Dont remove the stun, no frikkin way

Good:

Movement – better mainly due to Stability, Relentless Pursuit and the Leap
Damage – Its good dmg, sometimes Great( not Warrior dmg) but actually good for us
Cleave -There is alot of Cleave, Finally !!
Reaper Shroud – Seems like all 5 skills are well balanced

And I have more fun on Reaper then I had in over a year on my Necro

Bad:

Gravedigger – the cast time is wayyy to high
GS #3 needs imho abit range
LF Generation is very low on GS, specially when u only hit 1 target
also u seem to be pushed out of Reaper Shroud faster then DS, mayb due to u being hit more as Melee based Shroud but its very noticable and several Guildies say the same
Shouts – All are underwhelming when you only hit 1 target but they are still kinda weak even when u hit more targets, exception is the Elite that actually works either way.

so far what I seen our Elite Shout used at right time can swing a fight, specially on point in sPvP, would imagine it works great in WvW aswell. Saw some tests with Your Soul is Mine and can already see that while the LF is nice the Heal is just wayyyy underwhelming atm…

Iam going GS/Staff and I most likely atleast when Roaming on Reaper gonna have Sp.Grsp cause tho I think Reaper is better then current Necro vs ALL enemies in Melee its most likely worse off vs most Range. Tho Ranger imho is the only real Ranhe-Dps class left…

Ok i stand corrected and I do ty for the response, hopefully we seen enough Nerfs but since its Necro I guess thats not gonna be the case. 3/5 GS skills bin nerfed and several traits nad chill already…

no watch the stream again, and even the Reaper PoI with Robert he says “We since changed this so the stability remains even after u leave Shroud”… you should have the possibilty to press#3 get the Stability ticking and then continue with that Stab up for 8sec. thats waht they said.

Yea but I saw a guy press#3 then go out of Shroud, Stab was still there as it should be after there adjustment but still it seem nowhere near 8sec

Cause when I see ppl playing it, its still pulsating Stab wich is nice but it dosent seem anywhere near thos 8sec we were shown last time, looks more like 4-5sec….

anyone got more info on this ?

Gravedigger was an AoE Heart Seeker version and I saw a stream clip of a 8k hit on a Guardian where the Reaper only had 8 Might stacks. It can have potential but the nerf to the CD reduction instantly removes its link to Heart Seeker…. sadly

Will have to see this weekend exactly what numbers one can reach, still say fullZerk Reaper is gonna be suicide due to the fact that both GS and new Shroud makes us a Melee-Class with light armor.

Building LF with GS isnt a huge issue we have several good Utility Skills for that and Il bet with practice one can get hits in with GS#3. My biggest concern was if they were gonna touch Gravedigger (sadly they did) and Reaper SHorud #3 (wich seems to still have its 8s Stab on pulsate). Those two skills imho will be crucial in a good Reaper Build.

Its starting to get so annoying everytime u swap Border or waypoint or relog a Character that red sign pops up next to Training, apperantly it effects certain Classes: mainly Mesmer , Necro, Guard

Bin there for 2 weeks now and cant be hard to fix a simple thing like that

What Donee is saying and his Vidz porve it is Solo Roam works best with Condi, always has and sadly for me and other Power Necs I doubt it will change. Dont think the Power Reaper will be effective as a Solo Roamer tho Il deffo will give my best. Feels like u will be to reliant on Gap-Closers as its even slower and lacks range (things like Sp.Grasp) will almost be a must.

Power Nec has really one place it shines over Condi Nec only: Large Scale WvW

a Warrior with its stances is 1 of the hardest counter to any Necro type so cry more in the Necro Forum:
cause its not like u have:
-superior burst
-better defensive tools
superior movement
-stance to counter bot Power and Condi Necro

DS is also mostly an Power Necro issue were for us its a Bread n Butter tool in both offence & defence. A Condi Necro ofc uses Torment,PoC and Doom but a Condi Necro does most of its dmg out of DS and only really have to worry about Stance Warrior or an occasional Ele that swapped to D-Skin cause he saw the Consumable of the poor guy comming towards him and tought lets kill this fight before it starts. A Power Necro have to worry about every single block/reflect and we do most of our dmg inside DS and every missed hit is just 1 step closer to defeat.

LF and DS is a superb mechanic on Paper but after 3y in reality it dosent Scale, it rarely out-sustains the inc dmg and with really any cleave options we cant make it function for 1vX.

As a Power Necro Reaper is what Iam hopeing for, will LF and new Shroud be better ? it looks a boost and new Shroud and GS is better suited for my style of Necro the Power based one. Specially intrested in ALL the cleave and LF-Gen on Shorud AA.

I know as a Nec u shouldnt really have hopes but Reaper is main and really only reason I still play.

When a Thief asks in dual to reset my LF to = I just calmly respond “sure but dont use stealth in first 10sec”… DS is our ONLY defence and on Power Necro our best offence but its NOT Invun cause we dont have any… any decent Warrior,Medi-Guard,Thief,Pew Pew Ranger and Mesm can get our full DS to zero within a rotation. If the target pops stab then go crazy we have very little time. DS is an inferior defence mechanic in gw2 cause it dosent SCALE with 1vX. Everytime I see these threads it cause some player just lost a 1v1 vs a Necro and if that Necor was Power Specced and you are NOT an Engi maybe instead of makeing a thread u should l2p first.

After watching Ele get everything Reaper(I play only Necro) gets but muc much better Iv desided to not really continue support this game and since I pre-purchased HoT Iam wondering if I can get my money back ? I know for a fact I wont play this anymore and just wondering if its gone or if a refound is possible ?

Necro dosent need Revenant to be dead, Anet have fixed that long ago….

I do NOT think this at all, on paper Id say immediately its an improvement vs all Melee classes, DD Ele included, tho it may loose ground vs Mesmer & LB Ranger and obvious Skill adaptation has to be used to counter a best you can but overall and still on paper Id say Reaper is a definate boost to Necro vs most Classes.

But diffrent opinons is always good.

Really hard to guess this match-up but I see it like this for sPvP atleast:

Fighting on Points I clearly give the edge to the Reaper with GS + New SHroud

Fighting anywhere else I have to give the edge to the Mesmer, movement just wins and Reaper tho we get Relentless Pursuit wont be enough.

Top tier lmao, best post ever. Condi Necor can still kill most 1v1 but even for them a PU Mesmer is most often to hard now. Cant hit what u cant see and PU can do there rotaion then stealth wait for CD’s… repeat. I agree we around 6-7th place atm in most aspects

If u also look several ppl above is boosting there stats with SoS bare that in mind.

The traitline is meaningless the most important thing thats missing is the dps weapon set. a lot of the meta builds dont even touch the power traitling and still put out significant damage through conditions or crits. (trapper ranger, medi guard, d/d cele)

Yea the Weapon Set focusing on DPS is ofc equally important but the DPS Traitline is not meaningless, even if its no passive stat boost anylonger there is still a clear-cut DPS trait-line for all classes and thats the one we missing atm. It will most likely have crucial Traits that will in some way effect dmg output so your reasoning is flaud.

Same as saying Spite is meaningless for Necro dps, when in fact the might stacking traits clearly boost our dmg output.

He is the Boss if u play Mesmer , he is the devil in disguise if u play Necor… I still like his passion just dont get his Nerfs at all tho. But no dont go to Rev

@Bhawb the optimist even u have to see this is a big Nerf to a class that can barely suffer more nerfs as it is. I think something in IT have made this chill nerf happen but its is so so bad when they give us the background of Reaper as the “Chill maste” and we see a Nerf to it even before its release.´

I still think Reaper will be a great adition to Necro and I still think it will be fun, sad its main CC mechanic to keep targets close is getting nerfed quite Hard. The dmg will be there it seems will we hit the targets tho is the question

And yet there is a youtube clip on a PU shatter Mes 1-burst 3 players down at a Ram near a Tower Gate…. 1 Shatter and 3 downed now does that seem right ? and its the same Dev kitten ….

I really DONT LIKE the PvE elements however, to much from EotM into Borders is really not what I want. Ok there will be no CHamp/Karma farm in the Border I know that still I dont like the Oasis,Balthazar Dogs, Earth-Walls or Gusts of Wind cannons.

Imho leave WvW to WvW-players and leave the PvE out of the Map, remove mobs and aswell on the open Areas. I wanna fight players and other Guilds not hit Dinosaurs, Lizards,Skritt aso…

I see huge potential and less Zerging but I also see elements that really scares me.

Hes right, Moa locks down MM and Power NOT always Condi due to the fact u can still have several Condis ticking on the Mesmer when u get Moa’d while as Power u need to actually hit to do dmg and are lock downed.

Tho I dont see a skill from another class a reason to why we are low/bottom tier.

Imho its:

Movement
Lack of Disengage
Reflect/Block
Stability

(basicly all classes can disengage except Nec, a Guard can disengage form 1 target guess who ? )

I saw your talk baout the Necro in the big-patch Stream and u said u didnt want the Necro to Buff allies or remove conditions or cleanse but rather CONVERT conditions into Boons…. And then going by the new changes to say traits like Spiteful Spirit and Signet of Suffering how come you then dont give the same effect for clear and imho obvious choices like:

dont get me wrong I like the buff to that trait and its the main reason Iam sticking with CC atm but how come you then clearly have some traits that Cleanse/Consume and some that Converts ? Master of Conditions or just remover of Conditions Anet ?

I still belive in Robert Gee but yes its wierd that the main Dev for the 2 classes in this thread has managed to get Mesmer to TOP-spot ingame currently and Necromancer now widly regarded as bottom (no not just on this forum). When I saw yesterdays Chill and pre-Reaper Nerf I actually tought it was a joke but then quickly remembered that I play a Necro and kinda shrugged it off…. used to it by now.

Tho its funny cause in most ppls view and the talk on sites,forums and chat noone was saying ooh plz Nerf that Chill its wrecking us in PvP, WvW. The talk is much more about the 100% PU stealth buff from last week, and the insane dmg and synergy between some traits in Domination line for Mesmers.

So how come a Dev who handles both classes think a Chill Nerf is needed when 100% Stelth duration is ok ?

These 2 classes in so far a part on the ladder atm, they cant even see each other yet somehow they share the same Dev….

Counter to Mesmer: I would say Block but we are the one class of 8 that lacks it, so Devs would say DS and yea that seems to be the Devs anser to all soultions for Necro, problem is its scales so badly and is so easily depleated its a joke. SoL is a good clone killer…Weakness and Conditions in general but since we talking Power Necro well hope good team m8’s and wish for Dev to wake up.

I think he did a great job with Necro, tho Mesmers are OP atm and imho the strongest class after Warriors still think his work on Reaper and Necro as a whole is very good…. also kinda like Robert cause he actually seem passionate about our Class.

aah yea sry missed his Build, running MM can be good and then next fight totally crap due to AI… I never do it so.

no Iam talking about WvW, almost all I do is Solo Roam on my Necro there and if u choose to face a LB Ranger in wide open field without any LoS then above listed jukes are what I use, however I try to LoS first always if I see the Ranger. why run MM ?

LB Ranger isnt a big deal, they usually kitten themselfs when u close the GAp wich u can do with Wurm,SW,DP or SG and its NOT hard you just have to wait for sitautaion when he cant avoid it say after a Fear for ex. After hundreds of fights vs LB Rangers I can say best is FiG trait, negates there #4 and rocks them. Some tips, ppl here will say: a good Ranger will do this and he will do that… Iam just saying what I kill them with.

Best Synergy for my Power Reaper comes from Soul Reaping by far: cant see me ever give up on: Vital Persistance + Life Force pool and I wanna use Speed of Shadows to get back in there aswell.

Maybe with Spite: Bitter Chill works great for Reaper aswell.

I agree with Donee and I will add the Bunker Condi Eles are also painful when they are played Correctly. Solo roaming on any class is one the best way to learn your class, traits, skills and to slowly increase your skill both in howto survive and howto beat other classes.

I spend 90%+ of my ingame time doing this and I still love it.
