of GS and Elite Spez Trait.

Also why does it feels like when Josh talks about Necro in stream he sounds like its a burden and then all is fine again when they move to Ranger, left me with a wierd feeling in my stomach….

Well sofar the time has bin worth it, and its NOT just the Stab, It a really significant inc to Protection,Fury,Swiftness from say your Spectral Skills. I like it alot sofar. Seems to have effect atm doing a Guild Raid and I stay alive alot more, the able to avoid the stunlock and getting away from a FP hitting you has bin good.

@Roe I do use Spectral Attument now in the Solo Roam version of the Build. Agree with you but dont wanna skimp to much on DM either or I start loosing Boon Duration.

It does alot for your LF, and it also takes the Stab over the 5sec mark. You can later it as you feel tho.

Yea the idea of a Necro useing Boons is abit far fetched I know but bare with me here, I was thinking alot of the FiG and the recent changes to Stab. Trying to get a build that gives you the benefits of jumping in-and -out of DS while still have good enough dmg and also the option to stay in DS even without Deadly Perception and I came up with this:

Have bin testing it only for a short time due me needing to actually pvE for recipes aso, but was kinda fun to see a Turret Engi and a DD Ele be abit lost last night.

It gives me 5sec of Stab, 5sec of Ret, Weakness and Fury (when u want) every 7sec…

Still with Guard stax aso I will have both decent Power and Damage in this build, actually more then decent. The Dubloons in Sigil slots arent really needed but what the hell.

The other thing that could really spice this build up is the use of WoP on yourself and the effects of the Boons u get from converting the Conditions on you… havent had much time to try this out yet tho. Also since Food gives you 30% Boon Duration I think its fair to say it wont be as effective in sPvP.

There is also the option to Instead of useing V in Spite to say take X Spectral Attunement in Curses for a 14,5sec Protection Duration on Spectral Armor and then with Spectral Mastery have that every 40sec (twice with Last Gasp)

Il try some more but sofar I enjoy this build and havent lost a fight yet, tho as I said not much playtime with it.

Judging by the amount of times i got called “OP noob / kittening scrub OP necro” Not many people get it…

In Duels and sPvP 1v1 situation I get this alot aswell, so i agree totally. Just that the fact they dont understand how DS scales kittenes me off, its NOT good 1vX and non-Necs dosent seem to understand that. It just dosent compensate for the lack of disengage, Mobility and the fact we lack reflect/block.

I wonder if u loose more players with the 10% lower Cap then with the lag ? In the long run Id say u need to come up with a solution rather then a small fix. And seeing the number of viewers on stream thats dubbled since EXP announcment and ofc the closer we get to its release u may wanna pull some Devs towards this Issues asap.

This WvW Lag has bin bad since Sep/Oct 2014 and really really bad since Stab-Patch, I have absolutely no hope u sort this out before the Expansion.

so you Decreased the Border Map Cap Anet, so you fix your stuff with a small bandaid on a bleeding wound that just keeps bleeding ? This is utter fail and a complete slap in the face for us WvW players. We have ques in t 3-5 now in ALL Borders and when Exp comes how will u solve it then ? You (Anet) messed something up when u introduced the Stab-patch and u try fix it with this, pathetic decrease… its NOT a solution. You just creating a bigger issue by not dealing with the mess you made…

LOL @Ravezaar, well I guess you will be leaving WvW then possibly the game because they have already said that this map is going to replace the current borderlands map regardless of whether you buy the expansion or not. I know laughing at you is rude but I cant help it since making assertions about something you know nothing about is just too funny.

I know they swapping out Alpine for Desert so I know EXACTLY what Iam talking about, and the pvE ascpect in the oasis is just the last straw. But itsfine you and the rest of the EotM karma-heroes can have your EotM 2.0 cause tbh most WvW Guilds already left and this aint bringing them back, lmao

2 Thieves are tricky if u are Power Nec, S/D and alot of evade and a P/D cheeze Condi since and as Condi Necro its imho our easiest kill next to Engi.

As Power Nec just dont use Axe vs Thief. I also like Spectral skills vs then for fast recharge of LF.

Simple math in WvW the more CC you place on the targets the more Stab-stax get stripped in faster time = the more players you have on your side the better wich favors Zergs even further and this was gonna be a counter to Zergs. I think the last braincell just packed his bag at there office and walked out the door….
