Reapers will do fine vs Daredevil and Thief in general imho, Going for relentless pursuit and good use of Infuseing Terror and he can dance around with his kitten Stick all he wants….

A traditional Condi Necro gets again a big hit, after Berserker last week seems Condi Necro gets hard countered yet again… specially with the 1s ICD Dodge removal Master trait.

Evadeing a slow cast skill will happen alot but NOT ALWAYS no matter how skilled a Thief (or any other class btw) is they will not Evade or Block or simple avoid all big Slow hits.

They can be CC stun,daze,knockdowned and Immob… but to say that a person is Idiot for not Evadeing a slow cast skill is imho definition of not being clear on how combat works. Most slow cast skills like GS AA and even Executioner Scythe and Gravedigger will be Evaded by a good Thief but by no means ALL, and all a good Reaper needs is to hit with 1-2 of these hard hitters to completely swing they fight vs a Thief.

Warrior is Hard Counter to necro, even more so with Berserker. Thief I found sometimes very easy to kill on Necro and with more Melee I see no change.

You are not alone most ppl play Warrior followed by Ele its mainly cause they allow for most mistakes. I like the look of Revenant but abit wierd that the defence/survive -mode didnt really come until Herald Elite Spez and not in the main 5 traitlines like with the other classes. And first now after Herald they made Jarlis/Dwarf abit more defence.

Necro actually has that due to DS/RS not scaleing 1vX and we also as only class lack block/reflect/Immunity/leap atleast until Reaper when we get abit of that. But main thing is still: Necro lack DISENGAGE hence Low survivability

yea I miss heard them, I guess they said Berserker… maybe we have BWE next weekend due to its PaX like we had in sync with Gamescom ? Hope so

I get that the Warrior have always bin jack of all trades, my concern is that its actually also best at so many of those trades…

@Tim wont work vs Pulsating Stab just no real effect u get from Terror then, may be a small inconvenience for the Berserker but very little more and yes Our way to manipulate Condis works but NOT vs Warrior with so many Cleanses + Berserker Stance sry but I see Power Reaper as a maybe chance to take em out but even there the Berserker have more burst and on a shorter CD + Endure Pain its all-in-all just to much of a counter for Necro/Reaper

These Reaper changes will we be able to test them in next BWE ? otherwise Feedback will just be repetiton and pointless, cause I heard some worrying stuff on PoI yesterday that we wont. Hope i heard wrong, really wanna test GS changes and see if has improved

Í hit a Ele (not upscaled) for 16k Executioners Scythe in WvW last BWE and constant 10k+ Gravediggers, (and that will add 50% dmg) granted this was more often then not with Full might stacks and for sure Vun on target but my point I think our Elite Spez is good dmg.

What bothers me is they talked about the opposite to Reaper stands the Berserker and it feels like it has more tools to counter us then we have to counter it, imho it seems to outshine us in most things.

And Condi vs a Berserker is not gonna gonna work, I just cant see it at all. As a mainly Solo Roamer and PvP player I see the class that counters me most is even harder to fight come HoT. I cant see how a class can have both imunity to dmg, Immunity to Condi, best cleansing ingame and Perma Stab all at once….

I think they want to make the specializations look so good in order to sell HoT, because let’s be fair, the price and what it offers so far is not that attractive., that they forgot about balance. This thing is just broken in so many ways.

Yes and also the fact that Warrior already according to Anet is the nr1 most played class in the game currently just ahead of Ele, has bin so for along time. but this is just pathetic cause Reaper gave us a chance vs the Stab-Heavy and CC-Heavy classes like Warrior and Ele and this just resets that completely…

I took/take Speed of Shadows as Power Reaper, and I do it mostly for the CD on RS recharge. As Power Necro I base iton that and Unyeilding Blast is “overkill” for Vun on a Reaper. Soul Marks well gonna try and face Staff out of my W-Sets and go D/Wh+GS.

Is Speed of Shadows a great trait ? No… Is it viable ? Yes… Does it fit better with RS then DS ? Imho Yes, due to the 25% Speed helps to stay in Melee easier

yea the scaleing 1vX of Shroud is Necros biggest design flaw and what generally makes us the Target. If they figured out the Scaleing Necro would be imho upto par in most aspects of the game.

I agree with you and I see it closer to being viable in WvW then sPvP currently but mainly its due to its cast-times. I think the AA even buffed is to slow, and gravedigger also gets buffed but its still to slow to hit so… In WvW Staff is king and sadly GS wont compete with that.

I found that when on point in sPvP there is alot of oportunitys to do this, and i hit several players when cleaving and defending point. Nightfall is very good on point as a WoD basicly. Thos here is still the problem with say Gravedigger: the cast-time is to long… and even now when its CD can be reduced 100% its still gonna be as hard to land as before.

as I said before Iam not worried about the Life Force GAIN on Reaper, Iam worried about the Life Force DRAIN on the Reaper and specially compare to current state… its just not upto par or atleast not enough.

I get it Donee, Condi is so much easier in 1v1 situations for Necro and works vs most classes just better, its also a better counter due to the fact that so many of the othe classes roam on Condi Builds and u as Necro can then counter them better. Exception imo is stance-warriors and some Eles.

But Iam not saying that u not good, imo its your Condi Vidz I like the most look forward to them as I do to Holts Power Vidz and finally it seem we Power Necs can close the gap abit with Reaper ( I hope atleast)

you actually get pretty good stab from CttB Elite aswell, not just RS#3 but imho I think its enough Stab.

Well most posts I read said the damage wasn’t there for the long cast time, so with damage needed to be upped OR cast had to be adjusted. They adjusted damage, I’m ok with that.

Iam also ok with it and I really like the changes, just wierd that Community isnt more vocal about the 1-thing they seemed least happy with during the week. In regard to it btw, despite the fact that I like we getting LF on GS-AA I seriously doubt we see much effect of it due to how hard it is to land, and the 3% LF-Gen is on the third hit… Idk if I hit one player with that during BWE, PvE mobs ofc np but actual players I cant recall.

I have 2 questions: Why u wanna go the easy choice Condi ? and Why u wanna go Condi in PvE ?
Granted there were ppl that had sucess with Condi Revs in BWE but also in big part was that the Support/Power line was so much more broken, I really dislike this Condi Meta.

Unfortunately it seems DS in the bugged version or atleast it reduces dmg more then RS. I dont have numbers but same a Vid on reddit or youtube on this. Dont have link but u can proberly search.

Really great to see you listen to the feedback, and there was alot here, and on reddit and even TentonHammer story about the Reaper. I like the changes aswell, adress most issues alot of us had with Reaper.Cant wait to try it out for next BWE.

LF drain in RS is a concern and the Increase to 1.5% on AA is good but will it be enough since RS compared to DS is a Melee focused mechanic I still see this as an issue.

And I get your vision of the slow & hard hitting Reaper with the GS tho Iam still worried about actually landing the GS-Skills mainly the AA and would have wanted abit of the cast-times but yea I take the LF and Increase in dmg and hope it does the trick.

Yea I agree increase the dmg output and targets need to put more effort in avoid and substain hence our defence will be improved. I think RS dmg is good however just GS needs a clear boost on most skills. The big drop in Reaper defence is that LF drains faster in RS then in DS, so tested by several players… specially shown in a vid with Rapid Fire draining 2 Full Shrouds… and RS drains ALOT faster then DS so its not only a Melee thing.

I do like Robert Gee and he did answer, however its to far between that a Dev visit this sub-Forum and seeing the state of our Class its obvius, seeing the Feedback on Reaper from all here and the post on Tenton Hammer I bet they have alot on there minds but I have no hope for improvement, bin here since start and we have least amount of responses , least amount of ppl play this Class and we seen least amount of Buffs…..

yea same here, hard to go back. Tho Reaper has its flaws its mainly in the new Weapon and Shouts. I miss it

WvW Guild raids and Solo Roaming basicly 100% og ingame time and Reaper in Power build is far superior to current Necro. Dont know Condi Reaper since I dont go Condi anymore.

In Raids the Reaper frontline or as we use them basicly just behind or following our Melee works very good, and u can still use Wells and after GT was made default the Reaper wont suffer from trait-loss. Another Trait that really works superbly in this is Transfusion even with Zerk/Soldier gear it still heals over 5k and u help Melee alot since they now get the Heal (u are close enough).

Solo Reaper is very good but ofc in current state of game u need a Condi cleanse, RS far better then current DS and only issue is Life Force drains much faster in RS, idk why its just is that way… maybe cause we get hit more ?

GS in solo is ok, in Raids it cant compete with Staff so something just need to happen to it. I like GS and the skills just NOT the cast times….

I only really use 1 shout, the Elite CttB, imho work wonders in both Solo,Small-scae and large Raids. Weaklings shout + B-Boon can also be good to re-gain LF fast, use it right and its 20% LF every single time so…

Gravedigger needs to be fast yes maybe a 3/4 cast time instead 1 1/4 ? But stronger ? nah its our second hardest hitting skill we even had after Executione Scythe. On players both in WvW & PvP 10-13k crits happen.

are u for real ? ofc I havent I said I played necro for 5000h + and still havent mastered howto trigger Focus on regular basis. U really couldnt get that or u just trying to be smart. Iam saying GS will have a high learning curve say compare to easy Staff… and judgeing it out after 1 day is abit much.

It doesn’t take a lot of skill for players with a brain to simply walk away while your slow terrible skills barely hit.

Thats why u have range option, either in Utlity Skill or other Weapon Set, no skill in the world can avoid getting hit forever…. and a SKILLED Necro will hit with GS

If u are saying Reaper Shroud needs a dps boost u NOT useing it correctly, GS however and Shouts need alot of work only Elite Shout and GS Nightfall is good

AA is good dmg and nice cleave just way to slow
Gravedigger cast time should be reduced some (but I like this skill)
3 is very weak imho
Nightfall is best GS skill hand down
Grasp its main issue is the range I would say (maybe 900)

just my view after a evening n some more (sleep? nah)

GS4 or nightfall is really really good, a Melee stopper atm…. leave it is and do something bout the rest of GS skills wich needs work. Gravedigger is great but not with that cast time

Id say the dmg on GS is really good specially Gravedigger, however cast time kills thats skill. rest of GS is meh at best. Exception being “Nightfall” wich I think is brilliant specially when attacked by any kind of Melee.

and as Bhawb said Reaper Shroud is actually very good and imho very balanced on all 5 skills atm.
